I was a customer of Yosef, the red light aesthetician at Serenity Spa yesterday Dec. 28, 2025, for facial promo that I found on Facebook worth $69.99. I was sold products and LED infrared device after I said no the first time, then he came back to give me a hard sales pitch that looks too good to refuse.  Skin care Products with refills and LED infrared device with 6 facials for 18 month financing worth $2500. I left the spa feeling pressured to buy into products and services that were overpriced and not affordable for middle class people in Hawaii. Then, I got a call from Queens hospital today that I will be getting a procedure/surgery and scheduled me for next month. So I returned today, 1 day after I purchased the whole package anticipating my medical cost next month, to return the device and products that are still in their original packaging and unopened. Yosef told me today and said I cannot return it anymore and it will affect my credit. He did not explain to me when I signed on the IPAD that I cannot return this device nor the products. It is my first time at Serenity Spa and my first time buying spa products. I was not informed of the consequences of signing up for this package, nor the consequence that it will affect my credit score. It was not explained to me clearly that the billing for care Credit will be in a credit card. I do not want another credit card. He said don't worry because it will only be a soft pull. I just found out by email that there was a hard inquiry on my credit. I attempted to return the unused LED device and unopened products and requested for refund considering it is only 1 day since I signed up for it. But the female aesthetician said they have a no return policy and rudely told me that I should have read everything before signing. I did not see their no refund policy sign at the lobby because I was only made to put my signature on an IPAD inside the treatment room during the sales. The lady who did my facial was okay but over-all, I did not have a good experience with the sales strategy of this business and felt misled into buying things to make it appear like I got a good deal only to realize later that I got ripped off and never should have gone in the first place. read more

Serenity Spa has been our go to place for relaxation paired with professionalism and excellent customer service. We have been getting our facials here for over a year and we are glad we found this place. Shaun (manager) is very welcoming and makes us feel at home. He even remembers my name when i go to get my product refills or if i have any issues with my apparatus. Chloe, Ray, Kayla and Dianna do our facials and they do the best job to make us feel comfortable and we always leave feeling ralaxed. I highly recommend Serenity Spa if you are looking for a place to get a facial. We just recently tried the Apollo which is a sauna with infrared lights and it was an awesome experience! In February 2026, I went to Serenity Spa after seeing an advertisement on social media for a $69 facial. After the facial, I was taken into another room where staff showed me photos of my skin and told me it was extremely damaged and essentially "pre-cancerous." They strongly pressured me into purchasing the Turbo X by IVAINCU, described as a "medical-grade" LED device that supposedly would dramatically improve my skin with just 5-10 minutes of use, three times per week. At the time, I had recently seen a dermatologist who was testing a mole on my body, so their scare tactics worked on me emotionally. (The mole later tested negative.) Initially, they tried to sell me the device for approximately $150 per month for two years. I declined. Then they suddenly "found" another financing option for $25 per month for one year, which I unfortunately agreed to. After using the device consistently for two months -- often even more than recommended, sometimes 2-3 times per day -- I saw absolutely no improvement. When I attempted to return the products and resolve the issue, Serenity Spa became nearly impossible to contact. They did not answer phone calls and only responded to my email after I disputed the charge with my credit company. Once I filed the dispute, they claimed they could no longer communicate with me directly. After researching further, I discovered numerous one-star Yelp reviews describing experiences very similar to mine. I honestly cannot believe this business continues operating this way. Customers should also be aware that they are asked to sign financing agreements through Synchrony/CareCredit. Because Synchrony is a well-known financial institution used by companies like Sam's Club, I believed the financing was legitimate and safe. I am extremely disappointed that CareCredit and Synchrony continue partnering with businesses engaging in these types of high-pressure sales tactics. I strongly caution others to research thoroughly before agreeing to any expensive treatments, products, or financing agreements with Serenity Spa. read more

The staff was friendly, but of the six appointments I had at this spa, they were 10-20 min. late half the time and I had to wait in the hallway since no one was in the office yet. I didn't expect miracles and didn't see much effect after all my treatments, but I did expect a relaxing experience and I felt that my time and money would be better spent somewhere else. I would have left things at that, but I am sharing my frustration with the unprofessional service and lack of accountability at Serenity Spa regarding the cancellation of my payment plan, which I was told I could cancel at any time. I have been attempting to cancel this plan since February 2026. Despite multiple follow-ups, the process has been delayed for several reasons, including being provided with the wrong contact email by staff. When I finally received a response in April, the records of my treatments were inaccurate, listing sessions on dates I did not attend. After being given a choice to continue treatments or receive a refund, then electing for the refund and requesting that the matter be resolved before the next billing cycle, I have received nothing but repetitive, automated-style responses stating the matter is "under review." Despite my multiple attempts to discuss this matter with management, there has been no action taken and no communication provided. It has now been over a month of silence and inefficiency. I'm disappointed in the conduct of the office staff and the management's failure to address this simple request. I would not recommend this spa due to their poor communication and disregard for customer satisfaction. read more

What a scam this company is. Answered an ad with a special of $69 for a facial - thought it would be a nice gift for me and my sister - went in and had the facials, then we were led to a small room where a spanish speaking lady went over their different programs and pricing - turned down everything said we rarely got facials so not interested and she kept pushing and pushing, lowering price and I kept saying we were only paying for the 2 specials and she then said to sign a receipt that we had gotten the service. Next thing I know I'm getting a notice from US Bank that I now had a loan with them for 3k!!! this was to get the services at this spa!!! I have called US Bank more than once only getting the run around. Sadly the amount I am now being charged is almost 2k for the services we got, yet we were answering a special for $69 so this is misleading and bad company to push this loan onto me. read more

