Made an appointment to check my battery which should take about 2 minutes. Instead I was told that I needed to wait an hour because they had to inspect the car. When I told them I didn't want an inspection, I just wanted to know if the battery had any juice left, he said it was policy. Complete BS. I'm sure they would have magically found things that needed to be fixed immediately during that inspection even though my car was just at the dealership for maintenance a few months ago. Do not, under any circumstances, bring your vehicle here for any work! My fiance's Mercedes CLA250 threw a check engine light for a faulty coolant temperature sensor. Unfortunately, I was stuck traveling for work, so I told her to bring it into Pepboys to get it replaced while I was gone. For some reason, they performed a wheel alignment, oil change, oil pump solenoid replacement and ECU wiring harness replacement. None of which makes any sense at all. However, my fiance did not know that and authorized the work to be done for a total cost of $1935.92. When she picked up the car, go figure, it was still throwing the same check engine light for a coolant temp sensor. I called and brought the vehicle back in. The tech agreed with me that none of this made any sense and told me they'd look at the car again and give me a call. 5 days later, no call, so I went back in. It turns out they didn't even look at the car again. I explained to a different tech this time what had happened and he agreed nothing made any sense but he'd get the car looked at that day. Later that day, I got a call finally from a 3rd tech and he told me the car would need a new coolant temp sensor, and that I'd have to pay over $1300 to have it replaced. I explained to him what had happened and he agreed that none of this made any sense. He assured me he'd speak to the manager to get this resolved and that the manager would call me. Another 5 days later, no call. I went in to the store to try and get to the bottom of all of this and met the 3rd tech in person. He told me his manager said they would do nothing to fix the issue and that my only solution was to pay the new work order. He again told me none of this makes any sense. The person running this place is complete scum looking to take andvantage of anyone that walks into the door. Do not go here for repairs on your vehicle. I'm taking this up with corporate and hoping for a resolution. read more

WASTE OF TIME! Scheduled an appointment for 11:30 for an oil change and brake inspection. When I got there they were confused cause they thought I just wanted an oil change. Once we got it sorted they said I'd get a call in an hour for an update. After 2 hrs w/ no communication, I called myself and was told they were just pulling my car in for inspection. I asked for a time estimate and was told they'd call me right back after they asked. Another 30 min went by so I walked a mile back to get answers. They said nothing had been done to the car yet other than someone driving it around the parking lot to check the brakes. They also couldn't give me an estimate on time or what they think needed to be done and to sit in the lobby and just wait. After 15 more minutes I was asked if I would leave it with them overnight. 3 hours had passed since my appointment time and they were just now saying they might need a few hours to figure things out, so I just asked them to stop whatever they were doing and I took my car to a local mechanic because this was infuriating. read more

Man, what a disaster. This place is convenient to my work which is what lead us to getting work done here. The manager Manny seems very nice and helpful, if it wasn't for him, this would be a 1 star. I don't even know where to start here...because what they do should be criminal. They're really out here just trying to rip people off in this economy. really WATCH out for yourself if you decide to come here. You need to have some balls and a backbone to deal with these bonehead employees or avoid this place altogether. They bait and switch their prices, show you a quote for way lower than what it'll actually cost (call them out) I'll echo the sentiments of other customers. I took my car here to have my alignment, suspension, shocks worked on. Jose gave me quotes then charged me hundreds of dollars more, had me fix things that weren't an issue, they shredded my brand new tires by not fixing my rear suspension properly, tried to blame it on another shop, then had to fix it again and charged me for new tires when they're the ones that didn't fix the issue. I'm actually not even sure wtf they were doin. I got mad and told them I wanted to see all the new parts and work. This kindve nipped it in the butt, but then I came back to finish the work they had started and had the same thing happen by the same guy Jose, avoid him at all costs, dude is a scammer. I've had my car in an out of this shop a few times this year and everytime it came back there was a new problem worse than the original. I think there may even be something criminal, or some type of scam being run here grossly inflating prices, parts, etc...Also the wait times are insane, they will intentionally keep your car all day so then can charge their overnight fee. Will intentionally not answer phones, get back to people 1 hour before close after being told it'd be a couple hours at 10am. I had an appt for new shocks and struts, at 10am the labor was quoted for 2 hours. Car wasn't done til 4 o clock. No call, we had to call wondering wtf was going on...they tried to rip me off every possible way, but I wasn't having it I saved the quotes they had given me 2 weeks prior for 864 after the inspection. I came back to have the work done and this dude Jose tried to bait and switch me AGAIN! and charge me 1400$. Busted out the old quote which they honored and was the whole reason I came back. Told them if they weren't going to honor their own quotes...I'd come pick up my car and go elsewhere. I'd recommend you do the same unless you have no other options. Oh and these morons put the wrong oil in my car (full synthetic) mine calls for standard 5w30...and then tried to charge me 250$ for an oil change. Saying they didn't have the other oil, all we have is synthetic etc. when I specifically told them standard 5w-30....wtf so you're just going to use the wrong stuff instead!? Brought car in for o2 sensor replacement. Already had the DTC codes ran, knew exactly what was needed and stated the price I was comfortable paying based off of other resources online. Agreed upon a fair price for the sensor replacement and was told at 9am, it would be an hour and a half. Finally left the shop at 3pm, only for the light to come back on in an hour. Called in to ask for Jose, who helped me through the morning and afternoon. Was told he went home and will be back the next day at 8am. To my surprise, i show BACK UP to the shop at 5:30pm and Jose is standing in the waiting room! This location WILL lie to you. If you can't trust them to tell you how long a simple sensor repair will take or who is there and when, how can you trust them to accurately and effectively fix your cars? 0 stars is a better rating for this untrustworthy shop. Was hesitant to work with a chain, but took my car here due to the check engine light...I had some trouble getting someone to call and update me on the status of my car...however Manny (I hope I'm getting his name right) the manager, stepped in and made the rest of my experience fantastic. He said he could make the obvious repairs and get my my car back to me sooner, but rather have the technician take the time to due his due diligence of ensuring there were no other issues...Manny gave me his personal cell phone to check in, called me repeatedly with updates, and was a delight to work with. I had a 10:00 appointment to fix a turn indicator that wasn't blinking. I was told 60-90 minutes. At 100 minutes I went back and asked about why their system showed no one had even been assigned to work on it and my car was still sitting where I'd left it. I was told I had to talk to the woman checked me in who wasn't in the lobby. I asked for my keys back so I could take it elsewhere. Within a minute she was out there and told me they were going to work on it now. About twelve minutes later it was done. Why have people make appointments if they're not honored and why make a customer wait so long for something they should know would only take a few minutes. Never again. read more

