So I'm giving one of my stars just for the miraculous surprise of walking into Brix 25 and finding a seat at the beautiful bar and a happy seeming bustling wait and bar staff and a bartender who served is a Glass of bubbly prosecco for absolutely no reason. We had a group of 8 family members for a 65th anniversary. I didn't book this place for the event. I was told it was waterfront upscale restaurant. Not sure I agree about that.... There was a water view if you were seated at the window tables. You could see boats and a distance harbor view. We ordered a lot of food. Bone marrow, oysters on the half shell, scallops, salmon, pork chop, soups, octopus, salads and mocktails & cocktails. The food was typical PNW fare. Everything we had was good. Brix had been recommended to us throughout our time in Gig, so we were looking forward to visiting. The interior was cozy and romantic. A moody vibe was set with low lighting, and clean & organic lines. I thought the complimentary champagne upon seating was a nice touch. They have an extensive wine list, but they're known for their cocktails, so we went with the Golden Hour and the Midnight Buck. The Golden Hour was smooth and luxurious tasting with the luxardo cherry coming through. Midnight Buck is like a take on mule, refreshing and flavorful. We started with the Spicy Sweet Potato Bisque, poured tableside, and the Salmon & Scallop Ravioli. Both had a lot of flavor. For entrees, we got the daily special which was a boar dish (rack or ribs of boar, I believe) with a creamy polenta, and the Seared Alaskan Halibut. Oh my gosh, the polenta was incredible. My fiance had only good things to say about the boar. The Halibut was cooked medium rare, was juicy and had great sear and flavor. It paired so nicely with the preserved lemon risotto. The mojo verde was *chefs kiss*. Service was lovely throughout, with frequent silverware changes and water checks. Definitely sit inside if you want the vibes. Brix is worth the hype. read more

The food was good...not exceptional but good. The wait staff was friendly and trying very hard to accommodate but the place is very poorly managed and way understaffed. Our table waited 40 minutes to get a cocktail and well over an hour to get any food. It was very frustrating sitting there and watching one waitress work the entire room and one bartender trying to keep up with the orders. It took us 2.5 hours to have one cocktail, some wine and dinner. I will not be returning to this place nor recommending it to others. read more

The ambiance was lovely and our server was warm and attentive, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations. I ordered the scallops with pork belly, scallops are one of my favorites, and I've enjoyed them at many fine dining spots. Sadly, these were noticeably undercooked when you cut into them, cool and translucent inside. The pork belly was the opposite, overcooked and lacking the tenderness and crispness I'd hoped for. While I wanted to mention it at the time, my boyfriend felt uncomfortable making a scene, so I held back. I did mention that things were "okay" when our server checked in, but I wish I had been more honest. When she cleared my plate, it was still mostly full, but there didn't seem to be any notice taken. On a positive note, my boyfriend's pork chop was cooked beautifully and tasted great. This was our first visit, and as locals, we were hoping for a great new spot to return to. While I'd consider coming back for drinks or ambiance, I'm not sure I'd return for the food based on this experience. read more

Well, the complementary champagne was nice! Probably not an every night thing, but very nice. The patio is very nice and a great place in the nice weather. We made mid-week reservations because we kept saying that we should try it every time we walked by after eating somewhere else in the harbor. We were seated immediately and our initial service, including the champagne, was very prompt. We started with the Mediterranean baby octopus. Brix 25 has a great spirit free cocktail menu as well as NA beers which is always nice to see. But I went with the Stackhouse cocktail anyway. We ordered the prime brisket pub burger in medium rare, some bread and butter, and the seared chicken breast. I was deciding between the chicken and the pork secreto and our server recommended the chicken. The octopus appetizer was fantastic: A great blend of shaved fennel, halloumi, peppers, and octopus. The stackhouse cocktail is also very good. Our bread arrived as finished the octopus and the artisan butter was really good. The chicken was a great recommendation. The sear was fantastic, the speatzl was very good and the greens and apples were super tasty. The burger was also