I purchased a really good deal for the underarms promoted on their instagram page back in May which was 3 sessions for under $300 ( tax included) but I only had the chance today to do my first session today. I'm giving 5 stars to the staff. The lovely receptionist (apologies, i didn't get her name) was very friendly and accommodating. She's also informative when I called prior to ask for parking. I have been going to Q Laser Center for a few years now and love the results received by their services. I was tired of shaving and decided to look into laser treatment. At first I was a little scared because the thought of being lasers just freaked me out, but I figured if it worked I could get rid of my razor. Plus I thought it must cost a lot. I bought a Groupon for getting laser treatment done and a Medium area of my body. Rachelle, the woman who worked as the receptionist is always so pleasant and really cool to talk to. If you have any questions about what this procedure entails, you can always ask her since she has been with this company for over or about 20 years. She's done the procedures as well so she is very knowledgeable! They are also now located in their new location at the Kukui Plaza. There is ample structure parking under the building, just don't forget your ticket because they validate. If you have never done this before, it may take some time getting use to the shock or zap feeling when it's being done, but well worth it. In some areas depending on the area that you are having laser treatment done, can be very sensitive, so if you are feeling uncomfortable just let them know. I thought of it this way, no pain no gain! Just as a heads up, it'll take more than one session to start noticing the lesson in the hair. So you should go for several sessions because once won't be enough to see or notice any change. The are will most definitely get smoother as well since you won't have to shave as much. Follow up Appointments after having a session done is about 6 weeks. I would highly recommend trying them out! This should have been written ages ago but I never got around to it. A co-worker had been raving about being hair less because of Q Laser and I was tired of shaving so I thought "why not"? She is dark with dark thick hair and swears she is completely hair free now. I am fair with light hair. I bought a package of treatments - not a special just a regular package full leg, etc. First couple of treatments were fine, then i went in and had a new lady who burned the hell out of my poor legs :( she also want to do my full bikini although I was not into that, just the sides and edges but she was pushy as hell. I ended up with water blisters and it was just terrible. I had to go to my dermatologist for treatment. Needless to say I never even went back for the remaining treatments, I should have asked for my money back :( and I still have plenty of hair too! read more

In the past 9-10 months I've had 4 facials and this one was the best. I used a Groupon for the anti acne facial. Mary is wonderful! She asked me questions about my skin and contoured my treatment around that information. She worked on a collection of pimples I had on my upper left cheek. After the extraction process she treated the area with some antibacterial cream and that helped finish them off. I've had laser hair removal for my underarms done here. I started almost 8 years ago & have been coming back annually for maintenance. When I first started, Q laser seemed to be the place to go for hair removal. It was busy, but they still had great service. Now, it's totally different. I should've wrote a review from back then to show how much has changed. At my first session, it was recommended that I would need 6-7 treatments (darn those dark hairs!). And, to buy a couple more for maintenance. They had good deals around Christmas time. So, in total, I had purchased 10. After my 7th session, i was happy with my results & decided to start coming annually. The 8th & 9th session were ok. Service over the years have been "meh...". But, my 10th session was terrible! The person I spoke to to schedule my appt might have been a new employee or I just never came across this one. She sounded younger & just plain rude. She rushed me throughout the entire conversation. They must've been busy when I called, I guess? Day of my appt, I get a call from the same lady. She sounds nicer now & informs me of a cancellation & that I can come in sooner. Great! Just what I wanted. Couple hours or so before my new appt time, I get another call. They let me know they had more cancellations and can again take me even sooner if I wanted. I wondered why they had that many cancellations in 1 day. When I arrived, that same young lady is at it again, rushing me to sign the form & then goes about her business. I go to the back with someone I haven't seen before. (I know, I suck at remembering