Unfortunately these guys are scammers. Makes sense that they have high rating on here because I did not find out I was scammed till a year later. Charged me $290 for a catalytic converter, just found out they installed a busted $40 one and now am having to pay over $1000 elsewhere to have everything replaced after the busted one fell apart over the last year. This is a no-frills, back-to-basics repair/service shop that has you covered. I took my vehicle to the Roscoe Village location in Chicago (3349 N. Damen Ave). A very nice and cozy village north of Downtown. The speed of service was impressive and my 2020 Chevy Equinox sounds and drives like it did when I bought it new back in 2020. Hands down the best experience I've had at any auto repair facility in Chicago. Armando, the service manager, is very personable, a great listener and really knows his stuff. He sends the customer pictures of the problem area(s) and keeps you informed. I've had brake and exhaust services performed here and the repairs were done expertly and at a very fair price. The technicians did an excellent job in all instances. I like to work on my vehicle's maintenance myself, but when encountering something tricky or involving tools I don't have, this location is my go-to. Armando was a huge help to me today by welding a standard bolt onto my stripped transmission drain plug so that I can change my transmission fluid this weekend. He did this gratis. For good reason, many individuals in the city are apprehensive when they have an issue arise with their vehicle and have to take it to a shop for service. There are countless unethical facilities that take advantage of customers, especially ones that aren't familiar with working on cars or basic mechanical operation. This location is an exceptionally professional, well-run and highly proficient auto repair shop. The owner and residents of Roscoe Village are fortunate that they have someone like Armando to be there when needed. If you are looking for fast, reasonably priced, thorough/professional and friendly service - Mufflers 4 Less is the place for you! After a few months of researching mechanics in the area and receiving estimates for brake and rotor replacement on my Honda CR-V, I came across Mufflers 4 Less in Roscoe Village. I decided to give them a try based on their positive reviews and them being conveniently located down the street from my house. I spoke with Armando on the phone and explained the issues I had been experiencing with my brakes. I dropped my car off that same afternoon, a Monday around 3pm. When I arrived, Armando came out and did a brief inspection of my brakes/car. He pointed out a few spots with a flashlight and explained what he was looking for; rust, pad density, etc. He told me he would contact me the following morning with more information and an estimate. The next morning, Armando sent me a few pictures of my brake pads and asked me to give him a call when I was available. He spent 10-15 minutes on the phone with me explaining what the pictures meant (how thick the break pads were) and gave me an estimate* for the replacement. Additionally, he took the time to offer helpful advice and answer all of my questions. My car was ready for pickup later that day! *The estimate was reasonable and ended up saving me about $250 (based on estimates I had received from other shops in the area).* I could not be more pleased with the service and professionalism Armando and his team offered. Armando has done a really good job for our Honda CRV with 300,000 miles on it. It had some oil leaks and he tackled them, fixing the easiest first and working his way up to others. For a few hundred dollars the leaks are much much better. He also fixed our muffler system, replacing one part, instead of replacing the entire exhause, saving us hundreds. He is very honest and trustworthy IMHO. read more

BEWARE! ARMANDO IS A PROFESSIONAL SCAMMER AND AND A LIAR! HE IS RUDE, AGGRESSIVE AND SIMPLY SCAMMED ME FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS, DID HORRIBLE CAR REPAIRS THAT GOT ME ALMOST KILLED! 1st. scam - Few months ago I found mufflers 4 less on google search. I needed to fix loud muffler; paid $ 90.00 cash, 4 months later, muffler is loud and shaking as it was before "repair" 2nd scam - In July, few days after Armando worked on the muffler I trusted him to replace front brakes. He quoted me $ 380.00 (discount price if paid cash) to clean & lubricate brakes & rotors = exact words from his invoice = so, I paid cash $380.00 trusting in quality service for such price. Same problem; entire October brakes have been failing and making noises. I kept calling Armando for weeks but he kept lying and blaming me or others or simply ignoring my calls and requests to inspect the brakes and/or refund for bad job. 2nd week in November; BRAKES FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ALMOST CAUSING SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. I was forced to replace brakes & rotors due to damage caused by left rusted parts