    Pineapple fried rice
    Michael D.

Absolutely love this place. My wife and I live in the area and walked over with our little ones a few times in the past couple weeks. We've had several meals and they're all incredible. The fresh spring rolls are a must for an appetizer. We've enjoyed the Pad Thai, the Panang Curry, the pineapple fried rice and our absolute favorite meal Pad Se Ew. The wide noodles are delicious. The restaurant is very well put together with all the little details telling a story. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. I cannot recommend Wild Orchid enough if you want good food at a nice establishment.

    Basil curry with chicken

It's been a few years since we've been here, but definitely adding it back into the rotation! I had the basil curry with chicken and my husband had the cashew chicken. The portion sizes are large enough for two people to share one dish, especially if you order rice with the meal. Both entrees were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was excellent as well.

Absolutely delicious! First time visiting and shame on me for not doing so sooner. The fried spring rolls had a nice crunch and the sauce was excellent! The Mongolian beef was flavorful and perfect! I think what surprised me most was the presentation efforts. It makes them stand out above other local asian restaurants. I will be back over and over again. Love

Great service and food from Wild Orchid, as usual. I'm so glad this place made it thru the pandemic and survived. It's got to be hard for restaurants right now, even post pandemic, since it's hard to find good star. Right now, wild orchid continues to only serve take out. I don't eat out much in my own town, yet Wild Orchid is one of my favorites! Tonight I ordered Pad Se Ew and an iced tea. Thank you, Wild Orchid family for cooking for me! I'll be back

The ambiance is nice. Our server was great, but I didn't care for the food again. The food is presented beautifully and way too high in sodium.

Our vanilla ice cream dessert arrived in cocktail goblets with (another) orchid.

They're open for dining-in and we've returned again and again for the beautiful and delicious food here. Entirely family-run, Wild Orchid impresses you as soon as you are seated with their pleasant, attentive staff. Generous menu is complimented by the fantastic presentation. So far, everything our group has ordered has been enjoyed. Prices are reasonable, surprising, actually, considering the attention to detail and appearance of each menu item delivered to our table. Spring rolls into standing at attention with lettuce sprouting out their tops. Expect to see an orchid in your plate. Wine list is limited, tho. This place is a real sleeper; hopefully it won't be spoiled by hoards of people.

We went there last night and we were suprised to be the only people there, which made us question if we chose a good spot to eat. Well we did! The owners were very kind to us and extremely attentive servers. My glass was always filled with water and they brought the glass of soda out without me even noticing! The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing as well which is sometimes hard to find on busy 6th st. The food was delicious, pictures don't do it justice, as the give big plates making the portions look smaller than they actually are. The quality of the food was magnificent as too probably the best Thai food I've had in Tacoma. Also their presentation for each dish was so beautiful it just made me want to enjoy what I was looking at!

Green curry with fresh tofu and red curry with fried tofu on the side.

We decided to stop by Wild Orchid and pick up Thai food the other night. We chose the red and green curry, as well as sticky rice and brown rice. My partner isn't fond of tofu, so we got the crispy tofu on the side of the red curry and fresh tofu in the green curry. Both were delicious! They had a variety of vegetables and everything was cooked perfectly. The reason for four stars is because I think rice should come with curry dishes and all entrees. Maybe just the basic white race and then if you want something fancy, add an additional cost? Otherwise, a very tasty meal.

The husband, who was serving, checked in several times to make sure I had everything I needed. The chef also stopped by my table when she came out of the kitchen, which was such a thoughtful touch. The pork belly was very crispy(an additional fee), but too salty for my taste. The Pad Thai was good, although not the best I've had. The noodles were cooked well, and I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. It did not come spicy, but chili sauce was available to add some heat. The spicy omelette tom yum soup had a great balance of mild spice and sourness, and it tasted very authentic. The texture of the fried omelette after soaking in the soup was not my favorite, but that may come down to personal preference. The Thai iced tea had a good balance of tea and condensed milk, although it was sweeter than I prefer. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table afterward. Water is self-service. They also have a helpful sign explaining the ordering and seating process for first-time guests. The restaurant was very clean, nicely decorated, and had a great ambiance. I especially enjoyed the small area showcasing the chef's history and journey. Overall, the warm service and welcoming atmosphere made the experience memorable.

I'd just gotten off the train from eating and drinking my way around Portland and you couldn't welcome me back with a few more choices for a good meal? But since I ended up at Thai Pepper, all was forgiven. Hands down, their pumpkin curry is on my list of all time top ten favorite foods. It's spicy, it's sweet, it's nutty, it's soothing -- it has pumpkin. The curry sauce is so good I poured what I had leftover on my mashed potatoes the next day. Everything about Thai Pepper rocks. The service is great and so is the vibe. From the moment we walked in, no one was warm, no one even welcomed us, we had a reservation and still waited to be seated. The host was not friendly. Our waiter didn't even introduce themselves and it took us 30 minutes to get water after asking. Our drinks came out all at separate times, I had to remind him for my mom's prebiotic soda, which he served in the can, no glass and didn't open it. Our meals all came out at different times as well. Overall no one had a sense of urgency, no one seemed to prioritize a good dining experience, and it was so disappointing because again the food and ambience was there. Overall, Thai cuisine is a great choice. Environment: I arrived around 2:00 PM, and since it was past the lunch rush, there weren't many customers. The environment was very clean, with bright and spotless windows. Taste: I ordered the chicken with rice and added a portion of green curry beef. The chicken with rice was the restaurant's recommendation. It was impressive at first bite and quite enjoyable, but it became saltier as I ate toward the end. The portion of chicken was modest, so overall, it's still recommended. As for the green curry beef, it wasn't very rich, and the beef was scarce.
