Brekkie, sub the gluten free toast option.

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. The current reviews do not do it justice. I had been out running errands, close to my house, when I realized that I needed to find someplace amazing for food! I found this gem on Yelp, and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant is absolutely full of locals who the staff knows and they know the staff. A sweet couple next to me told me to come try "German night" sometime (reservation needed). Excellent service this morning from Fiona and Ivy. I have my service dog with me, they didn't give me any flack, even tho my service dog need is not visible at first glance. I ordered the eggs, bacon, and potato brekkie. Normally their potatoes are deep fried yet I asked if they had a potato option for me that was grilled instead. They happily accommodated my request. I had the gluten free toast, which was this delicious croissant type brekkie bread. This was my first trip here, and definitely not my last. I think I've found a new local favorite!!!

New to the area and first time visiting.. Really enjoyed breakfast there. Nice little quint spot. The servers were nice and the food was good. Nothing spectacular but jus cool

Chicken and biscuit gravy etc..soooo good.

Some mor breakfast my family had after picking up at airport our first stop! Hash browns are super and not just the cooked frozen ones 95% of restaurants buy either: I often take half of them home for next morning to have with eggs.

Herb forward on the chicken fried steak and gravy which isn't bad but is different. I received great service and the place had the small town hole in the wall feel which I like.

Cozy cafe in Fircrest which has been serving up quality meals for several years.Three of us were well pleased with our choices for breakfast.Servers were efficient and the coffee mugs never got empty.Large portions can be a struggle but half portions are available for a few dollars less. Not a big place....two and three tops.Counter space.TV's are rarely on and WiFi doesn't exist.Hey!Have a conversation.Good food, breakfast or lunch.

Best. Chicken. Fried. Steak. In. Town. Years ago I found a random small cafe after a drunken night in town and had what I would later declare to be the best chicken fried steak ever. It took me years to find the cafe again, and I came back dreading for my declaration to be proven wrong now that I wasn't plagued by hungover cravings. I am proud to declare that they still have the best chicken fried steak after all these years. Seriously, if you love chicken fried steak do yourself a favor and try this one.

Love this gem!! First time to Tacoma and we were looking for small businesses in the community. I selected this place based on other tellers reviews and of course wanted a try to fresh sauces. This place did not disappoint!! I ordered the blueberry waffle with eggs and toast. My hubby had the breakfast burrito with a short stack and my brother had the breakfast combo. I asked if they had offered any freshly baked pastries. She said the cook "makes this apple and peach cobbler- using the freshest ingredients. In fact he makes all our sauces homemade. He also makes this very delicious peanut butter pie. Very tempting but we went for the peach cobbler. She brought out the cobbler -added whipped cream with a bit of the peach cobbler as well. Oooohhhh mmmyyyy!! So delicious!!! Hard to describe you have to stop in and try it. All our dishes came out and each one of them was off the chart! Waffle was so fluffy and full of berries. My hubby burrito didn't stay on the plate too long. This was a great find and the service was above and beyond. My brother has marked it as "a must come back" place!!

I asked for 1/2 coffee & half cocoa and was served this adorable start to my day.

Tibbitts @ Fern Hill is a spot that I've had on my list for brunch for YEARS. Finally, just…read morefinally, made it in this past weekend with my husband, sister, and dad. Without a doubt this is one of Tacoma's best dining experiences. Chef Shawn's team is small but mighty. The staff that we encountered were all super kind and attentive. It's widely known that Chef Shawn has a radiant personality and treats everybody in his restaurant like a longtime friend. He walked around chatting with everybody personally, showed off dishes as he walked through the restaurant, and was even happy to let diners take a peek at his kitchen (how does he make all this magic happen on TWO CAMP STOVES?!) The menu isn't massive, but everything on the menu is executed with precision and grace. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but I've had my eyes on the Lobster Bomb for years. My husband got the "Tiny Burrito" which is quite literally the size of a newborn. The Lobster Bomb was excellent. Generous chunks of succulent lobster and the hollandaise was perfect! Subtle on the lemon flavor as to not overpower, but still rich and creamy. I tried my husband's burrito and the chorizo gravy is stellar. You could easily share this with 1-2 other people in my opinion. It lasted my husband two leftover meals! The restaurant itself is small but it's cozy and feels like you're at home. No frills, nothing over the top, nothing trendy. Just a relaxed vibe with lots of authentic touches from Chef Shawn. While this was our first visit it definitely won't be our last. Don't make the mistake I did and let years pass by before you experience Tibbitts!

I ordered PAC SOUTH omelette. No green onions, chose hash browns instead of toast and had side biscuit and gravy. Unfortunately the hash browns were really crackly dry. Maybe I should've had the red potatoes instead. The Omelette was surprisingly good. The sweetness of the pork with the bbq sauce was fascinating and tasty. If I had it again I'd ask to add a squirt of bbq inside or ask for more sauce on top. Hubby ordered the Shrimp and Grits. They were great and better than most places we've had them out. Hubby crumbled his side of bacon on top. They were Creamy, savory, cheesy and served piping hot. Jenny said sometimes people ask to add andouille sausage or catfish on top. Last - OMG that was a THICK biscuit! It was super dense. The gravy was delicious. But the biscuit takes up most the room on the plate. So my gravy to biscuit ratio was off. I still took half my omelet and half my biscuit in a to go box. Left the hash browns. They have BIG portions. Amazing atmosphere and service. If you come in from the front door there is a small counter seating area as well as booths and tables. Beyond that main room there is more space in the back. Well, I've had the club sandwich which she said was very good and I'll tell you what happened from the looks of it it was definitely good. I had the pastrami Benedict, I will say that that missed the mark. There are two reasons that really miss the mark. One of them was the hollandaise sauce, which was extremely runny and a very pale yellow, which told me that they added too much liquid to it, and there wasn't enough fat or it was just a powdered mix and they over mixed it, and it had no flavor to it. The main reason I was disappointed was the pastrami they used, they used deli, sliced pastrami and chopped it up. If you're going to have a pastrami Benedict on your menu, make sure it's actual pastrami chunks and it is tender. The deli pastrami did not have any flavor to it. I asked our server about it and she said that one of the other girls that worked there really liked it and she ate it all the time, but it was too spicy for her. I will tell you right now. There was literally no spice to that dish at all nor was there seasoning. I would go back and try something different as everything else on the menu looks good and I give every breakfast restaurant at least two tries.

The menu seems very similar to the Sacramento location, but I'm giving 4 stars because they don't carry the one dessert I've been seriously craving: Turkish delight! The Sacramento location has it and I was definitely hoping to grab some here but I didn't see any on display or on the menu :( The milk cakes were thankfully just as good and super consistent between locations. We ordered the pistachio milk cake and the caramel milk cake (different pricing, depending on flavor probably). Both were incredibly moist, flavorful, and just really delicious. If you've never tried the milk cakes here, I definitely recommend them. They taste high quality, for sure, and a perfect treat for a sweet tooth. I had my husband try one for the first time since he likes caramel, and he immediately said it tasted so fancy he felt like he should be sticking his pinky out while eating it lol. I told him it *is* around $10 a slice, after all. We stopped by on a weekday afternoon and the parking lot was busy and the café itself was packed, so it definitely seems like a popular spot.
