This review is for Audi Livermore's Service Department. I brought my 2022 e-tron for its 40k service in April 2026, and they tried to charge me $275 for the diagnostic fee. I thought the car should still be under warranty, but they "checked" and said my car was out of warranty. I tried to set-up another appointment for a recent brake booster recall and a software issue. This time, they quoted me $330 for the diagnostic fee on the software issue. Sensing something wrong, I called Audi USA and confirmed that my car is under standard warranty until July 2026, which means that Audi Livermore should NOT be charging diagnostic fees at all. Two times in two months of misleading and shady practices. I will be taking my Audi to another dealer going forward. Contacted another local east bay dealer, confirmed my car is still under manufacturer warranty and not charging any fees like Livermore tried to twice. read more

Warranty Fraud, No Loaner, Car Held Since March 26 -- Management Must Be Held Accountable Short version: Audi Livermore has had my 2023 Audi A3 since March 26, 2026 -- over 6 weeks -- with no loaner vehicle despite promises, and is now trying to charge me $4,000 for what should be covered warranty repairs. Service Manager Johnny Cheng has overseen every failure in this process and should be held directly responsible. I spoke to a corporate agent, they promised me 3 times that Johnny will call me directly because he was required to. All 3 times he had his service manager call me. Showing defiance even towards corporate. Its only recent within the last 10 days that hes been finally calling me himself like he was supposed to but its too late now, I don't want to talk to someone whose going to try to scare and threaten me like an organized crime boss. At this point the car just needs to be bought back. The full story: In October 2025 at 45,500 miles, I brought my A3 in for a yellow battery warning light. I suspected the battery, but the technician diagnosed a bad BSG (Belt Starter Generator). Instead of replacing the BSG -- the actual diagnosed problem -- they only charged the system and told me to "monitor it." This was a deliberate half-repair on a known warranty issue. Had they simply replaced the battery or the BSG at this visit, none of what followed would have happened. Fast forward to March 26, 2026: the car suffered a cascading warning light failure, directly related to the unresolved BSG issue. I had to have it towed in. I emailed both the dealership and Audi corporate ahead of time explicitly stating this was a continuation of the prior warranty repair which they later attempted to change in order to charge me. Since then: They replaced the 12V battery -- which resolved the core issues -- but then claimed the remaining ABS warning light was a separate, non-covered problem worth ~$600. Any competent technician knows that after a 12V battery replacement, control modules lose their settings and can throw warning lights that simply require a computer reset using Audi's ODIS diagnostic system -- a procedure that takes minutes, not thousands of dollars. Weeks later, they added an AC unit failure to the bill, ballooning the total to $4,000. They have never replaced the BSG -- the original diagnosed root cause -- to this day. They promised a loaner vehicle. They never delivered. I have been without transportation since March 26, 2026. I have observed my work order being altered to reclassify issues as non-safety related. Johnny Cheng, the Service Manager, bears direct responsibility for this situation. A service manager's job is to ensure customers are treated fairly, warranty obligations are honored, and his team follows proper diagnostic procedures. Under his watch: a known BSG fault went unrepaired for months, a customer was left without a loaner despite explicit promises, repair costs were inflated from $600 to $4,000, and documentation appears to have been altered to label andd cover the issue as a non safety issue. This is not a technician error -- this is a deliberate management failure. The irony is that if the battery had simply been replaced at the first visit in October 2025, this entire saga -- the tow, the cascading failures, the loaner obligation, the corporate escalation -- never happens. Johnny Cheng's decisions have cost this dealership far more in liability, reputation, and customer loss than one warranty battery replacement ever would have. I have documented everything -- emails, work orders, and correspondence with Audi corporate. I am pursuing this through every available channel. They will have a state representative physically go to the location to confirm what I am saying. They will go through all the files and even inspect the car themselves. Attempting to charge someone for an issue stemming from a warranty repair is illegal in California, but Johnny wanted to gamble. Do not trust this dealership with warranty repairs. read more

To all who are considering doing business at a LAPIS dealership (be it Porsche, Audi, Land Rover, Honda, Ferrari or Mercedes-Benz). Here is my experience...and it's not a good one. I had sought out a particular vehicle and finally found one of interest; the problem was, it was over 500 miles away in Southern California (I live in Northern California). However, even if the vehicle was in the area, I would still need to perform some type of due diligence, in order to assure I was purchasing a sound/functional vehicle. That said, I found a Lapis Dealership only 20 minutes away from where the vehicle resided and made an appointment for a Pre-Purchase Inspection (cost $740). Days later, I was contacted by the service manager and told the vehicle was in good condition, although it still needed some suspension work and to replace a few leaking seals. With this endorsement in hand, I purchased the vehicle and had it shipped to Northern California. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the following: * No AC * No headlights * Windshield wipers inoperable * Antenna won't retract * Parking brake won't hold * Tachometer won't go above 2,000 * Windows require manual intervention to operate * Each door lock is keyed differently and neither works with the keys * Erratic Idle/RPM * Rear shocks leaking * Fuel leaks * Oil leaking from bell housing/main seal For those of you not familiar with cars, most of these items (some safety-related) would have been easy to identify by either pushing some buttons in the driver's compartment or readily visible with the vehicle up on a car lift). THE TOTAL COST OF RECTIFYING THESE ISSUES HAS RESULTED IN A REPAIR BILL EXCEEDING $30,000! Of course, I was less than pleased and contacted the dealership. While they were willing to refund my $740, they were totally unwilling to accept any responsibility for their obvious mechanical oversights...essentially just patting me on the head and hoping I would just go away! Well, $30,000 is a huge chunk of change and I wasn't willing to go away quietly. I contacted the Customer Care Manager and Customer Service Department for the car manufacturer and both told me the COO of LAPIS/Mark Venti would be my main contact for resolving this issue. However, after numerous attempts to contact Mr Venti to resolve this issue, my communiques (email, as well as certified mail) have fallen on deaf ears - NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. While it took every fiber of my being while writing this, I have refrained from utilizing 4-letter expletives to portray my displeasure, although a $30,000+ bill to cover their mistakes is pretty close to a living hell. In short, BEWARE the LAPIS Dealership Group does not have your back! I would highly recommend you seek out alternatives to a LAPIS Dealership! read more

