Fried Egg Sandwich
Samuel B.

Great quick breakfast spot. Good outdoor seating and nice relaxed vibe on clement street. The egg sandwich is so good I love the brioche bun and runny egg. I got the sausage on the sandwich which was not great, just an aidells sausage cut in half but it was crispy. Would probably get bacon next time. The crispy potatoes were amazing. Quick and nice service. To go coffee also a hit.

Service was kind. Everyone there was warm and welcoming. However I would not return here. Very crowded, can barely walk without bumping into somebody here. The food was below average and overpriced. A 17 dollar breakfast sandwich that comes with arugula and egg, $4 for tomato. I did enjoy the pancakes. Overall the vibe is chill but not worth it in my opinion.

Eats on Clement is a neighborhood diner with 1970s-style signage and a typeface that feels straight out of Cheers. Weekend lines are long, but tables were turned over faster than expected. It's open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., but closed Tuesdays. The almond pancakes were a standout, with a unique texture, similar to cornmeal and topped with berries. The tostaquiles featured scrambled eggs, avocado, crema, and fried tortillas, with eggs floating on top of a thick pimenton sauce. (Only one of two of us liked that particular dish. To me, the sauce was overpowering.) Parking in the area can be difficult, especially on weekends. Overall, Eats on Clement is a solid sit-down brunch spot. Service started strong and friendly, but our waitress left right at 2 p.m., and we were left to sort out how to settle up at the end of our meal.

This place has SUCH a yummy brunch! 100% recommend the huevos rancheros. If you're getting the strawberry shortcake (which you should!), I'd skip out on the biscuit since it's the same thing. Overall, 100% will be back!

Hubs and I visited on a Monday at around 10am and were seated promptly. After asking for recommendations, hubs ordered the Maitake Scramble with salad. He must've enjoyed as he didn't offer me any. I love biscuits and had to give theirs a try - arrived warm. Crunchy exterior, fluffy interior - good with the butter but would've loved a side of jam given the price. I also decided to try something different and ordered the Curry Chickpea bowl - quite a decent portion size and quite filling. Curry flavor subtle. The vegetables helped to add a depth of flavor. Service was good in that they checked on us often, kept our coffee mugs full, and didn't rush us.

| January 17, 2026 | We walked down here and we didn't have to wait very long for our table and since it was fairly nice, we ate outside. Our food arrived at 1:05 and within a half hour we were more than full and satisfied with our food. My bf got the Two Egg Breakfast: Two eggs and buttered toast with fried potatoes with a side of bacon. We split the Caramelized Custard French Toast: double slice acme sourdough with roasted pink lady apples and whipped crème fraiche for $ with a side of chicken apple sausage.

After sampling a few entrees in the menu, including but not limited to the VADOUVAN CURRY CHICKPEAS, the LOADED FRIED POTATOES, and the EATS BURGER... I can safely say that the star of the show is the dessert items. None of the entrees were bad per se, just a little underwhelming overall. My burger in particular was over-seasoned with the patty being dry and very salty although it was not bad flavor wise altogether... The curry chickpeas were runny and watery texture which was a little off puffing and wasn't the tastiest combination overall. The Loaded Fried Potatoes I really really really wanted to like but I was left with a heaviness that the house made hot sauce couldn't mask. The only thing worthwhile to me and the star of the show is the Strawberry Shortcake which comes with roasted strawberries and whipped creme fraiche as well as slices of kumquat which provide a really nice contrast to everything. It was sooo good and a perfect dish to share or to have on your own!!!

Everything was delicious! Came here on a Saturday at 9AM and didn't have to wait for a table. We ordered the potatoes, the tostaquiles, and the french toast to share. The potatoes were soft and both the sauces (the yellow was like a hollandaise) were so good/coated them well. The french toast was my favorite because even thought it was a sweet item it wasn't too sweet or filling. I loved the apples on this so much. The tostaquiles was solid and balanced out the sweet. The place is def small so come early to get a seat. Will return!

The name may sound generic but the food is outstanding! Started with the Curry Chickpeas bowl as an alternative morning starter--an utterly beguiling broth of cauliflower, fennel, garbanzos and more! Savory and satisfying. But what's breakfast without pancakes? They call them fluffy here but these are So Much More than that. Tall, tender, subtly sweet with a hint of crispy edges... The Best Pancakes in Town. The chef knows what they're doing. This is my new favorite breakfast in the Bay Area.

Food was so good and exactly what we needed on a Sunday morning. Their almond flour pancake was delicious and so good for being gluten free!

