    Grilled Chicken Pita

If you don't want to start an addiction, don't get the Dubai chocolate donuts!! They're SO YUMMY, soft, and warm. A great take on the popular Dubai chocolate trend. My friend and I also shared the cookie. It's like a shortbread cookie, and I would've preferred it warm so the chocolate could melt . I also got their grilled chicken pita wrap, which is a great choice for a casual lunch. My order arrived promptly and the restaurant was kept clean. Would definitely go back!

A nice pit stop for lunch. The Lamb Meatball Pita Sandwich was filling and saucy--I loved the charred eggplant and the garlic yogurt they put in it. The Jodi's Lemonade was a chill way to lead into the afternoon

The Dubai chocolate Greek donuts were soooooo good. DIVINE. Perfectly warm and light and crispy and chocolatey and nutty. Just perfect and addictive.

I did not expect this place to be as good as it was! Will be back. Tje flavors are what make this spectacular. They have ample veggie options and I can't wait to try them all. Tzatziki on the wraps is 10/10. Ambience is Boston-y and a perfect mix between casual bite/takeout type of place and sit down. Service is very fast, counter workers are knowledgeable and friendly, and above all the food is AMAZING

Came back to Saloniki (thanks Deanne for encouraging us to return). And this time we stayed and ate there. The experience vs taking out is different. We placed our orders in front, there are also computers to place orders. Then they give you a number, and a server will come with your food to the table. There are many tables and countertop area to sit. This time we ordered the lamb and grain bowl, this was so delicious! It came with a tomato based sauce and a ton of gigantes beans, my favorite beans! The lamb balls were tender and delicious. Hubby ordered the lamb pita, with fries on the side. He loved it. Glad I came back and gave Saloniki a second try. This time around was much better.

Saloniki Greek is honestly an underrated chain in the Boston area. Came on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, and there was a number of other people around. The space is large and bright, with a variety of seating options for groups of different sizes or individuals just looking for a quick meal. We ordered at the kiosk, grabbed a number, and the employees were quick to bring out our food when it was ready. I got the Peach Lemonade, Braised Pork Pita, and the two of us split the Greek Doughnuts in Caramel & Pistachio for dessert. The texture of the pita was perfect, and the meat and other fillings blended together nicely. The doughnuts came out fresh, and I really enjoyed the crispy outer texture plus the chewiness of the inside. Saloniki hasn't always been my first choice among all the food options in the neighborhood, but after giving it another try, I would definitely come back!

It's been seven years since my first review. It deserves an update. This is my favorite place to go after rage shopping at Target. Or after a late pm doc appt. I no longer live in Quincy so I can take yummy food to go and it doesn't get too cold. The souvlaki chicken pita is our go to. The chicken is perfection. The sauce is flavorgasmic. The pita is great. Heats well in both oven and microwave. I order 2. Hub and I split one for 2 meals. Half of one is a decent amount of food. Fries aren't my favorite but the hubs enjoys. Nicest staff. Love coming! Need to be better at checking in.

Their food was so delicious! The lamb meatballs were soo good! I also got "Jodi's lemonade" I think it was called. So refreshing! My bf got the chicken slouvaki. Also, really good. Definitely going back when I'm in the area.

My Wife and I got the pork and chicken pita which were good but a bit dry. The entrees had sauce but not enough to coat the meat so you would alternate between bites where the meat was dry and bites with no sauce and flavorful bites with sauce. The whipped coffee was strong but good!

I was in the area doing my volunteer work and I really wanted something light but filling. I decided to try tho place and I'm so glad I did! It's on the pricey side but I didn't leave hungry. The salad was exactly how I ordered it and the pita was warm and toasty. I ordered a side of Taziki along with my salad and that made the salad! Would come again and try more items! During the summer months I would love to try their Greek yogurt treats.

I love coming here for a quick meal when I'm craving pita, I haven't been disappointed yet! I often enjoy the crispy chicken pita filled with everything you see on these plates but stuffed into a pita, super filling lunch for when I need it. Today, we decided to get the plate versions of the pita, and it was definitely easier to eat and save for later even if it was more expensive. I have always experienced good and fast service here as well. I highly recommend this spot for a quick and easy meal.

Three months ago, I dropped by this place for a quick bite. I got the souvlaki sandwich and a side of crispy feta puffs. They had some outside tables which was nice during covid times. The souvlaki was a sandwich that consisted of grilled chicken thighs, fries, onions, tomatoes and a mustard sauce. The sandwich was warm and good but I didn't really like the mustard sauce. The crispy feta puffs arrived a bit late after I finished the sandwich. They were crispy and piping hot but the puffs were mostly hollow and had little cheese in it. I did like the spicy honey dipping sauce that came with them.

