Great quick breakfast spot. Good outdoor seating and nice relaxed vibe on clement street. The egg sandwich is so good I love the brioche bun and runny egg. I got the sausage on the sandwich which was not great, just an aidells sausage cut in half but it was crispy. Would probably get bacon next time. The crispy potatoes were amazing. Quick and nice service. To go coffee also a hit.
Eats on Clement is a neighborhood diner with 1970s-style signage and a typeface that feels straight out of Cheers. Weekend lines are long, but tables were turned over faster than expected. It's open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., but closed Tuesdays. The almond pancakes were a standout, with a unique texture, similar to cornmeal and topped with berries. The tostaquiles featured scrambled eggs, avocado, crema, and fried tortillas, with eggs floating on top of a thick pimenton sauce. (Only one of two of us liked that particular dish. To me, the sauce was overpowering.) Parking in the area can be difficult, especially on weekends. Overall, Eats on Clement is a solid sit-down brunch spot. Service started strong and friendly, but our waitress left right at 2 p.m., and we were left to sort out how to settle up at the end of our meal.
This place has SUCH a yummy brunch! 100% recommend the huevos rancheros. If you're getting the strawberry shortcake (which you should!), I'd skip out on the biscuit since it's the same thing. Overall, 100% will be back!
Hubs and I visited on a Monday at around 10am and were seated promptly. After asking for recommendations, hubs ordered the Maitake Scramble with salad. He must've enjoyed as he didn't offer me any. I love biscuits and had to give theirs a try - arrived warm. Crunchy exterior, fluffy interior - good with the butter but would've loved a side of jam given the price. I also decided to try something different and ordered the Curry Chickpea bowl - quite a decent portion size and quite filling. Curry flavor subtle. The vegetables helped to add a depth of flavor. Service was good in that they checked on us often, kept our coffee mugs full, and didn't rush us.

Our food arrived at 1:05 and within a half hour we were more than full and satisfied with our food. My bf got the Two Egg Breakfast: Two eggs and buttered toast with fried potatoes with a side of bacon. We split the Caramelized Custard French Toast: double slice acme sourdough with roasted pink lady apples and whipped crème fraiche for $ with a side of chicken apple sausage.
After sampling a few entrees in the menu, including but not limited to the VADOUVAN CURRY CHICKPEAS, the LOADED FRIED POTATOES, and the EATS BURGER... I can safely say that the star of the show is the dessert items. None of the entrees were bad per se, just a little underwhelming overall. My burger in particular was over-seasoned with the patty being dry and very salty although it was not bad flavor wise altogether... The curry chickpeas were runny and watery texture which was a little off puffing and wasn't the tastiest combination overall. The Loaded Fried Potatoes I really really really wanted to like but I was left with a heaviness that the house made hot sauce couldn't mask. The only thing worthwhile to me and the star of the show is the Strawberry Shortcake which comes with roasted strawberries and whipped creme fraiche as well as slices of kumquat which provide a really nice contrast to everything. It was sooo good and a perfect dish to share or to have on your own!!!

Savory and satisfying. But what's breakfast without pancakes? They call them fluffy here but these are So Much More than that. Tall, tender, subtly sweet with a hint of crispy edges... The Best Pancakes in Town. The chef knows what they're doing. This is my new favorite breakfast in the Bay Area.
Everything was delicious! Came here on a Saturday at 9AM and didn't have to wait for a table. We ordered the potatoes, the tostaquiles, and the french toast to share. The potatoes were soft and both the sauces (the yellow was like a hollandaise) were so good/coated them well. The french toast was my favorite because even thought it was a sweet item it wasn't too sweet or filling. I loved the apples on this so much. The tostaquiles was solid and balanced out the sweet. The place is def small so come early to get a seat. Will return!
Food was so good and exactly what we needed on a Sunday morning. Their almond flour pancake was delicious and so good for being gluten free!

