First time visiting because I followed Akiko from her previous location. She is so wonderful at what she does. Thorough consultations every visit and she just gets my aesthetic. Goal: Graceful Aging She always makes me feel my best. And when filler and neurotoxins aren't going to give me the results I want, she always comes through with alternative solutions and a gameplan. To be precise when I first walked in I didn't feel welcomed or given any warm greetings I honestly felt out of place. I was just asked do you have an appointment and receptionist gave me a tablet to fill out forms. I was referred by someone to check it out. I took off early from work and was informed that I was late for my appointment which I was not I arrived right on time and was told by the nurse injector that filling out forms took too long so they didn't have much time to fit my appointment in and would probably only turn out to be a consultation, plus she had another client waiting. I felt rushed like I had to pick a kind of service that I wasn't sure of right away and spent money when I should've just walked out and never went back! Charity offers microneedling now! When she told me she had added SkinPen microneedling to her menu of services, I was immediately on board because I trust her completely with my skin. Her precision and attention to detail consistently show in the results I get from her treatments. I decided to try the "SkinPen Microneedling with Rejuran" after seeing it performed at the recent anniversary event. I've had microneedling before, and I always like how it improves my skin texture. I got my skin tags removed here and the staff are so friendly. I think it was Janika that took care of me. She was very sweet informative and made me feel comfortable. I was lucky to get the process done on the same day as my consultation. We basically jumped right into it. I am so happy with the results so far and am still recovering. I chose this spa because of the reviews & it's close to home for me. Booking was smooth other the phone and appreciate all the appointment reminders they send out. On the day of, checkin was easy since I filled out the intake forms online. Which I highly recommend. This was my first LHR session so I was very nervous. Valerie was the kind soul in charge of zapping me today. She answered my 500 questions and talked me through the tough zaps. Check out was smooth but I didn't receive the Yelp discount as expected. I was talked into doing 4 treatments of virtue RF, microneedling with radio frequency. After my first treatment I mentioned my face looked sunken in slightly in areas. I was told not to worry they will go over that area again to stimulate collagen. Basically, trust the process every time I went in. A month after my fourth treatment my face was completely gaunt. It took me a year to go back out of embarrassment. They took no fault and told me it was just from age, 37yrs. My face went from oval/round to completely sunken it at the temples, under my cheek bones. read more

I would give it one star- But the last doctor (or technician? idk..) acted as a medical professional who's priority is safety should. I get the concern. But hear me out..... Electrodessication- I went to have my first consultation at the end of October (27th I think) It was a later appointment (after 4PM). The nurse who saw me got my family history, asked questions and evaluated the spots I wanted treated. When I asked how much it would be, she said she could do both spots for $130 since one was small. Awesome, right? I later call in the beginning of December to actually schedule the appointment. After they asked me if I have already been evaluated, they seem to not have any of my information or record of my consultation. ( I turned in signed consent forms before my first consultation...) I am told the quote I was given was wrong. That it is $150/ spot and they wouldn't do my other smaller spot for free, like the first person I saw told me they would do. Whatever. I really want and need this done so let's just get this done. I set an appointment date. The day of my appointment arrives. I go in the office. They go through the same "have you had a consultation?" like they don't have any record of me already turning in signed paperwork.... The person who does the procedure numbs me up.. seems concerned about my skin tags.. so she brings in a second doctor for another opinion (3rd person from Honolulu Medspa now looked at my skin tags) this time they decide to refuse me the procedure and tell me to go to a dermatologist. Why couldn't the first doctor I saw make this call and spare me all the time? I disclosed my family history right away. I know the last doctor I saw just cared about my health. Its not her fault. She was very nice, but I feel like they didn't trust my knowledge of my body. I feel concerned my information wasn't reviewed properly to begin with. Yikes. I needed this done ASAP because my new pet bird was chewing at my skin tag... Well, She ended up BITING IT OFF last night. Saved me $150. Showed up to my scheduled appointment today that was confirmed with a text that THEY sent me, reminding me of my appointment and they said oh your appt. Is on Monday, nothing we can do. Sorry. My first experience was amazing here at Honolulu MedSpa. I actually won a giveaway which included: -Advanced Hydrafacial -LED Therapy -Lymphatic drainage -Illuminating Hydrojelly mask Place was easy to find and ample amount of FREE parking. Prior to my visit I was sent an email of all the forms that needed to sign and all the COVID questionnaires. Which I think is great so you don't get bombarded with all the paperworks right before your relaxing appointment. I parked the car and called to check in. They checked my temperature prior to entering the their facility. Place looks clean and spotless and they had air purifiers in the bathroom and the room where I had my treatment in. My esthetician Christina she was so nice and professional. She explained to me each treatment and what's it for. To be honest I thought I wasn't going to have a great experience because my whole treatment was free but everyone was so nice. I started my weight loss journey due to health complications. At my early 40's, I can admit and say I have neglected my health. This led to poor eating, not exercising (no motivation), just focused on work mostly. Last year , I was at my lowest. Due to my weight, I could not do normal activities that included just walking to do normal grocery