Devoted Kiss Cafe was a restaurant we had in mind to go to when we were coming back from a trip from Port Townsend. We left there early and by the time we reached Gig Harbor we were most certainly in the mood for breakfast. Apparently lots of other people did to and also it must frequently that idea in town as it was quite busy. We were informed that there was a wait but it wasn't a bad one and the restaurant looked highly enticing so we put our names on the list. When we were called we sat at the bar. Which was fine... we weren't about to be choosey. We ordered our food and we enjoyed immensely when we got it. I got a waffle with strawberries and cream which was amazing! The waffle was perfection, the fruit was fresh. Just wonderful! I also saw breakfast potatoes and they looked great too so I ordered some of those too. No big surprise... they were excellent! Steve and I both got a Bloody Mary and it was so good! It had a nice, spicy kick to it and was great! Some mornings call for a Bloody Mary and this one fit the bill nicely! This has to be the 1st time, I've gone to a hyped up Restaurant and it held up to the hype. We got blessed as we didnt have to wait for a seat. We got in our Server Victoria was A1. She knew the menu was able to tell is what is good, she offered solid recommendations. She returned often to check on us to make sure we were ready, when she saw we were confused she was willing to stay and have a brief conversation about what we should order, I told her I wanted to try everything (jokingly) and she mentioned they do 1/2 plates. She said I can get 1/2 biscuits & gravy & 1/2 corned beef hash. I was immediately sold as I wanted both of those. It was the PERFECT pairing. The best gravy I've ever had it was thick and it didnt make the amazing biscuit it was smothered in soggie. How? I dont know, I just come to consume lol. Some of my favorites are Devo's favorite and the ham and egg croissant, but everything here is awesome. Except the wait on the weekends, but you can see why. The coffee was hot and our food was delicious. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, and honestly at first I was expecting lox like I've had at other restaurants. Here you get a full chunk of actual smoked salmon filet, way more filling and meal worthy if you ask me. Their fresh hollandaise sauce is so creamy and is literally the best sauce I've had in my life. And in between benny bites I used the potatoes to soak up that saucy goodness on the plate. Every bite was perfect! My husband enjoyed his carne asada breakfast tacos, and he's usually picky on his breakfast haha. The meat was juicy and has an authentic carne asada flavor.
