I've probably been to 50 car dealers in the last 3 years. However, this is the first dealer that I actually *liked*. "So, why do you go to car dealers if you don't like car dealers?" you ask. I love cars, and I'm always weighing the following question: How do I test drive a car without having to tolerate manipulative sales people? Cars are a hobby--possibly an obsession--for me, so I test drive far more cars than I actually buy. Don't get me wrong, I buy and sell more cars than most people do, but I don't buy 100% of the cars that I test drive. Today, I went to Dublin Mazda to test drive an MX-5 Miata. I'm 21 years old, and I don't exactly look like a serious customer. Nonetheless, the sales person let me take the Miata for a (relatively) long drive on the the highway. Enter at your own risk! There are a couple of nice younger guys working at Dublin Mazda; however, unfortunately there are some incredibly downright rude and arrogant salesmen here as well. I have not ever experienced such appalling behaviour in a business establishment! The manager did not do a thing to resolve the situation. If you really desire to consider a Mazda I would strongly suggest taking your business to a different location where you might receive respectable service. This review is for my recent visit to the Parts Department. Working as a CRM for a Toyota dealership for 5+ years I know how important ups are so I figured that as soon as I walked into the showroom floor that someone or anyone would approach me to see what I needed but that didn't happen here. I had to approach what looked like two sales people talking at their desk. But as soon as I asked for the parts department, another sales person kindly walked me over to the Parts Counter. I actually looked up his name on their "Meet our Staff" section of their website because I want to give credit where it's due :) Carlos Farias, the Part Manager is the one who helped me out. All I needed was a new battery for my keyfob remote. He was efficient, friendly & very professional. He out the new battery in & since the cashier was out on lunch he also acted as a cashier. Both of them were seeking new rides and having me take over payments on my Dad's 2012 Mazda 3 that he leased a few years back. We all drove off very satisfied as they both got new cars. Forgot to write this a year ago. Took my car here. Needed brake work and needed them to replace my lighter as it had a charger stuck in it. They screwed up my brakes and left air in the brake lines. I had to take my car to a 3rd party to fix it. They also screwed up my lighter replacement as it they actually just REMOVED it and failed to install the new one. Gross incompetence. I couldn't come back immediately and the woman who told me that they would resolve the issue had left the company. Horrible customer service from Bruce. We drove from San Diego to look at a car with the full intent to purchase. Needless to say the 10-year-old vehicle had a lot of wear and tear. I would not have purchased it but my husband insisted. My husband discovered that the fog lights weren't working while he was looking the car over. We were discussing privately what we were going to do, whether or not to purchase, renegotiate the price, etc. Bruce came up to us and said he didn't know what we wanted, if we were still interested because we weren't saying anything, at least not to him. Well, we wouldn't have said anything to him until we were done discussing the car. And then as a typical sleazy car salesman, he threw out that someone was going to look at the car in a couple of hours. We drove 500 miles to look at the car and he was questioning our intent. He was not friendly or professional at all. I do not recommend this place, at least based on my experience with this particular sales person. I read some of the great reviews and it does look like they have good staff here, so if you decide to come to this dealership, avoid this guy. Still trying to wrap my head around what happened yesterday. I came to Dublin Mazda with an appointment to meet with Erin after we communicated a little over a week and to finalize the paperwork needed to purchase the 2020 Mazda CX-30, but he was a no show. A colleague of his said he had called out sick. As a courtesy, it would have been nice to have been notified about his absence and to have someone else on the Dublin Mazda team assist, but none of his colleagues were informed of my appointment. I explained to another worker Daniel that I came in to purchase the CX-30 and just needed to go over the quoted rates and terms Erin and I have been discussing. But just as he was trying to look for the keys to hand to me, within a matter of 10 minutes of me being there, I was told another customer had purchased the car. Can you imagine how upset and frustrating this was? I get that business is business but this type of service is unacceptable. I also found it EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional how I was given A SCRATCHER as the team's way of telling me tough luck and try to win some money from this instead. My brand new Mazda 3 2013 is now making a weird noise every morning. The dealership told me to come in and have it checked. Went in on a Friday and showed them the video that showed the noise. They said that the car has to be left overnight. I said okay, but I need a loaner car, since I live in Sunnyvale. They said that I have to come back on Mon or Tuesday to get a loaner car. That is a long drive