Lunch at their Cafe after a massage
    Jolene L.

We were celebrating a birthday and went to Dada for a facial, a massage, and lunch. It is very easy to navigate their website and schedule an appointment. The system also sends you reminder text messages before your appointment. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted and checked in. There's seating available near the hair salon area as we waited for our specialists. Once escorted into the room, the lights are dimmed and calming music invites you to relax. The massage table is already warm and the specialist asks your pressure preference. I picked the 60 minute relaxation massage. I don't remember her name but she was very good and I enjoyed my massage. From what I recall (because I fell asleep), she massaged with oil in quadrants. Starting with my left foot and worked up my leg, then she followed with my right foot and up that leg. A few minutes later she worked on my left hand and worked up my arm, followed by the right hand and arm. My favorite was her massaging my neck and shoulders, that was much needed! When my 60 minutes ended, she gently awakened me and provided a warm towel to wipe off the massage oil before redressing. She then met me in the waiting area and provided me with a cup of warm water. After a relaxing facial and massage, we went to the Cafe for lunch. They have a nice variety of food options and even serve wine by the bottle. Parking validation is $10 in the Ala Moana hotel. This was a nice birthday treat and glad we experienced this.

I went in for a haircut and highlights, and Yancarlos did an amazing job! I'll definitely be back for the head treatment and a touch up.

Paige is super awesome & sweet! My momma goes in every 2 weeks for a Greg touch up and she does such a great job! I can't wait to go in for my balayage! Standby for my review on that!

I was in desperate need of a haircut after not having one for TWO YEARS! Today was the day and I didn't have an appointment so I called everywhere and no one could fit me in the time frame I needed until I called Dada. They were also booked except they had an assistant who was available and was able to fit me in. Shelby Johansen was amazing! Such a sweetheart, easygoing and she took her time and made sure that I was satisfied with my haircut. She even styled it for me because I mentioned I had a special occasion later that day! Definitely call Dada and ask for Shelby the next time you need a haircut!

Freshly baked scones and sticky bun ..yum. Very nice of employee who explained the pastries to me. Right out of the oven. I passed on the German cake for now....Some people are already drinking coffee and having a sandwich and ordering breakfast. Always good pastries and ono food. Check them out.

YALL CAMILLE ATE! my hair looks so much healthier after she worked her magic. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she took it to the next level, way better than I expected! I'm from the bay area but I'll definitely be back to see her when I'm in honolulu again. She's not only skilled but also fun to talk to and has a great personality. I 100% trust her to do my hair so you should too!

Me time... What do you do for self care? It can be anything from a haircut, facial, massage to reflexology...literally everything from head to toes and yes they do that here and insanely SO much more. Located on the third floor of the Ala Moana Hotel booking any service is the easiest thing which what made me decide on giving it a try, all done online which is super easy https://www.dadahawaii.com/ or follow them on Instagram @dadahawaii as they also do collaboration and specials and they do fill up really fast. The space here is incredibly massive and since I did book the first appointment it was nice and empty, you just check in and wait in the lounge area and my session with Marlo was just amazing, she listens to everything I had to say though gave suggestions as well and I really loved how it turned out which is still natural but with a twist some didn't even notice which is okay with me as I know that as my hair grows it will blend in well without obvious color separation, and that's amazing! They do root touchups as well I know that in a few months I do have that option that will keep thing a bit price friendly for upkeep. They have so much services here I do want to return for some massage services...which self care do you need? Thank you!