very good. The made in house bun was exceptional. The medium rare was really medium rare which seems to be a rarity these days. The entrees are definitely portioned to allow for appetizers and possible dessert. The dessert menu looks great... Good thing the entrees are dessert sized. It's a dessert menu for the well traveled. We ordered the chèvre cheesecake and the Swiss carrot cake. Both were awesome. The sizing is complementary to the entrees. Table clearance was on point all night. The staff was on top of their game and guests were well cared for. Everyone was friendly. Brix 25 is a great waterfront restaurant that is perfect for date nights. We got oysters with champagne, then had the halibut confit which was incredible. The flavors of garlic, feta, and olives are perfectly balanced with the halibut. We liked it so much that we ordered extra bread to soak up the olive oil! We saw many orders of the tiramisu go by and definitely want to return to try that. It looked amazing! We sat in the bar and had the most fun server. She was kind, personable, made us laugh, and made great recommendations. The restaurant looks out over the water and has outdoor seating during the warmer months. Our first time to Brix 25 as decided to try it for our anniversary. They were starting all diners with a glass of bubbly on the house which was a nice touch. Ambiance was nice as is the decor. Service was attentive and while we certainly weren't looking for a rushed experience, there were some long gaps between check in's and from order to delivery. Overall, dinner with an app took an hour and forty five minutes...we were arrived at 4:45pm when the place was mostly empty for reference. The cambozola appetizer was very good. For dinner we had ossobuco over risotto (nightly special) and steamed manila clams over pasta. The ossobuco was surprisingly very dry and tough, like a medium well steak. The risotto was decent but having to cut the meat away from the bone was not what I had in mind for a well prepared ossobuco. The steamed clams were also overcooked and chewy. The pasta was nice however the sauce was overly "peppered" which tended to overwhelm the other flavors. Pricing is high and the experience, most importantly the food, was very disappointing. Another surprise was the $1 charge for some extra pieces of baguette for the appetizer that were offered to us, really negated goodwill from the complimentary champagne. Doubt we will return to Brix 25 as there are other restaurants in the area where we have had consistently good experiences. read more

Had dinner here on a Sunday night with a girlfriend, her 5 month old baby, and my son who is 21 months. The food was fabulous and the staff was supportive and understanding of our kiddo dynamic. Simple, relaxed atmosphere gives you a conspiring feeling when you walk in. The group that owns this place is really, REALLY good at doing just that. They have a couple other spots in town we've been to and already loved so we were very much looking forward to a great night. All expectations were met and beaten. Visiting the Pacific Northwest from California so first time at Brix 25. First thing, you can park for free in the private lot behind the restaurant owned by Arabella's Landing Marina with validation. Caveat: we couldn't get out of the lot after validation and they tried to charge us $20. Went back to restaurant and they sent a server with a special card to let us out. To start, every table gets complimentary sparkling wine. Was Wycott, California Brut which was very good. Boyfriend started with oysters and Langoustino Bisque. Said both were good but a bit light in flavor. Would have liked to have cracked black pepper on soup but by time for server's attention he was a almost done. He had the halibut and I had Wagyu Teres Major. He liked the halibut which the chef suggested rare but wasn't crazy about the accompaniments. My Wagyu medallions were a bit tough making me suspect whether they were Wagyu or not. I've had other that I can cut with my fork. They weren't bad tasting and were served with an excellent risotto, but just not as tender as expected. We finished with the Dark Chocolate crème brûlée which was not served in your typical ramekin. Was 2 upward standing triangles (?) of dense dark chocolate which was delicious and went very well with the Abeje Cabernet Sauvignon we ordered. I loved the decor - white and grey with wood tabletops. Someone really did a nice job with decor. Simple and tasteful. If you are lucky enough to get a table seat you will get glimpses of Gig Harbor. I have eaten here 3 times now and have gotten something different each time. I think this is certainly one of the better restaurants in the south sound, but I feel like