We ordered the Toastaquilles and Fried Egg Sandwich with an egg sunny side up and chorizo. The Toastaquilles was a good portion and delicious, not too spicy. The sandwich was a little messy but so tasty! The chorizo is a patty, so full of flavor! It small but the service was fast so they get you in and out quickly. It's a nice place, typical of small cafes. I would definitely come back as it looks like there's a different menu for lunch!
Thursday, May 15, 2025, 11am: Here for the Avocado Toast. It did not disappoint. Everything on point. -bread actually toasted! -generous portion of ripe avocado -radish slices give a bit of crunch & flavor boost. -seeds, good for you, but a bit heavy handed, drowned out the mild avocado taste. -bacon both crisp & chewy -poached egg made to order -and a serrated steak knife so you can cut the bread! No wait, no laptop encampment, super friendly service. I'll be back. Support Local! -
I returned to Eats 10 years later! We loved the fried chicken sandwich... It was divine! Unfortunately, the maitake mushroom scramble failed to impress, so would not recommend that. Do get the chicken sandwich if you're in the mood for savory and crispy.
Order: Fried egg sandwich with chicken apple sausage: perfect combination of bread, egg, cheese, and argula. Sausage were two links inside of the sandwich Bacon, cheddar, scramble: lots of bacon, spinach, eggs were soft. good balance for all the ingredients Caramelized custard french toast: rich flavors topped with fruits. it was not overly sweet. Accompaniments: fried potatoes with caramelized onions, excellent crisp to them Restaurant is a small place with lots of sunlight. they have inside and outside seating. we got there on a Friday around 9:00, and we didn't have to wait but it became busy around 10:00. Service could be improved. 1-2 staff for the whole restaurant who take your order. Coffee is offered when you sit down and it is $5.00. There was no offer for coffee refill until we asked for the check and in the process of leaving.
If I had a dime for every time in the last 15 years that I've walked by this place and thought, "Man, I should have brunch here," I'd have a few bucks! Well, we finally made it!, and I'm happy to report it was worth the wait. I had the roasted peach biscuit with a side of chicken sausage, and that biscuit was a 10/10. Normally I prefer a more layered, flaky biscuit, and this one was definitely more of a drop-biscuit situation. But WOW, it was not lacking in flavor. Lots of butter might be the secret because this thing was delicious. It was loaded with caramelized peaches and topped with whipped cream. Basically, breakfast dessert -- and I'm not complaining. The chicken sausage was really good, too. A pretty substantial link with a nice little kick of spice. Hubby got the breakfast sandwich, which looked fantastic. It also looked like an absolute disaster to eat. Definitely one of those sandwiches where you just accept that some of it is going to end up on the plate -- but he seemed very happy with it. The food is great at Eats. The chefs outdone themselves this afternoon. We had the cheese burger w/egg $30.50, avocado toast w/salmon $27, summer salad $17 and two eggs & biscuit $21. I love it when simple dishes are done well. One of the best burgers I had. It was messy and stuff was falling out of the sides when I bit into it. That's what a burger is supposed to be. They used blood red tomatoes, butterhead lettuce, cheddar, a juicy patty, thick cut pickles and two slices of smokey bacon. My friends loved their food as well. Service was excellent. I had a wonderful brunch at Eats on Clement Street. The smoked salmon Benedict, mimosa, house coffee, and caramelized toast were all delicious and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and homey, with a lively neighborhood feel. It can be a little noisy, but I still enjoyed my coffee and even found inspiration to write a few songs. The service was excellent. The longtime staff member Hugo, was especially kind, attentive, and very polite. We're remembering when Aila was working back in a day as a waitresses Such a lovely time! You can really feel the warmth and care at Eats, especially when the owner Simon is there. A lovely Clement Street favorite that I'm always happy to return to! read more

5/5 I Know i know I Should Try Something New... But This Omelette Has Me in a Chokehold Listen. I've been coming to Eats for years, and at this point, I've just accepted my fate: I will always order the same exact dish every time I sit down. I walk in thinking, Okay, today I'll try something new, and then the server shows up and suddenly I am like, Actually, I'll have my usual. It's a problem but also not really because this dish is THAT good. The maitake soft scramble / mushroom omelette is truly a masterpiece. Fluffy, soft, savory with that habanero hot sauce drizzle on top that should honestly be illegal. The potatoes are Crispy and golden perfection. The little salad is Fresh enough to make me feel like I am making responsible life choices. And the bread? Don't get me started soft, buttery, and warm like it was baked just for me. Every time I order it, I tell myself, Next time, I'll branch out. Every time, I lie. The staffs are always so friendly, quick and welcoming. The energy in here is just good! Cozy, local and the kind of place you end up returning to way more than you planned. One day, I'll try a different dish ummmm maybe. But until then, I am happily locked into my little brunch routine, and I regret nothing. Highly recommend -- especially my dish. Thank me later. read more

