We used to love going to Dumpling House because the food was good. If you ever try to order takeout, be aware that they stop taking orders 30-45 before they say they're closing. This is now the 3rd time we have called/placed an online order and were told they will not make our food. Should we call earlier- I guess. But I guess they also don't want our business which is always a minimum of $75 order. Also, whoever answered the phone hung up on my husband. After reading more recient reviews, I see that others are also having the same problems. There are plenty of other Chinese restaurants with great food and much better customer service. read more

We've enjoyed this place for many years. However, recent experiences ordering online have not been uplifting. Although you provide your name, credit card information, mobile phone number, and email, they can't locate your order when you arrive because you don't have the order number that was not sent to you. Your chastise to get the order number. They were probably 250 Asian restaurants between my home and this restaurant. We've spent thousands of dollars here. If I'm gonna have to go to so much trouble after spending a small fortune for this food, I'll spend it somewhere closer where the service is able to keep track of my order without making me go through a disciplinary revenue as a customer because they don't capture and report the information that we are required to enter to complete our order online. OMG. This place is incredible! Their offerings are off the chart. They have the standard Chinese food that many people eat, but they also have the amazing buns!!!!! We ordered way too much, but we had plenty to take home. We also had combination lo mein for Ss and Gs. The people were very nice. But the food was sooooo good. We ate so much, and we went back twice more in the next week!!! Ahhhh!!! Also to note: I checked out their Facebook after dinner. Their social media person is very good at their job. Unfortunately, I had pretty bad luck with receiving good service when I checked this place out. When we first entered, the waitress pointed to a table in the back corner. She asked for hot or iced water and we ordered iced water. After waiting 20 minutes, another man came by and took our order and we had to mention our waters again. The food made up our inattentive introduction to this place. It was very authentic and tasty. Our favorite was the vegetable fried rice! However, our soup dumplings order came out literally 20 minutes we were done with the fried rice, hot and sour soup, and pork dumplings. We had thought there was a mistake since the waitress (who NEVER came to check up on us) gave us our check WITH the order of soup dumplings. When we told her this, she said she would check the kitchen and we finally got our dish after waiting another 10 minutes. I understand they may have been shorthanded in the dining area, but seeing other tables who came in before us get served with food and being checked on was pretty frustrating. Who doesn't love dumplings!? This place is a great change of pace if you're wanting good Chinese food, but don't want to wait for a table at dim sum. The best part of dim sum is the dumplings anyway! They're currently offering limited dine-in and take out. Unsure about delivery or curbside, since I didn't see anyone providing those services. I wish there had been a little more social distancing since the tables seemed a little too close together, but the staff did the best they could with the limited space and were quick to clean & sanitize tables. My boyfriend and I shared the pork & chives dumplings, the house special buns, and the scallion pancake! It was WAY too much food for the both of us (and the waitress was even like, are you sure?) so make sure to come HUNGRY if you're wanting to get food here. You get 8 pieces per order and they're not small! I love that! The scallion pancake was SO good and for $5, it was literally a steal. It was so crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside! I could have eaten four more of those if there weren't 16 dumplings staring at me... The pork & chives was TO DIE for. We got them steamed, and they were so good. The filling was so flavorful and the skin just melts in your mouth! 10/10 would absolutely recommend. I liked the house special buns, but they weren't as impressive as the dumplings. We got the buns steamed as well, but I'm thinking they probably would have been better if we got them crispy, since it would have given it more texture. The filling inside was good! I would just have preferred 10 more of the pork & chives dumplings. It also comes with dumpling sauce, which is literally the best dumpling sauce I've ever had. Our waitress was so nice and our food came out so quickly! She even gave us our own chili oil and told us to eat what we could, and to take the rest home (very impressed with this method to minimize exposure). This place has been on my wish list for years and I'm glad that finally went there. Food was super tasty and quick to come out IF your orders reaches to the kitchen. Unfortunately service was not fantastic. I saw an older auntie that was the only person who was serving on Thursday night. She seemed so behind amount of her duties. My husband and I were abandoned for 30 minutes at the table. But I know everywhere you go nowadays have shortage of staff or supplies so I understand so that's why I put 4 stars here. This is more of a 4.5 star review. I came here on a Sunday during lunch with my mom and we were seated immediately. Customers kept coming so they definitely have good business but I don't think anyone had to wait for a table while we were there. We ordered the basa fish dumplings fried and the goubuli buns steamed. We also ordered the dry fried string beans with minced pork and the stewed beef noodle soup. The string beans are definitely one of the best I've ever had. Super fresh, crispy and not too salty. The stewed beef noodle soup was delicious! The meat was incredibly tender and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The goubuli buns reminded me of my childhood and were so fluffy. My favorite dish though was the basa fish dumplings. I have had my fair share of dumplings but this was the best I've ever had! The dumplings were fried perfectly with that golden bottom and the filling was absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend these dumplings! The only reason why I would take off a half star is because this place is a bit pricey compared to other Chinese restaurants. read more

