Overall, a solid experience. I ordered the honey mustard grilled chicken sandwich -- the chicken was grilled very well, was juicy, and tasted good. I thought the brioche bun went well with it. The NY steak was cooked well and had good grill flavor, all around decent steak. I enjoy the fries: they were crispy, hot, and satisfying with a little hot sauce. It was a Saturday afternoon and my family and I normally go to the Puyallup location, but we wanted to check out this one. It was empty inside, but looked nice. There was only one server and it took several minutes before we were seated, which was near the front door on a wobbly, sticky table. People started coming in and were being seated at booths. This was puzzling to me with only one server...why was my family seated at the front on the restaurant? I wanted coffee, but I saw a full pot on the maker and asked when it was made. The waitress was honest and said 2pm (it was already past 4pm) so I passed and just ordered a sweet tea which was good. I ordered the country fried steak (my usual at the Puyallup location), but I was unhappy with it. When I tried to cut it, the breading came off and showed this dark, jerky like piece of meat. It wasn't edible so I sent it back. We will continue to support the Tim's kitchen in Puyallup. Although the Tacoma location has good ambiance, the server and cook let us down. read more

Older lady working there wasn't very friendly. As we were coming through the door she kinda just barged past us to grab a sign off the sidewalk. I said Hello, and got a gruff hello back. Once inside she barked that the bar was open. Place was almost empty for a Sunday around 12:45pm. Kind of a weird vibe. Apparently they were closing early and were only serving breakfast, not sure of the reason. It did not feel too welcoming. A waitress, who seemed nicer brought us some menus. She did not seem in a rush, but once she brought our food out (which came out pretty quickly) she said she would give us a minute and come check to make sure everything was okay because they were closing down the kitchen. We ordered some mimosas to go with our brunch and watched the last 10 minutes or so of the Seahawks game that was on. The TVs didn't seem to have good reception. I ordered a sirloin steak and eggs and my friend had the corned beef stacker. Steak was seasoned well, but tough and hard to enjoy. Eggs were okay, unseasoned but nothing a little salt and pepper cant fix. Home fries were crispy, but also could have used some seasoning. My friend enjoyed her dish and the mimosas were good. It was just a little off putting that the staff seemed all ready to go and were just waiting for the last few patrons to leave. Had lunch today at Tim's in downtown Tacoma. I had the BLT with avocado slices and it was the best I've ever had so far. I recommend the strawberry lemonade drink. You get to choose a side and I also recommend the Mac and cheese. Hot from the oven and lots of creamy cheese. It was all perfect. There were ten of us from a Senior Apartment complex and we all loved the food and the service was perfect. Our service staff person was quick and attentive. Food was excellent... my wife and 2 kids enjoyed all their food - Wife got the Monte Cristo, kiddo got the French toast kid meal and the teenager got the smothered chicken on a biscuit and he enjoyed it... 8.9 out of 10 as he puts (which is high considering he has Asperger's.) Had the traditional Benedict. It was good. The Hollandaise sauce was good but not amazing. It was the real stuff (as opposed to powder mix) but there is something about it, like the base was a jug of clarified butter but toward the end of the jug. To hit it, the lemon was aggressive. Still very passable though. Slice of ham was very generous and the eggs were perfectly poached. I would have enjoyed more crisp to the hash browns, but they held their own. This was a Grubhub delivery, still haven't been to the restaurant. I had the Biscuits and Gravy platter, which included choice of potatoes, choice of meat, and choice of eggs. Just piles of stacked dirty dishes everywhere you turned. My coffee cup had dried coffee stains on the OUTSIDE of the cup.my friend got a strawberry lemonade that she said tasted weird right away. Just a general rule of thumb for me, if the front of house is dirty, the back of house is more than likely also dirty. The staff was friendly and kind. First time eating here today and I enjoyed my meal. It wasn't anything that really amazed me to make me go back monthly or anything. But I also don't have any complaints. My breakfast meal was good. I would definitely go back if I was in the area. It was a great comfort meal. Everything was hot and fresh. I really enjoyed my French Toast. I would love to go back and try their pancakes. I wished my hash browns were cooked a little longer but that's about it. If you have a group, or want to meet up with some friends it's a good spot because it's very spacious on the inside and I like that. My fiance and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, mozzarella cheese sticks and Onion rings. The location is beautiful and lighting so nice. I love the jukebox, it's a nice touch Our food arrived quickly and was incredible! Truly one of the best burgers I've had. Fries taste fresh and are clean, no need for ketchup. Hubby and I were in town for the 27th Annual Model Train Festival. We were ravenous after enjoying the festival and museum all day. Tim's Kitchen is right across the street from the Washington State Historical Museum and hit the spot perfectly. I had the club sandwich and my hubby had a burger. Both were awesome! The steak fries were hot out of the oven and tasty, love the seasoning. I also love the Lionel train that circles around part of the restaurant! That was just perfect after spending all day at the train show. Service was prompt and friendly. Place is clean and neat. Not too hard on the wallet neither. Location can't be beat. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu very polite and Service was fast considering it was full. The waffles were fluffy and light and the maple butter was fantastic, I'm a tea drinker so I only like real brew tea not the powdered kind and Tim's delivered. Had the chicken and waffles which was the best I've had in Washington state. Served with some tasty brown sugar maple butter. Chicken was crispy and juicy , waffle was fluffy hand crispy. Highly recommend you try this. Also had the hobo hash which was pretty good too. Service was pretty slow , I was sitting in The bar area , so I recommend not sitting in the bar area if you want better service.
