Cake donuts customized for the win! I think the plainest ones were actually the most delicious. Blueberry glaze was one of our favorites. You order, wait about 5 minutes while the guy customizes your donuts, and hopefully you can eat it right away while it is still fresh and hot out in the patio. I actually want to try just a normal glaze next time or a simple powder as I think the more complex and the more toppings there were, it kind of overwhelmed the donut a bit. Price was reasonable and would definitely come back. Would not get the maple bacon one again though. Nor the chocolate. Simple is best here! read more

The shorter male employee in the store at noon on Tuesday was rude and impatient. No one else was in the store, and right when I walked in he asked me how many donuts I wanted to order without giving me a chance to look at the menu or take a second to think about what I wanted to order. I first ate at Duck Donuts in Central Virginia and I immediately fell love with these light fluffy cake made to order hot donuts with the most amazing toppings ever When I moved to LA I thought I'd have to wait until I visited back East again to have one. But to my surprise there are two locations now in OC!!!! Please check this place out!! You will want to come back again and again. Stopped in to check out this place after eating next door...the place has a cute concept with the duck thing and a variety of cooked to order flavors. I tried their Lemon Pop that was a cake donut with lemon glaze. My thoughts? The cake part of the donut had a nice crispiness to it and the dough flavor was ok. The lemon glaze was a bit of a let down for me as I hoped it would have had a real tart lemon flavor to it. The lemon glaze was very mild and a bit on the sugary sweet side for my taste. The place is ok but I already have a made to order donut place that I like better and now feel guilty for cheating...hahaha. I stopped by Duck Donuts to try one donut for dessert after eating ramen in the same plaza. It's located in one corner of the plaza with plenty of parking but it gets real busy during lunch hours so beware. Also, most spots are a 90 minute limit, but I don't think anyone monitors it. Upon entering, I was greeted by an employee right away who asked if I had any questions. I glanced over the menu and decided to go with a blueberry pancake donut. You have the option to fully customize your own donut or order a flavor of their choice. While waiting, I tasted one of the samples they had out in a container. It was a vegan donut but it was surprisingly tasty! After a few minutes my name was called and was given my donut in a small box. I took my first bite carefully because it was still freshly hot. It was very tasty and was not overly sweet at all. I would definitely come back to try the more flavors! read more

Honestly I was not a fan at all . I'm sorry but they just add wayyyyy tooo much powdered sugar on the doughnut I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be or that girl that did mine was new . I had to say omg stop that's a lot and her response was yea we add a lot because it melts . I was like damm that's way too much already and u wanted to add more . I had to wipe it all off because it was overwhelming! Would I go back ? Probably not unless I know that it was just a bad day for me that day and that's not how they normally make them. read more

I love the fact that everything is freshly made to order. It smells amazing in here. You can either make you own combination of glaze, topping, and drizzle, or choose from their menu of pre-coordinated combinations. I opted for the Sunrise (lemon glaze with raspberry drizzle) and Spider Web (cinnamon sugar with vanilla drizzle) and both were fantastic. The best part is that the donuts are all made fresh and served warm. So tasty! St $2.25 per donut, it's definitely pricier than your typical donut shop, but worth it if you customize! Considering that people paid upwards of $3-4 for cupcakes during the craze, $2.25 isn't that out there for a fancy donut. I'll be back when I'm craving something sweet! read more

This was long ago but I preordered a box of their donuts for Halloween. I got their special Halloween edition box I forgot what it was called. But they came warms and smelling delicious. The donuts were so cute and had a good variety of flavors I never tried before. They taste almost like funnel cake, I definitely want to go back soon! read more

I'm not gonna lie I was skeptical about the raving reviews. I didn't want to get my hopes up and get disappointed. Yo... this is the best cake donut I've had!! They make the donut fresh in front of your eyes, toppings and everything. It's made with love I swear. I got the blueberry and loved every bite of it. It's SO soft and fluffy. Look up gourmet in the dictionary and you'll see a photo of these Incredibly fresh and delectable donuts. Amazing flavor variety. If I was on death row and awarded a final supper, I'd order a dozen Peanut Butter Paradise donuts from this spot and call it a night. They do weddings too - and they're doing mine! If you want a warm and quick pick me up donut place, this is the place to go! I got the strawberry sprinkle glazed donut and it was made to perfection. Ducks? Donuts? Quack me in! I saw earlier on the map that this place was located in Trade but wasn't sure exactly where it was. Through my powers of deducktion, I was able to locate the establishment in the corner space that used to be a Mediterranean restaurant. I made sure to get to this plaza early at 11 since I knew how quackie this place gets. Upon entering the establishment, i noticed a bowl of different variety of rubbers ducks sitting on the front counter. So many varieties that I never knew existed; from aliens to sombrero wearing, to superman ones. But back to the ducknuts. Jenn was our cashier and she was super personable. I also appreciated her giving us a bit of ducknut's history and where it originated. It was my first time here and she also explained which donuts were popular and I can choose to customize my own or choose ones that were preset. I chose the oreo and cookies, but sans chocolate sauce on top. The other one I wanted to try was the blueberry and raspberry sauce on top, I forgot the name of it though. I really liked the blueberry one since the blueberry flavor really stood out. The oreo was was also good. My only complaint is that the donuts were as sweet as they looked. The next time I come back, I hope i can request to have the sauce dipped a quarter of the way instead of half way. This way, I wont get too much of the sweet glaze on top.
