I worked with a salesperson regarding a used vehicle and made a specific offer over the phone. I spoke with him several times and specifically confirmed the price. He told me they could "make those numbers work," but that I needed to come into the dealership to make it happen. Based on those conversations, I drove to the dealership after work believing we were essentially in agreement on the numbers and just needed to finalize the deal. There was also another issue that concerned me. The CARFAX showed that the vehicle had been involved in a minor accident. I was told that this vehicle had come to this dealership as part of their purchase of a neighboring Porsche dealership. Because of the accident history, I specifically asked to see the repair/work order so I could understand exactly what damage occurred and what repairs had been performed. I asked about this paperwork multiple times and was repeatedly told they would get it for me before I completed any paperwork. However, by the end of the visit, I was told they couldn't find the work order. Considering the vehicle came from a neighboring Porsche dealership that they had acquired, I found it concerning that the repair documentation they had told me they would provide suddenly could not be located. On top of that, I spent about two hours at the dealership. They asked me to fill out a credit application and ran my credit. Given our multiple conversations and the fact that I had confirmed my offer before coming in, I believed we were proceeding based on the numbers we had already discussed. Only AFTER running my credit did they come back with a price approximately 20% higher than my offer. This is the part I find most frustrating. If we were actually that far apart, why wasn't I told that during any of our phone conversations? Why ask me to drive to the dealership after work and run my credit if the dealership was nowhere near the number we had repeatedly discussed? Had they simply told me their actual number beforehand, I would not have made the trip and certainly would not have authorized a credit inquiry. To be fair, everyone was courteous and professional in person. My issue is not with how they spoke to me; it is with the lack of transparency throughout the process. Between being told several times that they could make my numbers work, running my credit before revealing that their price was roughly 20% higher, and being unable to produce the accident repair documentation they had repeatedly said they would provide, the whole experience left me uncomfortable and feeling misled. In the end, I wasted nearly three hours and ended up with an unnecessary credit inquiry without a deal. I would be very careful when dealing with this dealership. If you negotiate a price over the phone, get the numbers in writing before making the trip or allowing them to run your credit. And if you're considering a vehicle with an accident history, I would also insist on seeing the repair documentation before moving forward. read more

Recently, we had a flat tire late at night. In trying to change the tire, we could not get one of the lug nuts off. We had to tow the car to a local garage and wait til the next morning to get service. They found that when my tires were last rotated, the nut was cross-threaded. It cost me 215 dollars to replace the stud and nut. The last garage to rotate the tires was Livermore Subaru. I left two messages for the Service Manager to discuss my experience. I was never called back. Very disappointed. I will not go back to Livermore Subaru again. read more

I expected a poor buying experience, but Livermore Subaru managed to exceed those low expectations. Bravo! Despite agreeing on a price, the red flags appeared immediately. Within five minutes of starting paperwork, they ran a hard credit check without my consent and lied to my face regarding my outside financing--a claim I have a witness to verify. The atmosphere was unprofessional, resembling a dive bar more than a dealership. Between the dim lighting, loud music from a Bluetooth speaker, and miserable-looking staff, the only things missing were a pool table and cigarette smoke. The process was a gauntlet of 'telegraphed' high-pressure tactics: aggressive upselling, guilt-tripping when I declined the warranty, and blatant misinformation about vehicle holds. I purchased a vehicle from Hansel Subaru in Santa Rosa just last month and had a seamless, positive experience there. By contrast, Livermore Subaru was a masterclass in how to alienate a customer. I should not to sign any documents before they honored the reward. In addition, they made a mistake and asked me to visit again to sign the documents they had missed, which wasted my time and money. He had no idea about the feature, service cost, nothing... They tried to sell me a car with no history of service records, and when I asked them to check if they could make it certified pre-owned , they just fled the scene. Best deals around, I truly believe no one would have matched the offer they gave me. Recently purchased a Forester and it was way easier of a process than I expected. I went in debating between multiple cars and Sabrina had incredible patience with me and helped me narrow it down. I was looking around dealers in a 100 mile radius and this was the first dealer I checked out. I was planning on going to others but after meeting Sabrina and how she really seemed to understand my situation, I knew this is where I wanted to buy a car. We made quick work on a deal, it really must have only been 10-15 minutes, and they even let me trade in 2 cars. I did not even know that was possible. I wasn't notified when's there was a serious issue with my vehicle--I only found out when I couldn't register my car. I've been driving without valid registration since NOVEMBER, which is not only illegal but completely avoidable if they had done their job. I've had to take multiple days off work trying to fix a problem THEY caused. I was promised calls and updates over and over again, but not once have they followed through unless I chased them down myself. They clearly don't care about their customers' time, safety, or trust. I get the run around from the sales department lying about the finance dept, oh and by the way there's only one person that has access to run your VIN to see what is covered or not. No- one ever calls back. If you are buying a used vehicle from this place, I would highly recommend checking the carpet. Mine looked like it has been gutted out and put back on. Of course, I didn't see that until after I purchased the vehicle. and now I have all these issues with this car. This establishment is SHADY on so many levels. Do not buy a used vehicle from them regardless of what kelly blue book says. We bought a new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek from Sohail at Livermore Subaru and it was a great experience. We've been looking for a Crosstrek for a while and at first, we were fairly settled on finding a low-milage used one. A little more research showed that the 2024s had some huge improvements (most notably the display) and the used prices were not that much less because Subarus hold their value. We went to a couple of other dealerships and it just felt weird. A lot of bait and switch with cars that were on the website but we're magically "just sold an hour ago." We checked the Livermore Subaru website late one night and found 5 cars in-stock (the most of any dealership we checked) that met our requirements. We expressed interest in a car they said they had on the lot via the website. We were a bit doubtful the car really existed based on our other experiences. We got a call in the morning from Sohail and arranged a time that same day. We were late but he was standing there when we pulled up and had the car (as advertised) ready to go for a test drive. Before we started, he explained several cool things about the car. We liked that he was knowledgeable and friendly but not pushy. He asked us over and over if we had any questions rather than giving us a "pitch." In this day and age, we, like most people, have researched vehicles, watched YouTube videos, etc so this way of dealing us was appreciated. We worked out a fair deal and the finance manager was very friendly and easy to deal with. Honestly, this was the best experience buying a car I've ever had. I highly recommend Sohail. If I can have a NEGATIVE 5 star, I would choose this option but there's no option for this I have bought my daughter's e-golf a year ago and so far, they have not sent over the license plate. Recently, my daughter is needing to change the same car as she needs a gas efficient car rather than a short range electric car. It was a bad decision to begin with but lesson learned. She has asked to see if they buy back the car and the staff DENIED her. She then went to the nearest Honda dealership and suspected that one of the staff alerted this dealership to DENY her inquiry as well. There are so many WRONG things have happened but I was gracious enough to give them grace when it comes to sending out the license plate which was THEIR responsibility. Even after a year of WAITING, this has not yet still been delivered. I wouldn't be making this NEGATIVE review for such an AWFUL experience but I will be reporting this to the BBB as well. What an experience here. We ended up getting a Crosstrek and the salesman was beyond helpful and polite! The respect these guys gave me and my mom was amazing. My mom is 80, so this was an important car. We needed something ultra dependable and safe more than anything. It wasn't 100% smooth sailing though. There was one person out of everyone we encountered that was very very unprofessional to say the least. This guy needs some serious training and rethinking of how he deals with people. Now that said, everyone and everything ELSE was phenomenal. My mom is so happy with the car and the experience. We will definitely be back.
