I've been curious about this restaurant for a while, and we finally decided to give it a try this New Year's Eve. Searching for auspicious food to ring in the new year, I thought--why not indulge in a variety of Chinese dishes? I chose ten 'good luck' items, including beef, pork, fish, leafy greens, and a sweet dessert. When we picked up our order via DoorDash, a friendly staff member handed us our meals. My husband and I haven't had authentic Chinese food in quite some time--at least a year--so we were eager to see how it would taste. I'm happy to say that everything I ordered was bursting with flavor and truly hit the spot! It's possible the flavors stood out even more because it's been so long since we enjoyed real Chinese cuisine. One issue, however, was packing the items into bags. Some were heavier than others, which caused a slightly crushed container and leakage from pickup to home. We dig in and I forgot to get pics....currently living in AZ where Chinese food is all garbage I just could not wait. Everything was soo good. My order was about 88 before tip (first order of Saturday march 14th) The beef order was not beef , pad Thai tasted like pasta /spaghetti but old. Wrong shrimp, potstickers were freaking empenadas. They have some of the best Hong Kong style chow mien I've ever had. Hot and sour soup was delicious.I ordered a cup of won ton soup and was a little disappointed that it was just broth and two won tons no other veggies in it but the wontons were decent. I've been here a few times and the food has been really good. This time, not so much. The pork was so dry it crumbled when I ate it. The rest of the food was so bland and lacked flavor I couldn't eat it. There was heat but otherwise it just was flavorless. Bummed to see it take such a steep decline. Hoping this is just a one-time thing. We ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp; Mongolian Beef; Pork Fried Rice; and Pork Egg Rolls...to go. Good News: I didn't have to wait when I got to the restaurant as there was nobody there... just me and the person working the front counter. (That should have been a clue) Bad News: Food was horrible. Worst I've eaten...or rather tried to eat in a long time. My wife and I went to the Dragon Bistro tonight for some eggrolls and a beer. We ordered 2 Bud lights (we wanted Coors light) and an order of pork eggrolls. The Bud lights were on the menu for $4 when the bill came it said 2 Budlights $10 when I pointed it out to the waitress she went to the Manager and came back and said "the owner raised the price last week" . I told her I don't care about $2 but it is definitely illegal to list a price and then change the price after the service (or product) has been provided she said have a nice day.I took pics of the bill and menu but Yelp wont let me upload them for some reason, I will keep trying. read more

Went for the first time. We almost didn't go in due to the dirty front door. The inside was worn but ok. The food was awful. Worse meal in a very long time. The chow mein was bland, general tso's chicken was so hard you could not cut with your fork. We were not given a knife. Our meal came with pork and we had to ask for hot mustard. Felt like we were an inconvenience. Never were asked if we wanted drinks. Spent a lot of money on subpar food. Took home some leftovers but they went straight in the garbage. The bathroom was dirty which made me concerned about cleanliness of kitchen. Will not be back!! read more

3.5-4 stars Got it to go. Crab Rangoon, chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, hot garlic chicken Crab Rangoon was good! Bigger triangle pieces. Chicken fried rice was ok. Smaller portion that other places and kind of bland. Sriracha required. Sweet and sour chicken had good chicken and they packaged the sauce separately which is nice. But the sauce was a bit bland for me, another need for sriracha. Hot garlic chicken was the winner. Spicy and good flavor. read more

One star is like saying this maybe edible but this food is as bad as it gets. Sweet and sour pork combo and sweet sour chicken combo my dog wouldn't even eat it. This food absolutely disgusting. So pork had so much batter on it I don't know if it was sweet and sour batter because, it definitely wasn't sweet sour pork. Just about everything we ordered was overly deep-fried and sugared to death and yet was still bland. There were very few veggies in a veggie dish. They seem to just be going through the motions without any concern about flavor, nutrition, or presentation. read more

Best Chinese in the harbor! Yet there are areas that could be improved upon. Broccoli and beef has great flavor and rh broccoli is crisp. The Beef is really tough and I have had it twice. Calamari and shrimp have to much salt and pepper. General Taos is good as is the chow main. The honey walnut shrimp are huge and excellent. Happy to have a reliably good place to eat read more