We ordered the meatballs, the souvla of the day and the salad. Everything was so tasty. You can't go wrong with anything here. The table next to us had the huge sampler which was about $240 but was one of every dish on the menu. This is a perfect choice for six to 8 people. Service was super friendly. They left a large bottle of water on the table, which I love. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Go here! You won't regret it.

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

The best authentic Greek food in the city!…read more Kava is well known for having incredible food, and it hits every time. It can be hard to get a reservation as you can only book up to 24 hours in advance, but we managed to walk in on a Saturday for lunch as a party of two! Located in a beautiful part of South End with some, but not a ton of street parking, the restaurant has a small space decorated with a "sea" theme with ropes and a big painting of a sailor. The food is the main draw, and the highlight is really authentically Greek dishes. We tried the Pantzaria (baked beets), kolokithakia (zucchini chips), kalamarakia tis skaras (grilled calamari), keftedes (Greek meatballs), and horiatiki (tomato/cucumber/feta salad). The highlights were definitively the zucchini chips which were so crunchy with a yummy dipping sauce or the calamari which were seasoned in this yummy caper oil sauce, or the keftedes which were perfectly cooked. The beets were pretty basic unseasoned beets, but I love beets and really enjoyed this as a low-acid side to the other food. Lastly, we tried the Greek coffee which came in little espresso cups and was soooo good, would highly recommend. We also have a severe anaphylactic nut/peanut allergy and they were easily able to accommodate and so knowledgeable! Overall we had an amazing time and will certainly be back.

Got to head over to Kava for a second round today and try some things I did not get around to last…read moretime, so here are my thoughts: The food REMAINS IMPECCABLE. I was obsessed with the octopus last time and it was once again grilled to perfection with excellent acidity. The zucchini chips were delightful (even as someone who hates zucchini's). The feta psiti was a comfort per usual. What blew me away and I was so excited to try was the lamb chops. They were cooked to perfection, the look was closer to a medium-well (we asked for medium) but the meat was still perfectly juicy and spiced. The mousaka was also lovely, I have only had this dish homemade and it certainly held its own... definitely had a homemade feel with a generous meat portion. The Roka salad was also lovely. As far as drinks go, I enjoyed my aperol spritz and my spicy margarita a lot, I especially like the tsipouro having tried it as a shot the first time, but I think if I were to go again, I might go for wine for a more consistent liquor content. Now let's talk about service. I want to preface that certain things would 1000% be overlooked had we reserved for a busier time, but we went in 15 minutes after opening and by the looks of it, there were more than enough servers for the tables filled in the patio. The first time that I tried Kava, part of the excellent experience was our server. They were such a sweet person who really took the time to bond with us, brought us a round on the house, and just checked on us and made sure we were always doing good. Today really lacked that element. As soon as we sat down, the server informed us that they were out of three small plates, which happens, but not 15 minutes after opening as this was the case. Nonetheless, we were able to order a lot of yummy things, so fine. We then asked if it would be possible to angle the umbrella some way or move to a different table so I would be covered from the scorching sun this afternoon, and our server said "just wait ten minutes, the sun will move behind the building..." I understand that I asked for a patio and obviously you cannot control the sun nor the weather, but I just feel like the situation could be handled a little better -- at least a better response. Then, my dad ordered a beer which was completely warm. We asked for another which was luke warm, so then he just asked for a cocktail instead. The server was kind enough to bring a cold beer on the house later, but again, right at open, you kind of expect things to be in order. Overall, our server was just kind of... there, not super attentive nor pleasant. Another thing, I tried to get around the Resy "day before" policy because the reservations for Sunday opened during my graduation ceremony on Saturday and I wanted to make sure I get my table especially as my parents were catching a flight, so I emailed management in advance per the host's instructions upon calling. We went back and forth rather unnecessarily (with very delayed replies on their part), then I got completely ghosted... Not sure why. I was eventually able to get a table by calling the host after my ceremony on Saturday and they were incredibly accommodating, but they also noted that this was a graduation celebration, yet there was no acknowledgment... I had a graduation dinner last year at a different establishment in Boston and our server went beyond to ensure a great experience and even brought out a hand-written card with our check. These details could really really help the Kava experience in my opinion. Finally, the servers bringing out the dishes were completely confused. Almost every single dish was brought to the wrong table before reaching us and we could see them running around the patio with our order... rather unprofessional. Ultimately, it is the service that leads me to dock a star from my previous rating. Had the food not been as consistently fantastic, I definitely would be docking more.
