Most all the food we were served was barely above room temperature, except my sweet potato. We tried twice to get a server to get "hot" fries. We were given menu's by one server, our order taken by another, the food was delivered by another and when the replacement fries arrived...so did another server...Met the entire staff except management. We love the brisket. We get it to go, a pound for $13.00 feeds the family, using our own rolls. As for eating in I have never had a bad experience as mentioned in some of the other reviews. Until they had brisket the sliced pork was easily my favorite. The beef never tasted like much of anything, and the chicken, like many BBQ places, could be dry. My daughter loves the pulled pork. For a lunch that's a little different, if you are in Ormond try the old GAFFs down on Nova just north of Hand (don't know the new name, something "Quality Meats"). It's a meat store but they barbeque and it's very good, and very low priced. GAFFS used to BBQ only on weekends, but these new guys have it every day, I think. read more

Worst experience I've ever had here. We ordered some corn nuggets with our drinks. They never came. When our food came out, the pulled pork was lukewarm at best and the macaroni and cheese was dried out. Had to search the restaurant for our own sauces and a salt shaker, since the waitress didn't come back to check on us once. Horrible food. Horrible service. Had to go to the counter to even get our check and even then, no customer service, no apology, they continued to talk amongst themselves. Good job, Dustin's. We'll never be back. read more

This is a perfect place for Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. I ordered the baby back ribs which were dry, overcooked and nearly meatless. They did not taste smoked at all. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that these ribs were baked in an oven. Coleslaw was bland and baked beans could have been canned. The waitress was nice and replaced my ribs with the St Louis ribs. These were better, but nothing great. My wife had the salad bar, the croutons were soggy, and the macaroni salad was bland. It was an entirely underwhelming experience. read more

Dustin's is about as good as Florida bbq gets as far as i can tell. I do prefer yankee bbq, you know yankee like in Georgia or NC. When I say bbq i mean pork. Sorry to you beef cookers. BBQ is Pork. Ordered 70$ worth of food and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and the care in packaging. I ordered through Uber Eats so I asked for extra bbq sauce in the memo, and I was so surprised that I got plenty of sauce, butter for the corn, ketchup for the fries, salt/pepper, utensils and even ranch that I didn't ask for but my kids happily ate. Thinking of changing my mind on my original choice of Appxxxxxx I turned into the lot and to my surprise handicap parking was ample and an empty spot was available... Mind you this was just 1 pm. Wife and I seated and server was quick to our table,we made our selections and with salad bar included to our meals... Suddenly our table filled with food items. Pulling off I-95 South from up North ,it took only a few minutes to reach the restaurant. It's clean and bright inside, service was quick. I had the salad bar and ordered the extra chicken which was good on top of my salad. The salad bar was ok, it was fresh but if you want soup then they charge you an extra $ 1.59 which almost every salad bar I ate at they had free soup. So if you are tired, headed North or South do stop in and the burger's are good too. read more

The salad bar is very fresh and well maintained. My son loves their sliced pork sandwich. The food is always hot and fresh.

Typical cookie cutter BBq joint ,foods not bad not over priced and usally served quick. really like there sauces even though now you have to ask for them. we go there quite a bit for lunch usally dont go for dinner as the prices are higher. read more

When you first walk in the smell of the food is amazing and the restaurant is very clean. The service was fast and excellent. The salad bar was good with your typical food for salad bar. If your short though very hard to reach items in the back since it's deep and high. If you get the soup and salad combos you get everything. If you just get the salad bar with your meal at an extra 2.99 you need to.pay another 1.99 for the soup. Found thay kind of ridiculous. The BBQ was very good. The chicken and meat was moist. We took food to go after a full day at Disney. We got a pulled pork sandwhich, a steak burger and for our 9 year old, chicken fingers. All was very decent although our daughter complained about the number of chicken fingers. But, really.... It was a perfect amount of food for her. The HOT sauce was good with the pulled pork. We have been eating at Dustin"s in Edgewater ever since they first opened. We live in Indiana and come down every year and eat at Dustin's every day we are there. We like the Jumbo Sliced Pork Sandwich the best, but have tried many items. My husband LOVES their baked beans and I am in love with their sweet BBQ sauce !!!!! I am always telling people to try it if they are coming to the area. We talk about them all year waiting for our trip to come so we can eat here again !!!!! BBQ sauce has too much vinegar, that's all you taste. Their mustard sauce is ok at best. Service was slow even though it was a very light crowd. Never disappoints great bbq imo. Great family atmosphere with a great and attentive staff. Decent selection of draft beer. I know people are elitist when it comes to all genres of food but especially bbq. All the dishes I've tried have been great. You have the choice of slathering 5 distinctly different but equally tasty sauces. The meat (pork or chicken) is always tender and moist so elitist can bring their own super secret award winning sauce and still have an enjoyable meal. I ordered the jerk chicken wings first no taste I had to dump BBQ and hot sauce on them and the wings were VERY tiny. Then when I went to pay for my meal the lady was not that friendly when she handed me the receipt she barely said thank you like I was putting her out. As I was putting away my receipt another guest came up and the lady said hi how was your meal?? And then thanked her for her business. Something I did not get. Sad because I LOVE the food but won't be back after tonight. Went for the kids eat free dinner I heard about on Volusia County Moms and was sadly declined at the register when asking about it. Apparently the "adult dinner" you have to buy for the offer only means a few things on the menu. However, I GET THAT ! My meal was the same thing just PUT ON BREAD which makes it a "sandwich" which doesn't count. According to the girls at the front it would've been a better deal to do it the other way and we would've gotten more food too .. but no one told us that and they wouldn't rectify the issue either. read more

