How the hell was I to know that. I did not get that explanation. They have a return window of 45 days. What a horrible surprise. I've purchased a battery every year. As a loyal customer I feel jilted, unappreciated and furious. They didn't even attempt to check the battery charge to confirm it was unused. Now I'm out almost $300 because of this bogus policy. Infuriating.

He took his time to clean the corrosion from the old battery and even sprayed protectant to help deter more corrosion. It is like a gas station placed out in the middle of the desert to give you an idea of its atmosphere. If it were not one customer who had the hood of his vehicle up in the parking lot I probably would have thought that this place was closed. My visit was solely to purchase a rear brake light bulb because I was pulled over by an officer for it being out, so my visit was quick. Their system was down, so the associate required me to bring in the bulb in order for them to look up the part number to better assist me. She asked her coworker I think his name was Jonathan to help me put em in my car (it was a struggle to take the lid off) and he found that I didn't even need them ! 1 star -- Avoid this shop if your time is valuable…read more I scheduled a 1:00 PM appointment for a wheel alignment after replacing suspension components. I arrived 5-10 minutes early, checked in, and left my keys. The person at the front desk told me the service would take approximately 1.5-2 hours. I left the car and went shopping nearby to pass the time. After about 1.5 hours, I received a call from the shop. I thought they were calling to let me know the car was finished, but instead I was told they hadn't even started working on it and needed another 1.5-2 hours. The explanation was that they had a pickup truck that needed to use the only alignment lift because it was too heavy for their other lifts. Since my vehicle needed an alignment, they couldn't use the other lifts for my car. The frustrating part is that when I arrived for my scheduled appointment at 1:00 PM, the alignment lift was empty. Instead of taking my vehicle for its scheduled alignment, they chose to put the pickup on the alignment lift, knowing that this would prevent them from servicing my car. If I'm not mistaken, the truck was a regular F-150, around 6,000 lbs. If their other lifts couldn't handle it, that's understandable -- but the way they handled the situation was not. They should have considered the scheduled appointments before occupying the only lift required for my service. The biggest problem was the lack of communication and complete disregard for my time. Nobody informed me that my appointment would be delayed. I had to wait 1.5 hours just to find out that they hadn't even started. Big shout-out to Midas, which took care of my car the next day, completed the alignment in less than an hour, charged the same price, and provided a 3-year warranty instead of Pep Boys' 1-year warranty. I won't be returning to Pep Boys. If your time is valuable, I recommend taking your business elsewhere.
