Solid bagels. I've had the plain, poppy, pizza and jalapeño and cheese so far. They're all great. Everything is fresh. The BLTCC kicks butt. Staff really make you feel at home here. Super friendly. Cute shop with a few tables inside and some outdoor seating. Ample parking. Come by and visit. Drip coffee is good too. Haven't tried their espresso yet

Toasted Garlic Bagel (cross section)

Check out ECB if you are looking for a tasty bagel and good hot coffee. I got a toasted garlic bagel with a cup of coffee. Nice texture on the bagel. Plenty of garlic on the bagel. The house blend was a nice medium roast. They really keep the coffee hot. In one of my pictures, you can see the steam rising from the coffee. Service was extremely friendly and prompt. No issues on parking since they share the same lot with Target.

the bagels here are unbelievably fresh and delicious. Warm, chewy inside with a perfect crust and clearly made that morning; the everything and plain were both standouts. Staff were friendly, attentive, and moved the line quickly -- excellent customer service. Definitely coming back and highly recommend to anyone craving an honest, great bagel.

Its a place I like to go to for toasted bagels w/ many varities to choose from. Was on a breakfast run before my work shift and its so convenient and cheap. I'm glad I can have an option for my bagel that doesn't involve cream cheese. Coffee on the side is so fresh and that hawaiian hazelnut while walking back smelled so good. The owner talks a little fast for me bc my brain can't process too early lol but his customer service and hospitality towards me was great! Can't wait to come back here again

Scored garlic bagel with lite cream cheese

Was in same plaza for coffee and decided to give this place a try. Was easy to find parking near the front. Inside was spacious and had several seats. Although they were busy, being it was a Sunday in mid morning, the staff was very friendly and my wait to order was not long at all. I ordered the scored garlic begal toasted with lite cream cheese. The only thing that was slightly awkward standing inside to wait on your order, if you don't find a seat to inside. I felt like there was no where to stand without getting in someone's way, and I wouldn't hear my name called if I wait inside. Loved the begal i choose, I love garlic and it had the perfect amount. It was toasted perfectly, so delicious.

Outside seating

Nothing fancy about this place except for fresh, chewy, bagels that are actually boiled. One of my fav bagels in the area!!

Still same old good foods, good folks, and good vibe. I have not been back here for awhile but stoped by since I was next door. Seeing the same folks (I think family runs now) both at register and making the foods. Good old smell of bake goods & coffees and that good vibe every time I go where. The foods are still the same, both taste and the favor. Just the cost went up of course. Glad I stoped by to get my usual thing here.

So friendly, best bagels in town. Plus, great prices and menu options! I loved the East Coast Bagel (egg and cheese) on a salt bagel or scored garlic bagel. Chocolate chip and Cinnamon Sugar bagels are also phenomenal!!!! Bathroom nearby at Target. There is always parking, but you might have to park in the bigger part of the lot instead of the immediate spots in front.

Great service and a welcoming atmosphere. It's quick service and first come, first serve for tables, so you might not get the exact spot you want -- but everything else was excellent. The food was fresh, and my bacon, egg, and cheese on a cheesy jalapeño bagel with cream cheese hit the spot.

I really wanted to like this place, but the prices and quality don't match at all. I spent $22.65 for a simple avocado bagel, and what I received didn't justify the cost in any way. Here's the breakdown for just one bagel: * Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese -- $2.20 * Tomato -- $0.99 * Avocado -- $1.99 * Lemon Pepper -- $0.59 * "Open Face" -- $0.99 (which they said means you get more toppings, but in reality it just came split in half with the same small amount) * Extra Cream Cheese -- $0.99 Subtotal: $7.75 before tax -- yet this small, plain-looking bagel ended up part of a $22.65 total. For that price, I expected something full, fresh, and worth the add-ons -- not two thin halves with a few slices of avocado and tomato. The "open face" upcharge especially felt like a stretch, since the portions didn't reflect what was promised. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately the product didn't match the price. I won't be returning, and I'd recommend checking out another local bagel spot in Long Beach where you actually get what you pay for.

