Been here twice and both times have been lovely! Most recent time was a few days into the new year so Christmas decorations were still up which made the restaurant very cozy on a blustery rainy day. I was treating my mom to a birthday lunch where she enjoyed the most amazingly textured and light salmon cakes with the best dipping sauce over a beautiful Caesar with an oyster Caesar dressing. I had an equally as impressive mushroom bucatini and while I'd usually add a protein to my pasta this one did not need it so I skipped it and did not regret that as the medley of mushrooms was just so flavor packed and plentiful. Ordered the $24 'French Kiss' burger...ordered it medium rare to which the waitress said 'ok' as she took my order. At that price, I expected a thick burger that would be cooked to order...something like you'd get in a steakhouse or a French restaurant. The burger comes with au jus, furthering that expectation. Burger showed up, torched through, completely brown all the way through. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said 'oh, it's a smashburger, we can't cook it to medium rare'. Ok, well first of all $24 for a smashburger is nuts. No mention of that on the menu. If I want a smashburger, I'll pay $6-8 at a food truck. And second, why didn't you tell me that when you took my order for a medium-rare burger? I would have ordered something else. And the cup Au Jus was thicker than I expected, more like a sauce, rather than something to dip your burger in. Strange. Skip the $24 (smash)burger, get something else. I recently visited this restaurant for lunch on Valentine's Day with my husband. While parking around the area can be a little hard, this restaurant has a parking lot for customers which made things so much easier. Upon entering you have a view of the water towards the back through several larger windows with the option to eat on the balcony. The service was great as the waitress we had was very attentive. We ordered the steam clams, meatball sandwich and a burger. All of the food was delicious. I would recommend trying this place out. I can't wait to come back in the summer to eat outside with the view. read more

Ashley was an amazing server. Paid attention to us, but not too much. The restaurant was very helpful in accommodating my gluten free restrictions to my very happy satisfaction. My salmon was very nice and the sauce underneath was delicious. Would definitely come back. Caution - If you park in the lot above you need to navigate a lot of steps. We decided to spin over to the "other side" of the new home town for something a little more sophisticated. Morso was already buzzing when we arrived at 6:00. That said, we were seated promptly (it was a Monday night) and our server arrived quickly. We took his recommendation and ordered the meatballs for an appetizer. The menu is seasonal, so your mileage may vary. We followed with the special gnocchi and the Morso burger (another recommendation). While we waited for food we looked around. It's a cute place that I didn't expect from the outside. The patio is huge (Euro sized) with lots of great seating overlooking the harbor. We enjoyed the European atmosphere of the restaurant and the very friendly service. The meatballs lived up to the recommendation. They were very flavorful with a good seasoning. Apparently they use the meatballs in a sandwich at lunch. The seasonal gnocchi was fantastic! Great flavors! The Morso burger was another good recommendation. The burger party itself is very flavorful (seasoned, not plain) and the toppings are great accompaniments. We thought we were done until we saw the dessert menu... Next up: a strawberry& rhubarb oatmeal crisp ( I rhubarb) and the Meyer lemon cheesecake. We loved Morso and highly recommend a visit. read more

Me and my friend came here for happy hour, it's a wonderful little spot that looks out at the water. It's really clean and cute and the menu can accommodate most people. I've been here several times. I really enjoy the view, and the service is terrific. Me and my friend got my favorite- the meatballs (excellent), bread with herb butter (yum), a cup of the seafood chowder, which was good -nothing spectacular; and the flatbread, which was pretty good. We each had a beer or two and enjoyed the ambience and the view of the water on a nice sunny day. I think it would be a nice touch to have some instrumental music or something going on at happy hour. It was just kind of quiet even though the tables did fill up. It's a very popular place and it's delicious. I also wish there was just another item or two available for the happy hour menu or if they changed it up sometimes. I definitely will be back. It's one of my favorite little spots for happy hour. My husband, friends, and I came here for dinner. We were able to be seated on a Monday night without any reservations. There's 2 rooms for seating. Our server Heidi was the best and sweetest! For drinks, they split a bottle of cabernet and I got the lavender lemon cocktail which is under mocktails but she suggested adding vodka in it and it was SO good. For appetizers, we did the baguette, salmon cakes, and clams. The herb/olive oil was unreal and the salmon cakes were delicious! I don't like clams but my husband and friends devoured them so super good. For our entrees, 3 of us got the steak frites and 1 for the gnocchi pasta. The steak frites were to die for and they'll be coming off the menu soon so highly recommend to get it before it's all gone!! Would definitely come back here! read more