something is just slightly lacking. I honestly can't put my finger on it. Service has been good each time, the ambiance is lovely. The menu seems to adjust seasonally, the core stays the same. I've gotten the chicken, the halibut, and the mussels. The mussels have been on the menu in the same fashion each time and actually have been my favorite so far. The appetizers... octopus, foie gras, and soup have been solid each time. I'll start with the good. The service was great, our server was super nice and helpful. The setting is lovely, a really pretty restaurant for sure. And the appetizer was ok, we had the chutney and cambozola and I just would have liked a few more crackers to scoop up all the yummies. The best news is my husband loved the braised beef short rib. He cleared his plate. Maybe the trick is to order red meat here.....because I would not recommend the seafood. Onto the had. I ordered the salmon with risotto and asparagus. These are a few of my favorite things so I figured it was safe. My bad. The salmon came out all but raw and smelled like had fish....not a good sign. The risotto was bland, cooked but bland. The mushrooms were almost nonexistent and over cooked and the asparagus was basically raw. I was only able to eat a few bites and only took the rest home because my chickens will eat anything. Overall - nice looking place but definitely not worth the price tag. We were well over $200 for a semi decent bottle of wine, an ok appetizer, one solid dinner and one uneatable dinner. We were in town visiting family, our Sister in law made dinner reservations here. I think they have been here before. They live in the area. I was not sure what to expect. She usually chooses higher end restaurants, I at least knew to expect the ambiance would be of that realm. We were seated upstairs where we had a view of the beautiful harbor. When seated you get complimentary bubbly. The menu had so many wonderful items to chose from, which I hear is always changing. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted because everything sounded delicious, and I looked at the pictures before we went out. I decided to go with the pancetta pork chop, with risotto rice. My guy went with the bison tomahawk. For appetizers we had the Thai lettuce cups, and cheese fondue, which we all shared the appetizers. The cheese fondue was a little meh to me, but I usually don't order those anyway. The Thai lettuce wraps were just okay as well. Now my pork chop...that was Devine!! It was so soft, you could just cut it with your fork. It melted in your mouth with every bite, and the risotto was a nice compliment as well as the chanterelle mushrooms. I'm not sure what sauce they poured on top when they brought it out, but it was really good. The bison tomahawk was also delicious as well. Also my first time trying bison. I couldn't resist eyeballing that tomahawk. The garlic, and Brie cheese, along with the rosemary, and thyme really set the flavor of the meat off each bite. I also enjoyed my cosmo. I don't drink often, but will on special occasion. I was sad because I thought I had taken a picture of my pork chop. I guess I missed it. We must have came hungry, because usually we don't clean our plates, and order desert. Here we did just that. I had the brownie, he ordered the carrot cake, and our Sister in law has the nor your Italian Grandma's tiramisu. We all tried bites from each other's dish. Oh my gosh!! So delicious! My husband keeps asking if anyone wrote in the reviews how uncomfortable the chairs are. It's true, they felt like high school bleachers after awhile. Food was delightful. I could drown myself in the fondue appetizer. The crab legs had been on my mind since we made reservations days before; nice they came cracked so I didn't have to struggle more than I already did trying to be polite. My husband had the filet medallions - tender, flavorful, cleaned the plate. I'm glad I tried a bite. It came with some cauliflower that he used the word "earthy" to describe. I told him that's what cauliflower tastes like. Best part was the cheesecake with brûlée topping, toasted marshmallow, chocolate and chèvre. We loved our experience at this restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered the steak tartar, thai larb lettuce cups, cast iron fondue, and the bread and butter. All the appetizers were delicious! For main courses we ordered the filet mignon and the spicy thai curry mussels. The steak was cooked nicely, but the mussels were good, but not our favorite so we'd probably choose something different next time. For dessert we ordered the chocolate creme brulee, which was very good and not too sweet, which we really enjoyed! We also had the double dark chocolate brownie, which