    Doner kabob plate

Ali Baba is AMAZING!!! So happy to have found this spot today. Very friendly and the food is freaking delicious! Started with the baba ghanoush and then had the donor kebab plate. By far some of the best I've ever had. The meat OH the meat! So good! Next time I'm in Boston I'm coming back for sure.

kunefe 5/5 baklava 3.7/5 - a little on the sweet side hummus and bread 4/5 rice pudding 3/5 AMAZING hole in the wall - will have to make this a place I go to regularly. Small place that maybe seats ~30 people. You go in and the server will arrange a table for you or you can just order at the counter to go. I've only been a couple times just for a late-night snack or dessert, but am definitely going to try their mains at some point. They are open late - until 3p each day and the street parking near there is free. There are only a few spots in front of the restaurant to park so if you go during a busy time of day, it could be tricky to find a spot. Seems like a place that is authentic from the other customers that goes there. I originally found this place because I was looking for a spot in Boston where I could get Kunefe and some decent baklava. This place isn't bad! The baklava is on the sweeter side, but not unbearably sweet. I've also quite enjoyed their hummus and bread. You can tell it is made fresh.

I liked their kunafeh, it's a bit crunchy but good. I would reccomend the falafel plate it's less messy than the wrap and you can ask for sauce on the side.

Some of the best Turkish food I've ever had (including food in Türkiyé). They are 100% halal. The atmosphere is very cozy/homey, perfect for a casual dinner out. Despite the restaurant being full and only a single person to manage all the tables as well as the to-go orders, the service was great. We were very well attended to and really enjoyed our evening here. The künefe and the sütlaç were amazing!! Our compliments to the chef. Looking forward to our next visit. Pictured: chicken shish kebab, beef Adana kebab, künefe, sütlaç (rice pudding), and chocolate profiterole.

Nice quaint place. Served was nice but slow service late at night. Ordered chicken Adana kebab. Rice and salad and tomato was delish. The chicken was good. Nice price for the plate.

Have gotten takeout from here several times. I've heard everything is delicious, I've only tried a few things though. The chicken kebab is always juicy, the bread is heavenly (especially when warm and fluffy) and the babaganoush is the best I've ever had- not too acidic or oily. I love it. It's pricey, but this place is so worth it!

Small place (seats 10-15) with an unassuming store front, on a busy/trafficky street. Passed by so many times but never thought to come in, till I came across all the positive reviews and think I should give it a go. Walked in right around noon and found the place empty but with frequent call-ins, then few other trickled in to sit down -- seems like all locals who've been there done that. Settled with a couple spread/dip, a salad, and a mixed grill, with baklava as dessert. Lady in the store was very nice, working nonstop to handle front of house from taking orders to wiping tables down. She was attentive enough to tell us to inform her when we are done with our meal so she would then bring us the dessert. Everything on the plate was simply DELICIOUS. Flavorful spread/dip and rice, meat was tender and yum. Definitely a splurge for lunch for 2, but with the variety of proteins and portion size (had enough leftovers for both), that's actually cheaper than each of us getting a regular plate. Wished I had time to try their coffee. Maybe next visit!

I had the adana kebap, a lamb trip soup. too bad the rice was not the turkish pilav. not sure why in the U.S. most Turkish places use this other type of rice instead. Overall the food was OK. Not in the most happening part of town. There is a decent selection of Turkish dishes, and would be glad to try again.

    Kunefe

I have never had Turkish cuisine before, but this was an amazing first experience! FOOD NOTES: The homemade bread served before dinner is amazing. It comes out nice and warm and has a very thin crispy top outer crust with a soft inside. Cheese pastry roll: I really loved the crispy outer layer and the rich cheesy feta inside! This was served with sliced tomatoes, and eating them together was awesome because the acidity of the tomato complements the rich cheese really well. Lahmajun: This is listed as "Turkish Pizza" but is more like a thin, crispy piece of bread with a meat and spice spread on top! Texture is awesome. Kunefe: This dessert has to be ordered 15 minutes prior to consumption because it takes a bit to arrive! Servers were very clear about this. Very nice crispy outside with cheese filling, the syrup is really tasty (not too sweet!). My absolute favorite dish is the sauteed eggplant! Was not expecting it to be a cold dish but it was AMAZING either way. When eating it, I was like, "man I could eat this all day." Went great paired with the bread or the rice! Restaurant is relatively small and had somewhat slow service when I went (it was later at night, around 9:30pm) which is understandable because the staff seems pretty small.

There was not much flavor to the food. Seemed like everything needed a little more seasoning. But the chicken kabobs were tender and juicy, which was nice. My friend said the falafel tasted like they were store-bought. Prices were reasonable. ~$20 for the chicken kebab plate in the picture (with humus & spicy dip). Street parking wasn't too hard to find on a Monday around noon. The place is pretty small, so it fills up fast.

    Red Lentil Soup
    Alexandria R.

I am a sucker for good Turkish food, especially vegetarian. I got the red lentil soup and boy do I need this in my life. It was nice, thick like potatoe soup, and creamy from the butter. They give you a lemon which skyrockets your taste buds. My partner got chicken Adana wrap and was in love. It was warm, with crisp (not wimpy) vegetables inside, and your choice of sauce. A great on the go meal. Ofc, we had to get the Kunefe! There is only one person who works as server/cashier. So, be patient with how long the order takes. Especially the Kunefe.

We ordered the cheese topokki (soft rice cake, fish cake, vegetable, & mozzarella in Korean spicy sauce) & the beef bulgogi bowl (fried marinated beef, vegetables, steamed rice & side of soup). The cheese topokki was just as good as we remembered - chewy, flavorful, comforting, & a little bit weird. The cheese was poorly distributed, but it was still very tasty. The beef bulgogi bowl was really underwhelming. Firstly, it was very little food. We were promised vegetables, but there were only a few scarce onions & zucchini pieces mixed in. It was also dry. It was devoid of moisture & sauce, so we added some from the fridge at home. The side of soup was a joke. It filled only about 2/3 of the container & looked so sad, we wondered if it was the sauce that we we so desperately needed. Nope, just a meager amount of watered down miso soup. So the conclusion - great topokki, sub-par bulgogi, non-existent soup.

I came here for lunch and ordered the foul al-shams, chicken vegetable stew, and a side of rice. Unfortunately the stew appeared without chicken and foul al-shams was so delayed that we told them to cancel it. The chicken vegetable stew was piping hot and full of flavor. The shredded chicken was tender and the stew did not feel too heavy to feel bogged down. The bread that came with it was also big and crisp but still soft inside. Together the two made a complementary meal that was satisfying. Despite how hard it was to track down our waiter, we still enjoyed the part of the meal we had. The upstairs definitely feels like the waiters are more on top of it and there is a more airy ambiance. Sultan: The lamb was stewed for a long time until incredibly tender and melted in your mouth, with absolutely no gamey taste. Although it's called "sweet lamb", it didn't have a strong sweetness; instead, it had a typical mild, complex flavor of onions, cumin, coriander seeds, and other spices. The Yellow Rice was likely seasoned with turmeric and saffron, making it very flavorful. The basmati rice grains were distinct but not too dry, perfect for mixing with the sauce. The White Garlic Sauce wasn't overpowering; it mainly added a touch of acidity, which, along with the cool, sweet corn, helped to cut through the greasiness. Actually, it was completely different from any other Moroccan lamb stew I've had. It was more like Yemeni Mandi, but with more layers of flavor and a more universally appealing taste.