My girlfriend and I were visiting Ormond and decided on Dustins spontaneously, I've never been. So we seat ourselves and are greeted pretty quick. The restaurant got 3/5 stars from me for more than a few reasons. Amber our server had no people skills whatsoever. I simply asked for a pulled pork sandwich on Texas toast, with a few sides. She sat there and looked at me and chuckled while asking "Do you mean you want the lunch sandwich"? Like I didn't specify or something. Whatever. the backs of the booth seats are too close to the party behind you, the hot and sweet sauces on the table aren't labeled, and personally too damn bright. The beans and macaroni were EXTREMELY hot but wasn't steaming, so it was obviously microwaved. Amazing pulled pork sandwich though. read more

In reading the previous reviews, man these people must be the "hate everything" types.. Have been eating at Dustins BBQ since we moved from California to Florida in 2006 and always a great visit. Salad Bar is great for a BBQ place and the smoked BBQ meats and sauces are wonderful.. Have had Dustins BBQ cater numerous family functions and all my LARGE family just rave about their food. Their bbq beans beat out Sony's any day and love the coleslaw as it is not a mayonnaise mess like other joints.. The dieters plates, where you can have salad bar and a choice of meats is a favorite as well, when we are not wanting a huge meal. The staff are always friendly, efficient and top notch.. read more

We lived in Memphis for ten years and frequented Neely's Interstate Barbeque (ranked # 1 in the country by USA Today), Corkies Barbeque, Rendevous Barbeque, as well as Jim and Nicks. Given those quality restaurants, we find Dustin's to be second tier at best in all aspects. It may suffice in Florida, but once you've attended The World Championship of Barbeque every May in Memphis, your taste buds only appreciate Barbeque at its best. We recognize we are spoiled, but once you have eaten the best for a decade, you cannot lower your standards. read more

Had lunch today and it was good. Service was fair. Had to ask for refills and extra plate for salad bar. Perhaps I'm spoiled but seems most servers work hard to do things without being asked or reminded. Had the salad bar with my meal and the selection was ample and food was fresh and cold. Resturant was clean. We've eaten at Sonnys BBQ and they are very similar except for the BBQ sauces. Not that Dustins was bad but will visit Sonnys next time as not blown away at Dustins. read more

This was a pleasant surprise. The outside looked inviting so we went in. the inside was a western style basic design. They had an all you can eat salad bar, that was well stocked with fresh ingredients. I had BBQ Chicken and my wife had BBQ Ribs. They were nice portions and cooked the way we like them prepared. I've eaten at this location often and have gotten the "family feast" numerous times. But, I ordered the family feast last night for my grandson's birthday dinner in Umatila. Unfortunately, all of the food was not there, I called the restaurant this morning and spoke to the manager, who was very rude and was told that I should of called last night, I tried to explain to her that it was not open by the time we discovered that it wasn't all there. She can keep her side of sliced beef. There has been too many occasions that I've ordered take out and something is wrong with it. I'll either go to Barney's or Sonny's for now on. read more

Has great pork sandwiches. Very tender and we love their sweet BBQ sauce. Service is usually great and also fast. Super if you have kids. Our only gripe is the layout and the seating-- the restaurant is very open, so it can be loud, and the bench seating is so far from the table so it can be hard to eat. We prefer booths, it is more comfortable for us. But it's fine if you just want a quick sandwich on the run. read more
