LaserAway has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. After spending well over $10,000 on laser packages alone (plus thousands more on Botox), I can confidently say they are significantly more expensive than competitors--and the results are no better. They also avoid transparent pricing, instead flooding your email with "deals" while requiring consultations just to get actual numbers. The scheduling is where things really fall apart. Nearly every other appointment has been rescheduled--often within an hour of my appointment time, when I'm already on my way. When I do make it in, I'm usually waiting 20-30 minutes past my scheduled time. However, when I was 10 minutes late once due to holiday parking at Ala Moana, they told me they had to reschedule half of my appointment. When I came back for the rest of the appointment. I waited 45 minutes just to be seen. I've also had appointments mysteriously disappear from their system entirely, forcing me to reschedule from scratch. My most recent experience was the final straw for this review. After being rescheduled twice, I was given a 10:00 AM appointment (their opening time). I, along with five other customers, stood outside for over 25 minutes because the store didn't open until after 10:25. Every person there shared similar frustrations after being treated the same. On top of that, my appointment was incorrectly booked for only half the services I normally receive, and there was no one available to schedule my follow-ups. After completing a survey about these issues, a regional manager from San Diego, reached out, promising to call me and personally handle my scheduling. I provided my availability multiple times over the course of A MONTH. Despite repeated promises, including from this week, I never received a call. It's incredibly disappointing to be treated this way after spending so much money. Unfortunately, I still have remaining sessions in my package, so I'm stuck returning for now, but I strongly recommend going anywhere else. The only positive I can mention is that the nurses themselves have been kind and understanding and have even acknowledged how poorly customers are being treated. read more

I was solicited for a special RF micro needling procedure that cost a lot of money even with the "discount", it could have been the technician went too lightly but it was a total waste of my time and money. I have had micro needling before and even when it's done gently there is some cell turnover and light peeling if the skin. This did absolutely nothing. I've been with LaserAway since August 2023. Today was my last appointment with them. This is my final and honest review as a whole: Since the beginning, when i learned about laseraway through social media, i took the laser away quiz to learn that a laser treatment is best recommended for what i was looking for. It's located near surfers bakery, Starbucks, and spectrum. Parking is free but hopefully you'll find one. Assume that the mall will be crowded during peak time. The lobby is clean and tidy along with checking in which is not a problem. Help yourself with some water too. Before enrolling as a client with LA, you receive a free consultation as soon as you receive the quiz results. The consultation tells you their promotions and if you agree to the terms verbally, then they will send you a text message with a link attached to continue your registration. You are also given a bunch of consent forms on that link--the link is basically your account that you've just created. The consent forms consists of the type of treatments that you are going to do. You will need to check off on the treatments you're going to be doing and electronically signing to the terms and conditions. LA also offers no interest payment plans to your treatments for up to 1 year. From the first to maybe the 4th treatment in, i have learned that LA in Ala Moana was okay. The staff are nice but i was very frustrated with their schedule system. The longest that I've waited(this was from my 1 st appointment) was OVER 30 minutes just to get treated for ~15 minutes. Months forward, and I believe it was 3rd or 4th treatment in. The wait time still had no change and it was frustrating and i felt that my time is not valued, especially as a returning client. I also received lip fillers sometime in October. I combined that appointment with my laser treatment. It was fun trying something new. The cost of the lip fillers is about the average cost that you can get anywhere else. However, i had points which covered a $100 off on my lip fillers. Yes, there's a point system based on how much dollars you spend at laseraway and this is all from your treatments. My lips today definitely got a little more full. Would i recommend lip fillers? Why not. However, I do know certified and licensed professionals who would charge a lot less than what was charged to me at LA. I just wanted to try it out and I would consider doing another refill with LA. This was considered as another treatment. So anytime that you get a different treatment type, then that is also considered as another non-interest payment loan plan. The consultant over the phone messed up my loans options actually. The consultant confirmed that i was to be charged with a laser treatment but she put my loan plan into the hydro facial payment plan which was less than the laser treatment. The loan plan could not be fixed so instead that had to adjust the plan by creating an additional plan. Supposedly i had to pay for 2 loan accounts but ended up paying 