They were very conservative with their treatment and clearly outlined the risks associated with what I was receiving. Absolutely fell in love with the ultra hydra facial!!! I've been slacking on getting facials for a while now & have been trying to be more proactive in taking care of my skin. I even started using their skincare products & sticking to the regime of washing my face in the morning & evening, which is such a chore but worth all the results! My skin has looked and felt the best it has in years. I've also had 2 laser treatments Brazilian area for hair removal. I had 4 treatments over 10 years ago with just a little hair left, but let me tell you lasering has come a LONG way. Before getting lasered wasn't as fun as it was hair for hair longer process, & more painful. This spa has this cooling numbing gel thats a blessing from God! Lol it went on and immediately starting lasering with little to no pain. My tech for laser and aesthetician was Jess, she's the absolute best! She made me feel so comfortable during the laser treatments when you can feel very vulnerable in that position (Brazilian). During my facials I feel very pampered but know she's also handling my face to get rid of all the unwanted things in/on there! I feel confident in seeing Jess because her experience knowledge for skin products and what is best for your face. My skin just glows when I'm done with my facials and I can see and notice the difference in helping with fine lines. My opinion hasn't changed. I wanted to share one more thing. Where ever you go, ask them to fill the syringe in front of you. I made the mistake of allowing the "nurse" from this fraudulent establishment to leave the room and come back with a filled syringe. NEVER, EVER allow this to happen. My personal rule is they must fill the syringe from the glass bottle in front of you. Don't accept "oh we mix our own." Walk away if they attempt this. And they should be injecting into the muscle. This pinches, but is worth it. They tried to tell me about this Korean technique...reject it and stick with injecting into muscle. I've told everyone I know to stay away from this place. Of all the places that you can go to get Botox on this island, I highly suggest you look past this business. Go to Dr. Grima at Straub. Still 5 stars! For the month of July they're having a great deal for laser hair removal because they got voted best of Honolulu for it! The deal is BOGO buy one and get one free. Since July is my Birthday month I decided to treat myself to a laser hair removal Brazilian treatment! Finished my last session on my underarms and I couldn't be any happier! It's a blessing not shaving everyday and not having ingrown hairs in my pits, lol. My dermatologist said that some people are more prone to ingrown hairs and I'm one of them, which sucks. Anyways, I just started my first session and things are already clearing/lightening up for my hair follicles. Even my normal ingrown hairs are already gone! I'm such an advocate of laser hair removal now, I'm hooked! I spent about $625 for 6 sessions and I feel that the pricing is right. My tech, was awesome! I was running a little late I originally had my appointment at 1 but they had an opening for 2pm and I took that one. The receptionists are always nice, courteous, and very knowledgeable. The Brazilian procedure for this area took about 30 minutes and the area is considered a "medium" area. Armpits are considered a small area. When doing the Brazilian and all other laser hair removal treatments make sure you're shaven, they do touch ups for free, but if your area isn't clean shaven they'll charge you a maintenance fee. My Brazilian for me it didn't hurt that bad only by my hood and by my lips are where I felt more sensitivity, but my tech was so good and making me feel at ease. You go into the room the tech tells you what's going to happen etc and you undress and put the towel over your lady bits. She comes back in and informs you on what's about to happen. They always provide protective eye wear during the procedure. Then the tech puts jelly on the area of treatment and that's that you get started. It lasted like I said 30 minutes then I was on my way. The tech told me the first session is always the most difficult because your hair follicles are so thick and whatever, which I believe because the same thing was for my underarms. After it was done she gave me a clean towel to clean up with and that was that! Just no exercising and sun exposure after for about 24 hours. They give you after care instructions as well if you don't know or you can't remember. I still need to call and make an appointment for my next session, but I can't wait! So no LEILANI did NOT listen to me AT ALL! Putting more then Half a syringe in my bottom lip alone was not going to make my lips even. I Don't care how long Leilani was a nurse, she DOES NOT LISTEN. My other review was a lot longer so I had to make it short and cut out how I had to make you guys see me. How you were going to make me PAY to put filler in my top lip. Then how you guys MADE ME LEAVE because you didn't want to deal with me!!! My bottom right lip still has that discoloration to it & it actually spread to an Even bigger area. I still have that hard bump in my bottom left lip. And to add something new my bottom lip literally has a split right down the middle of it!!!! This popped up about a week ago. A big line!!! I have been coming here for a year. At first it was to just get my under arms done. Now I can't stop thinking of what I want done next. I was super scared getting it done the first time, but now I take it like a champ. It's literally 30 seconds of your life and it's over. Ladies, if you want to stop shaving like daily because we now lIve that Hawaii life, this is where you