    Roasted beet salad

Went to try vine river for breakfast and they didn't disappoint! Got to see a good friend and new waitress there so that made a nice experience even better! As you walk in there's a sense of calm and the reggae music played inside a bistro is a completely different move, but it works! We got 2 breakfast meals and one roasted beet salad to share. Tried the lavender honey latte too and that was also tasted! Will definitely have to try dinner here!

We've been to this location before when it was Gather Gastropub but since they closed and changed owners we decided to give the reopening a taste and boy did it not disappoint! We ordered the Cheese Curds to start, then the chicken and waffles plus the biscuits and gravy! The cheese curds were AMAZING! The outer shell was perfect and the flavor was out of this world. What I loved about the biscuits and gravy was that the biscuits had the perfect crunch, not soggy under the gravy at all. The waffle flavor was absolute chef's kiss too. The service was great. Fast and we never had to ask for refills which was so nice. We'll definitely be back to try more of their food and desserts!

First time in and fell in love. Small menu and everything is made with love. We started with the fried polenta...I am still dreaming about it...try it!!! The staff was family kind of friendly and feel like new friends. Met the chef and owner and this is her baby. Loves what she is doing and loves her staff and customers. Can't wait to try the brunch and will be back for the hubby's birthday.

I went to Kravins, The new name for the coffee house, that used to be called Shiplap it's located…read morein the center of Old Town Yelm, WA. I had great expectations but was sadly disappointed. First of all, you must realize there's tons of coffee places in Washington, especially in Yelm I can count about 9 places that sell coffee on the main Street. I'm not even counting the half dozen gas stations either . Most of them are little drive-thru structures. This one is a brick and mortar in town. And unfortunately people are lazy and like to drive through and get their beverages. So that's sort of a negative for Kravins. You need to make that place a coffee house. Someone is willing to get out of their car for. The former business was really adorable. They had some really cute unique vintage stuff in there shop. They had a business that did Do-It-Yourself terrariums in the back. It was very unique and it was sad that they didn't make it due to lack of support of this town. The rule of thumb is when you take over a business you need to make it better and more interesting . I went in the other day, because I heard they had soup there a while back. They no longer sell soup. So that's strike one. Their baked goods looked like they had bought them from the grocery store instead of either sourcing them from someone unique or baking them themselves. There are plenty of bakers that are independent in this town that you could source some really amazing baked goods from if you don't want to do it yourself. You need something like that to bring people in. I don't know why you don't have a soup and salad bar that would take your business to the next level. The cute shop and vintage items are gone and have been replaced with boring gift store items. Tim's pharmacy has the most unique items and they're right across the street. Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel with some humdrum stuff? I'm giving you free advice if you want to make that business go. You have to make it shine and be so unique. Even the drinks have to be different. I purchased a small smoothie that cost me almost $8 and it wasn't good. It was extremely sweet and it had a strange taste to it. Based on that visit I would never come back and I wouldn't recommend you to anybody. You have a really nice shop there. You need to really bring it up to the next level. You need to serve some sort of soup and salad. Something unique. Forget the sandwiches. Those are everywhere or if you make sandwiches they have to be different. People are looking for something new. Also you want to make it a place people want to come and hang out. It's not charming anymore with the gift shop hanging there. Hopefully you fix it. Turn it into a little restaurant.

She also ordered the blueberry cheesecake pancake that was pretty good. Sister 2 ordered chicken and waffles. That was a high piece of chicken. This was pretty good. I ordered the American omelette that I thought was pretty good. Unfortunately, no rice. Potatoes were well seasoned. Shelly offered to call me and talk things through, offering creative ways for us to be able to save on spending; paying in cash to reduce card fees, reducing staff by using disposable plates, moving to one protein, etc. We didn't end up needing to do most of these things, but regardless, she indicated she was on our team and would do whatever she could to help us. She was beyond patient with me and kind the whole way through as I went back and forth on what to do. I had endless questions for weeks before booking. On wedding day, everything went off without a hitch. Her team showed up in professional attire, were kind, respectful, and prompt. They were so sweet and kept telling us how beautiful everything was and how grateful they were to be there. The food was SO GOOD. So good in fact we put the leftover scalloped potatoes, prime rib, and artichoke chicken straight in the freezer on wedding night and are just about to run out. It is still just as good now reheated in the oven! And the desserts went QUICK. If I could change anything, I would have ordered extra. We have too many sweet lovers in the family!

However, I was disappointed with the service. I chose not to buy a plastic bag, but I expected the cashier to place my individually wrapped pastries into one paper bag, as they have done during my previous visits. Instead, I had to carry each one separately to my car. I don't know if it was because I didn't leave a tip, but it made me feel that way. It left me with a disappointing impression of the customer service.

The Homie selected a six pack of Bacon Swiss pandesals. I was conservative and opted for one classic cheese ensaymada. We were convinced to try a freebie and The Homie selected the ube cheese pandesal. I was skeptical because I'm not much of a ube person. However, when we split it to share in the parking lot....omg that was pretty amazing! I was very tempted to go back inside and buy more. However, I refrained knowing our car trunk was already full of various carbs purchased from other places in Parkland and Lakewood. The Puget Sound region is lucky to have choices in Everett, Lynnwood, Seattle, Tukwila, Kent, and here in Lakewood. But nothing yet are comparable to a particular bakery in SoCal and of course, my late father's pandesal and ensaymadas. NBrothers Bakeshop, a worthy detour if in the Lakewood Towne Center vicinity!
