We tried to go to a few other places before an event but they were too busy. This place had no one so we decided to stop in. We each ordered a dinner combo. I got the wonton soup! It was actually pretty good. The actual food was pretty mediocre. I probably won't ever go back. read more

Dragon Jade Restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Minnetonka, Minnesota

Probably the faster take out food on the planet. It's comes out hot and delicious, we picked it up and took it home without any complaints. If you like Schezwan in my opinion it's mild, I prefer more heat and numbness. read more

ZERO STARS THE WORST ASIAN IVE EVER HAD. TWO BITES - to the TRASH. THEY BASICALLY stole $35 from me. I ordered KungPao the only veg was CARROTS and a million Peanuts. The Egg Rolls were HEAVY like they sat in the OIL for 10 minutes too long. The other entree was Szechuan chicken - equally BAD. I once ate here four or five years ago and I guess I found the reason why I never went back. THE WORST read more

Looking for a new Chinese go-to since moving to the area. This place was highly recommended on local social media. We were disappointed. My lo mein was spicy (I had ordered it mild), my husband had king pao chicken which was mostly carrots. My son had sesame chicken and while the flavor was excellent the chicken was tough and stringy. The egg rolls had a different flavor to them that I didn't care for and the cream cheese wontons were cold. Sadly we won't be back. Such a let down when you spend $85 for a mediocre meal. I will say they are very efficient for take out as my order was ready when I got to the restaurant. read more

It was ok. We were hungry after soccer tournament so we ate the food we were given. Sesame chicken was probably the best dish . General chicken was ok. Pineapple chicken was not good . Noodles were really salty wish it had more garlic. Veggies in dishes were fresh. They charged us 2 dollars more to get veggie egg roll for every lunch combo ( which is weird because wouldn't it cost more for one with the meat , but it was cheaper if you get pork egg roll than veggie egg roll). Also it was five of us and they added tip 20% automatically so pay attention to your bill so you don't double tip. Bill for 5 for lunch was 87 . It wasn't worth it to be honest, it didn't hit the mark for the price point. Probably won't be back. The staff were nice and portions were decent. read more

The food was excellent. I had the sweet-and-sour chicken and my companion had beef with broccoli and he said it was excellent. The service was excellent. You never had to ask for anything they came to you to make sure you had what you needed. read more

The service is marvelous (especially when waited on by Jeff). He is great. Very attentive and friendly. The food is amazing. Large portions but can take home for the next day - it heats up well. Got the noodles on the side so would not be soggy the next day. Also, they have wine and beer so you can enjoy that if you are in the mood. read more

Food was great and service was excellent as always. Our guests really enjoyed the food as well. Serving size is large for lunch and at a great price. Will be back. read more

Have been going here for 35+ years and through different owners. Usually very good but have noticed that recent orders have much too much filler in some dishes. Mongolian Beef is literally half onions. Kung Pao Chicken is about 40% sliced carrots. Disappointing. read more

We love this restaurant. Me and my family love coming here to eat yummy Chinese food we like the sesame chicken it also has the perfect amount of spice! It's a perfect filing dinner or lunch . Even if you get lots of food it's super quick but if it takes long it is still worth the wait!!!!! We also like the potstickers they are so good . They have so much taste the soy sauce also makes the taste pop! We also love the sweet and sour shrimp the sauce is kind of spiced but it makes it better. And there also is absolutely no shrimp tails. The breading is so delicious and crispy!! We just love this restaurant definitely recommend if you Chinese!! read more

Our go to local favorite because the food is consistently meets our hungry expectations, the owning family is to nice, one waiter gent could do stand up comedy and we almost lost this neighborhood institution when the area was remodeled. I won't claim the Dragon Jade is Condé Nast worthy, but our family has loved Dragon Jade ever since our littles now in their early twenties asked for a pot of tea at age 10. . read more

I LOVE this family restaurant which I've been going to for years because the quality is always superb. The lunch specials are great and practically everything on the menu is very well prepared. As I age I prefer milder foods and Dragon Jade fixes anything the way you like it. The wait staff, many who've been here for years, are super friendly and accommodating. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in this area. Unfortunately it's tucked away in a corner between the other shops near a Lunds&Byerly's store. My wife worked with the owners at a famous Chinese restaurant downtown when she was going to grad school so we always stop to chat. They do a great take out business but it's a nice relaxing place to stop for lunch. read more

Clean restaurants great food great service. Ask for Jeff he works Monday through Wednesday. Great guy.