This dumpling place opened not too long ago and it's tucked inside the northwest corner of Parker and 75 near Bavarian grill. To be honest, i think 75% of the cars in the lot belong to customers at Dumpling House. When you arrive make sure you write your name on the clipboard because there's probably a wait. Or at least every time that I've went which was a weekend lunch. Approx 20-40 min wait. It's a decent sized place. More well put together than Noodle House and cleaner. The first time I went our food all came out within 20 minutes after ordering which was super fast being that the place was full. It was all super yummy. Buns and dumplings are offered in both steamed and fried being that fried is a dollar more (which seems stupid to me; guess it pays for the oil) Appetizer: Fried Squid - just the right amount of seasoning and the batter wasn't too thick. Entree: Goubuli bun (steamed) they can't do the fried version yet. They're sized pretty well and oh so delicious stuffed with meat and veggies Chicken and mushroom dumplings (fried) which were divine!! They're fresh and hot and a good size. They're juicy inside, so it's almost like the small juicy dumplings, which they don't have. You can make your own sauce using some vinegar, soy sauce, and chili sauce. Green onion pancake : soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. You can dip this in that sauce mentioned above as well. Beef tendon noodle soup: good for a cold day. The soup base is on fleek. Plentiful amount of noodles and beef. You can also share this bowl as well, so that way you can try all of the other stuff. Some little quirks like any new restaurant, but not bad enough to keep me away!! It'll be a while before I go back to noodle house. read more

I was first introduced to this place when my boss came into town, and ordered lunch for me from here. I have been hooked and eaten from here a couple of times since. Today, I placed an order online for pickup on my way home because I was craving this place and needed to treat myself after a long week. I work in Frisco, live in Garland, and this place is in Plano - so... it's a nice stop on my way home. I took a bite of my scallion pancakes, and they were awesome! Then, I bit into my cabbage buns, and to my horror - they had pork! I have been a vegetarian for 22 years, and eating meat at this point could make me seriously ill. Well, I was already at home in Garland, and called the restaurant to see what they could do to help me. They suggested I go back to the restaurant and they could remake them for me. I told them I just made the 25 minute trip back home and didn't want to make the 25 minute trip back. So, I was at a stalemate.... Then (to my surprise), they asked for my address. After providing it, they said they will deliver my order in 45 minutes! They actually delivered the cabbage buns to me - 19 miles away! Now, I'm a corporate trainer for customer service, and I know when I have been given top notch service. This level of service was epic! I get it... sometimes we make mistakes, but how we handle those mistakes is what determines our character. I will continue to be a strong supporter of this business, and I wish them the best of karma for their amazing actions! read more

