I go to Mekong often for events. They have a great stage, dance floor and large round tables. The food is good. I love the Nyam salad. You have to order at the bar usually and there can be a long line if it's a big event. The bathrooms are not always as well stocked but they're getting better at keeping the dance floor clean. read more

I would say this place for Thai food the price is very reasonable. It's $13 for my Panang Curry with brown rice. However I gave less stars because they did not ask for the spice level. I personally like spicer but he didn't ask for it and it's not even spicy. The tofu I got taste a bit sour so it is concerning for me, but yep I still ate it haha cuz I think it might be nothing. Ultimately it tasted okay, but there should have more improvement in this. The whole place is quiet and clean. But Will I go back probably not. read more

They have probably the lowest prices in comparison to other Thai places! Their lunch specials are still 8.95 too, which I am so excited to try! To start the review, my boyfriend and I have been hunting for a place to call our own and we had some time left to grab lunch. This place was close by and I just love trying any new Thai places that I have not been to! We entered and saw that they had a very cute decor stand that had signs asking us to be please wait to be seated. Not too long after we entered were we greeted and told to sit anywhere we would like by our waitress. She brought us menus then water before checking on us again to take our order. At the time, there were three other tables around and once we placed our order in the restaurant was getting pretty full and a few takeout orders were being taken as well. It seems that the waitress was the only one running the front while the cooks were busy cooking in the back. We ordered their Thai iced tea, mango cranberry fried rice with chicken and pad see ew chicken. My boyfriend loved his pad see ew and praised it for its freshness and taste. I loved my fried rice and they met my spice level pretty okay for a 4 star but definitely could have been spicer. When we asked for boxes, we received very cute and unique takeout containers! I've been missing Thai food ever since I moved, and not only is their decor very cool and unique, but also their food is delicious.

This is a 3 star for overall West coast Thai, and a 4-star for the South Sound area. They are a solid 4 stars for curry and wide noodles for west coast Thai, and a 5 for South Sound. Since we are in the South Sound, we will go with the more generous number. We enjoy coming to this little restaurant around the corner from our new home. Some dishes here are very repeatable, others are just ok. We've moved up and down the West coast over the years, and have been spoiled with some amazing foodie towns along the way (Napa & Bay Area, Portland, San Diego, Eastside)--that being said we are return customers!! Here's my 2c on Thai Mekong and what we've tried so far. Their spicy is very mild. A 5 star spicy here is not even a 2 or 3 at most other Thai restaurants. I *think* this could be improved either by adding fresh chilis to their sauces, or by heating the dry chilis before adding the sauces. I like heat, and this is usually not enough for me. But they have great flavors despite the lack of heat. Love love love that They are an affordable family option. I am not a huge fan of the apps here, but for the kids some are a must... I must speak about the fresh rolls though, because Thai fresh rolls are my favorite, but I've found the ones here below par and not worth ordering. They could use more fresh veg, herbs esp mint, and a greener leafier lettuce. The peanut sauce is good though, a good peanut sauce can cover many other flaws. Their curries are delicious and not watery--we've tried 3 flavors so far--all enjoyable, and probably the best curries and wide noodles we've tried in the South Sound--with a half dozen other places on the list. They are a 5 for curry in the South Sound. We enjoy the noodle dishes--esp wide rice noodles. Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew are both great. Pad Thai is ok (but never my favorite anywhere). Pad Pak was not my thing, but it was flavorful--very brothy tamarind/sweet/sour. I took a pic for future reference. We will continue to try new things and be regular customers here. I will say that for the Puyallup/Graham area it's more of a 4 star or 5 star place. read more

Pad Thai was alright, not the most flavorful but the spice at least made it somewhat enjoyable. It was a good portion I suppose. I also ordered fresh spring rolls but ain't notthinnnngg fresh about these. The crustiest, most dry lettuce that looks like it's been out for 2 nights, and the tiniest shrimp in each. There's no peanut sauce or any sauce on the side either to at leastt try to salvage it. That or they simply forgot mine idk. Taking my loss and throwing them out. Great service. I got the green curry with just vegetables with brown rice, papaya salad, and my husband got pad Thai. The amount of food was abundant... I don't feel that my curry or papaya salad were that spicy and I asked 4/5 stars., might need to ask for 5/5 next time. The papaya salad didn't have that much papaya and the green string beans were kinda too soft for my preference. I also didn't love all the vegetables that were in my curry. When I have vegetable curry my expectations are good quality vegetables.. I didn't like that it had, what seemed like, half a can of green peas. The pad Thai was flavorful and my husband even had left overs, which isn't super common. Stopped by here on the way back from mount rainier and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was! The shop was super cute on the inside, with friendly staff, and very clean bathrooms. Since first time here, I some some basics to see how they are and if the basics were good than I'd surely be back Got chicken phad thai and pa kaw peanut. Phad Thai not bad appreciated that it had sauce and wasn't just a dry sticky pile of noodles. However kinda bland, no spices/seasonings, not talking about heat but flavor. If they elevated the spices up it would be a grand phad thai but not an outstanding dish that I would order again. as for the pa kaw peanuts :(. Super bland and super runny - watered down flavor. Expected for a peanut sauce dish to be a thick creamy sauce with satay kinda flavor. Spinach is non existent, had 2 leaves lol. Other veggies were so bland flavorless couldn't tell difference between carrot a zucchini or a green bean in flavor. possibly frozen Chicken was so chewy. Ewww. Hate chewy meat. Would not recommend this at all. Place was clean and super friendly. But sadly won't return due to flavor issue, over diluted watery sauce and chewy chicken. I'm a picky on my thai food as I've had some of the best in the world but I expect a flavor bomb and tender meat loaded with Thai flavors. Been here a couple times now. So far the best fried rice I've had in the area. I try different places every month when I come to this area. Not as good as my FAVORITE ( thai restaurant in fife) or my absolute favorite I just CANT stay away from (in Portland) ... but DEFINITELY best in bonney lake/puyallup/orting area so far. I DID ask for extra seasoning on my rice & 1/2 sauce in the sweet & sour dish we also ordered. Staff are friendly, accommodating & attentive. The Thai iced tea is delicious, mixed to perfection and in a nice tall glass. We had the garlic pork special which was tasty. The chicken curry noodle soup flavor-wise was delicious and great portion size. Only thing I did not like was they use pho rice noodles and the noodles just kind of stuck together, like a big blob. and over a short time, the curry-coconut milk soup saturated the noodles and it was no longer "soupy". I was not a huge fan of the pad Thai, not sure what it tasted like but definitely not the signature Thai dish I'm use to having elsewhere. read more

While we've never dined in at Thai Mekong, we've taken out at least five times now and each time it has been absolutely fantastic. We've tried the Pad See Eew, Pad Thai, Pad Lad Na, yellow and red curries, calamari and spring rolls. Everything has been top-notch, great portions and very affordable.
