Dunkin' Donuts is usually considered a treat for me, especially when I travel. When I found out there was a Dunkin' Donuts in the East Bay, I had to check it out. This location is kind of tucked away within a plaza, not the best location for this spot. There is free parking available, with several accessible parking spots up front. Inside, the place was generally clean and has plenty of indoor seating. This location has a self-order kiosk, front desk kiosk, and mobile pick up orders. I came after noon on a Sunday and they only had 1 chocolate covered donut left, which the worker said this was the last one (basically implying there weren't anymore coming, but he was wrong). Fast forward to eating the donut, it tasted dry and not fresh - a big disappointment. I also ordered the 6pc hash browns, a croissant breakfast sandwich, and another donut. The only thing that tasted good were the hash browns. The sandwich was burnt and overcooked! Why the 2-star review? The service was not top notch. The front house staff looked like he didn't want to be there, was on his phone, and was basically checked out. The other team members preparing orders did not do well too. One couple before me had their breakfast re-done at least 3 times, and in the end made my order come out later. The quality control for their food line is lacking and needs to improve. Since ownership changed sometime this year, the quality and service has really gone down hill. I used to come here 1-2 times a month but took a break. Started trying them out again and things have very obviously changed. First off, the quality of the donuts has noticeabley degraded. What used to be soft and fluffy donuts are now hard and dry, similar in texture to stale white bread. I recently tried some of the crueller donuts and it was literally the worst donut I've ever had. I ended up throwing the the other two away because they were practically inedible. The service and professionalism has also taken a hit. 70% of the time the employees are in regular street clothes with no DD branding which is a bit odd. I'm talking sweatpants and a hoodie, tank top and jeans, etc. On top of that, they seem to be "hiding" in the back most of the time just talking. I usually have to get their attention and even then they seem hesitant to come help. Used to love this place but the obvious change of ownership has really taken it's toll. read more

Excited for a DD coffee this morning. I had one the other day on the east coast that was soooo good. I was let down hard. The coffee is weak and doesn't at all taste like what I'm used to from DD. The harsh brown was soggy and not crispy. I was surprised to see that the shop wasn't crowded like it has been in the past. I don't come often but it felt empty and cold compared to past visits. We also added some Munchkins and a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese sandwich. Overall, the food was very good. That said, I do want to offer some honest feedback about the customer service experience. While I believe the staff are doing their best, there seems to be a lack of proper training and coordination. On several visits, I've witnessed employees openly arguing with one another about helping customers and each other. One specific young woman (today 5/11) stands out--not for her service, unfortunately, but because she often raises her voice at coworkers, customers, and even delivery personnel from services like DoorDash. There also doesn't appear to be a smooth system in place for managing orders. When the store gets busy, it feels quite chaotic and becomes dysfunction junction. This morning, for example, the employee at the counter seemed overwhelmed and was shouting at guests to use the kiosk, saying things like, "We're too busy to take your order--use the kiosk." She was also dismissive when customers asked questions, though she would sometimes answer questions directed at others. This location has a lot of potential. It gets steady business, and with the right staffing and a focus on customer service training, it could really thrive. This place had such bad and slow service. I can't believe 3 people had to take care of one customer about a complaint for an Ubereats order. Plus the counter is so dirty. Right now, there is a stack of paper towels just sitting on the counter while the dispenser is empty. Ioaded the paper towel dispenser myself because it is so sloppy. There are 4 customers waiting in line. There are three staff, one is slowly making coffee while two are in the kitchen. The floor is also dirty, pieces of paper lying around. This store floor has not been mopped this morning. It can't be this dirty this early as most customers pick coffee to go. Customers who came after me are being served. There is no one packing donuts while one person is packing donuts and making coffee. Why are there two people in the kitchen? If this continues I'm not coming anymore. read more

I'm a regular here and really love the iced latte drinks. It's always clean and the employees are friendly. I order on the app and pick up and I've never had to wait. My ONLY complaint is that occasionally my drink is made with regular cow's milk rather than the oatmilk I specify, which gives me the runs ALL FREAKING DAY. I think it's one gal that doesn't pay attention. The only way to ensure it doesn't happen would be to order in person and watch them make it. It was disappointing coming to this location there were only 2 girls left there to fend for multiple walk in orders and online orders. Gave this location another try and yet again disappointed. This store needs more training. I walk in and it was so many people waiting in line just to order and nobody in sight. The pick up ordered wasn't even place in the correct spot. The guy in the back didn't even peak up front to greet or say he'd be out in a minute or anything. All the seats in the store was on the table so you can't even sit inside. The entire store was dirty. But to my drinks I asked for light ice and they both was filled almost extra ice and on top of that the matcha tasted nothing like matcha. I get this order all the time and it taste spoiled. Maybe the milk was old but I had to throw it away bc it was sour! Paying almost $9 for a drink just to have to throw it away is wasteful. Before anything, the employees here are THE BEST! Their care, kindness, and love for their customers and fellow employees were very apparent. One of the employees were learning and two other employees came to help and give him advice. They were so sweet and caring to him. You can tell it's a close group of people working there.