Our server even packed up sauces for our leftover food, I think this is something that can often be overlooked at a restaurant. The good: We walked in an hour before they closed and order a ton of dishes so I'm giving them 3 stars for their stellar understanding service they gave. Sadly, most of the dishes we ordered didn't have much flavor. The signature steam buns were good and flavorful. The shrimp and pork dumplings were good. The sauce to dip them in was good. The not so good: Now let's break down the letdowns: the chicken/corn soup is good if you're sick and you need something bland. So it's got that going for it. I ordered the meatball casserole and was given the streaky pork casserole. Sadly, the most flavorful thing in that was somehow the cabbage. We also ordered both the red bean and the custard buns for dessert. Both tasted mostly like buns and severely watered down flavored filling. I LOVE red bean everything so I was really disappointed about that. Everything just seemed watered down...we even ordered rose tea and that lacked flavor. Almost just tasted like warm water (and we let it sit for over 15 minutes before pouring). We ordered a few other dishes but I can't even remember which ones, so that goes to show how memorable they were. Server was great though, she was super patient with us! So thank you for that! Who doesn't like a good dumpling? The menu is huge here- they have a variety of baos, dumplings (steamed and fried), and other dishes not dumpling related. Generally everything is family style, consisting of large portions for everyone to share. I tried their house buns, bok choy, green onion pancakes, pork and shrimp steamed dumplings, and pork and cabbage dumplings. Their house buns are tasty. The dough is soft and chewy and the meat inside is piping hot and flavorful. Looking through their menu, it doesn't look like they have a bbq pork bao, if they did, I'd be all over that. Bok choy was cooked well, it was the healthiest thing I had that evening. Green onion pancakes were large, fried crisp, and had that chewy middle that was full of flavor. The dumplings were large, larger than most places. You get 8 in a serving and they come out hot. Dumplings were good overall, the dough was a good consistency and the insides were cooked well. I think most of the stuff is made to order, so the stuff made in a pan came out first, the stuff that required steaming came out last. Service is so-so. During drink orders, once he heard two people say "water", he took off without listening to others, who actually wanted soda. Then the refills for water were non-existent unless you asked, just FYI. Portions are huge; I think our buns came in order of 8. This isn't the small portion dim sum many of us are use to. This is like family size portions! We had the steamed buns, walnut shrimp, chicken and lettuce wraps, spring rolls, wonton soup, onion pancakes, and another kind of bun (w pork and shrimp). Overall food was good but I wasn't knocked off my socks. When our steamed buns came out, it was so hot it fell apart when we tried to pick it up. The honey walnut shrimp was much smaller portion than we imagined and it was $16! The onion pancakes weren't thin like I'm use to, they were quite thick and "doughy". Service was spotty. Good at times but lacking in others. Really disappointed that they were out of XLB (Xiao Long Bao), but they took our order and never brought it out. Once we inquired about it they then informed us they were out. 30 minutes after taking the original order. Dumplings were great, Shen Jian Bao was also very good. The beef noodle soup lacked flavor and spice but was decent. Overall not bad but not having XLB and telling us that you did when we ordered makes this a 3/5 experience. read more

I've eaten at this place about 6-8 times in the past 3 years, and I've already had my yelp review removed by the owner before due to "violating terms of service" since I discussed my parent's experience instead of mine in one of my reviews. We received drink refills and really timely check ins with our waiter. Our waiter was really patient when we were deciding what to order. I was able to have a 45 minute dinner with my friend. WITH A NON-ASIAN FRIEND. MY VISIT TODAY: My most recent visit was with my parents today and it was terrible. A couple of HUGE misses: 1) I ordered the exact same dish (house signature Sheng Jian Bao) from yesterday and the quality was significantly worse. The flavor was bland, there was no soup, and it was under-fried. Often times, the meat is raw and not cooked (they've had this problem for many years and refuse to address it - it's been inconsistent) This has happened probably 40% of the time I've eaten here, and half the time, the staff angrily grab the plate and recook it a bit longer without an apology. The other times, depending on who I'm seated with, they're apologetic and have comped us a dish before. 2) We were rushed out within 10 minutes of us receiving our food. The waiter gave us 6 take out boxes when we were just having our first bite. When my dad kindly noted that to the waiter, she snapped at us "well fine, we'll just take the leftover take out boxes! I always give everyone a bunch". The table next to us was asked how many take out boxes they wanted and she only gave one... 3) 5 minutes later after handing us the take out boxes, She handed us the check. I was on my 2nd bun. My friend recommended me this place and after looking at their menu online and spotting lots of vegetarian options, I decided to give it a try! It's in an odd location, you can't see it from the streets so you just gotta trust the Google Maps!! My friend and I ordered four things total- green onion pancakes, string beans minus the pork, hot and sour soup, and a tofu clay pot. The green onion pancakes were amazing- a good size portion and unlike a lot of places, they actually put A LOT of green onions inside. The hot and sour soup was good too- lots of stuff inside, however I do wish it was spicy. It also did come out warm and not hot like soup should be. The string beans were my favorite- so flavorful!!! And the tofu clay pot reminded me of a small hot pot- it came with glass noodles, woodear mushroom, shiitake mushroom, taro, napa cabbage, and soft tofu! The flavor was very light, but I loved the abundance of stuff they put inside. The portions were pretty large considering the price. Four things for $30 is pretty good (and I had leftovers!) Next time, I'm definitely going to try their dumplings. They have a few vegetarian options... so I'm excited to try them! read more

We also got the fried custard for dessert. Portions are large so it was way too much food for the two of us, but the food is easily reheatable so it made for a nice lunch the next day. The wrapping on the dumplings is a bit thick, but probably due to them being handmade. I enjoyed the fish dumplings and the scallion pancakes the most. The house special dumplings lacked flavor in the filling. The pork and scallop dumplings were decent, but too chewy. They don't have any sauces except for soy sauce and chili, but you can ask for ginger and vinegar which helps break up the flavors. It was only half of the container. He is very rude every time. If the owner reads this, I highly recommend you hire someone else because he seems like he really hates this job).