was amazing! My friends flew in from Austin- the food Capital- so I thought it would be nice to take them to a nice local restaurant. We were greeted with a glass of champagne ( very nice) had private dining (10 people) the restaurant and atmosphere was beautiful.... The menu.... Honestly it sounded delicious. Went on a rare date night with my wife since the birth of our baby and discovered a PNW culinary must. Sophisticated but not pretentious. Modern food yet comfortable. And for the quality $25 to $35 an entree is a bargain. The raw oysters were an excellent assortment and start to the meal. The only item that I would pass on is the cast iron fondue as the cheese overwhelmed the crab. However, the short ribs were perfect flavor and fall off the bone tender. I'd lick the plate but think my wife might have left me if I did. My wife had a filet with root vegetables and roasted potatoes. And an excellent selection of wines to enjoy as you overlook the downtown waterfront. read more

Friendly servers and good music, the ambiance was very nice They give complimentary champagne when seated and our server was super friendly and offered lots of advice for the menu. Located right on the water, this restaurant is an amazing find. I was greeted with a complementary glass of champagne (that was delicious). Servers were very pleasant knowledgeable about the menu. I asked for a meal recommendation and my server- without hesitation- recommended 3 different meals: beef, prawns, fish. I asked about the tiger prawns and he explained every included. My water glass never got below half and the red wine that I tried for variety was also delicious. The shaved Brussel sprout salad was savory, sweet and a wonderful blend of flavors. The tiger prawns were served- very well presented- with greens, a pea/corn mix, grits and tomato purée. That's the best meal I've had in a very long time. We met our friends for dinner and hoping to catch up since we hadn't seen them for awhile. As soon as we sat down the waitress gave us a couple of minutes and asked if we needed more time to order. She didn't even ask us about a drink? This continued three times back to back. We felt pressured to order and seemed that she was more interested in getting us out to turn the table. This is one of my favorite places to eat for dinner in Gig harbor. I took my mother here for her birthday and she took me here for my birthday as well. We had ordered the bone marrow, bread and lamb bites for appetizers. For my main course I had ordered the tomahawk steak. Hands down everything was good. No complaints at all whatsoever, literally everything was perfect from the food the customer service and the atmosphere of this place. When we are allowed to dine in one of these millenniums I'm definitely coming back. I really hope this place is still around due to these unfortunate events happening in this world. This kind of mixed review. I would have given this place 4 stars, but there were a few mis-steps, plus I'm a very tough reviewer. Greeting and seating was very efficient especially since I had reservations and it was right as the restaurant opens. We opted to sit outside since it was a sunny day, however they didn't have any awnings or umbrellas to shield us from the sun. Kind of strange since most restaurants with outdoor seating have it. I ordered the braised short ribs and was excellent! Extremely tender and full of flavor. Service was a little inattentive and slow, but nothing egregious. Here's the big problem. We thought a tiramisu would be a great way to finish the meal. It would be but not here. Normally tiramisu is made with lady fingers, cocoa powder, chocolate, marscapone and espresso. I guess the bakery chef was either trying to be creative or they couldn't make or buy lady fingers. Instead of lady fingers the chef used pancakes, and not very good pancakes. Plus, I could swear I tasted maple syrup. This is not tiramisu nor was it a good desert. Creativity is always a great way to improve existing items, but not when it creates a poor replacement. Maybe this place is the best of Gig Harbor. I don't know since I don't live there. Recommendation? Based on the prices and the entrees, yes. Add the average service levels, then it becomes a maybe. With the tiramisu that we had, the recommendation would be a definite no. read more

Loved everything about Brix 25 in Gig Harbor!!! The food was incredibly delicious and very inventive the cocktails were out of this world. The Halibut was perfectly cooked and melted in our mouths. The wonderful salad was fresh and went very well with the meal. The waitress was very informative super helpful. The vibe of Brix 25 is very upscale and relaxing with some great views of the harbor!