My vegetable fried rice take out was delicious and the hostess was friendly and helpful!

We love coming to the Dragon Jade. The staff is friendly. They know us and treat is like family and always put is at "our" table! The food is tastey and they are happy to adjust to suit your taste. The Chinese New Year's celebration is always fun! The live, traditional show is very colorful and fun. read more

Honestly, I almost don't want to spread this info! But this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in a LONG TIME. I will admit, I only order To Go and have never eaten indoors, but I know the employees are kind and will treat you with respect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: One of the things I always order is Cheese Wontons (Appetizers list) and Beef Chow Fun off of their House Specialties list. I always love these. Recently, I have started ordering the Beef Chow Fun sans MSG, and personally, that tastes even better to me. We would usually order other beef or chicken items (boyfriend's favorite is Sesame Chicken). Even if you order your Take Out when you arrive, it only takes about 15 minutes or less (if you order like us), so it is very fast! Ordering over the phone is very easy to do as well, and they will definitely have food ready when you arrive. read more

It is difficult to find a Chinese restaurant that hasn't lowered the quality of ingredients to the lowest possible point in order to save costs. Dragon Jade served us poor quality ingredients, poorly prepared. Enough said! read more

Good consistent tasty options. Lots of nice fresh veggies. Ample portions and very affordable. The chow Mein was the least favorite. read more

Dragon Jade offers very friendly service and decent value if you're in the area looking for Chinese American food. Nothing extraordinary but, on a recent visit the fried pot stickers, chicken broccoli stir fry and tangerine chicken were satisfying and generously portioned. I can't speak to the recent extremely negative reviews submitted by others. My son and I had modest expectations dining here for the first time and were not disappointed. We have several, closer choices for Asian food that we prefer (Wok in the Park and Yangtze to name two). However, If we find ourselves out this way again, we wouldn't hesitate to stop back in. read more

Only good if you're looking for convenience & starving. Drive a little further for quality. We keep trying and they keep disappointing. Tiger pork this time: tough meat, not many vegies, very gooey; bad balance, low quality. Little fill in egg rolls, more "fried wrap" rolls. Fried rice is boring and not much to it. Pot Stickers are OK, but sauce not so much. I will most likely order again because I support the local places and its convenient. Just need to find something that will taste fresh and not pasty or too salty. read more

Won't be back. Had Kung Pao Chicken & Sesame Chicken (take-out). Chicken in the Sesame chicken was very tough, & the chicken in the Kung Pao tasted like canned chicken. The fried rice was good though. read more

I live nearby and would go here far more often if I could, but my family overrules me. They say I do not like or eat Chinese food, so I would not know the food is not great. That is true. I do not like 99% of Chinese food because the salty smell is repugnant and food not great. What is awesome, however, is the House Soup, so good that I think about stopping here quite often. It is a huge bowl packed with noodles, veggies and meat, and they make it exactly how I want it, XXXXX super spicy (I am not Minnesotan). My youngest was adopted from China at age seven, and I should also add that this is her favorite Chinese food restaurant. She should know what is good. That says a lot. In contrast, my wife grew up in Honolulu going to the finest 5-star pre-Yelp rated white linen Chinese restaurants, where the majority of the population is Asian, so she considers herself an expert. The downgrade to 4 stars is because of her ... I am not a fair judge because I just do not like the entire category (except a beef broth dish at the Tea House in Golden Valley). What we can all agree on is the 5 star service. Super nice staff that go out of their way to coax Chinese out our daughter. The Food comes out promptly , and as I wrote, the House Soup is magnifigue. The inside of the restaurant is okay. Not cozy, but roomy and clean. Cool Chinese gate at the entrance. I'd give the interior a 3. We will be back, or at least my youngest daughter and I will. read more