Highly recommended by a friend so stopped by on a Friday morning around 8:45 AM. The restaurant was decently busy but had some open tables. A great place for a solo date because of its sunny neighborhood ambiance; the waitstaff were very attentive and kind, and the service was fast without being rushed. I got the Maitake Soft Scramble, and I highly recommend! The eggs were so soft and the generous amount of goat cheese was creamy and salty. These potatoes were so golden and crispy! They were definitely freshly made, they were still steaming when I got them. The toast was also perfect and great to assemble bites with the scramble on top. Such a comforting meal in such a bright and lovely restaurant, you need to give it a try! read more
My friend and I came here for brunch during our weekend getaway in the city. We were seated within 10 minutes of us joining the waitlist. Since we had the doggie with us, we sat outside, and it was a nice sunny day. Our server was this friendly and funny lady. I don't remember her name, but she was very cool! The food was pretty delish as well. I got the french toast while my friend got some pancakes. Also, I got some fried chicken and potatoes. This was definitely a solid brunch spot. Parking was kind of difficult. We circled around and around and around until we spotted someone leaving. read more
One of my favorite breakfast spots . Every dish I've had has been unique and incredibly delicious with very fresh ingredients. Staff is super efficient, polite and helpful. I also love the atmosphere here it's a really "cute" room with good ambiance. It was my first time here. My fried egg sandwich on brioche was fresh and tasty and I really loved how they used whole leaf lettuce for their salad. The service was pretty good. The place looks nice especially the bathroom hahaha it was filled with bright sunlight from above. The vibe...I'm not sure. The music playing overhead left me kind of sleepy, felt a bit more for an older crowd. I have to try their weekend brunch! read more

I'll start this by saying, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my husband was unsatisfied with his omelette, he said the goat cheese was excessive and turned him off. Other than that the place is very small inside, which as a family of 4 you always got to consider how small a place is. Besides my husbands plate, everything was delicious. THE BEST biscuits and gravy I've ever had! Kids loved their pancakes, they were very large pancakes filled them right up! The coffee was good, just a little cream was all I needed which they accommodated. The waitress helping us was so nice, we watched her keeping up with everyone inside, never felt like we had to wait for her. Great service. I will say, for how small the dining area is their restroom was huge! And CLEAN! Overall a very cute cafe/breakfast spot. They gave the kids crayons and color pages, family friendly and dog friendly. read more

This is my second time ever visiting this brunch place again and they did not disappoint. I came here approximately ~6 years ago with my Mom and got the Maitake Mushroom Scramble, and just today with the Fried Egg Sandwich, apple sausages, and potatoes; and they were both a great balance of flavors. (I suggest ordering the Fried Egg Sandwich with the sausages if you want a sweeter option or with the bacon if you want a saltier one.) The place always seems busy but full of ambiance! read more
I've been eyeing this place. Always a line during farmers market Sunday. Finally got to eat here. I was told four dishes were good and decided on lemon grass chicken sandwich which got marinated daikon and carrots. Love sour stuff. There was a tiny jalapeños bits that surprised me but it was edible. I started scrapping them off. $1 for half salad (fancy, endive greens) and half pan fried potatoes (so good, hard outside, soft inside). Delicious. Took half of sandwich home. I've learned not to stuff myself. That chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful$24 +$1. My eating mate got scrabble eggs with mushroom with goat cheese. She said that was the best scrabble egg she ever had. Woohoo. I tasted it and it was creamy with rosemary but it might be the goat cheese. Her decaf coffee was smooth. It was an enjoyable brunch. The place was noisy. It had inside and outside seats. I watch the other table and they all had a big biscuit with a brand new mini jar of strawberry jam. I was told their house made hot sauce was good for $2 more. I didnt have that but was tempted . A good walk around farmers market ended our meal. read more

Delicious food. While a little more than I would care to pay for, the food is really good, and, based on timing, this place can fill up. Be mindful if you don't live in the immediate area, parking will be limited and will be paid. If you live in SF, this won't surprise you though. Service is decent, although they do get very busy. As to the setting, it's very casual (no frills). I had the citrus salad, which I really enjoyed and was the perfect amount. My wife had the egg sandwich (and salad on the side) while my daughter had the Vadouvan curry chickpeas, which she loved and could barely finish. read more