and I can't do that, so they said to contact the local Sunnyvale Mazda dealership to get it checked out there. Really bad experience with this Service Department. How can you treat a person, who just bought a new car like that? I have two Mazdas too. This was the second car I have purchased on my own. The first time I purchased a vehicle was through CarMax, which was a pleasant experience. I had made an inquiry at another dealership, closer to me (I live in Fremont) over a year ago, when I was thinking about trading in my prior vehicle but I found their sale tactics pushy and annoying. But due to an accident I was in the market for sure this time around and I just refused to do business with them because of the bad first impression I got. Thanks to TrueCar.com, I got in touch with Garth Wall at Dublin Mazda. Even though the initial emails I received were robo-emails when I made an inquiry about a specific car in their inventory. He followed up with a video message email. Initially I was creeped out. I'm just in the market for a new car, not online dating? I wasn't expecting it, but it did help put a face to name. Unlike a high volume of phone calls and voicemails from the sales guy from the other place, Garth seemed genuine and I thought, oh why not give this place a chance. Making an appointment was a breeze. And a confirmation reminder was very helpful. Initially I showed up checking out a used 2014 Mazda3. But being open minded, Garth also showed me some new 2015 Mazda3s that had been sitting for awhile. I test drove both vehicles. Garth answered all of the questions I had. Even the random ones about car seats and booster seats. And pointed out all of the features and differences between the vehicles. Surprisingly, the 2015 was a better deal than the 2014. Damnit, I got suckered. Just kidding. Big Mike in financing was great too. Not too pushy. Definitely a gentle giant, soft spoken, honest. Reminded me of a high school teacher, someone you could trust. I also made sure I was pre-approved to avoid wasting everyone's time. And he definitely looks out to find a good deal for you and presents all options in a clear easy manner. And he had no problem answering any questions I had. Again, felt very genuine and not the usual sales script I have gotten from other dealerships or have seen when my parents would purchase a vehicle in the past. I also appreciate how thorough he was with all of the financing paper work. Why can't I just stamp my signature? I guess that requires a signature stamp, but time would be saved if we were allowed to do that. Bottom line, if you are not an obnoxious asshole/bitch, just go in with a positive assertive attitude, open mind, your research done, and the folks at Dublin Mazda will definitely take care of you. Easy presentation of financing. No bs, it was straight to the point, when it came down to the numbers. Again, who wants their time wasted? Not me. Honestly, I wasn't even in a rush to get a car. I could have walked out and got another car somewhere else a few weeks later. But due to the high quality customer service I received, I went ahead and purchased my car with Dublin Mazda. I even got a discount on getting the ac recharged in my parents' 2004 Mazda Tribute done that same day. I would have preferred free, but I get it. They still need to make some money. read more

After checking out a BUNCH of used cars at a BUNCH of different dealerships, I stumbled over to the mazda dealership. At first I was not even considering a mazda, let alone a new Mazda. I was thinking mazda was not a great brand, but Mason talked to me about all the new features of the car and even encouraged me to "let it out" during the test drive. He talked me through the whole process, cut out the b.s. of buying a car, gave me a great deal, and even lent me a charger when my phone was about to die while signing the paperwork. I'm someone who has always hated buying a car--so much so that I spent years (and more money than I care to admit) using Uber and Lyft instead of getting a car. When it finally came time to get my own car, I knew I wanted to lease a Mazda 3. I called several Bay Area Mazda dealers. The person on the phone at Dublin Mazda was by far the friendliest, so I went with them. Garth Wall, the dealer who worked with me, made me feel very comfortable. He was extremely patient as I test drove several different models. I picked the white Mazda 3 S Touring Hatchback, and he answered all my questions without BS. He did not try to "upsell" me to the Grand Touring, and even told me that the Touring would be fine for what I wanted. That is the mark of a true quality salesman--they help you get exactly what is best for you, not what is best for them. The financing/registration process was a breeze, and took about an hour after I had picked out my model. They didn't have the exact model I wanted on the lot, but they were able to get it within 3 days. I came back 3 days later, Garth picked my up at the BART (5min away) IN MY CAR! (Nice touch, Garth! :) I would definitely shop at Dublin Mazda again, and am glad that they will be my dealer and service center of record for the life on my car (and for when I trade in for a new model when the lease is up. Poor service department. Unable to schedule Saturday appointment for the next month. Called to reschedule and got transfer to service advisor voicemail and got cutoff four times. (in a span of 25 minutes) Left a voicemail specified to schedule for