3. On one appointment where i was 30 minutes early, i checked in early but they told me to come back until my appointed time due to their other customers being serviced. And at one appointment i was about 5-10 minutes late due to peak time weekday traffic -- then i waited in the lobby for about 30 minutes. The wait time from today's appointment was on time for my last one. I did however get another new nurse. I was a little concerned about how she did my treatment as she did not wear ANY PPE at all. I'm actually relieved to say that the front staff did not announce me any offers right now because when they do after every treatment, they tell me that this offer expires either today or tomorrow. This is how they get you. It's okay to humbly decline the offer though or that you will think about it and give them a call. The front staff told me that they'll email me a breakdown on other potential treatments which i would rather receive than on the spot-- that way i don't need to give an answer right away but rather take time to think about it. The staff overall are nice, and this is why i enjoyed my time being a customer at LA. Atleast when i was in the process of my appointments, the efficiency was there. Would i do any more treatments there again? Yes. Do i see the results? Yes. However, touch ups are going to be needed if you want a permanent -- and what i like to call it "bald eagle" (lol). Do i think that they should improve on their wait times? Definitely. Also the cost. I think it's important to know your options at LA and with other competitors. If you can afford it, then i encourage you to do it and go through the experience. In the meantime, this'll be my last review here, maybe until further notice. We'll see! I got the loan for potenza package and I cancelled the transaction in April (never used any of it at all) and they said they would refund it and now it has been 4 months but keep promising to refund it but instead they put me in collection which affect my scores a lot. Avoid LaserAway at all costs! LaserAway had recommended 42 units in my forehead (the most I've ever received) and I was left with a half frozen forehead (frozen hairline but a bunching of wrinkles above my forehead creating an eyebrow bulge). I called several times with no call back and finally made another appointment where they recommended another 26 units (totaling 68 units - insane!) and they charged me for it! Katrina V and Brian G (corporate managers, not medical professionals, mind you) condescendingly told me I didn't understand how Botox worked. They insisted that my own perception of my face was wrong, and that needing nearly 70 units in my forehead was completely normal (I'm 95 lbs with a small face and my typical treatment is 20-30 units). Botched treatment of 42 units and then they charged me another 26 units to fix it! 68 units on the forehead is insane! But Brian G insisted that looking at my photos, I need 50 units? I spoke with 3 dermatologists who all discredited what Brian G had said. Aside from this Botox nightmare, you get a different new nurse every time with no consistency in treatment. They are likely brand new nurses with high turnover as this is an entry-level position or side gig. If you value your face and consistency, do NOT go to LaserAway. LaserAway's business model seems to be built on luring customers in with cheap deals, upselling them on unnecessary treatments, and then abandoning them when things go wrong. If you see 5 star reviews on Google, it's because LaserAway offers $50 credit if you post a 5 star review. That discredits most of these positive reviews. read more

it was not worth the $2500. if you're coming here with the intentions of never having to shave again, this probably isn't the place. i bought the brazilian + underarm package and did a total of 8 sessions and unfortunately the hair still grows back. yes it's thinner and it doesn't grow back to a full bush (or maybe that's just because it is easier to maintain & i constantly shave), but i was under the impression that i wouldn't have to worry about that ever again. all the employees swore up and down they've had no issues but also constantly recommended touch ups after a certain amount of time which felt really contradicting but i just looked past it.... the employees do a really good job at "relatability" and making you trust them. but shouldn't they have just included more sessions in the package instead of making you pay for another separate one on top of it? another thing to note is that every single time i showed up to my appointments, they were ALWAYS running 30 minutes late (just like other reviews say). always. but they'll reschedule your appointment if you're just 5 minutes late, even if you give them prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances (aka town traffic since they're located at the busiest mall on island). lastly, i absolutely hated how PUSHY they were when it came to newsletters, texts, calls-- their whole marketing strategy is soooo clearly cash grabby. they're always advertising sales... which means that they want you to think you're getting a deal but in reality that's their actual pricing. and unfortunately i fell victim to it. if you're looking for guaranteed laser hair removal that isn't just out for your money, please reconsider and research more into other places like i should have done. read more