names) She starts icing me up to numb my underarms. Not even 10 seconds later she starts lasering away! Wth! Like, my skin isn't even close to being numb yet! I inform her, she puts the ice back again... kept it on for 5 secs, then takes it off & continues with the laser. I informed her again, by now, you could tell she was getting irritated & she starts pushing the ice pack down on my underarms. During my past 9 sessions, they kept the ice pack on for at least 30-45 seconds! Such a terrible, terrible experience. The whole session was rushed. I didn't understand why, considering they had cancellations & I came in earlier. As I was checking out, both ladies were very pushy on buying more treatments. They weren't into Groupon purchases, rather would have me purchasing from them directly. Uh, no thanks. I'm glad that was my last paid session. A lot has changed with this company in recent years. I don't plan on coming back for maintenance. I'm sure my un-numb underarms will be very thankful lol. read more

I fell victim to the worst customer experience ever at Q Laser. I mean, excruciatingly bad. Embarrassingly bad. Just baaad. So, I bought a Groupon for 3 visits. Even though I shouldn't, I always expect sub-par service with a Groupon, so I'm prepared for that. The 1st one was great. I had a nice and proficient tech who I liked a lot. Things started to turn south during the 2nd visit. The tech was not so proficient. She actually burned me, tried to sell me a $60 burn cream and then shoved a waiver my face that probably said I cldnt sue them for burning me. That brings me to the 3rd appt, which never actually happened. Their validation lot was full, so I parked at a nearby meter and arrived on time for my 12:15 appt only find a locked door with a sign saying they're closed until 1 pm. I listened to my confirmation vmail to double check that I didn't mix up the day or time. Nope. So I called and left a vmail at 12:20 telling them I was going to hang around Chinatown until they returned because I had driven down from the N. Shore for this appt and didn't understand why no one was there. I wandered around and kept checking back (still no one) and putting more money in my meter. Finally, at 12:55 pm, I see someone at the front desk who unlocks the door and asks if I'm there for my 1 pm. No, I had a 12:15 I told her, expecting her to apologize profusely. Instead, she tries to turn it around on me, shooting back that the techs don't take lunch until 12:30. I assure her I was there at 12:15 pm and tell her she can chck the vmail because I left a message at 12:20. At this point, I'm in total disbelief that she's trying make it sound like I'm lying, rather than of taking ownership of the fact that they scooted out early for lunch. Unbelievable. She shrugs as if she could care less and goes on to tell me they can't get me in until 2:30 pm or the next day. I drove an hour from the N. Shore and probably spent $20 on gas for this un-appointment and they're not even trying to squeeze me in? I'm fuming. This is not the only laser business in town, and I can assure you it's far from the best. Fair warning to others - be smarter than I was and skip Q Laser if you liked to be treated with decency (and not burnt). read more

I've had different treatments from Mary at Q Laser and appreciate her professionalism, thoroughness and knowledge. She's a no nonsense type and let's you know exactly what to expect. She educates you to the treatment and all with a warm and personable manner. She was associated with Q Laser in the early stages of start up and has over 20 years experience in the industry. BEWARE! that the laser technicians are not either trained or informed properly. I'm in the industry and colleagues have warned me that Q Laser was notorious for burning clients. I'm going Honolulu Med Spa. Don't shop for bargains ladies this is your body and I am heeding warning your way. I have what looks like a cig burn on my labia from the tip of the laser apparatus. This was my second time and was told by the spa it's normal. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. IF I DIDN'T HAVE THIS REACTION THE FIRST TIME, SECOND TIME AROUND THE TECHNICIAN USED TOO HIGH OF JOULES AND HELD IT THERE. IT WAS VERY PAINFUL. Then I was told the owner would contact me obviously burning clients in not that big of a deal to them and never heard back. Prob dealing with mal practice suits. The short lesson for Q Laser Center: if you can't fulfill a marketing promotion, don't bother having one. I received a free 30-min facial gift certificate, so I suppose I can't complain too much. But considering it was the hands-down worst facial I've ever had, I'd have been pissed if I spent real money on it. Let's start with the fact they called and canceled my original appointment a day in advance. Not a big deal on its own, but just a preview of the sum of the experience. When I