First visit. Love the interior of this establishment! Our server, x was gracious, calming and made some great recommendations based on my questions. You can always tell great server when they listen and size up what you would like and don't even know you. They were out of quite a few things. I wasn't quite sure what to think about that. Since they have unique food made fresh and beer on tap that might be why (I had a stout that was amazing). I had a cup of snow crab bisque soup - that was awesome. I was really surprised how good it was. I always love it when I go with what I love and it's a surprise at how good it can be.

Gorgonzola pasta and cuban sandwich

3.5 on my second visit. I brought my husband, we had reservations. This time around, I was less cold, but my first experience was overall better. The cuban sandwich is now off the menu, replaced by yet another burger, which feels redundant and elitist, as the Sandwich was the cheapest item on the main courses. We ordered the same pasta I had the first time and it was radically different. The steak was good, but the sauce was 100% different tasting. The first sauce had true gorgonzola taste, it was bold, flavorful and so damn good. This one was fine, more chicken broth-y and generic than anything else. Honestly, Olive Garden status almost. We ordered the bread and once again, the butter was frozen solid. Why???? Make it make sense. Service was fine. Ambiance was fine. Idk it felt like a let down because of how I had hyped up the pasta.

We did not have reservations but the host was accompanied us, much appreciation. Our server was Merlian, just like the actress! She was a joy to have around and definitely will request her again. Our meal and drinks were delicious. The only con take away would be that all my left overs did not taste appetizing and on the verge of being bad and it was literally the next day. This restaurant could be the kind where you enjoy in the moment instead of later. The shrimp dish was delicious, pretty spicy and hot but good. The roasted Roman salad was okay, always wanted to try but I would not order again. We had a small dessert that was yummy but I will have to try a different one next time to give a fair true review. Overall the atmosphere was nice, noise was minimal, clean restaurant and the drinks are good.

Dinner was AMAZING! Everything was fabulous, I did not take pictures of everything, I wish I would have. The birria bread appetizer was so good. The ribeye steak was one of the better ones I have had. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and all of the drinks as well. Service was as good as the meal. This will be our next "go to" restaurant for sure. The environment was comfortable. I recommend this place to everyone.

I've been here twice and loved it both times. The service is super warm and welcoming and the staff here bring a high energy well informed attitude. I've never had room for dessert but their sweet offerings look delicious. My next visit will be just to try a few of them! Everything here is made entirely from scratch so I know they'll be good.

Fire every time!! Ambience is intimate. Service is amazing and the food??!! 10/10 I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner date spot, or for catching up with a friend.

The only reason I am not eating it 5 stars is because you never know what level Of service you will be getting. Sometimes it's a bit, sometimes it's a miss. I am surprised that they have as much business as they do in the area they are located, so that is an impressive feat. Either way; I'd probably still return for a good drink and appetizer.

Such an amazing experience. Worth the drive from the Eastside. I have to complement this restaurant on unique flavors and takes on traditional meals. For example, the potatoes on the side of our steak were flaky like a croissant and structurally pleasing to the eye. Very delicious very unique. Secondly the Caesar salad tasted exactly like a barbecue Caesar salad. There was a smoky flavor that was absolutely delicious and left you wanting more. Lastly I have to complement the fried brie. This is the exact reason I came out to try bar bistro. Melty, delicious and wonderful. I would say that they should give you more than three pieces of bread. The fruit was fresh and absolutely delicious pairings of toppings on the brie. I have to come out and try this place again and bring my friends and other family members. Such a hidden gem.

Pork Chop Special with Collard Greens & Polenta
Jimmy B.

My friend told me about an awesome Pork Chop special in Tacoma so I had to come check it out for myself. Came right when they opened at 4pm and got my order in. Menu had a bunch of stuff I wanted to try but I knew I wanted to finish my meal and not take anything to go so I only ordered the Pork Chop special, will be back again to try the rest of the menu. The Pork Chop special was A1...haven't had a pork chop so perfectly cooked in a long time and it basically told me that the chef in the back knows what he is doing...Collard Greens & Polenta were also delicious Will stop by again when I'm in the area to try the rest of the menu.