I booked a promotional $70 facial that ended up feeling like just a basic treatment - although I wasn't sure what to expect. The first red flag was the pre-facial consultation that gives you a close up picture of your damaged skin. After the basic treatment, the "serenity" is broken by a hard sell of expensive facial and treatment products packages. And exactly like the other reviews said, they trick you into pulling a line of credit, offering multiple payment forms, all after repeatedly saying no. I literally told the technician that he's making me feel pressured and uncomfortable. His reply - put on your clothes and head to the reception desk. I walked out of the office with white crap all over my face and didn't even care because I just wanted to get out of the hell hole. Don't put yourself through this. I did the $69 deal, and I should have known something was up when they called and texted me six times to confirm. Their continuous follow ups to confirm my appointment felt intrusive. I was stupid enough to buy the red light wand that they sold me after my appointment, not realizing I was signing up for a credit card that I do not want. When I got home I received an email, saying that there was a 'hard inquiry,' on my credit report filed today from Synchrony Bank. I was shocked as hard inquiries negatively impact your score, and I do not bank with them. I then realized that when buying the wand, I was buying a credit card I do not want from Synchrony Bank. And that the bank filed a 'hard inquiry,' the same day I bought the wand - as if I had missed a payment. Also, the credit card was framed to me as something helpful when buying a medical device, not a low rated credit card from a predatory and shady company that has a lawsuit filed against them. This is a credit card scheme in the guise of a facial. I am immediately canceling all of my future facials, and since I cannot return the device am paying it off as soon as possible. read more

The manager, who also claims to be the "skin specialist" literally scammed me until I threatened to call the police for a transaction I DID NOT AUTHORIZE! She tried to sell me the Avologi ENEO Totale Red & Infrared Light Therapy Facial Device. Because this device is outrageously priced at 12k$ I wanted to find info online about it and talk it over with my spouse. I specifically told her I wanted to talk with my husband before deciding AND I wanted knowledge of the warranty. She agreed and then said "let me REGISTER it and then I can get the warranty for you" what she meant was " I'm going to open up an account for you with CARECREDIT" I will admit I was distracted on the phone trying to get info about this product and she took advantage of that. She had me fill out general info on her iPad and with that she charged me 3100.00 her special price without me verbally giving her permission to do so. Its a scam!! I had my faced analyzed before the facial. Had my facial done and was taken the another room to discuss the results of the analysis. I felt like I was with a car salesman. She tried to sell me a plan for facials up to 2 years. It was presented as $99 for 2 years. She said it was like few money. She asked me to put in some info on an ipad. Then she walked out because she was going to write it all down for me. I asked her why it was asking to check me credit. Then she casually mentioned that it was $99 a month and payment was going to be made with their credit card. After declining she comes back with offering me her discount. $69 per month. After still declining she takes the red light therapy machine (which she said would come with my plan) and leaves the room. Comes back with the machine and it has some kind of cream on it. She said I needed to see the results. So she starts using the machine on one side of my face. When they used red light therapy during the facial, the machine made a noise and it was pretty warm. The machine she was using was silent and not warm at all. I asked why the difference in machines and she explains there's different kind of machines. I asked what the cream was and she said it was just moisturizer. She makes me look at the results which looked like it made a huge difference. So I asked how the machine works and she explains how we lose collagen and how red light therapy can help with that. So I asked if the collagen was restored that quickly. She didn't really answer my question. Ended up saying no again. Never got the plan written down. Even though she told me several times that she was leaving the room to write it down. And of course, the results weren't permanent. Probably plumping cream? Its a scam!! read more

I responded to an ad for a facial for $69.99. (Red light therapy). Upon my arrival, the girl that greeted me handed me an ipad to complete a questionnaire. She then managed to disappear for at least 15 min. There were several girls that came in and out, and I sat there waiting to see who was going to take me back for my facial. Finally, I was taken into a room and introduced to the girl that would be doing my facial, very nice girl by the way. Then I was told that I could keep my clothes on. There was no gown or anything given to me to change into for a proper facial. I then laid on the bed and waited for at least 10 minutes before the girl came in. She proceeded to do a cleanse and exfoliation of my face, and she did do the light therapy, which was very nice upon finishing. I was asked to go into the lobby. Once again no one there to greet me I could hear the ladies speaking in the staff room. I was then taken into the room to discuss the analysis of my face. I was given an explanation of what was going on with my face and was given information on a red light wand that I could purchase through them at $149 a month for 24 months... Sounds kind of crazy when you could find the red light on Amazon for at least $39-$69. Upon my telling the young lady that I was not interested in purchasing the equipment she basically said OK it's your face. I'll check you out if you're ready I proceeded to say yes thank you And left. read more

Not only was the facial subpar, but the badgering and insults that the "consultant" who did not identify herself would cause anyone to be upset. Plus they signed me up via an iPad for a credit card and a now fee of $2600. There was no writted consent, paperwork, or explanation of what this "service" was, except that "it's a deal". When I received a notification from my bank the people at the front desk a man told me it was too late, and he has the "same service and they do not know what they are talking about" as if a credit institution would inform us of trustworthy actions taken against our credit as consumers?!? They were pushy, rude, and DID NOT cancel the credit card, and lied to me as to what they were taking the information for (to sign me up). NOR did the credit comany do much to help the situation. Not only was my call for action not returned by this company I was sent a text to email as the manager is "on vacation". I will no longer be speaking to anyone from this business and have filed several complaints with the FTC, RICO, OPCP, and have hired an attorney to look into this "business" for me. read more