finally arrived for my rescheduled appointment, it was disappointment from the get-go. I was left waiting, with attitude and not so much as a courteous smile, in the lobby. When the esthetician finally took me back to the room, I waited some more while she got the room set up. I was fighting the urge to roll my eyes at the unpreparedness, but decided to let it go. I could save that irritation, it turns out, for the facial itself. A sloppy, goopy, unprofessional application that got oiliness in my hair and gritty pieces of sediment in my teeth. (Somehow I don't think it's a coincidence that no other esthetician has ever slathered down my lips with facial cream.) I suffered through 15 unpleasant minutes of holding my breath, wondering if this woman actually had any experience, waiting for the moment that would never actually materialize: a relaxing experience. It was at that moment she announced that she was done. What a second--hold the phones, what happened to a half-hour? You mean it took me longer to find parking than it did for this mangled excuse for a facial? Then, she had the nerve to try to sell me products in the lobby. Had I received something resembling quality throughout this whole experience, maybe I would have considered. Instead, I did something for the first--and hopefully last--time in my life: I left without giving a tip. After all, I'd already wasted my time, gas and lunch hour. I've been here 3 times now to do my Brazilian treatment. I absolutely love this place. Mary is super sweet and so knowledgeable of your skin. She made me feel so comfortable. You know how treatments like this can be uncomfortable and awkward. But Mary makes you feel right at home. I'm going to be honest, first time I went with someone else it kind of hurt some areas, but dealt with it. My second and third time I did my treatment with Mary and is was Aaaaawwwmaaazing! I have been a longtime customer of Q Laser and received multiple laser treatments from here previously. I am sad to say that this business has really gone downhill. The majority of their great reviews are from several years ago. Four weeks after one of my most recent visits in 2013, I contracted molluscum contagiosum. This is a wart-like, highly contagious viral skin infection caused by contact with infected surfaces. Any of the towels, ice packs and counter/table surfaces that everyone contacts during a visit likely spread this. Q Laser tried to tell me that I couldn't possibly have gotten it from them since their cleaning policies are excellent. Well, what your workers are doing might be very different that whatever written policy is. And the fact that they are denying this problem just means they aren't going to take any steps to fix their hygiene issues. Their attempts to blame me were ridiculous and offensive, since NOTHING else came into contact with that area. I had a full bikini area done, and the disgusting growths were exactly all along where I had hair removed. Nothing else touched me in that area, especially the anal region of the full-bikini area removal where the outbreak of growths was the most severe. This painful and humiliating ordeal was made even worse by the contempt I received from Q Laser. First, they told me it was a rash that should subside. After my diagnosis, they refused to apologize or even entertain the possibility that they were at fault. They offered one puny free treatment that wasn't even close to the cost of the copay I had to fork out to my OB-GYN to get the infection treated. They insultingly implied I was at fault for this infection. They basically didn't give a damn about me, what I thought about them, or even my business. If they treated a long-time customer like this, imagine how they treat new customers. I am not alone in my flight from this business, as they have recently resorted to offering Groupons to try and drum up new customers who don't know how bad they are. They were a great business before, but they aren't nowadays. No matter how cheap the treatments, I won't be coming here anymore, and neither should you. Don't risk burns (that other reviewers mentioned) and infectious skin diseases just to save a buck. read more