Untrustworthy company. They mention sales and promotions to sell you as much treatments as they can. And whatever you do, do not finances payments with them, it's better to just use your credit card. Then if you choose a payment plan that seems good you'll actually end up paying 24% interest after your promotion period ends. Something I wasn't made clearly aware of. Then when you try to call the representative who helped you and sold you the package, their voicemail is full and not accepting messages. Very deceitful and once they got your money they don't care about you. They hugely inconvenience you by constantly making you wait so long to be seen, meanwhile if your more then 5 minutes late they won't see you and by canceling your appointments when you're already in the the clinic, after already prepping by staying out of the sun and shaving according to the required timeline before treatments, because they're overbooked and usually understaffed, even when you're on a schedule for treatments and booked months in advanced. Btw when you're forced to, it's really hard to reschedule appointments, especially if it's for a multiple treatments or anything that that takes a long time, unless you're willing to wait weeks, because their scheduled is pretty full. So if you want to do multiple laser hair removal treatments at the same time to stick to a schedule aka their recommended timeline for treatments, and not have to come back multiple days and times with different laser schedules, even when you schedule weeks or months in advanced, expect to run into a lot of frustrating problems. The lack of care or respect for customers is apparent and shocking since they're so nice and promising of an amazing experience when they're selling you their services. The laser hair removal treatments don't even work as good as they promise they will, when you go to get them done the nurses are a little more honest and let you know more realistic expectations and the true percentage of hair removal results, plus you will still need constant routine maintenance after completing a package for desired results, which they will always promote to you. Also some nurses are amazing and careful at what they do and others seem rushed (which they are because they're understaffed and have a full schedule) or not as experienced, like the same treatment could take 1/2 the time with some nurses vs others and it seems like they miss or skip areas and just do a lot less lasering. It sucks when you feel like your money is being wasted because you're literally not feeling or getting the same consistent experience or results with each treatment in your package. Overall, I'm very disappointed with their financing, deceptive sale tactics, inconsistent quality of services, and generally inconsiderate, poor treatment of paying customers. I will not be continuing to purchase services with this company in the future. There are better local options who value and truly care more for their patients and customers, even after the purchase has been made. read more

LaserAway just opened today 10/5/2022 at Ala Moana Center! They're located on the first floor next to MeetFresh and Starbucks. You literally get what you pay for with the beautiful staff, quick service, gorgeous fixtures and convenient location. The ambiance gives me Southern California vibes with the decor, fixtures, and videos on the screen. The only thing that makes it feel like you're in Hawaii is the painted colorful lei mural on the wall. A lovely addition to da Cali vibes. My appointment that day was for a laser treatment in a small area. It was my first time, and it didn't help that one of my girlfriends warned me that it was gonna be super painful. It scared me! But I actually learned it's not painful here at all. At LaserAway, they use a cold air tool simultaneously with the laser so it's virtually painless. It took about ten minutes. I'm small so the area was quite tiny and then I was all pau! The staff was super friendly! I met Tani, Jared, the VP and the nurse, Sarah. I hope I remembered these names correctly! They were so sweet and made me feel really comfortable. I'd recommend it for everyone! read more

Honestly, if we could leave a zero star review, we would. There have been so many mishaps that have occurred over the last year. I've tried to complete a prepaid laser package. The high staff turnover is a telltale sign that this business lacks professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy. There seems to be no communication between corporate and the local laseraway in Honolulu which makes it difficult to contact Voice prompts send you to corporate who tries to be helpful only to find out that corporate does not communicate with the local laseraway. So why have a phone system that forwards to corporate? It makes no sense. On top of that, treatments are always borderline. There is always a long wait, and many rescheduling, due to staff shortage, or technical problems with the machine. This is such a hardship on those who have a busy schedule, like ourselves. And then, when you try to reschedule, another appointment is not available for another 6 to 8 weeks. Totally unacceptable Staff are uncaring. And often misleading. There is no communication between the staff and local management as well. When staff states something and another staff states another, and there is no accountability for what promises they make. This is a complete waste of time and I will be definitely forwarding my concerns to the Better Business Bureau as well as local avenues. Caution. Be prepared for long. Wait times, long reschedules and highly unprofessional staff. Immensely disappointed and will definitely not