should go. Like my armpits are photoshop quality! Also the products they sell. They are one of the only places you can buy Alastin products. These products are a game changer. Came to Honolulu MedSpa because of the gift card I received from a Yelp party (I looove Yelp parties). It came at a good time because I was in search of a place to get a good facial. I had met a week early for a consultation and the lady (sorry can't remember her name), gave me some options. I didn't want to do anything really drastic so I opted for a medical grade facial which lucky for me had a special running that included (a very expensive) eye cream. My facialist made me feel at ease and explained each step that she was doing. Honestly, since this was a "medical grade facial" I thought it would be kind of painful. But I felt super relaxed and even got a nice shoulder massage. Even the light chemical peel just had a slight tingle on my face but no pain at all. My facialist and I joked around cause I almost thought it wasn't working since I didn't feel anything at all at first. My facial was about an hour and I really didn't want it to end. She did some extractions but nothing crazy. I didn't really have much redness after which was good. I definitely felt refreshed and cleansed after it was over. As for the pricing, yes it is pretty expensive.. even with my gift card. Thank goodness for that gift card!! I might not do this all the time but it's a nice treat to do once in awhile! read more

I have been to a few injectors in Honolulu and this is one place I would not trust again with my skin and/or face. My first experience with Dysport with Lisa was good. I went back and referred my friend but we saw different RNs who were not as good as Lisa unfort. My friend spent thousands of dollars here on fillers and Botox, I spent a few hundreds on Botox, both of us had better experiences other places. My friend was severely bruised and her Botox did not seem to take effect over a week later which never happens. On top of both of us not being very satisfied w our treatments, they told us both I would get $50 off for referring her, but at checkout forgot to apply my discount. No biggie, accept when I noticed and called the next day, no one called me back. A week later after my vacation, I called again. The front desk said only the manager could refund me, so I spoke with her. She was unhelpful and told me all they could do is apply the discount on a future service if I book again. Why would I trust them again with my skin, face and my money when they admit they overcharged me but refuse to refund me? She said she would talk to the owner but then emailed me back the same thing that I'd have to book another service again with them to get the discount I should have already had. HUH? It's laughable. I tried to call the manager Shay back to explain that's not fair and she doesn't return my calls or emails. Very poor customer service. Shay should not be a manager. She doesn't hold her office staff accountable or make things right with the customer when they make mistakes. They just want more of your money and don't care. Very sad. I would suggest either Rita at Shim Ching or Stacy with Scott Anderson office if you want a quality injector and excellent team/customer service for the same prices as this place. I've had preventative Botox a lot before so I know what to expect. I'm very disappointed in my results from this MedSpa. It's like the treatment didn't work at all or never even happened! Every other time I've had it, I have been so happy and impressed with my results. I went in for a follow up appointment and received more units and I'm still unhappy. They also have this option of texting when they answer, what a joke. No one responds. What makes it worst!!! She is extremely detailed in her appointment, talks to you and makes sure to give you what you are in there for. I genuinely felt she enjoys what she does. There is a parking lot, the place is cute and clean, she has a really sweet assistant that is really helpful and makes you comfortable through the procedure which I really appreciated. I recommended this place to a friend of mine because I've had nothing but great experience to date. Unfortunately I'm sad to say their customer service has gone down hill. Before drafting this post I really wanted to give them a chance to make it right. I called to communicate a complaint on behalf of my friend and requested to speak with a manager. I was told Bridgette would give me a call by the end of the day. It's been 3 days and I've not heard a peep. My girlfriend (gf) went in for a Brazilian laser treatment and was told to shave beforehand. Mind you when I had my first treatment I was told the same thing but the receptionist did not go into detail of how clean shaven you must be. So when I went I was told I didn't clean it enough and the nurse mention they usually charge a shave fee but was nice enough to waive it because I mention the instructions were not clear. I even told the receptionist after my treatment that pretreatment instructions should be more thorough for newbies like myself. Fast forward same thing happen to my gf. Well her aesthetician, Kanoe told her she can't get a full laser treatment because she wasn't shaven enough. I told my gf that happen to me too but they can charge a fee to shave which she was more than willing to pay but with COVID they were no longer shaving their clients. My gf walked away with a partial treatment but charged for a full. She was upset and I too was upset for her. Treatments like this is not cheap so how is it right to charge someone a full treatment when you didn't get a full treatment nor was it clearly explain properly before coming in to force it on the client to pay for that visit. Kanoe didn't even offer her