Saturday service appointment and ended up modified the service appointment 1st Monday in 5 weeks. A interior part in the dash was missing from last service and tire pressure cap was missing from another service. Mazda service is excellent! I recently had a chronic lift-gate trim problem on my 2017 CX-5 that was caused by an outside glass shop that was not fixable. The Mazda service director Bryon K. listened to my explanations, help diagnosed the problem, offered to fix the trim without charging labor. I then had the pleasure to work with Justin, who is a total pro! When the initial attempt to fix the trim wasn't working he end up replacing the whole trim. Not only that, Bryon found out I needed to wait for hours and was able to prioritize the service orders by pushing back cars that require multiple days of service and a brand new trim was replaced in less than 2 hours! Bryon and Justin went WAY beyond my expectations for a car service from Mazda. I've been coming here since 2014 and they have always been honest and reasonable but now they have just risen to a whole new level! Look no further, I recommend them without reservation! Just bought a brand new Mazda 3 Sedan today. I live in Fremont so I decided to check out the Fremont Mazda dealer. I will never go back to Fremont Mazda again! All they were concerned about was trying to get me to buy something the second I got there. They were of no help. When I asked about the car they told me to come in and talk numbers and then they will give me some info. I bought my car from Dublin and they were all kind and very informative and didn't talk numbers whatsoever until i was ready to. Car purchase: This gets 5 stars. My wife and I bought our Mazda3 GT hatch at the beginning of this year (2016) and everyone who was involved was great, as well as the service department. Practices: 1 star? Let me explain: Over at Dublin Honda, there has been a 2014 Audi allroad on the lot for approx two months (maybe more). I had been keeping a blind eye on it, seeing if the price would drop into a price range that was comfortable for me and my family. I came in to have my Mazda3 serviced on 10/6/16 and the allroad was still there at approx $27.6K. When I looked online yesterday (10/8/16), the car was now on the Mazda lot priced at almost $30K. Now, I know that if a car doesn't sell on one lot, the sister dealer can purchase it and put a slightly higher price on it. But to raise the price by close to $2.5K?!? The car didn't get any newer over those two days. It makes me question if I want to buy a car again from this dealer... read more

Walked in with my gf, and we walked out with a new 2014 sport Mazda3 happily. Despite of being in there for 3.5 hours. The experience was very pleasant, staffs were very friendly and informative about their inventories. We were greeted by Jack Luong, he instantly showed us the the different trims along with the different features each trim consisted. Mr. Jack showed us around the car lot to let us explore which colored models we were interested most, and allowed both of us to each take turns test driving the car. After we narrowed down to colors, we negotiated to a awesome deal but wanted to take some time to do some more financial research to prepare for insurance and whatnot, Jack was very patient and gave us all the time we needed to prepare for our big committed purchase. We came back today a week later and jumped right into business with Mr Jack again to select our preferred color model and flew through the paperwork. The entire process was smooth and quick!! We even got our Mazda3 washed during the paperwork process. We met the manager , John Smith. Mr. Smith gave us a good rundown about how freqently we would drive our new car, how long we were expecting to keep it and leading down to what we can do the take good care of it with warranty/maintenace package and the GAP coverage. I have read from edmunds.com that dealers often try to make $$ out of selling accessories that are unecessary but extended warranties can be an exception. At first we weren't that convinced of getting the warranty/maintenace package, but we had to do our weigh and balances: -living in a town that's full of DUI drivers; i had my own car totaled overnight and it was devastating -GAP coverage to prevent the nightmare of paying for a totaled car you no longer have because of a contract you've signed (which happened to my gf's coworker's bro) -technology of cars nowadays are so advanced that mechanics aren't consistent with reparing those high-tech features, so did we wanted to get ripped off by a mechanic who simply replace parts that may not even be compatible with the car that will lead it to die down again a week or 2 later for an extreme high cost? nah The catch was that the mainteance/warranty will cover repairs for 7 years, but we did had bills and other financial burdens to take care of, so Mr. Smith was understanding enough to suggest we may not need the GAP coverage to meet our financial needs. However, he still highly recommended it since we couldn't afford not to have it. After doing our weigh and balances carefully, we decided to take the package, so we can live happily with our purchase in the long run!! In the end, service was excellent and it was definitely a pleasurable experience thanks to Mr. Jack and Mr. Smith!! We will look forward to buying another car here in the near future!!! read more