and debris on old brake pads! ARMANDO DID NOT REPLACE BRAKES & ROTORS BUT CHARGED ME FOR SUCH SERVICE, BUT ALSO HE DID NOT CLEAN & LUBRICATE SINCE OLD RUSTED PARTS WERE STUCK TO ROTORS AND PADS, WHICH RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO PADS AND ROTORS AND ADDITIONAL FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS EXPENSE. - Armando refused to show receipts for new brakes & rotors. - refused to inspect the issue even though I called him several times during the month of October & November. - Armando refused to refund for bad labor, kept coming up with random lies and excuses. - He refused to release business and full owner name. - refused to recognize his own invoice with proof of 1 year warranty. I TRUSTED THEM BASED ON OTHER REVIEWS = I FEEL DISCRIMINATED, SCAMMED AND PLAYED. MOST REVIEWS ARE BY LATINOS - PROBABLY FAMILY AND FAKE REVIEWS. I was visiting Chicago from Milwaukee and I had a flat tire at my hotel. The manager of valet of Hotel Zachary was kind enough to fill my tire with air and I headed over to Mufflers Four Less and Jose and his staff were terrific. I emailed him earlier in the day and he got back to me right away. I get to his location on Daren Ave in Chicago and he greeted me right away and he was so nice and friendly and very professional. I gave him my keys and he pulled my car in right away and plugged my tire. I was in and out the door and on my way in 15 minutes tops. I highly recommend this garage for all of your mechanical and tire or muffler needs. Finally, a trustworthy venue to have my car repaired. I am so impressed with this place. Have used Mufflers Four Less three times recently and experienced great service and have been pleasantly surprised by how inexpensive the bill has been. My first trip here occurred when my car suddenly started making noises louder than a motorcycle and the muffler appeared to be the culprit. Mufflers Four Less took a look see and I thought I misheard when they quoted me $20 for the repair. Apparently it was just a rusty bracket that had gone bad and the muffler itself was fine - was so happy with their honesty and that they did not act as though more intensive work was required. Visit two was an oil change; in the past every time I bring my car somewhere for an oil change (even when the car seems to be running perfectly) the shop "finds" an issue and recommends I get it repaired ASAP. At Mufflers Four Less they changed the oil and I was on my way. No up-sell attempts whatsoever. My last visit was to have my brakes worked on; once again great service and I was shocked with the bill; quite a bit lower than when I have had comparable work done elsewhere. Can't say enough good things about this place; they definitely have become my go to venue for car repairs. read more

With a two car household, it seems one or the other is in need of something. I need new tires, few weeks later my Husband needs new tires. I get my air conditioning fixed, few weeks later my Husbands heating goes out, then his alternator. At the end of September my Husband needed his brakes done, So here we are in December and my back brakes goes out. You know that car behind you that is so terribly loud that you pull over in a panic thinking your car is screwed! Yeah, that was me. Hell, people on the street would stop and stare in horror as I drove by. I think heard a few dogs howling. Bleh! I have my usual Mechanic but Mufflers Four Less is just a few blocks from home. My Husband got his brakes fixed there and was pleased with the service and the fair price. So I dropped off my car with Armando and his fellow Mechanics. He diagnosed the problem right away and told me It was the brakes. Further inspection determined that I needed brake pads and a rotor. That loud sound was metal on metal. So I asked him how much....and believe me, it was reasonable. I paid way more to get my front brakes done last year. I will be going to Mufflers Four Less for my car repair needs. Armando and his staff are honest, knowledgeable, friendly and not trying to rip you off. Terribly disappointed. I have been coming to this shop for years. It used to be operated by a middle age gentleman by the name of Armando. The last few times I have been here, I have been robbed by a younger man with a beard. Never introduced himself by the way. Run from this place! I went in for some work. He charged me three times the amount for the parts needed. I found this out because I researched pricing myself. He then added on extra hours for labor, which is $120 an hour. During these hard times, these mechanics should realize their license is not to steal from honest, hard working people. As I went to pick up my vehicle, he had recommended other break work, which was an extra $800 dollars. His quote for this was outrageous and falsely made due to the fact that I had the exact same work he recommend done two months prior in Indiana. In my opinion, the facts are that this new person in charge is extremely dishonest with part pricing and labor time. PLEASE RUN! read more