EGG BAGEL & LOX SPREAD

i am a frequent enjoyer of east coast bagel! its my go to treat to reward myself for going to all my classes. unfortunately it has been lacking a little lately in the spread quantity aspect. my go to's are jalapeno or lox spread and with the past few visits i've gotten about 30ish% less spread than i have in the past. i'll try ordering with extra spread next time tho to see if it makes a difference. service is always good even when they're in the middle of the rush, they always offer a good morning and are polite when ringing your order up! my reccs are: onion/plain/egg bagels toasted! also the jalapeno cream cheese has a nice heat to it

XTREME BACON AVOCADO Melt.. Sooooo delicious!

February 2025 I've been coming to this bagel shop for over 10 years. It's very near & dear to my heart :) The bagels are always delicious. My current favorite is the Bacon Avocado Xtreme Melt on an everything bagel. Sooo good! The service is always fast and friendly..

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good option for French-inspired eats in downtown LB…read more The hubby and I decided to stop in for brunch since we were in the area for the World Cup watch party. We'd been here a couple of times before, but only for drinks. The interior is quaint, with pretty typical Francophilic touches (pics of Parisian landmarks, etc). I decided on the Fit crepe, which is a buckwheat crepe filled with spinach and feta. Delicious, but the crepe was a bit dry around the edges. The drip coffee I got was great, however, and the hubby enjoyed his Veggie hash. Friendly service from the two servers, but they seemed a bit stretched--maybe it was more crowded than usual due to the watch party?

Not a super huge fan of French cuisine; however, the menu looked good and mostly reasonable prices. Restaurant is super cute with indoor/outdoor seating. We started off with a bottle of cab (41.00, ouch)! It was noted as a different brand on their menu and they came with a bottle of Josh Cellars which isn't a bad table wine but about 3 times the price! We ended up ordering the fondue for the app (24.00) which comes with bite size pieces of bread and diced apples. It was ok, a little too runny and had an interesting hint of beer flavor. Next up we both ordered the brie & prosciutto sandwich which came with a side of au gratin and greens. The sandwich was excellent but the potatoes were cold. We ended our meal sharing creme brulee for dessert. It was good but also served cold. Total bill incl tip: 163.00 bucks (double ouch)! Overall, meal and service was good, but I would forego the wine on a future visit as it was way overpriced for the brand we got as well as the cheese fondue. Will definitely be back though. Very comfy and charming atmosphere.

This is the key place for girl dinner. We ordered the chicken pot pie appetizer, cauliflower bites, and pumpkin ravioli. All were delicious. Our server, Danny, was perfect. He didn't make us feel rushed, made sure our drinks were always full, and even suggested a dessert for us to try ( which we loved). He wasn't pushy, it was like a pal making honest suggestions.

The staff is incredibly friendly - there was a server named Isabelle who was super bubbly and honestly made the night. Not listed, but I did have the Horchata cocktail and that was pretty good. I also had another drink, but I don't recall what the name was (that is the one that's pictured). I do think this one was better... as far as the food goes it's certainly OK. The price is just a little steep for what you are getting especially drink size/quality wise. Fortunately, when I have been twice this year, the line has been mostly nonexistent, but normally I've seen the line wrapped around the building and it can be a pretty hefty wait considering it's walk-ins only after 4:30 PM. Overall, I will be back, purely based off of the decor and the incredible service. I do think that the drinks and food portion need a little bit more love considering this is a location already exists and is not necessarily a "pop-up" and at the end of the day, it is advertised as a restaurant/cocktail bar and not just an "experience". Considering I'm a local I'm more likely to come back, but I do think that the restaurant does rely more so on the decor than it does the items it serves. I would give the food and drinks a 3/5 whereas the love & dedication in decor, and service really bumped it up to at least one more "star" for the overall review.