Usually I measure a business on 3 aspects Value Return And experience. Q laser nailed all of them I bought a huge package of treatments at a discount ( during thanks giving they give 1/2 off the price they do other promotions tru the year so I will keep checking in with them) so the value was basically twice as good in my opinion. The return. Let's put it this way, hair treatment isn't fun. You won't be comfortable and it might hurt at times. Then again it's not a massage or a facial, so pain is most likely a part of it. I was told that it will take 8-10 treatments to see result, I am at my 3rd session and my hair is almost completely gone at some areas. Wow. So yes great return. Experience. I was lucky to work with Stephany I am not taking away from the rest of the crew since my technician say they are all quite amazing , so I guess they are ) She is very attentive, incredibly knowledgeable , and she has many years under her belt as a tech. She makes my experience here to be a solid 5 stars. Facility is clean. Modern. And well designed. I am very comfortable walking around and smelling good scents and be greeted by nice people. Three words: I LOVE QLASER!!! I came here as a recommendation from my coworker and I have been very satisfied with the services I received. I am very particular when it comes to my beauty maintenance so anyone who really knows me knows that when I say something is good, it really is. I like the fact that I was able to get a an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. I also liked the fact that parking is nearby (mark's garage or Kukui plaza building) and I was seen promptly. I was also impressed that they were aware of my history from their computer data, which means I didn't have to explain the same old information over again when I returned. The staff members that serviced me for my hair removal were awesome. They were very knowledgable and made me feel comfortable. I also loved the good tips I got, for example using Phyto for dark spots. I was skeptical about the product at first, but the results have been amazing in a short period of time! Im not sure exactly everything that was done to my face, but the creams felt and smelled nice and my face felt more "plump" after the treatments. I was out at a bar that night and was told I look 27 (Im 34). I did a bikini laser. Chris usually helps me at the front desk along with Elizabeth (laser pro). They use the CoolGlide on me and the results have been pretty good. I've completed 5 treatments so far and have just a layer of really fine hair in more concentrated areas. As far as the results go, it really depends what you're looking for. The finer and lighter your hair is, the less the laser will zap it because it is attracted by pigmentation. I don't believe there is such a thing as 100% removal so beware of places that promise that. Q Laser has been my second venue for laser treatment (first being at a doctor's office), and they are pretty thorough. I also asked for a prescription strength topical numbing agent because my tolerance to pain is very low. I think I'm going to purchase 2 more treatments or so to upkeep and maintain over the next year or so. My underarms were completed by a doctor about 7 years ago and a few hairs started growing back (not enough to shave) just last year. I tried putting off maintenance but noticed that more started growing this year (now I have to shave). Learning lesson: as soon as you think you need maintenance, make an appointment! Make sure to tip your laser pro attendant! =) They also do monthly specials so check theirwebsite. Lastly, refer a friend and get a discount! I love, love, love Q-laser! Elizabeth is the sweetest, most professional, caring, sensitive tech/nurse I have ever met in my life. I've been coming here for about 2 years or so. Now, I'm going for the tattoo removal. Raleigh does my removal treatments, and he's super fast at it! It's the most unbearable pain I've ever felt in my life, but I would ONLY go to Q-laser, no one else. I feel so comfortable everytime I come in. I think they're reasonable compared to other places in Honolulu. Of course you have to schedule weeks in advance, it's because they're busy and popular! If I had my way I would tell all of my friends in Palm Beach, Florida, to make the trip out here just to see Dr. Yew and Erica. This place is awesome. Relatively cheap laser hair removal treatments, sweet technicians, and a super responsive staff (especially since I keep changing my treatment dates on them due to a fluxuating work schedule). My first time going kept getting pushed - they had trouble with the laser and then had trouble getting the technicians to the appointments... but for the past 3 months they have been just top notch. I had an issue where due to either a misunderstanding or a miscommunication I received a treatment that did not 'take' (no hair shedding post treatment) and the staff were quick to make things right. SERVICE: Laser Hair Removal I've only had good experiences at Q Laser Center. I have used Elizabeth and Noreen in the past. I did use another woman, but I don't remember her name. I have had treatments back in 2008ish. Today, I went to a woman named Anita. She's very nice and friendly. The treatment can be sore at times. There are follicles that hurt more than others and I'm wondering if it is the ones that have like 2 hairs in them. In the past, they forgot to add me to their calendar and I had to reschedule my appointment. They did give me a $25 off card. Other than this, it's smooth sailing. I would recommend this place for laser hair removal. read more
