I kid you not! I had to take it out of the trash to show you I wasn't lying!

This restaurant is disgusting! I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the rice was old and mostly likely previously cooked it had the consistency of a couscous. I called back to let them know the little RUDE UNFRIENDLY owner laughed and told me that's their style of rice ! Save your money and possibly your health! Stay away from this dirty, filthy establishment. You've been warned!

This little place is awesome!! Ordered online today and everything was fantastic. I got hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken and pan fried noodles with vegetables. I LOVED it all and can't wait to order again.

Oh I so wanted to like this place. It's close to home. It has chow mein in the name of the business. It's close to home. Unfortunately, two stars it is. We called in a takeout order and the woman told me 15 minutes. I arrived 13 minutes later and was glad that we chose takeout. The place itself is small and only has a few tables. They were fine but had old torn chairs and would not be a comfortable place to sit and eat a meal. It also looked like the couple who runs it practically lives there. I spotted a pair of their shoes haphazardly cast off to the side in the dining room (weird) and boxes of fortune cookies, plastic ware and cups are stacked up on the edge of the room. Not very inviting or comfortable. On the plus side, the area where the gentleman was doing the cooking had white tile and it looked spotless. God bless them, I love a restaurant that keeps the cooking area clean. Upon my arrival, the woman greeted me and told me it would be a few more minutes. There was one other man also waiting for his food. I offered to pay so that I could just walk out with my food and the woman seemed a little annoyed but did take my payment. Then I waited. And waited. The guy's food came. Another guy arrived. I waited. 15 minutes of waiting (and double the amount of time that I was told on the phone) and my food was ready. When I got home, the food was eh. We got eggrolls, which were OK but largely cabbage. But still good flavor and nicely wrapped and fried. We got fried dumplings, which were pretty good. I did like that they gave me (upon request) a little cup of that awesome chili oil that a lot of Chinese places have on the table. So good. The two dishes we got were just kind of eh. We got double cooked pork and pork with the Cantonese pan fried noodles. The pan fried noodles were not what I expected. They were more like those puffy rice noodles that were put in a deep fryer rather than the egg noddles fried in a skillet the way I think of. Both came in a brown sauce, and while one was sweet and one was more salty, they were practically identical at first glance. We honestly couldn't tell which was which at first. Overall, the food was really salty. Like I actually stopped eating before my first plate was done because I felt like I ate a salt lick. Also, while some items were plenty hot, others were lukewarm by the time we sat down to eat. I think it was the net result of one guy trying to cook four items... he did one first and that was the coldest. I am not sure we will be back soon.

This place is the real deal. Everything is made to order. There are no steam tables here. Sesame chicken and orange chicken are always crispy and never soggy. Not great for crowds unless you are a patient group because all items are made to order. Wonderful hot peppers in oil on the tables. Skip the appetizers and stick to the entrees. They are all good.

I love the sesame chicken but my advice is make your own rice. Rice most of the time dries up in a few hours.

We had sesame balls as an appetizer, and several dishes for the table. Everything was extremely delicious and served super hot and fast. The table favorite was the cumin lamb, definitely try that if you stop by! Family friendly, they had high chairs and were welcoming of our little one. Come support this little restaurant and enjoy some incredible Asian food!

I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef, Mapo Tofu, and the Pork Belly. Everything was tasty and have no complaints as far as the actual flavors. I do think that the Mapo Tofu should always be soft tofu rather than firm, but that's just a personal preference. The beef was plentiful and extra tender and the pork belly was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth, so good that I felt like I had to ration it throughout the next few meals. I do wish it came with more rice. I ordered three sides and only got one box of rice. I was hoping to have at least two so I can eat it for several days. However, to end on a positive note, when I walked in to pick up my order, the woman (owner possibly) was incredibly friendly and spoke Mandarin to me. She was welcoming, funny, and we briefly argued how spicy food should really be for it to be enjoyable. "The spicier the better," me thinks. Come show these guys some love!

We got 8 potstickers (they were giving 4 to each person for free to celebrate). Mouthwatering. The potstickers are the best ones I've ever had. We usually go for the chicken curry. However, this time we got the butternut squash/ shrimp mix, and their new chicken teriyaki. All of them were so flavorful, I'm pretty sure they are fresh. You can never go wrong with anything here. I would recommend everything! The only note I would make is that this is a smaller restaurant. There isn't a lot of space for the demand. If you go, I would recommend making a reservation. If you don't, you will most than likely have to wait for a table to open up. The service is always great. This time our food took a very long time, especially our main dishes. However, we don't mind waiting at all. Just a heads up that it might take a little longer than expected! Please be patient and give this place all the love it deserves.

I swirl it for 10 seconds or so then let it rest on my sauce of choice - sesame paste sauce, or chili garlic oil sauce. I'll eat it, along with noodle or rice, a qail egg perhaps. My mouth explodes with flavor. Every time. Hot pot, hot pot. In my gastronomical journey through life, Chinese hot pot is possibly my greatest encounter. And locally, it's Le Pot. Best broth bases - mala spicy, pork bone, and Tom yum are endorsed by me and my girlfriend Great foodstuffs - qual egg, udon noodles, good fatty beef, crab sticks, good old cabbage, tofu, bean curd, enoki mushroom etc - Lamb and pork are alright at this location, could be better Great sauce bar, as I can assemble my staples - Sauce 1: black vinegar, chili oil with flake, garlic oil with garlic, sesame oil, scallions, cilantro (about equal parts and adjust); season with sugar, salt and soy sauce if desired - Sauce 2: lots of sesame paste, and leave as is or maybe add scallions, chili oil, sesame seed **I do wish they had chive paste** - Sauce 3: Oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, cilantro, green onion, black vinegar Value - it's like 30-35 dollars a person here. - I often leave more satisfied here than I do after a "fancy" night on the north loop What's missing - ambiance is okay - I do like a huge communal pot - Chive flower paste - Pork and lamb could be better - Broths are good, but I like the Chicago restaurants best Local hot pot honorable mentions - the place at Asia Mall with the electric rack innovation - Legendary Spice - you are free to grab a tray and raid their fridges/freezers for whatever meat, vegetable, etc you want. But the borth wasn't as good. Overall, it's rather expensive but quality is in some ways lower than Le Pot. - J Pot - Korean bbq and hot pot.
