Too much degraded service then i first came here. I dont know why but when a business grows they become better but these guys service is gone poor. Food quality is deteorated n seating is too small . I guess they have better take out service . Never ever i have started on a negative note but this was impulsive. Anyhow the reality is still thr same . When we entered their was no greeting or welcome smile. Infact the ladies had no clue about what to ask or say. After asking to them , we found out that there is no table available so we oulf need to wait. No worries! Why not after all we will get good food. To my disappointment, we got the table in next halaf an hr n we were the first in line. (Less tables to accommodate people) i dont knoe if thats how they are on other weekdays as well but sunday evening was aweful. They need to learn how to take order n how to plce food in the plate. No serving garnish or presentation skill at all. Mess when serving doesn't please me. Few good things here. U can get alcohol with dosa atleast i am sure they serve beer. Oh lovely chicken n prawn dosa . I tried chicken which was nice . I mean only if the chicken was shredded n cooked in authentice vibdaloo sauce , it would be better. My husband is a big fan of dosa so we stopped by this place while we were in Surrey. Frankly speaking, the dosa we ordered was average but the masala lamb curry was great. The dosa was crispy and flavorful but there's just something less. Perhaps it's the cheese - we get a full load of mozzarella cheese in the cheese dosa at other place but not here. I often find myself eating at Krishnas Dosa Grill with my Mum when we feel like going for some authentic food served up tasty and timely. Although I do commend Krishnas on their service, generally speaking, and fast food-rollouts most of the time, I can't help but only find myself able to give them a 3*. When sitting in a booth, as we often do, the heat from the western sun permeates the all-glass wall next to your seat making for an uncomfortably warm and radiated environment. On a hot day, avoid the booths or window seats, if you don't like and/or can't take the summer heat. On a cooler day? This isn't an issue. As for the food, you really can't go wrong with their Dosa Platter, that gives you a standard dosa, idly, vada, and some sauces to go with, all for around 12$. It's not that the food doesn't taste good; far from it. It's always a decent bite and the flavours are one point, whether you order it mild, medium, or spicy hot. The concern comes in with that recently raced up "speed". Once or twice when we've gone in, the food has come out quicker than we've had a chance to settle in, with some portions of food being cut up or previously "handled", with the reason being that "someone cancelled an order so it was being reinstated for our meal". Read: "This isn't fresh, it's being reconstituted for you". When my Mum has spoken up the rare time this happens about the issue, she's been told that certain items are "not fresh, just being microwaved anyways", as though this should dispel any concerns about the quality or origin of the food... All considered, the staff are friendly, the food is quick to the table, and tastes pretty okay. But any place that re-serves food or cuts cost by placing the business loss on the unsuspecting customer isn't worthy of a higher rating in my book. I would have rated a 4*, as I do often find myself going back for a well-priced and satisfying meal, but I do go in with the expectation and preparation for those occasions where I'm re-served someone else's cancelled order. read more

Great cafe for authentic south indian food. Tried idli sambhar. Three fresh and hot idlis were served with 2 chutney which were which were both flavorful. Sambhar was perfect with right consistency. Regarding the check-in offer: The server said they couldn't honour our check-in (yelp advertised a free dosa and vada plate if you check in using your phone) because it was a long weekend. This didn't make sense to me as there were no restrictions stated on the check-in offer. It just seemed like they didn't want to honour it, which is unfortunate. Our table ordered the lamb palak dosa and the gunpowder masala dosa. The food was generally good, but the potato in the dosa was a bit overcooked - more like mashed potatoes almost. The tomato chutney was also lacking flavour. I found the spices milder than what I am used to at other dosa places. I have no idea why supersulkan would only give one star this is a very good place with delicious Dosa. They serve it with delicious sauces and Lentil soup and a generous amount of Lamb filling. I have been here half a dozen times in the last year and a half and I always have the same server who is very polite and takes the order quickly and the food comes quickly. My wife and I are frequent to this restaurant on weekends because there are good high quality of most different foods on the menu at the restaurant. The waiter (Murugan) is very good friendly, humble and simple person. We tried out other Tamil restaurants in Vancouver and Surrey but they have decent tastes and average quality. Pro- Good High Quality for foods on the menu Con- Poor Environment such as old TV systems, tables, chairs and wall. Not recommended when you want to experience the true south indian food. It has been customized to the Canadian palate . My review is too taste oriented because i respect food for its taste and not presentation and creativity. Dosa batter is not fermented and not enough salt in it. The Gobi 65 we ordered was too oily and crunch of cauliflower was missing. Sambar is made of moong dhal which is burnt and its too sour for a tiffin sambhar. I would say its more of a Puli Kuzhambu rather than to be termed as sambhar. A humble request to the restaurant owners : Imagine what will happen if you are running the place with same taste and quality in your hometown in india. We always try Dosas here and it's always good. But on 20th March on my Bday I was craving some real South Indian food . So we ordered chic 65, chettinad chic curry and Biryani. The food was bad, stale, reheated and we had food poisoning When we came back home. The place is really unhygienic , washrooms are filthy dirty . if there is a zero star i would give it. We were a group of 7 including 2 kids all tired from a day trip to Whistler. Gobi 65 was under cooked, Gobi manchurian was so soggy and full of ketchup, there was no salt in the dosas or vada but excess salt on the sambhar. Chutney is full of.......the waitress completely goofed up our orders and this made the chef very nervous and he took it out on the owner.. poor lady she needs more management skills! the cutlery never came so did the napkins on top it when we asked for it the waitress told us that she is busy enough to attend to our needs! stay away from this place .... a very bad experience read more

Honestly would not even give it 1 star, this place is so dirty and not welcoming at all. The server was just plain rude. Even the manager/owner at the front was worst to deal with. They have the dirtiest looking glasses I have ever seen!!! I don't even want to know how the plates looked like because we had to leave this place and only paid for the coke that they gave us in a can! but not even complaining about that since it was still better than their glasses. We went to try this place because I really love dosas, and the reviews on Yelp were great. We were not disappointed. We had Mysore Masala dosa & some veggie pakora. Both were good. The service was good It took a while for the dosa to come, not in a 'poor service' type of way, but in a 'your food is being freshly made-to-order' way. I really enjoyed my meal here and will definitely be back in the near future.
