I typically come here in the mornings and almost everyday its like the morning staff does not want to be there and finds it inconvenient they have to serve you. 9/10 I pull up to the window and I just get "hi.." I was disappointed in their customer service, but enjoyed the food. Today I stopped by this evening and Mikey helped me. He was SO kind at the window and I even had to tell him that was the first time someone here was nice. Mikey was kind and polite. Memories, sweet memories of the east. DD played a key role, acting as a staple of sustenance both late and early during college - the sugar and caffeine are recalled fondly. This location is always friendly and the coffee is always good - and the munchkins are as I remembered it. Not more to ask for the DD. This store is the worst. This morning I waited for a full 8.5 minutes before even being greeted. The gentleman in front of me said he had been there almost 15 minutes. This isn't a one off. The store is understaffed and for the most part, poorly staffed. 5 people in line, an empty drive thru and a girl stood just wiping a clean counter ignoring everyone. I would like to exclude the one staff member who was hustling. Drea was covering for her clearly slow moving, confused counter cleaning coworker. Unfortunately that meant the waiting customers suffered. While I prefer the donuts at KD's, I am pretty keen on this place while heading to work at 4:30am. The staff is super friendly, especially considering 4:30am should not be a real time. The coffee is pretty consistent and the breakfast sandwiches are pretty good. The hash browns do taste somewhat like they have been cooked in the same oil as everything else so if you don't mind them tasting more like... whatever they cooked last, play some breakfast roulette and grab a meal before work and a big cup of caffeine. read more

As a native Bostonian, it's a tough break to live in San Diego without three beloved foods I have to fly home to enjoy: Authentic Chinese Food, Papa Ginos, and Dunkin Donuts. We've been here twice. It's fine. It's too far away from most of us East Coast transplants who live in SD, but beggars can't be choosers. I was disappointed that their flavored coffee is an after-the-fact thing now with "flavor shots", because it does taste different. But I checked in with my people from home and they confirmed that this is how DD is doing it now. I don't get it, because they still sell the flavored coffee by the pound, but none of this is the fault of this particular store. The shot just makes it taste fake. New Englanders always question why DD is so damn good, because it's so simple. The coffee is nothing fancy, but it's addicting. The doughnuts are nothing exotic, but they're simple and good. I appreciate them so much more since moving here because I don't like the doughnuts the local shops have to offer. They're boring. They seem plastic. Can't get a chocolate glazed doughnut to save your life. But as far as their coffee goes, I always theorized that the flavor is steeped into the machines. Thousands, if not millions of runs through those things have given it that same homegrown appeal as the old school pizza places who have had the same dough starter for over a century, and just keep taking new chunks from it, adding to it, etc. I hope business becomes good enough that they open more and more DDs in SD, because based on the reviews, as it stands I'd rather go the 40 minute drive to Ramona than brave the downtown location. Frustrated because I love their avocado toast, but every time I go there is a mistake with my order. This time the avocado TOAST was not toasted at all... so just soggy bread. No extra bacon like requested and the bacon I did get was not cooked all the way...disappointing! read more

First off - if there's a better place to find coffee in Ramona, I haven't seen it. DD still makes the best quick-serve coffee of any of the chains. This particular location really helps break up any journeys out to Ramona because let's be honest, that isn't the most exciting drive going to and from San Diego. This spot is truly a divine action! We were in a rush, so went with a very simple order of two coffees and two Boston Creams, and everything was on par with what we'd expect from DD. It's really too bad there aren't more of these around San Diego. It's always nice to see a business that fills orders so fast, there's no need to write a name on a cup. read more

They always seem to forget the drinks. This is the third time I've had to consciously eat my donut slowly for the drink to catch up. Today, it took my husband to go back to the cashier for them to remember to make our drinks. I don't think they have a system when it comes to drinks. As a New England native, I'm so glad that a Dunkies opened in Ramona. I've been going just about every morning to get my iced coffee before going to work. Occasionally I'll get my favorite Boston Cream donut. Trick to getting the best donuts is to get them in the morning. I've tried other donut shops such as Winchell's and they don't compare to Dunkies. Anyway, the morning crew are great. They know my coffee right off and I'm in and out in a snap. I do admit that the afternoon crew can do a bit better (which is why I only knock off a star). But a little patience does go a long way. In the end, this Bostonian chick leaves happy. read more

