I have had facials on a regular basis for a very long time. We are visiting HI and this was my first time to visit MK Skin Renew. Kyong was gracious and took time with me before starting to hear my concerns and explain her recommended treatments. My hour and a half treatment was very relaxing but thorough. Kyong was quiet, the music was soft, and the room very comfortable and clean. The hand and scalp massage was an extra bonus. Best of all I actually saw immediate results from this one time series of treatments. Wrinkles and lines were less pronounced and my skin had a healthy glow. I highly recommend MK Skin Renew and intend to make an appointment with Kyong when we come back next Jan read more

Kyong was recommended to me and I am so grateful. I honestly don't even know which facials I get from her, but I understand why she has such a loyal following. Yes, your face is getting the best quality products and techniques, but she is so loving, serene, and firm, that I always walk out of there feeling renewed literally from the inside out. She knows how to see things in skin no one else does, and she gently reminds me with a twinkle in her eye to keep up my routine at home. She is super accommodating and can always get me in within the week. I can't say enough good things about her and her small, personalized business. read more

Kyong is a talented, kind, knowledgeable esthetician who is based in Honolulu. She's deeply committed to delivering high quality results and tailoring each appt to address her client's needs. She has been practicing for 20+ years and has loyal clients in Hawaii and across the globe. I booked a last minute appt with her and I'm SO GLAD I DID because she helped me feel rested, hydrated and well taken care of. I can't wait to see her again the next time I'm in Oahu. MK Skin Renew - A picture of Kyong from her website - Skin Care Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

MK Skin Renew is one of those places I want to selfishly keep to myself so that I can continue to get appointments at my preferred days/times. Before I decided to give this place a try, I pored over reviews for 6 different businesses that offer facials. I read and re-read reviews for almost two weeks. Why? Because facials are not cheap and I'm very picky about who I allow to touch my face. Based on reviews, availability, and location (it's just a 15-minute walk from my apartment), I went with MK Skin Renew. I went with the hydrafacial + microdermabrasion + LED service because it seemed like the best deal. And I was not disappointed! The salon is super clean and neat, which is something else I look for because good hygiene and clean tools are crucial. Before Kyong even took me into the treatment room, she sat me down to give me an initial consultation. She took one look at my face and was able to catch and name all of my skin concerns like some kind of derma-psychic. As soon as I laid down on the treatment bed and Kyong started the microdermabrasion, I passed out. I woke up a couple of times to the sound of my own snoring. I've always been curious about what a hydrafacial is, but I'll have to wait and find out next time since I slept through it on my first visit. After the facial, I didn't get breakouts like I sometimes do post-facial. My pores looked smaller and my skin was clearer overall. Kyong showed me the products she had used on me and recommended that I purchase them. Not only is Kyong an expert esthetician, she's a smart saleswoman. She only uses and carries Skinceutical products which I've never tried before because of the sky-high price point. She recommended 5 products for me which, if I have to estimate, would have cost me $700-800. I bought one of the products because I've been desperately trying to lighten sunspots on my face, so I'm willing to pay for it. When I got home, I did some online research and learned why Skinceutical products are so expensive (they're apparently one of the innovative pioneers at the forefront of skincare). Something else that was validating was that Kyong does not mark up the prices of her products; she sells them at the same prices as what's listed on Skinceutical's website. It's been almost a week and my face still looks and feels as fresh as it did right after the facial. I definitely plan to go back in 4-6 weeks! read more

I can see the difference in my skin and sun damage has faded. I'm pampered at all my sessions. It's an hour of me time!