be coming back again. Bad customer service from receptionists. The nurses who actually do the work are very sweet and caring. My review is solely in regard to their receptionist staffs (except for one lady) who are stuck up (but only one was nice: the tall, local, chubby lady with wavy hair). They have no courtesy to their customers. When you come in they're busy talking to each other, wouldn't greet you 'til you come up to their receptionist area to check in. Plus won't thank you for setting up an appointment. When you ask them questions they seem annoyed that you're asking them questions. Will only finish my session and will go somewhere else. I purchased the laser hair removal package for full legs, underarms and full brazilian. I waited until the end of my treatment to write this review (for those who don't know, a full treatment is about 8 sessions, spaced 6-8 weeks apart, for a total of about 10 months to complete). I am very happy with my results! (Just to compare, I am a Caucasian female with somewhat thick/dark leg/body hair (results do vary depending on body hair types)). After the end of my treatments, I took a vacation to Florida and didn't have to shave the whole time, it was ah-maz-ing! I am most satisfied with my bikini area - I used to hate shaving my bikini line - I always ended up with razor burn and ingrown hairs, it was always unpleasant and most of the time, I opted to wear shorts over my swimsuits instead of dealing with that area - but not this time! I had a hairless bikini line without having to do anything. I still have some slight hair growth on my legs - but it's turned into a very fine, light hair - not the thick dark hair that I was used to and the regrowth is extremely slow. I also struggled with razor burn on my lower shins...not anymore. If I do shave my legs, it's now once every other month or so. And I purchased a maintenance package to continue laser hair removal every couple of months. They are located at Ala Moana shopping center, lower level - directly next to Starbucks and the new Foodland. I never have problems finding parking, except maybe during the holidays. Their office is very cute and clean, and the front desk staff has always been warm and welcoming to me. They always ask me how my treatments were after I'm finished and make scheduling a breeze. Now for the actual treatments. I've had several different RN's perform my treatments over the course of my laser removal journey and every nurse tech has been EXTREMELY professional and nice. Let me tell you, if you are going to get a full brazilian like me, be prepared to bare all! Other than my husband and OB - no one has seen more than these nurse techs lol! But they make you feel so comfortable and not awkward at all! I was sooo nervous at my first appointment, not sure what to expect, but my fears were immediately eased. They have all been so wonderful! As far as pain goes, I didn't experience much discomfort. Their lasers come equipped with a cooling hose that blasts cold air the same time as the laser so it makes it so you don't feel much (except cold air). The only time I did feel something was towards the bottom of my shins and by my ankles - but that's where my hair has always been the thickest and hardest to shave. That same area has always been super susceptible to razor burn and painful ingrowns so I wasn't surprised when I felt some discomfort there, but it's quick and stops hurting the instant the laser is gone. It feels like someone is snapping you with a small rubber band - quick snap and gone. I would rate it a 4/10 on the pain scale. My upper thighs and bikini area barely hurt at all. I would get all of my areas done at the same time so my treatments usually ran 30-45 minutes. The only down-side I experienced (which to me, was not enough to warrant removing a star), was that appointments did usually run late, especially in the beginning months of my treatments (not so much now, I feel like they've gotten better at scheduling/double booking). I quickly adjusted and just scheduled myself 1.5 hours to be at their office each time and bring my Kindle with me to read lol. Once my laser treatment package is done with them, I'm never coming back. Waste of my time and money. They're literally always behind schedule. My last 3 appointments have consistently been late. I have had such an amazing experience here after three sessions so far, I can't even begin to recommend them enough! From their front desk staff to the reminders of my treatment, the prompt treatment that is quick and professional, to the cleanliness and charm that this place has, I'm over the moon, and of course, my hair removal results are fabulous! Within one treatment I was already seeing massive improvements and again, with the staff, especially Sarah, the RN who did my last two treatments, maintain professionalism and true care, I'm obviously coming back not just because I have more treatments but because I genuinely like being here! The treatments are not as painless as perhaps advertised, or maybe I have a low pain threshold I guess the important thing is that they work and I have been satisfied with the results! Either way the staff goes above and beyond to deliver great care. The location is accessible and has plenty of parking which is rare for Honolulu. It's clean and bright inside. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I particularly enjoy when nurse Caitlin is taking care of me as she has funny stories she tells during the most unpleasant part of the procedures to distract you.