If it was based on to the Sales experience alone I would give them a 5 star rating but unfortunately there's more to it than just that. Troy was absolutely outstanding. He made the whole process so easy and comfortable. When it came to financing John was a complete pleasure to work with. They both would get 5 stars in my book. Customer service and the detailing department is a different story. Here is when, where and why the 3 stars come in: I purchased a used vehicle (so I know the car won't be perfect) however I do have standards. When purchasing the vehicle, the gas tank was empty so I asked them to fill it. They said since it's a used car, they can only give me a half tank of gas. I then asked for the keyless key battery to be changed because it was dead and I only received one key. They tried to charge me for the battery. I told them that I'm not going to pay for that and so they said we will put in a battery in free of charge but that it wasn't the right size so they can't guarantee it will work or last. Then comes the car cleaning- I asked for it to be detailed because the car needed it. It looks they they just drove it through the gas station car wash. Please see pictures with proof that they didn't even touch the interior which I specifically asked for (not to mention the children's hand prints of dirt that are all over the cloth as well- I don't have children). My first car shopping. I have always wanted a Mazda, either a 3 or 6, so my family decided to go to the Dublin Mazda to take a look and see what they have. The location of the dealership was right off the highway, and easy to find. That is a plus! When my family and I got there, we were greeted by MICHAEL BARRILLEAUX, definitely recommend him to anyone who is interested in buying a Mazda. I told him what I was looking for and what price range I was looking at. He showed me bunch of Mazda 3 and 6. He explained to me what the differences between each of them were. We ended up test driving a Mazda 3 grand touring and the Mazda 6. He show how the system works and what I should know about these cars. After testing driving, I had a hard time deciding what car I like more. My dad wants me to go for the bigger car for comfort and more stable. I like the 3, where it's more gas efficient and decent size. After that we started looking at numbers. I must say, I have never met anyone like Michael, who is patient with me and my family. He never made me feel like you need to walk out with this car today, never said anything to make me feel bad. I don't have too many experiences with dealers but in some sense I do know they want to make a sale. He let me take my time for me to decide this is my car and I feel comfortable with this price. He asked me many times "what do I think, what do I think, what do I want." and not you should get this. But since the car was going to be under my name and being fresh out of college, I felt like my APR rate was too high and my family and I had to walk out... Try to figure out some other way to bring it down... Good new is that my family and I went back the next day bc I really like the car and I know that I wouldn't find another salesman that's going to be as patient as Michael (one of the other reason we return here). It was the same process all of again, taking the car for another test drive, looking at numbers. Once we started looking at numbers, which is the hardest part. Because my family and I have a budget of what we want to spend and how much we can pay. You can feel the tension there. I guess you can say my family doesn't want to pay overprice of what we can really get it for. Dealers don't want to sell for less, which is understandable, it's business. That process must of taken hours... It was long but both sides came to a compromise and I got the car I wanted. My first experience of buying a car was a good one. Michael was there the whole time, even though he was suppose to leave around 4 to go with his wife for an appointment. They are expecting their first baby, Congratulations again. I felt kinda bad, but I'm glad he stay till the end. My family and I didn't drive off until 6. And if his wife is reading this, which Michael told me that she would, congratulations and your husband was one of the best salesman, pleasant and he shared many wonderful stories with me. Well, after a poor experience at Fremont Mazda (feel free to see my recent review for details) my wife and I drove over to Dublin Mazda. Upon arrival we were properly greeted by the very pleasant and professional Tom Rood. I really didn't think a new car was in my "wheelhouse", as we were initially looking to buy something used. However, after looking into the CX-5 and taking a couple test drives, we found it to be the right car for us. Working out the numbers took a llittle longer than we'd hoped, and though it was exhausting, everyone there was really friendly and knowledgeable - Tom, Sean, and John specifically. I also wanted to add that Tom was probably the most genuinely caring car salesmen I've ever worked with. I honestly felt like our experience of buying the right car was his priority - as opposed to just making the sale. Kudos for understanding something basic, yet extremely important, that a lot of salesmen have forgotten in this industry. My sister had been into the dealership and had a great experience and ended up with a new Mazda3 hatch and loved it. I had been in the market for a smaller car with better gas mileage and decided to come in and check out what I could do with my trade-in.