I can't say enough good things about Kyong and her skincare practice! I used to struggle with clusters of acne and felt too self-conscious to leave the house. But after seeing Kyong, my skin has completely transformed, and I didn't have to make any major changes to my daily routine or diet--just regular visits with her worked wonders. Her expertise and care are unmatched. She tailors every treatment to my skin's needs, and the results speak for themselves. My skin looks better than ever, and now, if I get a pimple, it's gone within a couple of days--something I never thought would be possible! Kyong's practice is also a peaceful, clean sanctuary. The arm/hand massage during treatments and the tea she offers at the end make the whole experience feel incredibly luxurious. Kyong has not only transformed my skin, but also my confidence. If you're looking for a skincare expert who truly cares and delivers results, look no further--she's the best!! read more

I had my first appointment with Kyong of MK Skin Renew on Saturday (1/4/2025). Setting up the appointment was so easy! All I did was text the owner (Ms. Kyong) at the number posted on her website. She listened to my concerns and made evaluation on her own; then I requested we go with her recommended treatment. I had some extractions and a hydrafacial. Afterwards she recommended me some products, which she had already used on my skin during treatment. She carries different brands and lines of products of all types but recommends only those which she thinks will best help your specific skin. She explains her reasoning for picking the products and provides a step by step routine. I really appreciate both the personalized approach and her experience/vast knowledge. You can tell she really knows what she is talking about. My second appointment with her was on Saturday (1/25). I had used the products she recommended me and implemented them in my routine per her step-by-step guidelines. She assessdd the progress of my skin and we both agreed it got much better. Again I had a hydrofacial (maybe a deluxe version)? and had extractions done. We set a date for my third appointment. This morning, Friday (1/31/25) my husband randomly commented on the new quality of my skin. He has been away for about a month and I did not tell him about my new skincare routine or about the treatments I've been getting at MK Skin Renew. He said "Your skin looks different. Like it's glowing. It looks really good! It's better. What are you doing?" To hear that from someone who sees me everyday and knows what I look like in detail really solidified what I already felt: Kyong is a knowledgable skin goddess! and I'm so happy to have stumbled upon her business. That's the reason I am writing this review. I hope others with problematic skin who are looking for solutions can take a chance and try MK Skin Renew. Please look no further. I'm going to continue with the products/routine that she chose for me. I will continue going once a month for treatments. read more

Excellent, personal consultation followed by hydrafacial, expert microdermabrasion, glycolic peel, LED light therapy and clogged pore extractions. She really knows her stuff and the results are impressive. My skin feels so, so much better (no more clogs) and brighter. Nothing is clogged any longer and it's so smooth and soft. She is not inexpensive, though. and she will sell you some top tier products on your way out (I bought two cleansers for a true double cleanse by the high end company SkinCeuticals). If your budget allows you to visit MK Studio and for this personalized and customized facial service, I am sure they you will not be disappointed. I feel like a totally new person. Thank you so much!!! Note - I forgot to mention the comforting warm tea at the end of the service and the hand/arm massage during the service. Amazing. read more

Usually I don't write reviews for anything, but MK Skin Renew deserves more recognition than it ever receives. I'm 15, and I have always traveled to different dermatologists/aestheticians around Oahu and I have never seemed to have any reason to stay at their office. However, I finally found this aesthetician, Kyong, who has sparked the best for my skin, mental, and emotional health. She is super kind and very understanding. I was first embarrassed to pull my mask down to show her what she had to work with, but she never judged me and made me feel safe to open up to her about how I felt about my acne. As I had my first consult with her, I was always eager to see her again the next time. She gave me the best recommendations and in a short amount of time, I have seen the biggest difference in my skin!!! She has the most gentle hands that has ever touched my skin, and she takes her time and makes sure she's targeting concerning areas, but also deep cleaning minor areas. So far, I have started with the cleaning and extractions for a couple of months, and just recently I am working with a chemical peel. I have seen a huge difference in the care of my skin, and I have never thought I'd see what I've wanted to see, EVER!! Before she even starts anything, she'll let you know what products she will apply onto your face. She also includes calming music and sets the temperature to a perfect cold. I appreciate how clean and organized Kyong keeps her office, whether it's where you're waiting or getting your facial done. There are descriptions of products to over view, sometimes little treats, and she offers water/tea to keep you hydrated! Lastly, the products she recommends can CHANGE YOU, not just your skin, but help you work on having consistency as a habit. She really teaches you that when you give yourself a vision, it's already yours, you just need to be religious on working on it. She also makes sure you're on track, and when she has a prodigy change for you, she'll let you know depending on how your face has been reacting with what she offered. Kyong is the sweetest, kind-hearted, honest, and respectful aesthetician I have ever met. She really cares for her patients, and would even greet you on occasional holidays. She always asks how you've been, and talks to you to have you feel more comfortable. I love coming to her. She gave me a sense of hope and many reasons to work as hard as she works with me, but to also keep myself stress free. I walked in with severe acne, pustules, and bumps and redness over the other. Now I walk in with a smile and a smooth and hydrated skin. If you're looking for an aesthetician that you can gain trust from and never leave disappointed, please check out MK Skin Renew!!!! I never regret any moment I've had, let alone haven't regret spending a dime on these glorious products. I hope to see you in the waiting room too!! read more

