I didn't think that dumplings could taste this bad but I was wrong. Ordered four dumpling dishes and they were all terrible. The filling had no taste. The wrapper was hard and chewy like rubber. We ended up not eating most of our food and left. Also, the customer service was just as bad as the food. Definitely NOT the best dumpling in Dallas. I have been on a dumpling kick lately and Dumpling House was a must try. We ordered a few items and here are the result Pan fried pork and scallion dumplings. There were 10 of them and they were absolutely delicious! Newt up was some kind:of beef and onion dish which my husband said was really good! I ordered rice noodle with vegetables, medium heat. The plate was HUGE! It was just the right amount of heat and cooked perfectly. I also ordered a pot of shrimp wonton soup. Very nice, tasty. Can't wait to go back. I ordered take out many times from here. Good : House Boa buns are excellent- juicy and fluffy. The marinade beef tendon is excellent - cut thinly and soft and chewy. Bad: Spicy Pork in Garlic Sauce (魚香肉絲) Pork was not fresh, meat tasted bad. This is a very basic Chinese dish hard to mess up but their version is not edible. The sauce is too sweet, not spicy, no flavor. Full of stringy celery. The Braised Tofu in Casserole is not braised but just watery clear broth with pieces of tofu and Chinese cabbage and mushrooms- no braised flavor. Nothing casserole (砂鍋) about it at all. read more

I came here with a group of friends for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially the soup dumplings. Plenty of vegetarian friendly options as well. Took off one star because they had their thermostat set very high, and it was over 100 degrees that day. We were all sweating and uncomfortable by the end of our meal. read more

We got the Golden Garlic Beef Stir Fry and an order of the Pork and Cabbage Buns. We also ordered a bowl of their Hot and Sour soup. The stir fry was very tasty, and the beef was nice and tender. it had an abundance of garlic cloves and black pepper. Was not overpowering by any means! Just good! The buns were very tasty and had a good amount of filling. The hot and sour soup was somewhat disappointing. There wasn't much black fungus and I didn't see any lily buds in ours. I don't remember seeing much in the way of mushrooms in it either. I will have to order it again to make sure. The other thing was that it was somewhat sour, but could have used some more vinegar and white pepper. read more

Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in Chili Sauce. Actually no spicy. And I could find sugar and other seasonings on the beef. A very sweet plate even with Chili in name. Do: House dumpling(bao zi). I think they are handmade. I dip dumplings into a mixed chili and vinegar sauce. This is my own unique way to eat dumplings. If u are getting boring with eating plain steam dumplings. Ordered lunch here for the office. No one loved their food and no one hated it. I personally ate most of mine but darn sure didn't finish it. Egg roll was meh only took one bite, the lunch special soup only took one sip. I didn't hate it but wouldn't waste my lunch going back. Sucks cause I really wanted to like this place. read more

First time here. Came around 12pm on a Sunday. Ordered combination Lo Mein, Walnut Shrimp, Pork Shrimp Dumplings, and Soup Dumplings (not on menu). Lo Mein was flavorful, not too salty, and meat was tender. Walnut shrimp is served in a crunchy bowl and flavor is also good. Soup dumplings are AMAZING: super big, do not stick, so you get ALL the delicious soup in. We got the Pork Shrimp Dumplings fried, and they were also amazing: even though they were fried, they still have soup inside. Overall, would definitely recommend, will definitely be coming back, and will be bring people with us. read more