"All's well that ends well." There were a few bumps in the road, but it all worked out OK. The main problem was that it took me three tries to get the towing service set up --one operator was goofy, one spoke an incomprehensible English, and only on my 3rd try was I lucky enough to get a young man with a South Asian accent --named Ari or Arnie--who was very sharp and set up the towing perfectly. Once the car was in the shop it was suggested to me to replace all four tires, not only the flat one, but I said truthfully that I would wait and see what the dealer would say at the up-coming annual check. So they were OK with that, and replaced the one tire, and a couple of days later, the dealer confirmed that the new tire was fine and that I did not need to replace the others. Overall, the experience turned out well. The price for the tow was reasonable, Arnie/Ari set up the tow beautifully, the new tire was fine, and the "up-sell" was very mild and easy to fend off. The shop staff were easy to communicate with on the phone and gave me an accurate time for pick-up. I would overall recommend it, but just make sure you get someone at the Pep Boys towing service with whom you can communicate clearly and intelligently. read more

Yesterday called to see if someone could check out whether the flat tire I had with a screw in it was salvageable or needed to be replaced. Had one of those tire warranties you get from the dealer. They seemed busy and stated they wouldn't get to it until 7:30-8 and even though I asked if they could just assess the tire so the warranty company could cover costs if the tire needed to be replaced, they stated I'd have to just to wait. Three hours later they got it and patch repaired the tire without letting me know, which was a touch frustrating and I did give them grief. They didn't talk to the warranty company, but I will say for $25 they did put the donut back in its place, got the jack back in its holder (something I was struggling with), put the door to the jack compartment back on, and reset my tire pressure. Oh yeah, and patched the tire. I guess given I had low expectations I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail when I actually got in the car. So yeah, take that for what you will but overall I was grudgingly impressed. read more

Today, Sunday, May 5, 2024 Sean provided Professional, Stellar service and excellent product information. The team of young men under his direction are a well " Fine tune oil machine". I had a flat. 1 day prior I hit a deep hole in the road, thought my tire was ok, until I woke up this morning to do my errands and found my front drivers side flat. I thought that I could putting " Fix a Flat" spray in the tire was a good idea. (WRONG) I drove to gas station and fill it w/air to get me to Pep Boys, Big Mistake! Sean, explained why that was a poor decision. And explained the warranty if I purchased a tire. The tire was successfully replaced and he gave me extra information in regards to getting my vehicle "tuned up". I definitely will return. The Pep Boys at this location are shockingly mendacious. I presented an old Ford Focus with a badly slipping clutch. I received a bid of $6,300! They were going to replace most of the car. The main problem here is that there seems to be no connection between the website and the store. I purchased tires and booked an installation appointment online. First, the website let me book an appointment for 6:30 on a Thursday evening, and I chose the location specifically because they had the tires I wanted. I called the story to add an oil change to the appointment, and they informed me that I needed to come at 5:00 PM, and that the tires would need to be ordered. Why did the website let me book at 6:30 if the store needed two hours before closing to do the work? And why did the website lie about the inventory? On Thursday, I sat in traffic for half an hour to get to the appointment early. While I was stuck on the Kennedy, the store called to tell me tires were still not in, and I'd need to come later. Frustrated, I rebooked for Saturday at 11:30 AM. When I arrived at 11:30, I was told the work would probably not be finished until nearly closing time 6.5 hours later. To say I was frustrated by this time would be an understatement. There was some good news: the employees (Manny and Jose) tried to work with me to get the work done faster, as I had to be somewhere by 5. The work seems to have been of good quality. And the prices advertised online were honored. Ultimately it could have been worse... but it could have been a lot better too. read more

I had a really good experience at this Pep Boys. I made an appointment for my headlight to be replaced and they were ready for me right when I got there. I asked for my whole car to have a once over and they happily did it at no charge. They let me know some other things I should get done but didn't pressure me at all which was so nice. Plus, they noticed things the dealer did not that I am aware need help. So...they seem a bit more on the ball than other places. I was in and out in about 40 minutes, it was painless, seemed relatively reasonable in price and I plan to go back to have some of the repairs they noted done. read more