I got it with braised short rib ugh ABSOLUTE chefs kiss! The chips I could tell were made in house, the short rib was perfectly tender/seasoned, & the egg was perfectly runny. My boyfriend's Avocado Toast was also really good & the avocado was like whipped & fluffy which he loved. AND the Millionaire Bacon WOW she was a thick body & the perfect balance of sweet & savory! Oh lord it didn't even stop there... Dani was so sweet she literally brought us the cheese bread out just to try it AND the guava/passionfruit mousse. I never expected to find stellar cocktails and wings inside of a hotel, but you truly never know…read more Let's start with the cocktails; they are KILLING it. The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

He went into the kitchen for fresh berries, muddled them with Tito's and soda, and made a genuinely refreshing summertime drink that helped with the heat...! I eventually ordered the Crispy Shrimp & Calamari to eat as my main (I was dining alone). I had recently had a very notable version of the same dish at a Canopy by Hilton in Washington DC, and unfortunately, this one did not measure up. The breading was average and the sweet chili aioli was poor. I asked for ranch instead, which was an improvement but still not great. The portion itself was fine. Service was solid and friendly! I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood.

Whether you're going for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, The Attic is one of those places that just has something special about it. They've got an outdoor patio, an indoor-outdoor patio, and a completely indoor dining area. Every space has its own personality. It's one of the most unique, eclectic restaurants you'll find in Long Beach. And if you love cornbread, oh my God, you have to try theirs! It's warm, buttery, served with honey, and absolutely delicious. I'm telling you, it's worth going just for the cornbread. The breakfasts are great. The lunches are great. The food across the board is fantastic. The bartenders are great. The menu has plenty of variety, and the whole place just has this incredible vibe. Imagine trying to find the restaurant with the biggest personality on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. That's basically The Attic. There's a certain energy to this place that's hard to describe. It's the same way Palm Springs has its own energy, or Melrose Avenue has a certain feeling you can't quite replicate anywhere else. The Attic has that kind of magic. And the best part? The food actually lives up to the atmosphere. The menu doesn't disappoint, the service is great, and the entire experience feels like something you won't find anywhere else. To me, The Attic represents Long Beach in every possible way. Because that's what makes Long Beach special, right? We're not Orange County. We're not Los Angeles. We're Long Beach. We have our own personality, our own culture, and our own energy. We're a little eclectic, a little unexpected, and completely ourselves. And that's exactly the kind of experience you'll find at The Attic.

Having visited The Attic many years ago, I was excited to return, but this visit was…read moredisappointing--not because of the food itself, but because of poor communication, inattention to detail, and weak customer service. I ordered the vegan sandwich, advertised with a vegan patty, kale, avocado, vegan egg, and bread. I requested a lettuce wrap instead of bread and added tomatoes. After an exceptionally long wait, while nearly everyone else at my table had received their meals, mine arrived missing the tomatoes, vegan egg, avocado, and lettuce wrap. It was essentially a vegan patty on arugula, despite costing approximately $20. Mistakes happen, especially when restaurants are busy or ingredients are unavailable. The problem was the lack of proactive communication. The restaurant apparently had no iceberg lettuce and could only offer arugula, which would have been fine if someone had told me beforehand. The same applies to the missing ingredients; instead, I had to discover each omission myself. The avocado was brought out only after I asked about it, by which point the delayed meal had become frustrating. I eventually requested complimentary fries--not because I wanted something free, but because a gesture of goodwill seemed appropriate. Good hospitality isn't about never making mistakes; it's about how a restaurant responds. Offering alternatives, communicating shortages, adjusting the bill, or providing a small complimentary item can show customers that their experience matters. The Attic has been a recognizable Long Beach establishment for years, making this decline especially disappointing. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect honesty, reasonable communication, and an effort to make things right. I didn't mind paying $20 for a thoughtfully prepared vegan meal; I minded paying $20 for a vegan patty and arugula while repeatedly advocating for the ingredients that were supposed to come with it. Sadly, after many years of remembering The Attic fondly, this experience may have cost them a loyal patron.
