We did not have reservations but the host was accompanied us, much appreciation. Our server was Merlian, just like the actress! She was a joy to have around and definitely will request her again. Our meal and drinks were delicious. The only con take away would be that all my left overs did not taste appetizing and on the verge of being bad and it was literally the next day. This restaurant could be the kind where you enjoy in the moment instead of later. The shrimp dish was delicious, pretty spicy and hot but good. The roasted Roman salad was okay, always wanted to try but I would not order again. We had a small dessert that was yummy but I will have to try a different one next time to give a fair true review. Overall the atmosphere was nice, noise was minimal, clean restaurant and the drinks are good.

I've been here twice and loved it both times. The service is super warm and welcoming and the staff here bring a high energy well informed attitude. I've never had room for dessert but their sweet offerings look delicious. My next visit will be just to try a few of them! Everything here is made entirely from scratch so I know they'll be good.

Fire every time!! Ambience is intimate. Service is amazing and the food??!! 10/10 I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner date spot, or for catching up with a friend.

The only reason I am not eating it 5 stars is because you never know what level Of service you will be getting. Sometimes it's a bit, sometimes it's a miss. I am surprised that they have as much business as they do in the area they are located, so that is an impressive feat. Either way; I'd probably still return for a good drink and appetizer.

    Risotto

Food was AMAZING. My first time having duck and I was not disappointed, the risotto had so much flavor it was delightful. Don't even get me started on the crab cakes, the sauce that comes with it is perfect, it's tangy and cuts through the savory. The waiter (Zack) was so nice and friendly and gave great recommendations. The vibe of the place as whole really elevated the place. Who knew parkland had such good eats! Overall amazing and definitely will be dining here again!

Such an amazing experience. Worth the drive from the Eastside. I have to complement this restaurant on unique flavors and takes on traditional meals. For example, the potatoes on the side of our steak were flaky like a croissant and structurally pleasing to the eye. Very delicious very unique. Secondly the Caesar salad tasted exactly like a barbecue Caesar salad. There was a smoky flavor that was absolutely delicious and left you wanting more. Lastly I have to complement the fried brie. This is the exact reason I came out to try bar bistro. Melty, delicious and wonderful. I would say that they should give you more than three pieces of bread. The fruit was fresh and absolutely delicious pairings of toppings on the brie. I have to come out and try this place again and bring my friends and other family members. Such a hidden gem.

Pork Chop Special with Collard Greens & Polenta

My friend told me about an awesome Pork Chop special in Tacoma so I had to come check it out for myself. Came right when they opened at 4pm and got my order in. Menu had a bunch of stuff I wanted to try but I knew I wanted to finish my meal and not take anything to go so I only ordered the Pork Chop special, will be back again to try the rest of the menu. The Pork Chop special was A1...haven't had a pork chop so perfectly cooked in a long time and it basically told me that the chef in the back knows what he is doing...Collard Greens & Polenta were also delicious Will stop by again when I'm in the area to try the rest of the menu.

    Risotto with filet mignon tips

We went to Bar Bistro for the first time and were very impressed! It had a cheerful atmosphere and was very comfortable. Our waiter Zach was attentive, engaged, and informative. The food was all delicious-we tried the Fried Brie (definitely a worthy house specialty), Risotto with Filet mignon tips, halibut, the Beef fettuccini with gorgonzola, and the burger. We definitely will return-especially as Zach helpfully informed us of the 5-6 menu changes a year. We enjoyed the Christmassy atmosphere but it will be fun to see at other times of the year too.

I took my boyfriend here for a date night and the experience was amazing! The host Monroe was very kind and welcoming. We had Kylie as a server and she was very knowledgeable about the menu items. She recommended her personal favorites when I was stuck on what to order which made the process way smoother. The mussels were INCREDIBLE! The atmosphere is great and I loved the dim lighting. 10/10 experience!

This restaurant is 36 minutes away from Renton. I wanted Baked or Fried Brie and this restaurant posted a Brie that looked the most delicious. Not only was the Brie delicious but we ordered a delicious Steak which was served with an unusually flaky potato set upright on the plate and asparagus with fresh garlic slices. We really enjoyed our meal and definitely will be back. It was worth the drive.

Bar Bistro is a gem! The outside is nicely painted and has an outdoor seating area. Of course it is too cold to for use right now. There is a good amount of parking in the back and front. Upon entrance it was practically empty. It was early evening around 4:30. By the time we were leaving it was completely packed. The inside is nice. The lighting in the bar area is modern and definitely gives a bar vibe. We started with drinks My go to is a Cosmo and my husband ordered a dark and stormy. Cosmo was nice. For dinner I had the crab cakes and the grilled romaine salad. The crab cakes are not large but the flavor makes up for that. They were full of flavor and the micro greens and sauce all complimented each other well. The grilled salad and house made dressing was amazing. I added a side of lump crab. The crab was juicy and buttery. My husband had the pork chops with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Okay PNW y'all are out here cooking it up with these greens. Whoever made those greens has some definite soul! I loved them! Potatoes were creamy and filling. I do not eat pork but, my husband raves about the flavor. My husband gave his food a 4.5 out of 5! If say that's pretty good. Lastly the dessert. We ordered the carrot cake. The cake was good but, the icing was buttercream I believe instead of cream cheese and I am not a fan of buttercream. Also the cake was topped with the strips of fried or dried carrots and it was not needed. A great dessert/cake can speak for itself. I don't think it was needed. Our waitress Shea was attentive and kind. Has a very down to earth personality. We will return again!

(Perfect way to handle the awkwardly vague instructions we gave) But of course, where he really shined was when a bunch of the lame guests left right around when business was over and it was time for dancing to get going, which left us worried that the party was going to die down early. No such thing! He was able to read the room every minute of the night and keep the core group going strong. Didn't get many direct photos of him necessarily, but I included the one just for context on what a small group he had to work with at one point. It ended up making no difference, as he kept us going for what felt like all night - even though, he did in fact follow instructions to the letter and not break any rules about when amplified sound was required by the city to stop (and it was timed perfectly so it really felt like ending on a high note, not just suddenly stopping). Guests very much appreciated being able to easily request songs. Oh, and bonus shout out, during speech time earlier, he expertly handled the fact that I forgot how sound worked when I chose to stand right in front of a speaker while talking into a microphone. He must have seen it coming because he was on top of those knobs and didn't let the feedback go crazy like it should have (according to video evidence I saw later of how close I was). I don't plan on hosting another wedding anytime soon, but for anything else he'll be my first choice.

When we ordered drinks at the bar we had mentioned we might take off and the bartender saw a table become vacant and quickly rushed over and held and cleaned it for us. She was so awesome - come to find out she was one of the owners! While it was busy, orders came out quickly. Any time we asked for a drink it was there just a couple of minutes later and our food came out in about 10 minutes which isn't bad. We got the Esquites and the Barbacoa Nachos to split and we loved both. Both were packed full of flavor and the barbacoa is so tender! And they don't skimp on the toppings, either. The vibe itself is super fun with mirrors, sparkly walls, and an overall comfortable dive aesthetic. And the cherry on top is that this place is crazy affordable on prices. For our two food items, and 3 beers and a shot each, we only racked up a $65 after tip. My husband had to triple check that they didn't miss anything! So glad we finally got to come here and we'll definitely be back.