I started going to Kyong in August of 2022 (happy one year!) and the quality of my skin has improved to a level which I never thought was possible. I had pretty consistent breakouts, clogged pores, pretty bad discoloration, and borderline cystic acne. I thought I was doing enough in my old skincare routine, but Kyong set me right. Kyong is clearly very passionate about the health and state of my skin, and will be forward and honest with me when I need to do more of something in my routine. She was always quick to respond to questions I had about the new routine I had invested in with her (optional of course, but it's 100% worth it knowing that you have the right products). She uses Skinceuticals mostly, which is a highly rated skincare brand that has been around for a looooong time. It's a little pricey but the ingredients are very high quality and make a huge difference in my opinion. The experience itself is very relaxing, I almost fall asleep every time hahaha. For me, Kyong does a combination of deep cleansing, a Hydrofacial, extractions, chemical peel, and red light therapy (my acne is very strong lol). For all of these services, she offers a very fair and competitive price compared to other places in town. Plus, she's in a private office with parking. I really wish I took a before picture when we first started, because the difference is pretty crazy. I still have some acne scarring, but it's been gradually getting lighter. I used to be very insecure and depressed about the state of my acne, it seemed like nothing I tried worked and it felt like I was just destined to deal with adult hormonal acne forever. I didn't like when my husband would touch my face either because all I could think about was how bumpy and gross it probably felt. Now, I tell him to feel how nice my skin is in the morning or after a shower :) Getting into a solid skincare and facial routine with Kyong was definitely the best decision I made for myself last year. I recommend her to anyone who wants to get serious about healing their acne, I promise it's not hopeless!! read more

Wonderful facial with excellent service. Highly recommend. I will be back many more times. I am seeing really great results using the products Kyong recommended and frequent visits. Thank you Kyong! read more

I have been having different types of facials over the years at different salons and recently a friend introduced me to MK Skin Renew Facial. I have had two hydra facials so far. Kyong, the owner, is very knowledgeable, professional, warm and is genuinely passionate about skincare. The salon is very clean, and free parking is available. She takes pride in what she does and uses the best products in the market. My skin feels amazing and I highly recommend MK Skin Renew. read more

I got a facial a couple weeks ago here and honestly it was 4 of 10, I told her that I wanted a deep extraction and basically that was the only reason that I went there, she charges for many things without telling you so be careful, I paid about 200$ and the extraction were mediocre, she didn't even use the High Frequency facial machine to CLOSE my pores so whatever she took away of my blackheads, they came worst and they became pimples. Overpriced for the service, I mean she is really nice but if you go to get a facial (extractions), the point is at least to have a better skin without blackheads, if I wanted creams and face masks I would definitely do it at home, if I'm looking for a professional it's to get the help that I can't do by myself. I'm that person that like to get facials monthly so I know what is a good facial. Also at the moment that I got there she literally started overselling products even if I didn't see her service first, so you know, you can see when someone is just thinking about money and not the experience. read more

MK Skin Renew - She opened my pores, made some extractions and didn't close them, so I got more blackheads than before. I tried my best with my skincare. - Skin Care Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Kyong continues to be the best skin care source on the island. She always makes me skin look brand new. And she is one of the limited providers of a Hydrafacial! This is the #1 facial out right now according to New Beauty magazine. She notices everything about your skin. She knows how to treat it right. She also sells skinceuticals line which is the best line in beauty care. She books fast cause she is so good! Still she will work with you if needed. read more

Left a photo for reference when parking, there's a cone in the lot that says MK skin renew. Kyong is the sweetest and I had the best experience with her. She examined my skin and asked about my concerns before explaining her recommendations. This was the first time my extractions were not unbearably painful, but still felt like I had baby skin afterwards. I left glowing and so relaxed! I'm so excited to go back and for my skin to improve! read more

Great place for amazing facials. Service is great and your face will love you for it!