Ordered Shrimp Wonton soup, Pork & Shrimp dumplings, and Signature Boiled dumplings. First the soup was completely flavorless. It literally tasted like water with some oil on top. No salt or spices just void of any flavor. I'm sure the oil was supposed to be fragrant oil but it wasn't. It was just oily. The shrimp wontons in the soup were decent and at least had some salt. The Shrimp and Pork dumplings again had very little flavor. Some salt would have at least given them something. Totally boring. The Signature Boiled dumplings were very pleasant and that's the only reason this got 2 stars. I absolutely love dumplings and eat them very often. I couldn't recommend this restaurant. What a hidden little gem in Plano! We got the pork and shrimp dumplings which were huge and very flavorful. A bit pricy but they're larger than normal. You can probably split an order as an appetizer with one other person. The menu is quite extensive, as it has different types of noodles, rice dishes, stir fry etc. They serve a bunch of different hot teas here just like at dim sum. The only negative thing I have to say is that they don't have Soup dumplings (Xaio Long Bao). But, other than that they have some of the best dumplings in the area! We've been here several times with groups, and have never been disappointed! The service has always been exemplary, and the food authentic! I don't write many reviews anymore but had to write this one. We really enjoy the jalapeño lo mein and their other dishes/dumplings are great too. So we order take out one night and bring the food home. Happens to be that they gave us just regular chicken lo mein. So I call the restaurant to let them know not thinking they could really do anything at this point. Instead they asked for my address and delivered a fresh jalepeno noodle to my house. I love this place so much that I named my dog after one of their foods (not kidding). They have the best dumplings and pork buns, and beef noodle soup and green onion pancakes! The server looked at myself and daughter approximately 4 times and continued trying to appear busy, we waited another 10 minutes before another worker appearing to be the owner said "Hello." I replied "We would like to place a to go order." While I was ordering the owner failed to answer any questions I had concerning the menu and appeared uninterested. Following this while returning my change he passively aggressively placed it on the table and told me the amount and walked away. Dumpling House has the best dumplings I've ever eaten! They are all handmade and delicious. I love their steamed dumplings the best. You really can't go wrong with any order. It usually takes me two orders to be content, but some days I'm sure three orders would be ideal. And this is where it can get pricey. Sure, each dumpling is handmade and delicious, so it's hard to complain about price, but $30+ for me to fill up on dumplings is a little out of my budget. Figured that'd be worth noting before heading in. I've also had the beef noodle soup, which I also enjoyed very much (just not as much as the dumplings!). I'd say the broth has less of a beefy flavor than you'd expect, and more of a soy sauce and vinegar base, which is still great. One of the servers seems to like me. She always compares me to other diners, "I thought you'd be able to eat more. See that man over there, he finished four orders of dumplings!". Go here. It is a must stop for all dumpling lovers. I have to give this 5 stars for authenticity. Usually I eat at chinese restaurants and feel bloated and react badly to whatever sodium is in the food. This is not the case at dumpling house From the green onions pancakes, pork buns with brith inside, walnut shrimp(picture),asparagus garlic dish for you healthy nuts, sesame chicken, flat rice noodle with beef, wontons, we loved it!! The dumplings are probably as good as it gets in North Texas. Don't get me wrong, they're very good, the shrimp/pork and chicken/mushroom dumplings were 2-bite steamed or fried morsels of rice dough and protein shaped into little purses. An order consists of 10 dumplings and could not be mixed, so we had to order 3 kinds and of course, there were way too much dumplings. The dumplings didn't fall apart, their sides were perfectly pressed and sealed together. The shell was the right amount of doughy elasticity, the fillings were just the right bite sized amount. With our dinner, an order of string-bean chicken was brought to the table. the beans were just the right amount of garlic and spice, and most importantly, not over cooked (yay!). So.... haven't been here for a while. Recently I've been having cravings for their ghobili buns and meat pancakes. These buns were the best I'd ever eaten, and the meat pancakes magical. The wife had noodles on her mind, and she remembered theee's here as being pretty good. And there you have it.... our order. So, I find out that it's new ownership, but the buns and pancakes are the same, and the soup is even better. That's a good thing. Yum. Can't wait. So, first up the noodle soup WTF..... reeaaallyyyy? The meat chunks are like half a steak, and very tough. The vegetables look like they were cooked and left overnight, and the noodles were horrible. And to top that off, there was no soup at all. I've ordered dry noodles that have that much. How is this better? So, the ghobili buns come out.... and my wife says, "they're not Ghobili buns anymore. It's a proprietary name, and they have to be made properly".... huuuhhhh. I specifically asked about Ghobili, and they said exactly the same. They are not the same. The flavor of the filling seems similar, bit the outside seemed thicker, and dryer. Also, not as moist overall. These are good, but not great. Now the meat pancakes.... definitely not the same. Too much of some spice, and the flavor/texture are off. Oh well. Definitely won't be returning. read more