Very nice, cozy, clean, and well-organized place with fresh food. Service was fast, but I was a bit disappointed because I was told the salmon would be raw, and it came fully cooked with my egg and toast. We also had to ask multiple times for lemon. Parking is very difficult in this area. Overall, still a lovely spot read more

To start off -- I don't like leaving bad reviews and I always try to resolve the issue in person or by reaching out but my email and Instagram messages haven't been responded to and it's been a week and I haven't heard anything. I've been a few times and always had a good experience. My last visit was good until it wasn't. When I went to go pay with the blackbird app, I noticed the charge was $20 dollars more than it should be, so I asked the waiter if he could check on the bill and see if didn't use the promo. He confirmed there should be a promo and went to go check. Another person came out and told me that they don't know why blackbird charged me more but to just call them (which 1. Isn't an option but also the amount is inputted by the restaurant). Then someone came out with my "check" and told me it wasn't their fault but the check didn't have the preset tip applied, so didn't make sense that was my check and 10 minutes later I saw my same order come out and the waiter walk towards me look confused cause I was obviously done eating the same meal and he talked to another waiter and ended up putting the food by the dirty dishes. Which tells me he just printed another receipt to show me and then accidentally put the order through. I kept looking at the bill and nothing made sense cause even without a promo the price was off so I asked if it was possible they charged me someone else's bill and the waiter came out and yelled at me saying they are too busy for this, that they don't have time for all of this. Everyone was looking at me, and he told me he would just void the whole bill I told him that's not what I wanted I just wanted the bill to make sense. He walked away and said he would just void it which I didn't want until he was so rude to me. (The bill also was not voided btw). I never raised my voice. I never asked to speak to a manager all I asked was for someone to actually care that I was overcharged $20. I don't think it's crazy to have someone address or give me a better answer than they don't know or call blackbird when someone overcharged me. I wanted to fix it before I left rather than having to spend time sending emails to get it fixed -- again I don't see that as unreasonable when they can void it on their end (before it fully processes) but the guy acted like I was crazy for wanting them to fix it. Like I truly do not understand how wanting a $20 discrepancy fixed makes me the bad guy, I asked nicely and just wanted some help. It sucks cause I liked this place, but I can't go there anymore and wouldn't recommend it if you have an issue while you're there. read more

Classic brunch spot in the Richmond on the farmers market street. Waited 45 min towards the end of brunch service and took another 20 min for servers to take our order and another 20 for food to come out. Food was solid for an sf brunch place, comparable to sweet maple, surisan and the like. Pretty basic though for the price, $60/2 people with coffees. Would come here again on a weekday or non farmers market day to beat the crowd! read more

Not too busy on a Saturday during brunch hours, maybe because we opted to sit outside. Pros: + Outdoor & patio seating + Heaters for outdoor seating Cons: - Parking might be difficult What I Ordered: + Maitake Soft Scramble (gf); 5/5 3 egg soft scramble, roasted maitake mushrooms, bloomsdale spinach, and goat cheese. served with buttered toast and choice of fried potatoes or salad. i opted to do half potatoes and half salad. they're potatoes are phenomenal, equivalent to Plows!! crispy and not too thick, which i love! i asked for no goat cheese, but i think they forgot. made my stomach a little grumpy, but i was able to avoid most of it and dodged a day of the runs. Perfect for a quick bite before perusing the Clement Street farmers market on Sundays (and it's a prime corner spot for people watching through the window too). We tried the maitake soft scramble (can't go wrong with mushrooms and a nice cheese) and the fluffy pancakes (lived up to their name, simple, soft, and with just the right amount of sweetness from the strawberries and a drizzle of syrup). The food here is straightforward and fresh! read more

They have cute plants lining the interior and around the kitchen Buttermilk Biscuit ($7) - crispy exterior but wasn't anything special. Im eating here right now. I asked for the fluffy pancakes but if they could put the caramel sauce with pink lady apples on top. I just messaged my sibling about it because i feel like ive died and gone to heaven and God remembered that I used to order the rooti tooti fresh and fruty pancakes from ihop so he made that for me for my first breakfast in heaven but a little better because hes like- the almighty and everything he cant just give me regular ihop. read more

Why aren't they open until 3pm? Makes sense at least on the weekends!
Eats is open from 0800 until 2pm. That was as of a week ago. Food was definitely worth getting up early for.