Kyong is absolutely amazing. I've been going to her for about a year now when I can and my skin continues to improve. She has a gentle touch which I really appreciate and she takes time to listen to your concerns. I have extremely sensitive and reactive skin, so much so that I have a list of only the products I can use and she has all of them! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new esthetician! read more

My skin is transformed with Kyong's expert care and guidance. I had it all wrong spending money on IPL to treat rosacea. Kyong flipped the script! She deep cleans my face... My skin has never been so clean and as a result, the rosacea along with clarity and tone are all so much better! It's such a joy to look in the mirror and see my healthy skin instead of a clogged and red complexion. No wonder I was touching my face- it was itchy! Mahalo nui loa, Kyong! I'm a better me because of you! read more

I have been getting my hydrafacials from Kyong for a few years now and have seen a huge improvement in my skin. I no longer get cystic acne, my pores have shrunk incredibly in size and my hyperpigmentation has gone away. Kyong is seriously the best! She is professional and warm, always on time and carries some of the best skincare products. Her prices are very reasonable for Honolulu and absolutely worth it! The spa is sanitary and there is always free parking available . Thank you Kyong!!!! read more

I have been going to Kyong since January 2022 and I could not be happier. I was dealing with all different types of acne, especially on my forehead, and I could not deal with the antibiotics and topical cream anymore. I started to go to kyong every 2 weeks and using the products she recommends to me, and I felt so much more confident! The breakouts slowly went to just 1 or 2, and today I get very few breakouts! She knows how to deal and accommodate to my skin because it is very oily and I am only 20 years, so nothing to harsh. Today I go to Kyong regularly every 3-4 weeks, use the products she recommends and it is always a treat, and I would recommend her business to anybody struggling with their skin. On top of everything else she is very kind, professional and her space is very clean and relaxing. read more

I had an amazing hydrafacial package with Kyong two days ago. I can see visible improvement (very clean and minimal size pores) right after the session. Two days after using the skincare products, I can notice more even skin tone. It included microdermabrasion, hydrafacial, and LED therapy. Kyong is very professional and knowledgeable and I am really glad I found her and will go see her regularly for skincare. Mahalo Kyong! read more

I love going to Kyong ! She gave me hydra facials and the last few times I've gone for micro channeling and I absolutely love it . It's painless and she applies a cream so I won't feel anything. Kyong is so sweet! I get the hydrafacial, microdermabrasion, and LED light therapy every few weeks and my skin feels much calmer now, breaking out less frequently and less inflamed on a daily basis. Her office is clean, relaxing and located in a convenient location. I appreciate all your help, Kyong! read more

All the great reviews are what led me to this place. I've gotten extractions before a couple years ago but it was definitely my first time getting a hydrafacial + dermabrasion + LED. I was nervous at first because when it comes to anything or anyone touching my face, I'm cautious... but it was quite relaxing. Kyong would tell me what the tools would do before she actually used them and even when it came to applying the skincare afterwards, she would inform me as to what it is she was using. I did get sucked into buying more than what I may have intended to when it came to skincare but when it comes to my skin, I think it is a good investment. I must say that my skin did feel a little sensitive the first couple days but after a week and now two weeks, I can still see the texture I had but slightly less than what it was prior but when I touch it, it feels really smooth. I do plan on seeing her again and I do highly recommend this place. Whether it's to get your skin in check, have a spa day, or even to just to see Kyong because of her personality and customer service. read more

