We had an an incredible time during our night .. Our server Ryan was unbelievable. Best dining experience I've ever had. He was incredibly knowledgeable regarding wine, cocktails, and the food menu. One of the people in my party had a severe nut allergy and unlike other dining experiences, he didn't leave in an ambulance. The cocktails were expertly crafted and surpassed our expectations. We were there on a night when there was a show at MGM and it was more crowded than you would expect on a Monday night. It took around 20 minutes for a waiter to get to us, 20 more to get drinks, and about an hour to get food. The service was not super friendly in addition to being slow. Had a wonderful date night at Eastern Standard! Our waiter, Michael, was funny, knowledgeable, and very warm and personable. The ambiance was classy and swanky. We ordered the roasted half chicken and the steak frites. Both were delicious! They were well seasoned and generous portions. The bread and crudite was a nice starter. Don't skip out on the drinks! We were regulars of this restaurant so was very happy that they reopened. Service is very good and our friends had a very nice time. They enjoyed the experience, and liked their halibut entree. Getting fresh bread with butter and pickles was a nice treat. My only request is that ES consider notching down the salt. My salad greens (with dressing on the side) was swimming in salt. I heard others on our table mentioned their sauces were salty. read more

Recently had the opportunity to have lunch at the "new" Eastern Standard. The squash soup with toasted pepitas was perfect on cold day, or any day! The salmon was delicious and served with an arugula and citrus salad. My husband enjoyed the burger and fries. The bread pudding, a very generous portion was served warm with a caramel sauce and ice cream. We are looking forward to returning for dinner. Sad to say that my time at Eastern Standard didn't live up to what I had heard so much about. From the minute we walked in service was not great. Hosts/Hostesses didn't greet us until we said something and then discussed where to seat us for about 3 minutes without looking up or saying anything to us. Very disconcerting. This extended to our service inside where we were tended to infrequently and also slowly. Finished our whole appetizer and cocktails before ever even being asked if we were ready to order our entrees. Hurt a little more that everyone around us was being very attended to, felt more on the side of choosing who to go after because they'll be bigger spenders. Also a tough one. Food on the other hand was decent. My lumache was honestly delicious and I'm happy I ended up with it even though my first choice of the special was out. Totally happens and is what it is. However my partner's spaghettini was not so great. Came with 3 clams for the whole dish, which in itself is worth a bad note, but the sauce was split and very chunky. Garrett Harker has done it again! He is truly one of the premier restaurant owners in Boston!! The food and service were wonderful and the restaurant is large, comfortable and inviting!! It is a shame there is still all the construction in front of the restaurant which does make it a bit harder to find, but worth going there!! read more

Amazing spot for a group of any size!! The food here is phenomenal, but this place is a must visit for the service. I hosted a seated company luncheon at ESK and it was the most incredible and seamless experience. Kelly and Sophie went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect prix-fixe menu and a generous amount of space for the event. Our server, Ginger, was so knowledgeable and kind to our group, and she perfectly timed out our courses so we did not feel ignored, but also not rushed. This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in the Fenway area in years! read more

We went to Eastern Standard for dinner during the week. The food was very good although the menu could use a few more comfort food options. Our server was very knowledgeable but a bit arrogant. However, the manager was a pro and checked on us and made the experience special. He was also sharp dressed even wearing a bow tie which was great to see these days. Maybe it was my fault for trying to recreate the old Eastern Standard experience however all of the food we ordered was mediocre tasting. Sigh. Two of the three cocktails we ordered were tasty though. I had to always ask for coffee and water refills and the service experience seemed more impersonal. This was early Sunday service too! The "King of Kenmore" is back!!!! Garrett Hacker has re-invented his beloved restaurant in a new location showing Boston he is still a force to be reckoned with. The restaurant is airy and spacious with a modern vibe to it. The signature long bar is full of happy patrons enjoying an array of cocktails a la Jackson Cannon. The menu choices are diverse and will satisfy most everyone's palate from small bites to nibble on to full hearty entrees. The staff are friendly and helpful showing they are happy to be working here too. Of course, Garrett can be seen pitching in and supporting his staff as they efficiently serve eager customers. Food mediocre at best. Waiter sucked. Bar is too loud. Will never go back. Too many other options. Old place was good. Too bad.

Sadly this place is not even close to being on par with the former Eastern Standard. The Niçoise Salad was horrible. Undercooked potatoes, a near lack of seasoning entirely, under-dressed, four wafer thin slices of chewy tuna. It was the worst Niçoise I've ever had. Additionally, the fried eggs on the sandwiches were scrambled, not fried, poured into a mold like they do at Dunkin Donuts. A yellow disc of egg at a price where that is not able to be justified... Just awful! My only negative Yelp review in four years. This place needs a full reboot. Avoid it! read more

Literally CANNOT believe this is Eastern Standard....more like SUB-standard. What happened guys? Sat for a full 15 minutes with nada, nothing - not a glance, a water or any type of service. Not crowded, 8 bartenders, 4 front desk/managers, lots of wait staff. When manager (?) alerted to the situation, waiter comes over with snarky attitude, says he didn't see us, was "too busy". Manager didn't do any better... patronizing us with the ole it's complicated excuse- just terrible. Also the sterile weird environment is lacking - good luck y'all, you're gonna need it. read more

Eastern Standard is always a huge treat!! Our reserved table was ready when we arrived, with quick, attentive and professional service throughout our dinner. We started with perfectly chilled oysters which were the freshest and tastiest we've had since last time we visited ES. Next, we very much enjoyed the generous Lobster Cocktail, what a wonderful appetizer for any special occasion. The Honey Lacquered Long Island Duck Breast was another highlight of our dinner but everything we ordered was amazing! You really can't go wrong with any of their menu items, don't forget to order a few sides, the roasted mini caramelized honey nut squash is a must! Excellent experience. We arrived before opening, seated at bar before table ready. Very professional, friendly bartender. Enjoyed non-alcoholic pomegranate mint cocktail. Every entree perfectly prepared. Short wait-time. Shared one fantastic crème brûlée, 4-spoons. Decor is handsome, spacious, our booth area rather dark. Music too loud, made conversation challenging. Nearby parking garage convenient but very expensive. Friends said Uber driver had trouble finding a drop off. Still close to Fenway, looking forward to patio dining next summer.