Risotto

Food was AMAZING. My first time having duck and I was not disappointed, the risotto had so much flavor it was delightful. Don't even get me started on the crab cakes, the sauce that comes with it is perfect, it's tangy and cuts through the savory. The waiter (Zack) was so nice and friendly and gave great recommendations. The vibe of the place as whole really elevated the place. Who knew parkland had such good eats! Overall amazing and definitely will be dining here again!

My new favorite hidden gem!! Loved everything from the food, the service, the ambiance. Plus everything is super fresh, will definitely be back.

Mussels! With a side of sourdough bread!

I took my boyfriend here for a date night and the experience was amazing! The host Monroe was very kind and welcoming. We had Kylie as a server and she was very knowledgeable about the menu items. She recommended her personal favorites when I was stuck on what to order which made the process way smoother. The mussels were INCREDIBLE! The atmosphere is great and I loved the dim lighting. 10/10 experience!

Bar Bistro indoors
Brie O.

Bar Bistro is a gem! The outside is nicely painted and has an outdoor seating area. Of course it is too cold to for use right now. There is a good amount of parking in the back and front. Upon entrance it was practically empty. It was early evening around 4:30. By the time we were leaving it was completely packed. The inside is nice. The lighting in the bar area is modern and definitely gives a bar vibe. We started with drinks My go to is a Cosmo and my husband ordered a dark and stormy. Cosmo was nice. For dinner I had the crab cakes and the grilled romaine salad. The crab cakes are not large but the flavor makes up for that. They were full of flavor and the micro greens and sauce all complimented each other well. The grilled salad and house made dressing was amazing. I added a side of lump crab. The crab was juicy and buttery. My husband had the pork chops with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Okay PNW y'all are out here cooking it up with these greens. Whoever made those greens has some definite soul! I loved them! Potatoes were creamy and filling. I do not eat pork but, my husband raves about the flavor. My husband gave his food a 4.5 out of 5! If say that's pretty good. Lastly the dessert. We ordered the carrot cake. The cake was good but, the icing was buttercream I believe instead of cream cheese and I am not a fan of buttercream. Also the cake was topped with the strips of fried or dried carrots and it was not needed. A great dessert/cake can speak for itself. I don't think it was needed. Our waitress Shea was attentive and kind. Has a very down to earth personality. We will return again!

Years ago I came here with a friend and we had the paella and LOVED it... I was talking about it for days. However your website menu does not list this - is it gone now? I will be sad if so... Thanks!

Are they kid friendly?

Like others have posted kids are allowed but might not be that enjoyable for very little ones. I would avoid peak dining times too cause it can get a little cramped and again like another poster wrote it has more of a bar/date night ambience.

It sounds like they shift out their cocktail menu from time to time so it definitely changes. The food menu is great! It's rare where they have a nachos section on the menu. Section? As in getting different ones? Yes, you can get all kinds of different nachos here which makes it a lot of fun and it's intriguing to see what kind of different spin on nachos you can get here. We split and shared the Fiesta Verde nachos which has corn, Oaxaca Cheddar sauce, cotija, green onions, sour cream, Queso Fresco and green sauce. They also are known for different kinds of corn dishes and baked potatoes. We continued to share with something off of their baked potato section and got the Dude which had a diced roasted chicken breast in a Chipotle-Lime-Honey Beef Consommé, cheese curds, cotija, shaved radish and green onions. The food was great and I really appreciated the menu being so unique. The atmosphere is cool too with all of the mirrored bubbles above the wall and front entrance. Since I'm not a fan of alcohol, I chose a mocktail called "XXX," while others enjoyed the Wildside Punch Cocktail and other drinks. For food, we ordered the Queen Beans, The Marley, and Sweet Leaf Salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We finished with the tiramisu, which was absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to our meal. The atmosphere, service, and food all came together for a wonderful experience. I would definitely love to come back again!