Morso is a beautiful wine bar overlooking Gig Harbor. I had a little trouble finding the entrance, but once inside the open dining room, surrounded by big windows overlooking the harbor, I found it very inviting. I opted for a seat at the bar; but longed to be outside on the patio. But it was chilly and didn't look like it was open, so I didn't bother to ask. But it had the best view of Mt. Rainer for sure. Service was welcoming and had the right amount of attentiveness to let me enjoy the view and food in peace all the while ensuring I was happy and felt taken care of. Since I was just getting a quick lunch I opted to try the seafood chowder and the Herb & Ricotta Meatballs along with the seasonal Autumn Sangria. The sangria reminded me of mulled wine, but on the lighter side and severed over ice. It was sweet with hints of spice. I really enjoyed the chowder though I didn't find much shrimp or salmon in it, but lots of clam. The flavor was fantastic and having the grilled bread to dip in it almost reminded me of a grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. The Herb + Ricotta Meatballs were very hot when they came out so I had to let them cool a while. The tomato basil sauce was on the sweet side to me, but I know some like that. The meatballs were OK, but I'd probably try something else next go around. Overall a pleasant experience. And next time I will ask to sit outside, even if I'm all alone ;) read more

First off this has nothing to do with the food it was absolutely delicious. We came here on my mom's 60th birthday and were told as a birthday special she would receive a free dessert, the time came and went for our dessert and we ended up having to pay for it. That's ironic. The craziest part was we didn't even ask, the option was presented to us. However the biggest matter at hand was our server, she had the WORST attitude, she was incredibly unpleasant and honestly it ruined our experience. We were on a trip to see some family drove 10 hours to arrive in Gig Harbor needless to say a long day and we were starving. It was a Tuesday night around 7 pm. Place looked cute inside setting is nice, I ordered Butternut squash gnocchi, it sounded amazing and I was very excited, my husband ordered their flat bread pizza. Upon receiving our food I looked down at my tummy long awaited gnocchi and was like did I order an appetizer???!??? It was appetizer size both of our orders, 10 gnocchis on my plate...... husband had ice tea our waitress never came to check on us after we received our food and my husband was dying of thirst because they never refilled his tea once. I am 50 years old and have never left a restaurant hungry in my life, the food was delicious but expensive as hell for dinner that was appetizer size!!! This is an awesome place to have a nice dinner at a friendly, clean and neighborhood spot with a million dollar view of the Gig Harbor marina and Rainier when she's out. Quality wine selection - but the locals know to visit the small room for a very high quality wine selection that is off menu. The food is first rate, not an extensive menu but all of it is excellent. To get there you must either climb down or up a set of stairs. So if mobility is an issue, beware. For us it was, but slow and steady was the way we made it. We ordered two appetizers, but they took so long that the main course was done when they were done, so everything was served at the same time. Not cool. Appetizers were warm olives and crab cakes. Olives were OK, crab cakes were good. Main courses were two Sausage and Pepper flatbreads and two Pear + Chicken Salads. The flatbreads ("Pizza") were ok, but the pear and chicken salads really lacked the pear and chicken -- it was mostly just lettuce. The metal and concrete in the restaurant created a lot of ambient noise, but fortunately they weren't too busy. Service was ok. We do not plan to return. read more

She was so sweet, accommodating, professional and very suggestive! We took her recommendations for the Herbed Chèvre Dip and the Lemon Cheesecake!! Phenomenal! My boyfriend and I each started with a Pinot Grigio and Pinot noir which was an excellent choice. A lovely setting with a great view. Our waitress was attentive and my wine was good - the cocktail list was interesting. The food was a disappointment. The artichoke and prosciutto flatbread was very mediocre and didn't match the description from the menu--instead of an artichoke pesto topping, the flatbread had a spicy artichoke jalapeño spread on it. Greasy, gummy and too spicy. The salmon cakes were tiny and very obviously not house made and the Caesar salad had too much dressing while the lettuce was wilted. Ok - I can't believe that I've lived in Gig Harbor for six years and I've never been here. I assumed it was a wine bar and I don't drink. It is an amazing restaurant with phenomenal view! The wait staff are adorable and so helpful. I took my girlfriend who was visiting from out of town so she could enjoy a nice glass of wine and I was blown away! I ate way too much but everything was delicious. We ordered the warm goat cheese appetizer, the meatball sandwich and the prosciutto and burrata salad. Well they had changed the salad to summer peach and burrata but the waitress was quick to take it off the bill and we still enjoyed it. They got very busy as the time went on but the waitresses (didn't see any guys) were all so helpful and took care of each others tables. I think Morso Bistro is the best restaurant in Gig Harbor, and here's why: It's casual and comfortable, the service is friendly and informal, the food is great, the wine list is very nice, and everything is reasonably priced. Now for the details: We had a late lunch, so we didn't order a lot of food for dinner. We got the meatballs (four in an order, cheesy, saucy, and delicious), the greens+grain salad (good, and good for you), seafood chowder (very delicious), and salmon cakes (also very delicious). We ordered a very nice Oregon Pinot that went perfectly with everything. They also have a nice by-the-glass list that is also reasonably priced. They have a nice, big bar, too, which is a good thing for people dining solo. read more
