I think these people are awesome humans. They run a tight ship, but they're always friendly and accommodating nonetheless, especially given the fact that they're so busy. They installed a hitch on our Honda, replaced a part under warranty about a year later without any questions or hassles, all quickly and efficiently. Superb service. read more

I required a rear hitch replaced on my 2011 Chev pickup and the job was done very quickly. I took a trip to the Okanagan and noticed that the instrument panel was showing that there was a dead short and that the alternator was discharging. Thus as a result of consultation with a mechanic. ,replaced the alternator however this problem was not rectified., and a second alternator was replaced. I took a second trip to E & H Hitch and I noticed some dark colors of what to appeared to be a burn on the frame at the location of where the hitch was installed. This was surfaced to an employee however he denied using a torch to remove any of the four rusted bolts and even commented that he was surprised that the bolts came off easily. He did not use any testing equipment and was doing a visual check on the wire connections and was only too quick to recommend another business who were known to him to do electrical inspections and repair however upon my attendance they were booked solid and had no openings. The wiring harness obviously has a dead short causing a discharge on the alternator causing the gage to fall back to 12 volts from the near 15 volts of operation. In conclusion, there were no previous electrical problems on this vehicle. The cost factor of having two BC Ferry ridings., and paying technicians 150.00 dollars an hour and alternator replacements is really hard to swallow. I believe that a photo taken prior to the mechanics involved would have provided more information on the repair. Recommendations NIL.. You be the judge! I must admit that the service counter was staffed with a very dedicated individual. read more

I can't say enough about the great customer service and quality of the work done. We needed some troubleshooting afterwards and Rob went out of his way to accommodate us. read more

I had a great experience at this shop today. I have a 1990 Mitsubishi Delica which needed a hitch, they were quick to do a custom one and they did a great job at a fair price. Rob was very honest and fair with the way he does business. Very appreciated in a world where most people sugar coat and try to manipulate to get a sale. He took us in a day early, even though they had a busy schedule to accommodate for the fact that we needed to get out of town. The hitch looks awesome! If you're looking for an awesome new hitch, this is the place to go. read more

It was a pleasure to deal with Rob and Josh at E H Hitch this morning. I was leaving for a trip to the Kootenays the next day and noticed the lights on my camper were not working.I phoned Rob and was told to bring it right in.To keep it short I was fixed and ready to go in record time even though we had to get one of the parts ordered in. I have had some hitches installed on my vehicles in the past but didn't realize how many other services they provide. I would recommend this company to everyone as they go the extra mile to keep your happy. As I said previously "A pleasure to deal with" read more

The owner gives really great customer service, he installed a ball on a hitch assembly for us - good man

My wife and I have dealt with E & H for years - but the service *WAS* always mediocre. Not ANYMORE! Chris and Rob have definitely kicked things up a few notches this past year. Gone are the dusty bins of old stock. Now there is a complete showroom of common hitch and trailer components, and despite being busy, the service is always friendly and attentive. On two recent occasions I had some work done. Fifth wheel rails and a trailer brake for my pickup and a new suspension system for my boat trailer. I was quoted a surprising good price and reasonable timeline for the work done - only to be called earlier than anticipated, with the work completed thoroughly and on budget (if only our government was so good LoL). They even fixed up a few minor issues that were not on the work order (a loose nut here, a blown fuse there).. To me, this is sign of a new professionalism, that, like me is 'old school'. I would absolutely and highly recommend Chris and Rob (and the shop crew) to anyone needing hitch or trailer work done. Well done. R & A Lambert read more

Needed a hitch installed, after a few calls these guys were the only ones to mention I needed to flash the wiring at the dealer for it to work. Rob was very helpful and knowledgeable, recommended. read more

I had my first hitch installed yesterday, during one of the busiest times to get a hitch! While I waited, I saw the owner and his staff busting their butts to try and accommodate as many people as possible; and all the while, treating customers with great respect. When I ended up being a bit longer than expected, they made that up to me as well. I was super impressed by these guys! read more

What was to be a simple brake inspection(which worked great) and bearing repack turned into 4 days from hell -Day 1; was told entire braking system needed to be replaced including surge coupler, paid over $1000.00 for a single axle drum brake system upon arriving home the passenger wheel is smoking and the axle temp hotter than 250' plus one bearing buddy fell off. -Day 2; returned first thing to have it looked at, when questioning the requirement to replace the surge controller and the competence of the mechanic who installed the brakes and bearing buddy, I was told that if I didn't like it to take my business elsewhere by Chris. Rob said to come back in the afternoon and he would fix it up, returning home that day the drivers side is smoking hot and my old coupler had been re-installed saying they had made a mistake and credited me $400. when I contacted Rob he said to take it to their Langley shop as they were out of ideas. -Day 3; Dropped it at the Langley shop and picked it up in the afternoon, Lars said it was all fixed, he removed the old coupler and properly cleaned it, installed new pistons and properly bled and adjusted the brakes, I got home and BOTH brakes were hot and smoking. -Day 4; Returned to Langley the next morning, it was determined that both drums/backing plates had manufacturing defects (what are the odds?, or maybe they were installed backwards?) replaced with generic drums not the free backing I had originally, got home and passenger side is hot, returned to Langley and re-bled and re-adjusted again, returned home and they seem OK. Four days of my time, 400km travelling, and more than $600.00 for grabby, warmish brakes that I have to jab a screwdriver into the controller anytime I want to back up, really..... I called Rob looking for compensation for my experience and for a trailer that performed worse than when I brought it in, he scoffed and tore a strip off me. I told him I was going to write a review and he said if I wrote anything he didn't agree with he would "come after me with guns blazing" read more

I brought my 2008 ML550 in to have a hitch and electrical connections done. I had spoken to them on the phone, described in detail the make model and options involved since I had looked on-line and hadn't found an after market hitch to fit. I was assured they had one in stock, I again stressed the options (air-ride) involved and was told they have it, and maybe if there was some additional fabrications involved they would get it done. I booked the appointment for first thing in the morning and dropped off the vehicle. 5 hours later I called and was told they could not fit the trailer hitch, there were no after market hitches available and on Mercedes had one. BUT they said they had done the hitch wiring. Disappointed I went in to pick up the vehicle at 4:30PM. I looked under the vehicle to see where they had routed the wiring only to find no wiring. I then opened the back up to find 4' of wires, wrapped in electrical tape, squeezing out from between the left side storage cover and lying across the inside of the cargo compartment. I went in and asked why the wiring wasn't done to a factory level and was told that was better for corrosion, and when I wanted to hook on my trailer I just had to pull out the wire and close the rear door over it. We then walked out after I voiced my complete and utter displeasure and opened the side cover that the had routed the wires beside only to have the whole cover and storage compartment fall off into the cargo compartment. The wires had the simple .05 blue clip on splicers attaching them to the factory wiring and the whole thing looked like a child of 5 had done it, there was nothing neat, tidy, clean or visually pleasant about it. I know something about auto wiring and given the hours they had to do the job I easily would have done a better job. They agreed to remove it completely which they did. Of course now my rear parking sensors don't work but I will have that attended to by someone else. My issue isn't that they couldn't install the hitch or do a proper job on the wiring, my issue is that they said they could and instead of telling me they weren't experienced with my type or model of vehicle and stopping, they went ahead anyway and ended up doing harm to the operations of it. I'm not sure if this Surrey location has a new owner, but I brought vehicles in here 10 years ago and always was pleased with the result. Maybe my standards were lower then. But if you have a vehicle that you don't really care about the aesthetics and only want function, these guys will do it.....maybe. But if you're looking for a factory like installation with hidden wires and soldered connections I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. read more
