To start, The Bair is very cute and quaint. We really enjoyed the aesthetic at The Bair and it felt very homey. We ordered basic breakfasts but they were good. I loved how crispy the bacon was. The one downside and the reason it's not five stars is it took an extremely long time to receive our food. The restaurant didn't seem too busy and based on the fact that we ordered very basic meals, I was not expecting to wait the amount of time we did for the food. We were also only checked on once during our meal, and again, the restaurant is not large so I was a bit surprised by that. All in all, I think we may be back but it is not our first choice for a breakfast spot.

Such a quaint little restaurant tucked in the old Hardware Store located on the Main Street through Steilacoom. The service is exceptional, the menu has a variety of options for breakfast and lunch. We have been there many times for breakfast and have enjoyed the food. Today my husband had the steak, egg, and potatoes while I had the spiced chicken scramble made into a burrito. We will definitely return!

Local favorite with classic brunch type food daily. The decor is a bit of a living museum dating back to the 1800's. The servers are kind and knowledgeable about the menu options. Food can be a bit bland. Nothing a dash of salt of sprinkle of gravy, hollandaise sauce or egg yolk can't improve. Sausage was good but food was average on this trip.

Loved this place so much. I ordered Latte only- didn't know this is a brunch place. We were there for Soda fountain and ice cream- old times treat. But the fountain is broken. It will be back in a few months. Service was excellent. My latte was superb! Great atmosphere. Great customer service. Will back soon for brunch !

The ambiance was very quaint and the service was fantastic. The food was yummy and my friends enjoyed their meals as well.

We had to wait very briefly to be sat. There are limited tables and it's a popular spot. This is not my first rodeo here, and it's been a minutes since visiting but this is my first review... unfortunately. The staff were all friendly and constantly on the move. We were ordering 2 mimosas and the person taking the order said that a carafe was $24 so it's cheaper. The carafe is $29, I can deal with a $5 difference and we all flub things up at times. Our food came and smelled great. The Benedict was cold; the omelette piping hot. Again, it happens it was just disappointing. No one stopped by until we were done eating to ask if we needed anything and then left. The person bussing tables came to take our dishes and they graciously went to request our bill. We weren't sure if we go up front to pay and someone else helped us. It was a bit confusing and we weren't sure if it's a group effort or what but we never saw the person we ordered with except to drop the bill. Overall it left a meh for us. Will I come back? Probably. Will I go out of my way to make my way here? Maybe not. But they're definitely a busy spot and popular in Steilacoom.

Beautiful restaurant! I loved that they have tons of gluten free options! They're also dog friendly with a pretty outdoor covered patio with a water view! The gluten free pancakes were decent for gluten free. The gf bread in the eggs Benedict was good, and the eggs were cooked perfectly with runny yolks! There wasn't much GF hollandaise on my florentine eggs Benedict, but I asked for more and they gave me a bunch for free! The glutinous challah French toast was good, thick and fluffy, but not eggy in the middle. Some people prefer it soaked longer, like me. The hot chocolate was huge with a ton of good whipped cream with chocolate sauce and cocoa on top! Overall it was a great breakfast place!

The food was amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly. They have a new thing that had feta on it. It was perfect.

They make gluten free options! Little local place in Steilacoom! Friendly and welcoming people! One of my faves!

Came to this restaurant with friends to have some drinks and appetizers on a Labor Day afternoon…read more We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by the hostess who was less than friendly (meaning that it appeared she would rather be somewhere else than here). however, we were seated shortly after. After a short time, the server came to out table and took out drink orders. I chose the Bloody Mary first and then the Margarita after. The bloody Mary had an awesome piece of bacon and two olives. The drink however was weak in the vodka department. I wasn't impressed with the drink at all. The margarita was actually better and was served in a clay glass. This was really nice because it kept the margarita cold and the ice did not melt fast like it does in a glass. I definitely have to get a set of the clay glasses for home. The appetizers we ordered were the flatbread, some calamari, fried pickle spears, and some peach and cold cut stuff on bread (I don't remember what it was called). The fried pickle spears were great! The other stuff were not impressive at all (for me). The only way I can explain my dissatisfaction is that they. Could be great appetizers, but in their attempt to be fancy, they added something that just ruined the flavor of the dish. I've been here before for lunch in the past and had the burger, and it was okay, but nothing to rave about. My second visit here was my attempt to give it a second chance. The view from the outdoor seating is spectacular. The Puget Sound and the treeless golf course makes it a great place to watch the boats and golfers. There is no shade, so wear a hat if visiting outside seating.. I can't say that everyone will have my experience here. Is this restaurant worth a try? Yes, it is worth a try if here playing golf or find yourself in the area. I just wouldn't go out of my way to dine or have drinks at this restaurant. The Tacoma and surrounding area have much better restaurants at more reasonable prices.

I did like the large pieces of ahi, avocado, mango, and seaweed salad sprinkled on top of the nachos. The service was a slow and request for a water refills took a little longer. I was considering ordering a cocktail, however decided not to as it may increase the wait time. Despite the long wait, the servers were very nice, I would definitely come back and retry this restaurant and see if the experience is different and warrant