Service Only Review -- I purchased my 2020 Audi Q7 elsewhere with very low miles. LOVE the car! Didn't love not having the special code you need on the tag when you buy new.. I didn't get it, went through hoops and need to ask for it from dealership and just too much work. The car is amaaaaaaaazing without it. Needed an oil change but super appreciate when I called in asking if it was part of the warranty (you never know for the price you pay right?) and found out past owner paid for service and had onecleft. Caution: This dealership will make customers pay for their own internal misses. I advise extreme caution regarding delivery checklists and final billing here. I had an extremely poor experience regarding a $$$2,000 charge for a missing charging cable at lease end. The Problem The charging cable was never provided with the car when I took delivery. I brought this issue to my Sales Consultant's attention at the time; he promised to follow up but failed to do so. Later, I was informed he had left the company. I then spoke to the General Manager, who refused to provide the cable or acknowledge the mistake, claiming they had no documentation about my case. The Irresponsibility This dealership's decision to claim 'lack of documentation' and charge the customer $$$2,000 for their own internal staffing and record-keeping failure is profoundly unprofessional. It demonstrates a 'one-time business' mentality rather than a commitment to long-term client support. Current Status As a result of this dealership error, Audi Financial Services assessed a $$$2,000 fee on my final bill. We recently visited the Livermore Audi dealership and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the beginning, our interaction with the sales representative, Mariam, felt impersonal and rushed. Although my wife was genuinely interested in the vehicle, the overall process lacked the professionalism and care you'd expect from a premium brand. After we agreed to lease the vehicle, we were handed off to Eva in finance, who moved through the paperwork so quickly that it was difficult to follow what we were agreeing to. She introduced additional products and warranties with little explanation, and while she assured us we could reach out with any questions, my detailed follow-up email and two voicemails have gone completely unanswered. The only time I received any response was after I submitted a complaint through the company's website -- within five minutes, someone called to say Mariam would follow up in two days since she was out of the office. Not only did no one ever call, but we later realized that Mariam had only been attempting to contact my wife -- even though she had been informed that my wife wouldn't be able to take personal calls during work hours. It felt like we were being deliberately avoided. For a luxury dealership, the lack of responsiveness and accountability has been incredibly disappointing. We're left feeling overlooked and disregarded. After I posted the review, I guess the review caught the attention of the manager Louis who called me the very next day and explained in detail how he was going to talk to his staff and make sure this never happens again. He also spent the time with me to explain the whole contract and the process which made me feel a bit more comfortable I just wish this was done in the beginning. read more

UPDATED from Apr & May 2024 reviews I left previously for 2019 E-tron & 2021 Q5. My initial purchase was a 2019 E-tron in Apr 2024. This car was sold to me with out recall disclosure or correct mileage range info. Turns out 1 of 2 outstanding recalls was a fire safety issue. The car was plugged in at my home! I returned the next day to request a refund and return of my trade in. I was denied by the manager Adris. He approved a swap for a different car; a 2021 Q5. I drove home on Apr 30 in a 2021 - Q5. On May 3 (4 days later) a malfunction message appeared on the dash while we were on the way to the dealership to pick up floor mats. We immediately drove this car to their service dept & notified the service team, manager & my sales rep. We had taken pictures of the dash message and showed it to the service staff, Adris and our sales person. My Sales rep was directed to take the car on a test run & was not able duplicate the dash message. We were and sent home without any further action. On Aug 15, The car shut down completely on the freeway displaying the same malfunction message. It had to be towed to the service dept. On Fri, Oct 12, I learned that the engine failed and $16k of work was needed to fix it. This damage occurred over the 90day warranty, but was originally reported 4days into the warranty period. Since the original report on May 3 was not logged by the service depart, the dealerships warranty people wont honor the warranty & Audi expects me to "chip in" on this massive bill. In the meantime, they have/sold my trade in car (a 2019 Merc Coupe) and my $18k. This purchase experience has taken more than 6mos and still has not been resolved; a total nightmare. The EV & Q5 were not as advertised. Both vehicles sold to me had issues. Turns out the manager who was in charge of fixing this debacle failed and is no longer employed there. And...I STILL don't have a car that works 6months later. This has been stressful and unethical. Although my sales person for the Q5 was exceptional in his efforts to help resolve this, management continues to make this situation worse by expecting me to pay more money for their mistakes. I have no choice but to pursue legal action to recover all the money taken from me. This is wrong. I still don't have a fair purchase from this dealership to make this right! This is just wrong on so many levels! read more