I didn't want to make this review because my stylist was so nice The services I got was women's haircut, toner, and headspa. Haircut: I left not getting exactly what I wanted. But it was close enough Headspa: This treatment was worth it! My hair was soft and so relaxing Toner: We had the same understanding that I was aiming for a light brown ashy (like a mushroomy color) after washing my hair I was afraid it looked too dark. She told me not to worry and that when she blow dry it the color would show. Unfortunately it didn't. My hair looks uncolored now like as if I covered up all my highlights hair. I didn't expect to pay more than I expected to cover up highlights that I paid so much money for. Overall: My stylist was so nice, I loved speaking with her and enjoyed my time at the salon. My experience with my hair isn't great unfortunately. Leaving the salon I was thinking "it's okay I'll just learn to love it" but my hair just looks way too plain now. I miss my highlights. Another side note, is that I hope I was told what the cost of my toner was going to be. When booking it says starting $65. And during my appointment I was never told that it would cost X amount for this style and etc. I ended up paying $123 for toner which would have been fine (if I was told ahead of it) but with the result of it... I was unsatisfied. Am I able to get some help? How can I remove some of this toner so I can see my colors again

I loved both Korean Contour Facial experiences with Mila! She is super sweet, not pushy, and she has VERY strong hands for such a petite person (which means excellent massages for the head, shoulders, back, arms). She suggested a chemical peel for my hyperpigmentation/sun damage after my first facial. I told her abt the first time I had a peel and my sensitized skin reacted like I had a sunburn for a day right after, and she assured me hers is gentle. I was vain enough to give it a go. Holy cow it burned so much (which she warned me beforehand) but she had a little electric fan to help cool the burn. She also gave me some sheet masks to help with the healing and suggested sunscreen. The good news is I didn't look like a lobster the next day! I was aggressive with the sunscreen and moisturizing in the days after. It's been a week, most of my old skin has shed, and new skin feels soft and smooth. Idk if I'd brave the peel again though haha but i'd definitely return for more Korean Contour Facials! Appointments were easy to book online. Checking in and out was always quick and easy. The salon is always bright snd cheery.

I've been seeing Vee (@vielkishair) for a bit and she is amazing! She is very welcoming and always makes my hair experience wonderful! The space in Dada salon is super clean, nice, and tidy. They have free water for guests and you can also order food while you are getting your hair done! I'm not 100% sure if they take walk-ins, but I highly recommend booking with a stylist! Overall, Dada Salon provides an amazing space for stylists and I highly recommend you get your hair cut, colored, or styled by Vee! Also, I recommend parking on the 2 floor of Ala Moana Mall near Macy's and just walk over to the hotel so you don't have to valet your car!

What I enjoyed: The therapists were very professional and respectful of our preferences. They sent a questionnaire ahead of time to understand what we wanted, and when I emailed with some additional requests, they were able to accommodate everything, which I really appreciated. The massage room itself was beautiful, with a big bathtub for a coconut bath after the treatment and its own bathroom. The amenities were great too: snacks, drinks, fruits, a dry sauna, steam sauna, and a waiting lounge overlooking the ocean with lay-down chairs. The lounge wasn't busy at all, and you could easily spend an hour there relaxing. Booking was easy via email and the staff was very responsive. Valet parking is included. What could've been better: The jacuzzi was out of order during our visit, and I wasn't informed ahead of time. I had to ask for a prorated rate, and the person checking us out initially didn't want to give the discount until their manager stepped in. For a big hotel-affiliated spa, I expected better communication and consistency on something like this. The showers also ran out of bath products (either shampoo or body wash), and the locker area was missing some amenities I'd expect at this price point, like makeup remover and skincare beyond generic body lotion. I also had trouble getting a receipt with my name on it initially, though they eventually sent one. One other thing to note: the spa is right above the hotel beach and pool area, so you can hear people rather than just ocean waves or spa music. It didn't bother me too much, but it's something to be aware of if you're expecting total tranquility. Despite these issues, it was still a wonderful experience and I'd recommend it for a special occasion!