Ever order from the wrong restaurant. Realize a moment too late. And then decide, let's see what happens? Well, we did. Ordered shrimp fried rice. Szechuan scallops. Egg Foo young. Honey Walnut shrimp. It was quite good. Better than the place we were thinking we were ordering from down the road. See a nice turn in the end read more

Good food but don't eat there when it's busy or the food will be overcooked! I usually eat here when craving good Chinese but the last time i went which was last Wednesday it was busy a d the food was bad and way overcooked. read more

I guess I'm used to an area with higher quality Chinese food. I just moved to Minnetonka and tried this and was hugely disappointed. I got the egg foo young and moo shu, 2 perennial favorites that were so lackluster and greasy that I ended up tossing them in the bin. It might be good for more typically "American" fried/sweet options, but I was not happy with my vegetable-heavier dishes. read more

Visiting from out east. Really really disappointed in this restaurant. Ordered Stir fry shredded beef. Instead, it was just like I ordered from a nursing home kitchen. Instead of crunchy spicy Szechuan beef with a clingy sauce, I got bland tasteless rubbery crap with sauce of brown water. Perfect for a dementia patient but not for me, even though I have been accused of dementia. Oh, and they ran out of Hot Sour soup just as I ordered. Would have given one star but my 88 yr old mom did like her Hawaiian chicken so there is that. But I hate tasteless food. All in all, pass this place up. read more

Great food and service. Some different Chinese dishes, not the same old thing as another reviewer claimed. Primarily Cantonese style; however, they will tweak and adjust dishes and spices to taste and make recommendations to mix and match for complimentary meals. The level of service and responsiveness of our waiter was awesome. Wish I could remember his name! He was very helpful and entertaining. read more

Horrible Chinese food, $70 dollars down the drain. Only ate a bite of chicken and spit it out. Taste old and greasy.

I have tried this restaurant several times over the years hoping for better results each visit. Unfortunately, it just isn't good. This time I tried the Hawaiian Chicken. It tasted more like Moo gu Guy pan with some pea pod's and canned pineapple thrown in. read more

We have frequented this place since we moved into the area 4 years ago and the food was reasonably priced and the tasted good. Well that all changed the last couple of times we have been there. The price keeps creeping up and the quality keeps going down. I had the sweet and sour chicken, my wife had the sesame chicken, we both had egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Lets start with the egg rolls, they are smaller than before and flavorless, the cream cheese wontons were bland(very little cream cheese). The sweet and sour chicken was ok a little over cooked and chewy. The sesame chicken was just ok and had very little sesame seeds. The ticket price went up about 40% and the quality went down 60%. If I wanted frozen grocery store Chinese food I would go next door and buy a nasty frozen meal. We will not be back. read more

The owner is very helpful and attentive .They welcomes you with hot Chinese tea .We ordered hot and sour soup ,lunch combo (fried rice ,wontons and orange chicken ) and egg foo young. The dishes were good except egg foo young . the egg foo young was immersed in some gravy that tastes different.Except that the experience was really good. read more

This is my honest review. I want to support local businesses (which is why I went there) but I need to warn the public on this one. Don't waste your money. Ordered General Tsao's Chicken, House Special Fried Rice and Eggrolls for pickup. The chicken was overcooked and inedible, I tried, I tried again, I threw it out. The fried rice was ok, but the shrimp were small, unseasoned and undercooked. They looked like they had been frozen a long time and then heated quickly in a pan, they were still white (freezerburn?). I have had much better eggrolls at quick wok-type restaurants like Big Bowl in Kowolski's. Sorry guys, I won't be back and I would recommend others don't either. read more

Service is above what I would typically expect of a chinese restaurant. Beef chow fun was delicious! The bay scallops for the kung pao scallops threw me for a loop but it didn't make it taste any less delicious. Typically used to seeing the regular sized scallops instead of bay scallops in chinese restaurants. The ma po tofu was good but I thought it lacked some sort of flavor that I couldn't put my finger on. Overall, it was good, solid chinese food and will plan on coming back! read more

Tried this with my family the other night and was mixed. I loved their mu shu pork- best I've had in a long time! I also thought their chicken fried rice was pretty good.