I never would have imagined that having an effective correction and renewal of my facial skin existed until I met Kyong. She is very professional, knowledgeable and truly masters her craft. My skin without exaggeration, had decades of discoloration from acne scarring. After the first session, the discoloration lifted dramatically. Couple more sessions later, I observed even more dramatic improvement with visible facial glow and received multiple compliments. In short, Kyong is simply unparalleled. MK Skin Renew is the only place I'll go for a facial! Hands down the BEST experience from the moment you step foot into their beautiful spa to when you leave with a warm cup of tea in hand & glowing skin! Kyong, the owner, is beyond knowledgeable, skilled, & experienced in what she does. She is also so genuinely sincere & passionate about skincare. She takes pride in what she does & making you feel & look your very best! I have received numerous facials from Kyong (all absolutely amazing!), but my favorite is the microdermabrasion, hydrafacial, LED light therapy treatment. All treatments include a customized facial using top of the line products, such as Skinceuticals & Valmont. Kyong takes the time to address my skin concerns, explain what I need to do to correct/protect my skin from further damage, & always pampers me with the perfect personalized facial! I would highly recommend treating yourself to a facial with Kyong at MK Skin Renew. Once you see her, you will be hooked & know firsthand why she is the very best out there! Kyong is absolutely amazing! I have been going to MK Skin Renew since 2019, and my skin had transformed within that first year! I had sensitive, combination acne prone skin , however since receiving Kyong's facials, my skin is well hydrated/clean and I only experience rare occasional hormonal breakouts. With the combination of time, recommended AM/PM routine and seasonal cleanups my skin looks younger, plumper and even toned more than ever before. She is knowledgable when it comes to the products she recommends. No one knows or understands what my skin needs more than she has, and I have been to many derm spas prior to finding Kyong. I always feel rejuvenated after appointments, and its not only the products and facial, but her calming and uplifting energy! I always tell her she has healing hands! read more

100% recommend. I've been going to Kyong for over a year now and I've seen great improvements with my skin. Kyong creates such a relaxing environment and really takes her time, I fall asleep every time lol. It's definitely an investment in your skin, but it's totally worth it. read more

I've been needing to write a review for Kyong. She's absolutely wonderful. I used to go see her a monthly basis. She takes her time and such good care of you. She's a very knowledgeable aesthetician. If you're having skin trouble go see her! Some people might think Facials are expensive but think about it as a routine, professional cleaning for your skin, just like most people go and get their teeth cleaned at the dentist twice a year. The frequency is really up to you. I'm very sad that I don't live in Honolulu anymore otherwise I'd still be a regular customer here. Thanks for everything Kyong! You are missed. read more

This is the place to visit if you're looking for a great facial! I've been to many places for facials, but Kyong is one of my favorite so far! I first visited her location to use my groupon for the hydrafacial (Reg. $130). She explained that it would be very beneficial for me to get the microdermabrasion before the hydrafacial so I upgraded for $10 (this was a special price when using the Groupon... not sure how much it is regular). It was well worth it!! The mircrodermabrasion helped smoothen my skin by getting rid of all the dead skin since my skin was very dry She then performed the hydrafacial, and the gel was able to be absorbed much better. Kyong was very informative and I never felt like she was just trying to upsell me. I returned for a follow up appointment 2 weeks later and was again VERY pleased witht the service and results. I wish that I could afford seeing her every month... Hopefully I will schedule to go back to see her soon! Also, I really appreciate her customer service. Scheduling the appointment was very easy and she was so friendly on the phone! The day of my appt, she was running a little late with a client and left me a VM on my cell phone. I really appreciate getting a heads up! read more

I'm 28 years old, I've been working in the beauty industry since I was 20, and I wish I met Kyoung sooner. As a younger person you don't think about skincare or even the importance of sun screen. Being in the makeup industry you wear lots and lots of makeup daily. Recently a friend of mine (with the most beautiful skin) recommended me to see Kyoung and I'm so glad I did! Making an apt with her was so easy and she was super sweet. When I arrived she was very welcoming and sat and talked to me about my skin. I've had 1 facial from her so far & purchased new skincare she recommended and my skin has been looking so much better in such a short period of time. It's CRAZY! Getting compliments from my co workers daily is the best feeling. Knowing that people notice and it's working is amazing! Nothing and no one has ever been able to help my skin. Today is my second facial with Kyoung and I am so excited because I am bringing my other half with me to see her as well. Kyoung is a MUST SEE! She's great! 10 star service! I can't wait to have the skin I've always wanted! read more