shopping from 1 store to another. I was very limited with how much I walked. My doctor restricted me nothing more than 200 feet. I ending up having 2 Sacroiliac joint injections in a year on both sides. It was the worst pain. I was using a cane at times. Even had to travel once in a wheelchair. Let me first start by saying, going there was the hardest for me. I always felt judged whenever I went places to talk about my weight. She was more concerned about understanding my health conditions first before teaching me about the program. Having this discussion really made me feel comfortable and at ease. I've been going to this spa intermittently for years. It's not in the middle of town (e.g., Ward/Ala Moana) where there's heavy traffic like some of the other spas I frequent, which I really like. Always parking, quick access to the freeway. The girls in the front are pretty friendly, and I appreciate how responsive they are via text when I need to make/reschedule appts. Their prices are reasonable and competitive with the other spas, too. All credit goes to Leilani (NP), since I followed her from the previous clinic/spa she was at. She's so kind, professional, very skilled/knowledgeable at her craft, and lastly... never pushes treatments she doesn't believe you need. I trust her judgment and recommend her to everyone. I also adore Janika, who did my 2nd Fotona-4D treatment today. She sweet, funny, and provided me with great skincare tips too. However, what I am most grateful for is how thorough she was. Janika really took her time treating my face and ensured I got the most out of the treatment. I could feel the tightening right after the first (step) of the 4-step treatment. I was over the moon! I don't recommend it. I have been doing botox for over 10 years and I know what the result should be. I received 36 units (it is a LOT) in the forehead area on the first visit and some more (3 injections) on the second visit. My request was to raise my left eyebrow to the level of my right, this is exactly why I do Botox. And look at the result after 2 visits. I'm super upset because I spent like $500 on nothing and I need to go somewhere else to lift my poor eyebrow and remove my wrinkles. Very upset. This has never happened before. *Policies need to be in place for when a nurse cannot get an IV in* usually if a nurse cannot get it on 2 tries another nurse needs to be called in. I had an awful experience March 26th 2021. I moved off island and finally feel comfortable sharing my experience. At the time I worked at QMC a few of my co workers had been here before & I was dealing with acne and wanted a hydra facial, I felt comfortable knowing there were nurses working here. My first visit was January20th 2021 visit was for a hydra facial and a IV drip, during those dates there was a promo for facial + IV for a discounted price. It was my first time there and when my facial was done, I asked the master esthetician when my IV would start and she didn't realize I was supposed to receive an IV and told me the nurses had gone home for the day. Before my facial I double checked with the secretary about my services I just don't think the message was relayed to anyone as the secretary knew I was supposed to get an IV. Later I talked to management and let them know what happened. They offered me a free IV for next time so now I had 2 IV's in my patient chart. I wish I had realized that not getting an IV was for the best... in March I came back for the IV I was supposed to originally get and I paid for another facial, this time I knew that while getting my facial I should be receiving my IV. Esthetician put IPL safety glasses on me since she was using a bright light for extractions, while I had the goggles on the nurse came in and started her first attempt at poking me for the IV drip. I can't see what the nurse is doing which made me a little nervous but I wanted to trust whoever was poking me, I am also a healthcare worker but didn't tell her or my esthetician. In my experience If you cannot get it on the first poke then you should ask for help. I don't know if this was a new nurse I have textbook veins for an IV drip/blood work. So I right away feel that she wasn't able to get it on the first poke, she tries again in the same area... she apologizes and tries again. This is the third poke now, the nurse assured me that she can get it done, she moves over to my other arm and pokes me 3 more times on my other arm... so we are at 6 attempts now. Meanwhile my esthetician is doing extractions on my nose so I am in pain but trying to be patient. Looking back I was so patient because the nurse kept telling me she was sorry and I honestly felt bad that she couldn't get a simple IV in me. She decided to move to my hand which I really really didn't want I had a full week of work ahead of my and didn't want my hands to be bruised at the hospital. Looking back I should not have let her poke me again but like I said she was very apologetic and kept saying she could do it and that this never happens to her. She wasn't able to get it in my hand so she moved over to my other hand where she finally got the IV in so this is 8 pokes. My hand was immediately really sore and I don't typically like to have an IV run through a hand but it was the only vein she could get. She did give me a stress ball to help her find my veins. She told me this never happens to her and it was a one off & she left the room. The entire time I was not able to see what was going on and halfway thru her poking me I had a mask that was put over my lips so I couldn't speak. It was complete torture, the next day at the hospital people asked me what happened to my arms because they were completely bruised. I told my co workers what happened and they all advised me to report this location. Everyone was shocked and I was as well I blamed myself for what happened. I was being way too nice to the nurse. I never went back to this med spa and I still have that "free IV" in my chart. Please be careful and don't be scared to speak up when a nurse is doing something wrong. I should have reported them a long time ago but some of the nurses that worked at Honolulu med spa also worked at the hospital I was working at. I've been here three times and have had exemplary service. The first time I was here for a YEE. They explained the services and procedures that they offer. We got to witness it first hand. They had models come in and performed it on them. I was entered into a drawing and won. I was so ecstatic. I