a disposable razer at the time to give her the opportunity to clean herself better. Instead she just told her she had to stop and let her on her way. It's unfortunate because when you recommend a business you put your your credibility on the line. I have always had great service but it turns out they're all with nurses who I'm told will no longer be treating laser service patients but rather aestheticians moving forward. I have one more treatment left and will not be coming back. I had hope that they would of provided the level of service you expect from a 4 star business. It shouldn't take a bad review to get a response and sadly I do notice more negative reviews from this place in the past year. Hawaii is such a small island and bad reviews spread faster than good. I can't imagine there being a better spa on the island! Honolulu Medspa is the most amazing place I have been for facial treatments over the past 15 years! I get Botox injections across my forehead and between my eyebrows for tension migraines. Nurse Arlene and the entire staff are absolutely amazing! I highly recommend nurse Arlene although I hear everyone is pretty wonderful! I was pleasantly surprised by how conservative they are on injections. I'm certain it's a case-by-case situation. I can tend to get migraines from the injections instead of help for the first week. I haven't had one headache after treatment and it's been a month! After coming to this GORGEOUS medspa for a Yelp Elite event, I came back to receive my very first Botox and filler injections. When I walked in, I was instantly greeted by name and made to feel like I was their most favorite client (let's be honest, I totally am - haha) and waited in their comfortable lobby. It was sooo chill in fact my husband actually fell asleep in the chair. We were called back a few moments later by Courtney. I think it's important to mention that Courtney is so beautiful - and that can be intimidating IF she also didn't have an amazing personality. She explained the products and services, talked to me about what I could use to improve my self esteem and made a plan with me for the services. I ended up getting a full (20 units) of Botox on my forehead in my 11s and around my brows for a mini lift effect. She used a numbing cream first and then got started. It didn't hurt and I'm a baby so that's saying something. The results take a week to fully show up. I'm coming back in a week to have fillers in my under eye area (tear trotters - hilarious name) and I splurged on a laser hair removal package because, why not? They're so awesome here and totally professional. Aside making me look and feel better about myself, they also laugh at my jokes. Honolulu MedSpa recommended that I should get my lips filled with Juvederm + botox. Instead of both, I went for Juvederm lip filler to plump up my lips. However, 2 weeks later I was on vacation and took a lot of pictures and saw that my lips looked the same as before. I was scheduled to go back for my lips from when I got my fill to make sure everything was OK. Here I expressed that I did not see a difference and my pictures showed that. My experience so far has been that their equipment is current technology, providing better results and a much more pleasant encounter than what I've experienced elsewhere. The two aestheticians who worked with me were capable and professional. Similarly, the reception staff are professional and competent. Thanks to the special deals they offer, the cost (to me) has been reasonable for the services rendered. Not everyone at Honolulu MedSpa has been friendly--some seem genuinely nice, some are fake nice, and some are aloof. I've seen the demeanor of a couple of the fake nice people change to slightly huffy when I have politely declined to be added to their mailing list, for example. Another irritation about this place is their paperwork. Upon my first visit, I was presented with umpteen pages of personal/medical info forms, waivers of the right to medical malpractice litigation regardless of what they do or the treatment outcome, etc. Now that they've streamlined their paperwork, I was again presented with the "new and improved" form and asked to sign/initial two additional pages of indemnification type paragraphs. I have also noticed that while they emphasize your arriving on time or early, they keep you waiting 10-15 minutes to be taken back to the treatment room. I was able to ask questions over the phone and make an informed decision Good system Honolulu MedSpa uses to keep their clients informed about their appointment is excellent (texts, emails, phone calls). I received both texts and email confirmations for my appointment. The facility was clean and the ambiance was appropriate for its spa qualities. While walking through the facility, I was greeted by all staff who I passed. The actual laser hair removal treatment (Brazilian and underarms) was not at all awkward because Keiko made me feel comfortable. She made sure to keep asking if I was doing alright during the treatment. The treatment was in fact "virtually painless". Keiko did a very good job and was very thorough by ensuring that all areas were covered efficiently. She also explained what was happening as she did it. The machine used, Soprano ICE, is supposed to be the best and latest technology, which is what makes the process "virtually painless". I left the spa feeling AMAZING and excited that my hair was on its way to being gone forever and with little pain!!! Overall, Honolulu MedSpa is an excellent spa to receive treatment for laser hair removal as well as the various other services provided. Update: 10/2/2011 since my first post with Honolulu Medspa, I tried a few of the services: -Extended bikini (laser hair removal) -Underarm (laser hair removal) -Hydrofacial -Vitalize (peel) MOST RECENT I also attended the 10 year anniversary weekend event, joining the 90 day peel challenge they have as a promotion going on right now and have been using the following products: -(Skinceuticals) face wash -(Skin Medica)TNS $250 -(Skinceutials) under eye -(Skin Medica) face sunblock -powder -Latisse I have been using all the products for about a couple of months now. I would say that there's an improvement in my eyelashes but nothing fabulous. I heard for each woman it's different though. One lady I talked to says she has an allergic reaction. As for the skin medica and skinceuticals products, I have noticed a huge difference. The bags under eyes haven't completely gone away but it has definitely improved. For hydrofacial, everyone says that it's amazing but a couple of days after I still have a little bit of acne problems. It's not bad right now but I was expecting a lot maybe too much. I give them 5 stars because I can't think of anything major they AREN'T doing right. I've never had a problem with parking, customer service is superb, prices are high but the promotions are DEFINITELY helpful and bumped what I gave last time of four stars to 5 stars. The place is very modern, chic and clean. And everyone has been helpful. I also like how they're very interactive with their customers having the 90 day peel challenge and the 10th anniversary weekend event. If they keep it up, I have a feeling that they're going to have TOO many customers lol What I love about this Medspa is that the front desk is super friendly and nice. The manager is just super sweet and helpful. All the staff, everyone that I went to see has been really nice and has made me feel comfortable. It does get busy though so I think my first time made a different impression. I think they also make it more affordable for everyone by doing their promotions and discounts because I don't think I'd be so much of a regular and devote a lot of my money on time if there wasn't a lot of promotions. I love this place! All the employees are knowledgeable, friendly and very attentive to your needs. Prior to finding this place, I went to another place in Ala Moana for my botox and feel VERY uncomfortable by the injection nurse. I've seen both Kourtney and Leilani here and they were both so nice to work with. They often have specials on their website for a great deal. Regardless, I will continue to go to them for the professionalism, convenience of location and friendly employees. read more

I didn't end up going as the front staff were quite rude. Maybe the guy I was talking to over the phone was having a bad day or something. I remained polite was taken aback by how rude he was. I would think that for how much I'm paying I'd get better service. Called them up to schedule a consultation and a guy answered. He sounded annoyed and condescending. He took my info down and we scheduled my consultation . He didn't ask me if I had any more questions so before he was about to hang up, I quickly asked him to confirm their address. He quickly spat out '1415lilihastreet, I'm sendingoversomepapers for you to fill out, okay seeyouthengoodbye.' and ended the call. Wow. He said everything so quick that I didn't even get the right address (it should've been 1450 liliha street, not 1415). He didn't send me an email with that patient intake form I was supposed to fill out. In fact, I didn't hear back anything from them prior to my confirmation. That put me on the fence with even continuing. Was I really gonna give them money when I was treated like an inconvenience?! Then I had a COVID-19 scare from a coworker so I ended up calling to cancel just in case. The lady over the phone had a similar demeanor and told me that I would have to pay a $50 cancellation fee. However, I was NOT told of any cancellation fee. I also did not sign any papers or documents (because the first dude didn't even send them over). So why would I have paid that without ANY notice? She waived it for me, thankfully. But there are definitely communication issues that need to be fixed. I wish I had a better experience. I will not be coming back here. read more

Nurse Leilani is an amazing Botox injector!I go to her for TMJ and filler. She's kind, calm, and talks through every step of the procedure, making me feel safe and informed. Every now & then I have days where absolutely nothing goes right; today was one of them. My alarm didn't ring which made me late to my first class + my new phone started to run at a snail's pace. I spent 30 minutes trying to find a FedEx building & grew increasingly frustrated since Google's directions weren't helpful, so I bought a GPS app that refused to work. When I thought my day couldn't get any worse, it started to pour. As soon as I declared it a "BAD DAY!!!", I remembered the appointment I had for a complimentary facial. A few weeks ago I won a contest & the prize was an "Essential Facial" at the Honolulu MedSpa. If there was ever a day I needed to de-stress, this was definitely one of them. I know it sounds silly, but I was nervous about getting a facial because I have some unpleasant "horror" stories from beauty treatments (you can ask me about it) but after my first facial I'm in LOVE! When I stepped inside the treatment room, I was greeted by soft lighting & soothing music which made me forgot about my chaotic day. Josalynn, a truly talented esthetician with magical hands, helped ease my initial anxiety by informing me about what she was going to do next, educated me about my skin & informed me about various ways I could reach my skin's full potential. If its been awhile since you spoiled yourself or need an hour to de-stress, I highly suggest booking an appointment at the Honolulu MedSpa for any one of their services, especially their facials!