So I'm a yum yum donut freak. I can't stand Dunkin donuts now because of ramonas failure. Their donuts are tiny, they don't even have traditional donuts. Had to drive all the way from Poway to Ramona to get some good ole DD. In the Midwest, there are DDs everywhere, but not in SD. The donuts are obviously made very far away and shipped in to be left getting hard on the shelves. To top it off they allow dogs to sit on the patio. Yes, it was crowded. Yes, the donut selection went really fast. It was Saturday...I expected that. The Hubs got a croissant donut, the 2 little monsters got cheesecake donuts and I got a choco butternut donut. All of them were amazing!!! The cashiers were rushed, but super friendly. I sadly drove all the way here to have my east coast experience again. Growing up in Jersey I had Dunkin' Donuts everywhere. Now I have to travel 30 miles. And it was so disappointing. Luckily my babies napped the entire way otherwise I would have been in hell. The only good thing about this place is that it has a drive thru. The donuts were stale tasting. The coffee was so disgusting I could have made Folger's at home and it would have tasted better. And I hate Folger's. I was so sad I went all the way for this. Oh my goodness. The smell alone when you walk in will make you gain 5 pounds - HA!! I went in on a Saturday around 10am & there were about 5 people in line ahead of me, the drive thru had about 4 cars so they were pretty busy. The line moved slowly only because the customers, the staff was doing a great job moving people through. I had a brownie batter donut which was such a chocolaty treat!!! And I also had a butter pecan iced coffee. Considering I still had an hour drive to get home & had already driven an hour on crappy sleep, this coffee really hit the spot! Every time I go thru the drive thru, there is a maintenance crew trimming trees and bushes at least 3 times a week, no big deal till one of the workers was working in the actual drive thru, in front of my car. I placed my order, then was told to move forward, I could not because the maintenance guy was taking his time trimming bushes blocking my path thru the drivethru. Is it really necessary to trim the bushes multiple times a week during peak business hours. Brought it to the managers attention, somehow its my fault, because thats there job. Wont be coming back. If I could rate this a zero,I would. I only had one problem on my donut run, and it was the customer service. The assistant manager,Alice, was UNBELIEVABLY rude and cranky. I went in early in the morning, as I was on my way to work and they had just opened I believe an hour before I showed up. I asked for a French Cruller. A single French Cruller. It seemed like she truly did not care. The first THREE crullers she picked up ended up on the floor due to her being clumsy. The fourth and thankfully the final cruller she picked up she was successfully able to put the donut where it belongs...in the bag. Then,I had a little laugh after she decided to make one of her employees clean up her own mess. As I was walking out of the store with my cruller in the bag, I hear that same lady,Alice, yell "OH MY GOD" in a depressing tone...almost sounded like a cry. Did she really get THAT upset over dropping a couple of donuts? She had a "feel bad for me" attitude and she seemed like she couldn't give less of a shit if she got fired. All in all... 1. Customer Service was not a good experience at all. 2. The French Cruller was surprisingly good. 3. I created my first Yelp Account simply for someone to see this. I used to like go here since it was the only Dunkin in San Diego. (Before they opened I could only get Dunkin when I flew back to the East Coast) Lately every single time I come they mess up my order/give me someone else's order even when I order through the app. I went there last week and the door was cracked open and we were able to get in but their oven was broken and they couldn't prepare any food so we left. We must have shut the door on the way out because when other customers tried to get in all the doors were locked. They lost about 7 customers because their doors were locked during business hours. Sorry to say this Dunkin would not survive on the East Coast, since those dunkin's are always busy and people there expect to get food when they go there. Save yourself a trip and go to the Mira Mesa Dunkin's they just opened up and actually get the order correct and read it back to you. read more

Ok, I love dunkin donuts,so this is a biased review. I mean, I used to make my in laws ship me cases of the k-cups since they weren't available in my area. And now we have a real dunkin donuts right here in our town! And it's a drive through! Life isn't perfect at DD - they've messed up my annoyingly complicated espresso orders more than once, but they always make good and fix it. They also occasionally forget to put cheese on the sausage croissant, but again they fix it as soon as the error is figured out. Prices are good, food is consistently yummy and that's about all you can ask for from a fast food joint. read more

Whenever I go to dunkin donuts, I feel like it's a treat because the closest location to me is this one, although it's like 20 miles away. I go to this location every once in while, and as much as I like it because it is the only one I am able to go to, I recognize that the service isn't always the best. During my last experience, I ordered iced coffee and a donut, but after I waited for the coffee they forgot to give me my donut so I had to wait until they were done with the next customer to remind them of my missing donut. I've noticed too that they don't always honor coupons on the app. But either way, I gotta say that amongst my love of iced coffee, they are in the top 2 for me. read more
