Buffet first plate!
Liz H.

When I went, it was $18 for all you can eat buffet, lots of open seating, lots of variety of foods, sweet tea and soft drinks available. The cashier was very nice. I didn't have to wait at all. I liked that there were different stations where you can get BBQ sauces, sweet tea, and utensils so you didn't have to wait in line for anything. I went back to get dessert. My fave was peach cobbler.

We stopped here on our way back to Florida. Cool little spot with "down home decor". You walk up and pay for your meal then take a plate and grab a cup for your drink. The buffet had "hash" which seemed to be a popular meat mixture, all the veggies including real collard greens. The corn nuggets and different bbq sauces were a cool addition. The Mac n cheese was fried, died, and laid to the side, but the fried chicken was great. No salad bar. Around $14 pp. friendly staff, and good place to grab Lunch.

Kids just enjoyed some homemade chips & macaroni and cheese.

Super charming staff and some of the best the real deal BBQ I've ever had. Worth checking out.

It's been 35 years since I've eaten at a Duke's BBQ. Know how they say don't go back because it's never as good as you remember it?? They're wrong! $12 buffet. All items fresh and ready to eat. I did pulled pork, okra, corn fritters,, rice with hash,, collards and Mac. There were sooo many Morris options though. I could make 3 runs with full plates and not exhaust my side item options. I ate in moderation though. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I did!

It was really good. Despite being a buffet everything was fresh and tasted home made. Only $11 with drink.

Hello, what are your hours and days you offer the buffet and is there a salad bar and desert? Is it $16 per person 14 to 61 years old? Thanks.

We ordered off the menu rather than the buffet -- though both were available and the buffet looked well-stocked and genuinely tempting. My husband had the Shrimp & Grits: Georgia shrimp over stone-ground grits with andouille sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, and a sherry cream sauce. Rumor had it that was the move, and the rumor was right. The grits alone were the kind you don't stop talking about -- velvety, deeply seasoned, the kind of base that makes everything sitting on top of it taste better than it already is. I went with the fried catfish, a side of mac and cheese, and a bowl of gumbo. Honest take: the catfish itself was good -- the fish was fresh and well-flavored -- but the batter had gone a little soggy, which kept it from landing where it could have. That's the kind of thing that varies by timing, not kitchen quality. The mac and cheese, though, was exactly what you want: cheesy without being gluey, hot all the way through, properly indulgent. And the gumbo -- chicken and sausage, rich and built with patience -- was the best thing on my side of the table. On a rainy afternoon in coastal Georgia, it was exactly right. Then there was the cornbread, served with peach cobbler butter. That detail alone tells you something about how this kitchen thinks. It's not an afterthought. It completed everything around it. I'm not from the South, and I won't pretend to have a lifetime of comparison points. But there's a kind of food that makes you feel like you were born into it anyway -- like your body already knew what it was tasting. That's what happened here. Good for road trippers, families, rainy days, and anyone who needs a real meal after a long stretch of highway. Four stars, with the grits alone pulling hard toward four and a half.

It will take some time to get your food if you get the fried chicken but it is worth it! It's cooked fresh to order. Hubby ordered the ox tail special with mash potatoes, green beans, mac and cheese. Daughter ordered four piece fried chicken with sweet potatoes, and I ordered the three piece fried chicken with greens. Some of our sides were an upcharge but it was worth it. Everything was delicious, we shared our sides. Hubby ordered banana pudding and finished it before we got out of the bathroom! The bathrooms are unisex and so clean and cute! The food did take about 30 minutes to come out, which was a bit longer than expected. Overall, I'd rate the food a 3.9 out of 5;it was good, but not quite exceptional. One thing to note is that there's a 2% fee added for dining in, and some of the menu prices felt a bit on the higher side. That said, it was still a decent experience overall and worth trying if you're in the area.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

DH's Cobb salad was excellent as well - he specifically said that the shrimp was perfect (again, shrimp are easy to overcook) and the chicken (white meat) was tender and juicy. The atmosphere is brightly lit, with lots of fun funky signs. You order at the counter and they'll bring it to your table if you dine in. Wheelchair accessible (I use a chair) but be aware that the bathroom is tight- doable, but on the smaller side. Due to the age of the building, it's a retrofit that did the best it could. I've been in much worse, in newer buildings. Prices were amazingly reasonable. 10/10 recommend, and if we're ever in that area again, we'll seek it out.
