Really good food and excellent friendly service! My husband and I are always on the lookout for a good restaurant near our cabin in Eatonville, and I'm so glad we decided to give this place to try. We've had some good BBQ, and this place was great! I ordered the bowl with brisket and my husband ordered the pulled pork combo. Both delicious and we loved the spicy BBQ sauce. Okay so here's the thing about barbecue Washington state does not have a lot of good barbecue in general so I wasn't expecting a lot from this place out in the middle of yelm that's tucked away and kind of hard to find. But I was totally wrong The ribs were some of the best barbecue ribs I've had here in this state and fall off the bone juicy. I kind of expected like it most other barbecue places for the price point that you would only be getting a half rack of ribs but no you get a full rack of juicy delicious well seasoned dry rubs and it was only like $30 sides were delicious as well personally was a big fan of the mac and cheese and they have the good french fries not that crinkle cut crap. Where to start... I've been passing by this place for a literal year and finally stopped by with my husband today. You order at the food truck and then you can take it to go, sit inside, or outside in the patio area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So much seating and everything was spotless and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food took maybe 5 minutes to get out and I'm telling you the smell and look of everyone's else food we passed by had me drooling already. We ordered the loaded brisket fries(w/o sour cream) and the Pulled pork breakfast burrito. When I tell you the size of the burrito could have fed a family of 4 I'm not exaggerating. It's well over 3 pounds. This was so freaken delicious. I mean everything about it all the flavors complimented each other and the spicy bbq sauce was out of this world. The loaded fries.... The most perfectly crispy potato fries covered in cheese and a huge amount of brisket. We got a side of homemade ranch and spicy bbq sauce so we could dip everything in sauce! I'm a bbq sauce snob and ranch snob both of these sauce were delicious. I literally couldn't stop stuffing my face. I was in a trance at this point. The gentleman who owns this delicious restaurant happened to be there and we had a great conversation he went above and beyond. We won't soon forget your kindness and that of your staff as well. We were also lucky enough to catch a glimpse of their adorable frenchie named brisket. As the beautiful summer months approach give these guys a visit you won't be disappointed. Steele Barrel BBQ Company absolutely stole the show at the South Sound BBQ Festival this past Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Huntamer Park in Lacey! I hit up quite a few BBQ vendors there, but their Brisket Mac & Cheese was seriously next-level. Hands down the best thing I ate all day, and it genuinely smoked the competition (pun intended)! I even reached out to them because I couldn't find it on their online menu, and the owner, Steele Clayton, was super quick to respond. Turns out, you can get it as a loaded option online, or it's always available on their paper menus at their Yelm location. If you're ever in the area and craving some top-tier BBQ, you have to check them out. I'll definitely be visiting their location soon to get more of that Brisket Mac & Cheese, and I'm excited to try some of their other items as well! Our breakfast items, the brisket and gravy and the Loco Moco Plate, were so good. We came in with the desire to check out their fresh homemade biscuits and they did not disappoint! The brisket gravy was very good. The Loco Moco was satisfying with rice, a massive meat patty and egg on top. Formerly the Cattleman restaurant. Had lunch here recently. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich, which comes with fries, smoked chicken thigh, and mac & cheese. Pork was dry and the spicy bbq sauce tasted like ketchup with zero spice. Smoked chicken thigh was ok but only one per order $$$. Mac and cheese was bland, soupy and made with overcooked pene pasta. Get up and order on your own, bus your own table, but want 15%, 20%, or 25% tip on the options. Serving sizes were a little small. A quick tour through Yelm, before heading to a monasterial retreat for the weekend, I could smell the delicious bbq before even seeing Steele Barrel Company food truck, dinner was decided on quickly! A quick glance through their many bbq choices, I decided on a brisket sandwich with fries, and a root beer from the ice chest outside the truck. Even with it being a busy Friday evening, service was friendly and the food was quickly delivered. Plenty of tender brisket with a bit of tangy bbq sauce, probably the most generously made brisket sandwich I've had, and no fat at all. Very tasty and filling, fries also plenty, crispy on the outside, tender inside, a delicious quick meal. Would definitely recommend stopping by,when going through Yelm. Good BBQ at a good price. Had their food for the first time back in Oct from their food truck. Drove from Lacey to Yelm because it was the best BBQ I have had since moving here from Texas. I am so glad that the taste and quality was consistent as the first time I tried it. Service was super quick and friendly. But that is ALL between the bun. We had to ask for bbq sauce & condiments. Fries were excellent & a bunch of them. The potato was overcooked, endless fatty globs & very little brisket . My wife and I were on our way to the Red Wind when we drove past this Amazing BBQ smell! We flipped a U Turn as soon as possible and went straight to this Amazing smell. We asked this lovely Lady "Sam" for a menu and quickly decided on the BBQ pulled pork & Brisket sandwiches. We got them with fries and a drink. They were made quickly and my wife and I sat down to some of THE BEST BBQ we've had in a long time. Ask for the regular and spicy BBQ sauces to try them both. The brisket was so tender and delicious with that small amount of fat left on a few pieces which had an amazing amount of flavor. The pulled pork was tender and juicy, and with the extra BBQ sauce was perfect. We had Steele Barrel cater our daughter's wedding. I can't tell you how many people raved about the food! We had three meat dishes: ribs, pulled pork and chicken thighs.The ribs were so tender, the meat fell off the bone! People loved the chicken, it was so flavorful. The pulled pork with buns was delicious. The sides we had were Caprese salad, Mac and cheese, pineapple Cole slaw and jalapeño cornbread. All of it was awesome. We thought we were going to a restaurant not a food truck but aside from that it was fantastic. My husband had a macaroni brisket dish that he loved. The cheese sauce was delicious. I am so glad that I took the drive to Yelm yesterday in search of a barbeque beef sandwich! The meat was so tender and tasty and though I forgot to ask for sauce, it really didn't need it! Also, there was no skimping on the meat. It was all I could ever desire. The staff was so accommodating and lovely. I had to wait maybe 5 minutes for my meal.
