I have had quite a bit of BBQ in my day - Austin TX, Kansas City, Denver CO, Nashville TN, and all around South Carolina and I'm not sure I've ever had any quite like here. The brisket and smoked chicken thighs were other worldly. The Beef ribs and pulled pork were damn near just as good. And to be able to able to a grab a few of the best tacos I've had at the same time... I was in heaven. Service was outstanding, the decor and the vibes are top notch. Decided to try some local bbq from this place that opened recently. It was ok. The good: the meat was juicy, tender, and flavorful. The ribs just fell off the bone. The sauce included on the meat was very good. The decor was nice. It was a very dimly lit hole in the wall style Texas bbq. The service was quick and reliable. The bad: the choice of sauces on the table was pretty slim. Only 2, Texas red and sweet heat. A bold choice in a place like South Carolina where Carolina gold reigns supreme, but neither of the sauces on table were all that spectacular. The pulled pork wifey got was like room temperature in the middle, maybe even a little cold. The outside was warm but not warm enough to make us think it was cooked recently. The serving size in my brisket bbq sandwich is really really small too. For a sandwich that was $14 I expected more than one slice of brisket. Feel free to check out the pics we took. They also charge a fee for using a credit card which cost them a star because personally I'm sick of business passing their fees onto consumers. Overall I think a 2 star is generous. The meat is well seasoned and so tender and juicy. The bad, small portions and food was cold in the middle. But it is worth a try. May be one of my new go to places! Food is so very good! The bbq sauce is on point, and the portions are decent. I was a little hesitant about the tallow fries, but it's a must try!! The service was good, they are very busy right now. So, if you don't want to wait, don't go! Cons- There is no take out . I work down the street and was really sad about this. They use a lot of onions. If you don't love a lot, make sure you tell them light onion! read more

This was our first time trying Bordertown and was pleasantly surprised. I tried the shrimp, fish and brisket tacos because the pulled pork was sold out. You can't be mad that a place is so good they actually sell out of their amazing food! The tacos have been the best I have ever had. They were loaded with yummy goodness. They had fresh Dempsey Farm watermelon which they used for their special drink of watermelon Margarita the place was packed when we arrived. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. My husband had brisket and fried Mac and cheese. Which he liked but loved my tacos. Don't sleep on this place. It's amazing! read more

Food? AMAZING! The brisket was so flavorful and literally melts in your mouth. The service was a bit chaotic due to the business still being fairly new. They are open until they sell out but I think they should come up with a different closing option than that. The ambience is definitely more casual dining. There isn't much sitting room but it's very clean and the decor is great! I suggest getting there as soon as they open for better seating and a wider variety of menu options. Just tried this place, and we loved it! There was a short wait for a table - no problem. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and really good food. The only issues we experienced were that the brisket was not as tender as we expected, and the shrimp in the grilled shrimp taco were a bit overcooked. (Thank you for using local SC shrimp!) But the fried fish taco was great, the barbacoa taco was amazing, and the sausage of the day was soooo good! The tallow fries were also very good, and we loved the lightly marinated cucumber side. The cocktails were refreshing, not too sweet and well balanced. Can't wait to come back and try more! read more

Food is phenomenal came down from Charleston SC and I will say this by far is a place everyone needs to try. We had chicken, brisket, ribs and sausage along with two sides. Everything was delicious !!! We brought the in-laws with us they fish tacos and brisket sandwiches they loved it. The seating area is nicely decorated and comfortable. Service was good read more

First time visiting Bordertown. Had been watching Facebook posts since the time that they opened and waiting for it to be a little bit less crowded. Still a good size lunch crowd. The small outdoor dining is very nice especially on a nice day. Inside is very dark and somewhat claustrophobic, dominated by the bar, which may not be an issue for some people. The shrimp taco was excellent. Also had the barbecued turkey sandwich which was pretty good. The service was friendly and consistent. I will go back a few more times to try some more things. Look forward to the fish tacos and and maybe another barbecue sandwich kind. read more

Best BBQ around! Prices are surprisingly reasonable for the type of food, quantity and the quality. Any bad reviews I've seen are service related or running out of certain food. Hopefully they don't change a thing because they have the perfect recipe for success. Yes you may have to wait a little and they may be out of something until they get the quantities down, but it is well worth going. I have yet to find something I don't like on their menu. Also have to include that this is the ONLY restaurant in Beaufort that doesn't just hand you tacos on raw soggy corn tortillas. People need to get over the wait time, no take-out orders, and busy staff. This is the price you pay for awesome BBQ. Besides the addition of a soda and ice machine, which Im sure is in the works, DON'T CHANGE A THING. The customers will continue to show up. read more
