So im not a huge fan of donuts, but when they are good...man they hit the spot. Duck Donuts is going to be a highly missed spot since i live on the West Coast. A friend took me here say i had to try them as they were one of his favorite places growing up in the area. The donuts are made fresh to order and are really hot and thick, they have a different kind of dough that is a lot thicker, but delicious. I got a donut with maple and bacon as a topping, and it was amazing. I really hope i can make it back to this place!!!! but just for the donuts. I also had a breakfast sandwich and coffee...and they came up short. I would probably not try anything else here but the donuts, they get a five star, but as far as the rest I had...ehhh I would pass. read more

I come into Duck regularly. I hear it's an OBX tradition but I'm sure glad we got blessed with a store here in the burg. Every flavor is amazing, even the maple bacon. It's like the chipotle of donuts, so don't expect pre-made donuts. You have to wait a few minutes for them but it's worth it. Doughnuts were made to order. Very fresh and piping hot. Chocolate frosting was alright. Original glaze was average. The peanut butter frosting was better than the glazed one. Strawberry frosting did not have much strawberry flavor. Tastes more like vanilla. The coffee was not terrible but nothing to write home about. There donuts are good, but nothing exciting. I like their assembly line, the fresh toppings, but it says their donuts are fried to order and that isn't true. When I placed my order, the girl grabbed six donuts that had been previously fried from under a heat lamp and place the toppings on. My donut was greasy and not the freshest texture. Although I prefer yeast donuts, if these were fresh I probably would have came back...I might try them again, but no time soon. read more

The donuts are fantastic! We ordered a half dozen variety that was warm and delightful. You can watch the donuts as they are made and then coated. The coating ranges from the classics like vanilla with sprinkles to more Adventurous selections such as peanut butter. The staff was friendly too. The only area they are lacking is the sandwiches. The service was quick and efficient, especially considering the donuts are made to order. Prices are reasonable and it's fun to mix and match your icings/toppings. I like the vibe in this particular location - it's a little quirky and fun with lots of Duck Donuts branded items for purchase. There are a few tables inside and another two outside to sit and relax while eating your donuts. As for the donuts themselves - nothing compares. These are the best donuts I've ever had, easily. There are a lot of great Mom-and-pop places and the dreaded DnD in CT, but I've never, ever, experienced donuts like Duck Donuts. They are cooked and topped to order. You watch them float down a little fryer river and when they get to the end, the icing and topping you chose are put on immediately. You can choose your own toppings or pick from a list of recommended types. Let me just say, "Maple Bacon Donut!!!" Bill and the rest of the staff were very nice. We went our second day on vacation and recognized our confusion of the process the minute we walked in. Even though we were holding up the line, they walked us through the process and recommended their favorites. It was very difficult to not go there every day we were in Williamsburg. We went back on our way out of town for one last donut. They remember use from being in earlier in the week. I went back on our way out for a second iced coffee and the woman, who I wish I could remember her name because she was great just kind of whispered, no worries, and gave it to me FOC!