Been here a couple of times to be fair. Service was prompt and efficient, although both times there was hardly anybody there. Have had the Mongolian Beef, Szechuan Beef, and Hot and Sour soup. Overall impression, American Chinese food. Both beef dishes I ordered were supposed to be spicy but had zero heat. And both were kinda bland and had no depth of flavor. Beef was tender though. The soup was barely spicy and had a metallic aftertaste. I'm thinking they used tap water because that's what it reminded me of. 2 times is enough, will not be back. read more

My husband and I went in there not realizing it had been sold again. So new that there is no liquor license yet, and it is unknown if they will get one. What I will say is the food was really good! We got the pork fried rice, sweet-and-sour pork, and almond chicken. Everything was very hot and really yummy. It's been a while since I've seen almond chicken done with the gravy style and we were thrilled about that! There used to be that almond chicken at Harbor Monsoon but they went out of business years ago. Yes I would recommend this place, they were extremely fast and the service was impeccable, But Hunan Gardens will always hold a special place in my heart, and panda Garden is pretty darn close to Hunan. read more

This restaurant is a work in progress. We had the House Fried rice, Almond Fried Chicken and a spicy beef dish. The fried rice was okay. It had a good variety of meats and they were tasty. Some of the chicken pieces were larger than than I liked. The Almond Chicken was a disappointment. The chicken pieces were covered with a sauce that had little flavor and caused the coating to be soggy. They were also a little too large. The spicy dish was spicy and other than the beef slices being tough to chew was the best of the three dishes. All in all the new decor is an improvement and the service was good but until they get the things worked out there are better options for Asian food in the area. read more

Well I have been going here for a year And it was good before but today it was so awful. It was a number 6 the noodles were so dry and the rice was mushy. The shrimp were overcooked. The only good thing was the three pieces of barbecued pork. I thought since I have been going there for Over a year that they would do something But No she just said they have the same cook! Perfect amt. of food for a lunch serving of soup, main, rice, tea, & fortune cookie. Fried rice was plain, very dissapointing; just soy-sauce fried rice, & scrambled egg. Almond chicken for our 3 ppl was not great, but acceptable. Veggie chow mein really good! Both choices of soups, (egg drop/or hot & sour), not great. Fried potsticker was tasty. Hot tea was great. I called and ordered three meals from the Dragon's Bistro in Gig Harbor. I was told it would be 1-2 hours and they would call me when the order was almost done. I confirmed twice they would call me and they said they would. 1.5 hours later I still had not heard anything and went to the restaurant, as the order should be just about done. I got there and there were others waiting. No one was at the front counter. A worker came out of the back with another order and helped that customer. I waited another 15 minutes and the worker called out my order. My order had been sitting on the back table. I told them they said they would call me when the order was about done. The worker said, it was fine as it just came out. I paid, left a tip and went home. I got home and the food was COLD. I had to microwave the order. Two parts of the order were missing. I called the restaurant back and told them about the missing items that I was charged for. I requested a refund on the missing items and he said he would do that. Still to date, no refund. They still have the old Panda garden neon sign up on road side. So beware if new to town. I'm on the fence giving 3or 4 stars... 4 stars for the food. Nice to have good full flavored Chinese that is fresh, authentic and Szechuan spices too. I've ordered three times. Twice takeout and dined in once. Dine in food was fast to table. Yaaaaay!!! Finally some good Szechuan in the giggity!!!!!! Sometimes you just feel like almond chicken and sweet and sour whatever's the way you had with your grandparents when you were a kid. Mind you... I've only had a small portion of the menu, but I can guarantee I will be back. Had sweet & sour chicken, veggie egg rolls (which are spring rolls, but the price is right and they're rad, almond chicken and beef fried rice. Chicken was super crispy and they actually use good chicken. It's not either dried out like jerky inside, or so small you can't tell it from the breading. Sauces were traditional S&S and almond gravy which is exactly what we were looking for. The fried rice I legit just broke open at 6am because it's that good. Got it to go, so I can't speak on the dine in service, but it was ready in fifteen minutes and the staff was super friendly. 100% will be returning. read more