I had a wonderful massage experience at Uilani Spa from the moment I walked in. Everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. I was greeted with a refreshing hot towel for my hands and given a consent form to complete. Then I was escorted to the women's locker room with a bathrobe and slippers, where i changed and stored my belongings in a complimentary locker. Afterwards, I relaxed in a quiet, dimly lit lounge until my massage therapist, Yumiko, retrieved me. She expertly honed in on my problem areas before she began working on me. My shoulders were very tight and in pain while she worked on them. I heard my spine pop a few times. It's that moment of "Ahh..." when the pockets of tension you didn't know about are released and you wonder how much you were low grade suffering in daily life without realizing. I signed up for the lomi lomi massage, which I've never had before. I'm not sure if the hot towel treatment is part of every massage they do here but it's a nice touch that helps undo the knots. It's like Uilani thought of every little thing to help you relax beyond the massage itself. The massage cot can be adjusted to a seated position, which is how my massage ended. It's like they're easing you back into being vertical again. The experience continues: You go back to the lounge where you sip iced tea and eat a small crunchy snack before you leisurely make your way back to the locker room for a hot shower. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, a blow dryer, Q-tips... all provided for you. You're not rushed to pay and get out. This place is about 50% more than another place where i had a one year membership, but all the little touches they use to enhance your relaxation and enjoyment make the experience so relaxing. You didn't just get a massage, you got a full relaxing experience.

The entrance gives access to all the spa amenities including the charcoal sauna, red clay sauna, steam sauna, dry sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge tub. I came in around 10 AM without an appointment and they were still able to accommodate me for an 11:30 scrub, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend making an appointment though, especially if you're planning on getting a scrub or package service. I was able to experience all of the amenities, and for most of the saunas I actually had the rooms to myself, which made the experience feel even more relaxing and peaceful. Honestly, this would make a perfect solo date or even such a great girls' day activity. My scrub was done by Young, and she was amazing. This was actually my second Korean spa experience in Honolulu, and honestly, the other one doesn't even compare to this level of cleanliness, service, and overall atmosphere. The only minor thing that made me slightly uncomfortable was during checkout while I was tipping -- another worker or possibly co-owner was standing directly behind me, and I wasn't sure if she was looking at the screen. It wasn't enough to ruin the experience, but it was the only moment that felt a little awkward. Other than that, my experience was amazing from start to finish. For me, I expect more if I'm paying a total of $187 for a 60-minute massage. FACILITY: There's a utilitarian wet sauna (e.g., no aromatherapy), dry sauna, and hot & cold pools inside; a small lounge area is outside with what appears to be a jacuzzi. I say "appears" because I just happened to notice the jets. There was no sign identifying it or explaining how to turn it on. The wet sauna was off and there was no sign explaining how to turn that on, either. PERSONAL AMENITIES: You're given a nice robe and one towel. I was only told to bring a bathing suit, so I was expecting disposal spa slippers. Nope. I had to walk everywhere barefooted, including the locker area where people (naturally) had walked in their outside shoes. Ugh. You could pick up a small tube of hand/body lotion, a small shaving kit (disposable razor & tube of generic shaving cream) and/or a small vanity kit (tiny nail file, cotton swabs & cotton pad) at the sinks. There were no snacks or even drinking water available unless you had a massage -- then you were given a bottle of water when it was over. MASSAGE: This is the first time I thought to myself, while getting a massage, "This woman could easily kill me with her bare hands!" Her hands were that strong. She'd asked me if I wanted my massage "hard" or "soft," and I replied, "medium, and we'll see how that goes." Well, it went very painfully at times -- I had to tell her repeatedly to go softer. It's a week later and my shoulders still hurt with certain movements. SERVICE: The receptionist (the only person always onsite; the masseusses and such are called in when needed) was not very gracious when I asked her how to turn on the wet sauna and only reluctantly went back and did it ... so I didn't bother to request her help to use the jacuzzi. Clear communication, in general, was lacking. For one, I was told on the phone that a bathing suit was necessary for the saunas, but once I got there, was told I could choose to just wear a towel. I've read the other reviews, and I see that they offer a kamaaina discount. No one told me that, even though I said at multiple points (on the phone and onsite) that I lived in the neighborhood. BOTTOM LINE: I'll try some other day spa next time I want to pamper myself.

What a hidden gem! Kamaaina discounts, reasonable pricing,…read moregreat massage (Tomoko I believe was my therapist name), wet and dry saunas, outdoor hot tub and lounge area, and hot/cold contrast therapy pools. I believe you need to valet for parking.. easy! Will be back!
