Dinner delivered! Kabob plate for two.
    Rose S.

We've gotten delivery out to the burbs from Aceituna twice now and it's been AMAZING! Fried cauliflower, potatoes, Greek salad, garlic and spicy sauce, and hummus are staples - MUST. We've done kabob dinner with shrimp and steak, and another time with lamb. Delicious! Highly recommend. Gina is easy to coordinate with, she's the best. Thanks Aceituna for bringing some joy to our house during quarantine! Oh I also recommend the sangria :)

The first time I came here was also the first time I've had Mediterranean food. I was not disappointed. For being a Mediterranean "chipotle" style spot, it's quick, fresh and delicious. Let me tell you, they make the BEST roasted cauliflower and you can tell the hummus is absolutely homemade. I was very impressed. Aceituna Grill has kicked my love for Mediterranean food into high gear and I'm not mad about it one bit. I got the combo beef and lamb shawarma. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I paid the additional to get the tzatziki sauce on top....YUM. My friend got a falafel wrap with tahini (of course I had to have a bite) and it was also super flavorful as well. When I travel to this part of Boston again, you can bet your bottom this will be my go-to lunch spot.

Nice decoration with colorful walls. After I saw the server shaving the Shawarma from the rotating vertical spit, I was excited to try! I tried both the chicken and mixed beef and lamb, it was kind of disappointing as it was too dry with no flavor of the unique seasoning.

Aceituna does it right. I am a regular at the Kendall Square location and was thrilled to hear they opened in 100 Federal. The food is out of this world-- fees, flavorful, and filling. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and there is plenty of seating. This is a great restaurant if you are looking for a relatively quick, healthy, delicious meal. Their house made sauces are amazing and I highly recommend the hot sauce if you're a hot sauce fan. Thank you for opening another location, Aceituna!!

Greek salad plate with falafel, hummus, and tabouleh salad
    Jessi F.

I came here the other day for a quick lunch and ordered a Greek salad plate with falafel and a side of hummus and tabouleh salad. I found the Greek salad to be decent (good amount of crunch) and I enjoyed the falafel. The sides were just OK. The hummus had way too much garlic and tabouleh salad was almost too acidic to eat. The least impressive part of the meal was the pita bread, which was flavorless and difficult to bite into. My meal came out to be around $11. I appreciated the generosity of the portion, but for the price, I'm sure you can find better and bigger nearby.

    Spicy chicken salad plate

I stopped by for lunch today and ordered the salad plate with the Fattoush salad, spicy chicken, baba ganoush, and rice and lentils. The baba ganoush was my favorite part. I could taste the smokiness of the roasted eggplant. The chicken wasn't spicy at all and on the drier side, however, the portion size was great! The pita was flat and hard to chew. It's definitely not as fluffy as some other places in the area. Overall I'd go back for the salad and sides. I do wish the chicken was juicier and the pita fluffier to complete the meal.

Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. All amazing as was the service at the bar!

They were also great about letting me sample things before deciding on a drink! This has been on my list for a really long time, and I had seen Oleana frequently recognized as one of the best restaurants in Boston, so I was pretty excited to finally go. I have to say I wasn't blown away but also not disappointed. The portions were absolutely miniature for the price. The zaatar bread was very fluffy and the spread was flavorful but nothing I would order again. Similarly. The fatteh was one of the most reviewed dishes online. The flavor was unique but ultimately fell a little flat for me (basically tastes like lightly cooked cauliflower with caramelized onions, and a light creamy sauce). I will say the one thing that I felt like really did live up to the hype was the Sultan's delight (short rib)- it was truly so good. I liked the marigold and my glass of wine but the limited liquor license certainly restricts their offerings. Ambiance was nothing too unique. Overall, I would probably give this close to like a 3.9 but rounded up.

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

Given that Mediterranean cuisine is generally pretty accommodating to that, not having even a falafel option for protein certainly came as a surprise! My first time here, we ended up with the fish and chips and baklava - both were edible but not great, and the best item on the table ended up being the complimentary bread (lots of end pieces, which I'm personally a fan of, but others may feel differently). The fish was uninspired and didn't taste like much, and the chips were steak fries, which lived up to the reputation of being less crunchy and seasoned. I was really excited for the baklava, but it also ended up disappointing. The texture was hardened, like it wasn't fresh, and it was so overpoweringly sweet that we couldn't finish it. On my second visit, the bread was just as good, and we ordered a nice spread: fried zucchini, spanakopita, beef dolmades, rice pilaf, and gyro (without meat). The gyro was sad without falafel or any protein option, but the veggies inside were pretty good. On the other hand, I wasn't a huge fan of any of the appetizers/sides. The fried zucchini was incredibly oily and wet, without much flavor; the rice pilaf did have some sauce on top but wasn't particularly tasty. The spanakopita was decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. I will note, however, that the staff was excellent, attentive and accommodating. The outdoor patio was also quite nice and a beautiful spot to sit on the street and people-watch.