This was the best facial I have ever had. She really took her time and went the extra mile to create a relaxing atmosphere. The massage she provided was heavenly and the facial was amazing as well. I highly recommend MK Skin renew. Kyong is the owner and she does amazing facials.. admittedly I seek out Korean facialist just from my previous experience from high end Korean spas to LA, NY and now Honolulu, I've found that some other facialists skimp around the corners and do not offer the full luxurious treatment, especially for how much a facial can cost. Kyong is thorough and offers the kind of service I have come to expect. My problem was very dry skin with premature fine lines, but after 3 treatments I'm good as gold again. Couldn't be happier, especially with her care and professionalism. read more

After meticulously searching a place that could help me with experiencing (adult) acne for the first time, I found out about Kyong's place. And I am so glad!! I've been going for a couple sessions now and the results I've got were above my expectations. Kyong also gave me very good advises on how to take care of my skin between sessions that have been super helpful. She's knowledgeable and explain all the steps and product used. And on top of all of that she's very kind! I truly wish I've taken before / photos. But you gotta take my word on this. I'm looking forward my next session! read more

My experience here was amazing. I purchased the $65 groupon for a hydrafacial, as I wanted to pamper myself before the stressful school semester begins. I ended up regretting not purchasing the $99 groupon for the hydrafacial, peel/microdermabrasion, and LED Blue Light Therapy, so she let me upgrade at my appointment. The extra $34 was very worth it. All three of these services together would normally cost $200+. I highly, highly recommend the hydrafacial. You can get microdermabrasion and peels from pretty much any esthetician, but the hydrafacial and blue light therapy are done with very expensive equipment, so not many estheticians offer this service. The blue light therapy is great for killing acne bacteria. I noticed immediately after that my skin was so much smoother, and she really extracted out all of the bumps and pimples that were on my cheeks. The extractions that took place with the blue light therapy were really painful, I won't lie, but so worth it. My skin feels so smooth now. No bumps. Her shop is really high end. It is located on Kapiolani BLVD., between Keeamoku and Piikoi. It is directly across the street from Secured Gold Buyers. If you're going towards downtown, it will be on the right side of Kapiolani. If you're heading towards Waikiki, it will be on the left side of Kapiolani. There is limited free parking available. I have been to two other estheticians, and her office is definitely the nicest. Her set up is extremely clean and everything is well-decorated and high-end. I also really love the steam machine she uses that sprays a small amount of steam on your face during some parts of the facial. My only sadness is that the regular prices are pretty expensive. She offered me a pretty substantial discount since I'm a student for return visits, but I doubt I will be able to come in on a monthly basis as recommended. I was really lucky that the person after me canceled her appointment, so I wasn't rushed at all during my appointment. I would highly recommend Kyong! I wish I could come here every month if I could. I definitely hope she makes another groupon. She also gives a really amazing face and scalp massage. It's truly the most amazing pampering experience. read more

I hesitate to write this review because I don't want to make getting an appointment any more difficult than it already is. Kyong is a skincare angel. I love this woman and I recommend her to anybody who will listen. Because of her expert guidance and care, I actually get compliments on my skin from random strangers all the time. After a life of problematic skin this is a new and delightful experience. I see her every two weeks and it always feels like catching up with an aunty (one that takes all my money! JK JK). My whole family sees her and their skin has never looked better. I made a joke about the price but she is actually quite a good deal when considering her experience and level of care. The same procedures are much more elsewhere and of lower quality. I have scoured the island in search of an expert like Kyong and I am grateful to have found her. read more

So glad that I've finally come to invest in my skin! I've always struggled with acne and dark spots, but wearing a mask all day has caused my skin to break out so much that I needed help. This is where Kyong and MK Skin Renew has saved me! After my first facial with Kyong I could instantly notice decreased redness and inflammation. I've now been going to Kyong for over a month and can confidently say she knows what's she's doing. Kyong is very friendly and will take the time to teach you about your skin needs as well as point out skin products that she recommends, but does not pressure you into buying anything. Location is convenient with free parking. Her waiting room as well as treatment rooms are very clean and well kept. Making an appointment with Kyong is very easy and she is great at communicating if you have any questions/concerns between appointments.
