Absolutely thrilled with my results from Dr. Foo! I can't overstate how happy I am with the results of my dermal fillers from Dr. Foo. I've always had deep-set eyes, and as I've gotten older, the hollowness under them became more noticeable. I was nervous about injections near the eye area, but Dr. Foo explained everything clearly and reassured me that the treatment would focus on the mid-face area instead. The results were amazing--my features look balanced, and the under-eye hollowness is dramatically reduced while still looking completely natural. I also had lip injections, which I was initially hesitant about because I've seen so many examples of lips that look unnatural or distracting. As someone who professionally examines mouths all day, I was very aware of what I didn't want. Dr. Foo took the time to educate me about the proper amount, type, and placement of fillers to maintain natural movement and proportion. Initially, I was a bit nervous and apprehensive since I had never done any type of treatment on my face or body before. I have microbladed brows from 2017 when the fad was really in. Although I like the shape of my brows at the time (and still do), I think my preference has changed. I now prefer a more natural look with a less pronounced arch/tail because I think it looks more youthful. Please keep in mind this review is about the Picosure laser, not the Picoway laser. I recently learned about the Picosure laser and I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to get it done. After doing some research, I called a different dermatology office/med spa (that I will not disclose) that was charging ~$150 just for the consultation---all for something I wasn't entirely sure about getting in the first place. The free consultation and the good reviews is what led me to make an appointment with Aloha Aesthetics. (I think the free consultation might be a limited time offer). The Aloha Aesthetics office's lobby is located in Doctors of Waikiki. They validate parking for 1 hour in the Sheraton Princess Ka'iulani's lot. Consultation/Procedure: Ayaka and Dr. Foo were very knowledgeable on the Picosure laser, answered all of my questions, and were really patient. They seemed very genuine and also were very clear about the expectations that comes with the laser. I appreciated that they emphasized realistic expectations multiple times. According to Dr. Foo, the Picosure laser usually requires multiple sessions that are 3 months apart. They sell the treatment in different packages, such as one treatment, a bundle of 3, and a bundle of 5. I felt comfortable getting the treatment done the same day as my consultation. They use numbing on my brows and the laser feels like little rubber band snaps. It felt similar to laser hair removal. Overall, the procedure was relatively quick. Immediately Post-procedure: After the procedure, my brows were significantly lighter. Dr. Foo says the initial whiteness is called "frosting"; after googling pictures of frosting, I don't think it was that. He said the color will get darker and will fade after 3 weeks. A minimal part of my brow hair did get bleached (but not the whole strand) from the laser. It sounds scarier than it actually is--it honestly kind of looks like I put a tiny bit of q-tip fuzz on my brows and can be fixed with a makeup brow tint. Ayaka said that this is normal and the hair will naturally fall out and my normal brow color will come back. It doesn't really bother me because they told me this expectation before the procedure. Because it takes a while for the pigment to fade, I probably won't see true results till 3 months-post-laser. I am looking forward to seeing how the brows pigment will fade! Just got my first session of the Picosure Pro here after my initial consultation a couple months ago! Initial consulation: Ayaka was very knowledgeable on the treatments and recommendations for my skin and skin goals. Dr. Foo came in after, confirmed the treatments and elaborated further. I decided to come in for my actual Picosure Pro treatment a couple months later but during my initial consultation I had about 3 pimples on my face. The hormonal acne ones where it was deep under my skin, big, and painful. They suggested getting the acne shots which I did not know even existed! I wish I had known because these helps get rid of those stubborn acne which usually takes months to go away but after the shots, they went a way in 3-5 days. Picosure Pro: They put on numbing cream so the procedure wouldn't be as painful. You leave it on for about 20 mins and the procedure itself is about 20 mins. (Thank goodness for the numbing cream!) Ayaka did my procedure and was very attentive and communicative throughout. She would ask me if the areas targeted during the session were my sensitive/painful spots and even went over the areas of my concern more thoroughly. I had a picosure procedure done at another dermatologist office before and there was absolutely not communication. I just remember wishing that it was over so I really appreciated the communication throughout. For years I had been really insecure about how drastically developing lupus had changed my lips. I'm not against the beauty of aging, but the constant sun rash above my lip, before getting properly diagnosed, went on for years, leaving me with scarred skin that went into my lips, causing an uneven lip line, and a smaller upper lip. I hated my lips, and what lupus did to them, it was my one insecurity, I felt like it aged me and left me with a snarl. On my first visit I went in for a lip flip, and was considering getting the 11 lines fixed, but wasn't too concerned about wrinkles. When the doctor asked if I ever get migraines as a result from lupus, and then informed me that it might reduce my migraines, I was in it to win it, I rarely went a day without a migraine at that point! I have since gone from chronic migraines, to only having one in 6 weeks. The lip flip was step one in getting my lips back, and I love the results! Snarl is gone, my gums look better, and I love my smile again. Pricing is affordable, and worth it! I ended up going in again, for filler, once my other doctor informed me that it was okay, as long as I didn't get it done during a lupus flare up. I'm so happy with the results, and I had no issues whatsoever. I have my lips back, and then some! I love the team, they were so understanding of my situation, and caring throughout, they treat you as if you are family, while accompanying to your individual needs.