won the SkinCeuticals Brightening System ($318) and an Advanced Medical Facial ($185). Thank you for being so generous Honolulu MedSpa. They also gifted everyone at the YEE a $100 gift card to spend on services or products. The second time I went back was for the free facial and to get my Brightening System. Janica did my facial and she was wonderful. The Advanced Medical Facial is the best. They tailor the mask to your skin type. It also comes with a chemical peel and a combination of correcting serums. The best part is it also includes a shoulder and neck massage. Before I left, I purchased a cleanser and a matte sunscreen. Today, I went there to buy another Brightening System. I love SkinCeuticals. It's the best skincare I have ever used, and I've tried everything on the market. I guess you would see results as it's medical grade. POOR MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was looking for a regular place to have facials twice a month. I had a hydra facial here and thought it was nice. For my next visit, I wanted to treat myself to a facial with my daughter and made two simultaneous appointments for us 5 weeks ahead of time. When we arrived we were told that my daughter's appointment had been cancelled due to a sickness. I was surprised as I never received a phone call or anything to be told this or reschedule our appts. She receptionist said "we sent a text". I'm like, okay, but some you think it would be best to call (apologize) and attempt to reschedule our appointments? I would think most businesses would go this route for something like this. Not this place, just a text... more than that, I received a confirmation text from the HMS on my phone confirming my facial appt. After all the confusion, I realized the "cancellation text" was sent from another number (not the same number as the confirmation number when I received) which sent it to my "unknown numbers" and didn't get received. The receptionist barely apologised to me and it felt as if she didn't care. About to walk me into my appointment, I wasn't going to leave my daughter and make her wait for my while I got my facial and she just sat there. It was super LAME!! When I asked if they had an option to reschedule us, she said it was 2 weeks away (& my daughter will be back in college at that time). I am still floored that their policy to cancel an appointment is via text. That is absolutely unacceptable to me. You should reach out to the client via phone call at least once or twice, APOLOGIZE for the inconvenience and attempt to reschedule as soon as you can. You see, things happen, it's how you handle it that reflects your customer service. My daughter and I chose this "spa" to book our facial appts in preparation for my son's graduation & grad party. The cancelled appts WERE A HUGE BUMMER FOR US AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DISAPPOINTING. In the end, we left that day and I thought I'd give it a few days to hear from a manager or someone who cares. I've waited 5 days to post this review... nothing. So, here is my take- I think this is a factory "spa" offering services with options for facials, injections, lasers and such. Do they do a good job, they are fine, do they value you as a customer, most definitely not. HMS you can and should do better. I will not be returning. I recently completed my 7th laser hair removal session and I am so happy with the results! There's absolutely no hair growing in the area I treated. I'm planning on going back in a few months for a maintenance session but overall, I'm so happy! HYDRAFACIAL I've always had problematic skin but recently it's been especially angry so I decided to book a Hydrafacial with my favorite aesthetician Lea! The facial took about an hour long and the ambience of the room was very calming and comforting. What I liked most about the facial (besides Lea's expert advice) was that they don't only treat your face - they also treat your neck and décolletage (upper chest area) since those are important areas people often neglect. Although I haven't had many facials in the past to compare this to, this Hydrafacial was THE BEST. My post-traveling, dry skin already feels more hydrated and happier even a few hours after my appointment. Did you know that your body's largest organ, the skin, takes up about an area of 20 square feet? As we age, we have all exposed our skin to all sorts of pollutants but your face is particularly vulnerable because we don't protect it with any sort of garment. Women who normally wear make-up will go through some sort or skincare regimen as they prepare their facial skin to put on or take off their cosmetics. After attending a recent Yelp Elite Event at Honolulu MedSpa, I realized that I've neglected my facial skin. Alas, I've never been one to wear make-up and struggle with the idea of purchasing skincare products. In the past, I've used a mineral-based cosmetic line but Honolulu MedSpa demonstrated a cosmeceutical (cutting-edge products between cosmetics and pharmaceuticals) skincare system called "SkinCeuticals". I understand that my negligence, mainly from sun damage during my younger years, has been leading me to looking like a shar-pei as I age. So, armed with the very generous gift card from the Yelp Elite Event, I returned to purchase several products that impressed me during the demonstration. I'm on my way to a skincare regimen that I can expect to see improvement through topical application rather than surgical procedure(s). Reese (sp?) was there to help me with my selections to get me started on this skincare system (clean, correct, prevent, moisturize and protect). I also purchased a sunscreen that has a high (50) SPF that has a slight tint but blends into my skin with a matte finish. Professional. Great deals. Awesome staff! I recently went in for my first laser appointment with Tiana and everything went smoothly and I was in and out within 30 minutes! Upon arriving, you are required to call and check-in with staff due to covid protocols. The inside of the building also looks very modern and absolutely spotless. Tiana also did a great job explaining the ins and outs of the procedure and was also open to answering the questions I had at the time of the visit. I highly recommend booking with Tiana when considering Honolulu Medspa. She did an awesome job! Parking: There are designated stalls out front and you are also required the call once you find parking. If medspa stalls are not open, there are other stalls close by. read more
