This pandemic year has taken a toll on my body, coupled with the fact that I've reached the age where professional help has become as essential as the air you breathe. She is very welcoming, cares about her clients, and is very good at her craft. During the pre-treatment assessment, I was asked if there were any target areas I wanted her to focus on. I only mentioned my left hip, however, as she was working on my body, she detected major stiffness in my left shoulder which has been a problem for a very long time (but failed to mention), so she took the liberty to give extra attention in that area as well. I was impressed. She also gave me a quick tutorial for scapula exercises and emailed me video links as well :) The prices are very reasonable for the amount of work and technology used per session. I love Dr Body! I see Mariko and she is amazing! She can feel where there is tightness in your body and works it in a way where you can actually feel the muscles loosening. I've had many massages in the past, but Dr Body is different as they move and position your body to work on other muscles that may not normally be worked on at a regular massage. I learned about Dr. Body a year ago via Instagram. I'm so glad I booked an appointment before arriving to Honolulu. I had a better than expected experience. This is not a regular massage but rather is a full body alignment service that includes alignment for the pelvic floor. My provider, Mina, was very comprehensive and skilled- and very nice too! She addressed my problem areas and gave me some exercises to work on at home. I really appreciated that. Just got back from my appointment with Mami and I couldn't have nicer things to say. I didn't even know this place existed and I live less than 5 minutes from here. Mami explained the cavitation and proceeded to work my tight shoulders. It was a bit louder than I anticipated but you kinda get used to it within about a minute. She was super nice and seemed genuinely interested in chatting vs the standard small talk. Then I was handed off to another lady who I do apologize I didn't catch her name but she gave an amazing massage. Their massage was very different than traditional Swedish , thai or even sports massages. Found them from Instagram, been looking for lymphatic massage. After reading reviews here wanted to give it a try. I have very tight neck and shoulders, often super sore from sitting at the desk all day and bad posture. I have broad shoulders and I've always been self conscious about my arms. Over the years, I've noticed a slight bump on the back of my neck. Because of it I always wear my hair down and wear strategic tops that elongated my neck. I went for a 90mins massage. Mami asked about my concerns and worked her magic on my shoulders and arms with cavitation, adjusted my hips and gave me one of the best massages. Also she shaped my face so it looked less puffy. I am a big skeptic hehe, the appointment I wanted to schedule was for my 21 year old construction working son. He is always in pain. Back pain, neck pain, just muscle aches all the time.
