Just in time for a pastry with raisins and a delicious black coffee. Nice seating on the street side.

Such a great bakery! Everything tasted really fresh, and the staff member who helped me was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The whole place has a good vibe, and you can tell they care about what they're making. I'd definitely go back and recommend it to others.

This shop is so cute and is located in a great, busy spot. They have a lot of seating and even some parking on the side. The staff was really kind and working efficiently getting the crowd taken care of. They make their items onsite and you can taste the freshness and the quality of the ingredients. We had a savory bacon and cheese scone that was tender and delicious! The peach coffee cake was moist and had chunks of peach in it. The sticky bum defies words...YUM!!! I regret we did not get a picture of the Morning muffin, it was a triumph!! . It was light and airy dough wrapped in a circle with brûlée'd style sugar all over it. Not too much, just enough to give the pastor a crunchy and slightly sweet touch. I recommend you go get one.

In town for appointment and it was a great excuse to stop at one of the best bakeries in the region. Some of the best croissants ever, along with other treats that are variations of croissants. Muffins, tarts, cinammon rolls, and sandwiches if it's lunch time or get one to go for later. I had Marion berry tart that was so good. Lots of berries on top of flaky tart. The caramel latte complimented my choice. Grabbed a loaf of sourdough for home. Comfortable seating inside and out. Friendly staff and all just a short walk from scenic waterfront in Gig Harbor.

i'm visiting from west seattle and my friend who lives here and knows i love pastries said we should come to have a baked good and a beverage. i walked by with my dog very early this morning, knowing that it wouldn't be open until later but i wanted to see where it was and scope it out. two hours later we show up and there's some people in line and on the back patio but nothing too crazy. i got a day old sourdough loaf that'll be great for lunches for the upcoming work week. we also ordered two pastries and two coffees. since my friend is a local and semi regular, she tried to explain that the pastries in the case were mislabeled and got little response from the two young people working the counter. the kouign amman was labeled cheese danish and vice versa and she pointed that out so that weekend visitors to the bakery who were just going on looks might not order something that had ingredients they were intolerant to, etc. the drinks took a while and when she tasted her latte, her immediate reaction was that it didn't taste as it normally does. my iced chai tasted diluted and far more milky than chai flavored. my sticky bun was incredible and she got a cheese danish which she stands by as, "THE BEST!" all told, this wasn't a terrible experience by any means; it seemed like possibly new employees on an early saturday morning or possibly the need to have employees learn some of the ropes to a more accurate extent before leaving them to interact with long lines of people? by the time we left around 9:15, there was a line out the door and the front and rear patio tables were full (as you'd expect from a known beverage and pastry location) so people are clearly going to have their gluten fix in gig harbor this morning and i'll hope that next time i'm here the beverages are closer in taste and quality to what my friend raves about as the norm.

Cute and quaint little bakery with a small variety of sandwiches, paninis, and latte drink items. We were walking around the area and wanted a hot drink to take the chill off. Although we didn't try any of the bakery or sandwich items, they did look delicious, making this a must visit again spot. I ordered a 12 oz hot latte with sugar free hazelnut, my husband ordered a 20 oz hot chai latte, both with almond milk (they have a good choice of milk alternatives). We got our drinks fast and hot. The staff were friendly. I'd come back to try the food and baked goods, the coffee was decent but good to drink while you're walking around the marina areas on a crisp day.

I went to Susanne's Bakery for a lunch with three others on a weekend. We sat outside because the inside was full, and there was a nice area with a few tables. I ordered half of a turkey panini with a side of pesto pasta, then got strawberry cake for dessert after. I was very happy with the quality of the food. The panini was delicious and I loved the brie and apple combination, the pesto pasta was nice and tasty, and the strawberry cake was light and so yummy. I'd definitely come here again, though it gets and stays busy because it's a pretty popular place.

Pastrami sandwich was yummy & warm

Very cute bakery in Gig Harbor. Delicious pasty & sandwiches. Great service. Restroom inside, very clean. Outside eating available. Pet friendly. We went back the next day for more and were disappointed because it was closed.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

When we walked up to the checkout, the cashier and the employee bagging groceries were engaged in a conversation and laughing together. We completely understand that employees interact with one another, but once customers are at the register, they should feel acknowledged. The only thing the cashier said was while handing me the receipt, and it was so quiet I couldn't even understand what was said. The lack of even basic acknowledgment made us feel like an interruption rather than valued customers. Metropolitan Market has always had a reputation for exceptional service, which is why this experience was so surprising and disappointing. We were greeted right away and given water then we ordered: a piece of banana bread French toast with bacon (kid), the dkc biscuit-wich, and the corned beef (along with coffees for the adults and a milk for kid). They don't have a published kid menu but will make adjustments for kid meals (like our daughter's 1 piece of French toast). I think her meal ended up rung up about $10 plus $2.50 kids milk). Coffee came in large cups so we never ran out (they did refill periodically). A little wait for food which was within reason for how busy they were. We all loved our food. Our kid devoured her banana bread French toast and we both loved our meals. We did end up with take home boxes for leftovers (which I noticed a lot of people had!). I looked around and saw other diners with interesting meals that I wanted to try. When we were leaving a little later (maybe 9:45 am), there was a wait of probably 4 tables. Restaurant still busy. Bathrooms were clean, we parked on the street outside the restaurant but saw some people park a little farther and walk, restaurant buzzed with activity (a little noisy but within reason for number of people). This would be a nice spot to bring an out of town visitor to, if you can make it early or don't mind a wait. Food is worth it.

The almond croissant was packed with ingredients, with a thick, rich layer of processed almond filling in the middle. The texture was great--highly recommended!