I almost didn't try this place because of the reviews but I was glad I did! We were seated quickly and the waitress was very polite and friendly as we were slow in ordering. We ordered the Toastaquilles and Fried Egg Sandwich with an egg sunny side up and chorizo. The Toastaquilles was a good portion and delicious, not too spicy. The sandwich was a little messy but so tasty! The chorizo is a patty, so full of flavor! It small but the service was fast so they get you in and out quickly. It's a nice place, typical of small cafes. I would definitely come back as it looks like there's a different menu for lunch!

Thursday, May 15, 2025, 11am: Here for the Avocado Toast. It did not disappoint. Everything on point. -bread actually toasted! -generous portion of ripe avocado -radish slices give a bit of crunch & flavor boost. -seeds, good for you, but a bit heavy handed, drowned out the mild avocado taste. -bacon both crisp & chewy -poached egg made to order -and a serrated steak knife so you can cut the bread! No wait, no laptop encampment, super friendly service. I'll be back. Support Local! -

I returned to Eats 10 years later! We loved the fried chicken sandwich... It was divine! Unfortunately, the maitake mushroom scramble failed to impress, so would not recommend that. Do get the chicken sandwich if you're in the mood for savory and crispy.

We were greeted immediately and shown to the table I had requested (I requested a booth). At many restaurants, reinstated like the are ignored so this was really nice. I also was impressed that they didn't pull the "everyone must be present before you're seated" bs that I really dislike. They seated us and our 4th joined us soon after we ordered drinks. Props! It was a nice big booth with plenty of room for our party of 4. Low lighting and classy dining room. Food was delicious. We chose the lamb. Also lots of inventive cocktails. I chose The Bentley. We also got dessert: lemon curd donuts and a peach trifle.

Then we waited 15 minutes and were never approached for a drink. Oh well,,, hostess came and founds up and took us to our table. Said table was VERY small and shoved into a very small corner in back of a smallish but VERY loud room. Server took at least 10 minutes to greet our table and take a drink order. Drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Ordered deviled eggs for an appetizer. Smoked paprika flavor was overwhelming and we left 4 of the six eggs uneaten. Dinner guest ordered Flat iron steak and fries. Said it was ok "Like a steak at Chili's". He left half his steak and didn't want a box to take the leftover. Also ordered the Mac-n-cheese side and said it was bland and had a mushy texture. I ordered the Black Cod. It was under seasoned and bland. Server was fine and I mean that in the most average and forgettable way. While I understand the restaurant was busy and they can't help noise levels or where we were sat (someone has to sit in that table, right?), I'm most disappointed in the things they could have controlled. Timely, friendly service and well seasoned quality food should be the cornerstones of any good restaurants and Wayfare Tavern displayed neither last night. One other rule I need to remember to live by. ALWAYS check yelp reviews vs. OpenTable. OT consistently has EXTREMELY high reviews that don't always "add up". Wayfare Tavern, for example is a 4.7 stars in over 8,300 reviews, while it only receives 3.9 stars in Yelp with over 4,000 people reviewing it on this platform. Just my opinion but for context I eat out for work 3-4x a weeks all over the country and Wayfare did not come close to a 4.7 star or even a 3.9 star experience.

She was clearly an experienced waitstaff and very nice and friendly to her customers and always with a smile. The kind of person you'd want to take home to meet mom. BFF got the tacos and I ordered the combo beef enchilada + pork tamale. My dish was well seasoned and tasty if a tad salty but the beef was rather dry and the sauce a bit too spicy for my taste. The tamale was perfect. We ate a lot of the crispy thin tortilla chips which seemed bottomless. Hubby ordered the chocolate flan and BFF got the churros with chocolate sauce. The churros are delicious. For weeknights, the restaurant was fully booked, so reservations is a must. A charming little bistro inspired by the Marlowe cows, I'm assuming, managed to stun us with several memorable dishes. The warm deviled eggs were an excellent start. Savory yet delicate enough to not weigh us down right at the beginning of our meal. The horseradish aioli wasn't for me, but I can see its appeal for a certain audience. You give me a Calabrian chili sauce and it's guaranteed to make me happy and this shrimp with sweet corn was no exception. Again, light but a punchy flavor that was enjoyable. I could go on and on about the different dishes we tried but the real standout of the night was the pork tenderloin with chorizo and peaches. The sweetness from the peaches somehow managed to enhance the flavor of the chorizo. This dish gives you a bold, savory and sweet bite all together but still won't have you feeling super heavy. The portion size is perfect. Im hoping to return soon for another exquisite meal.
