On Wednesday, May 12, 2026 I reached out to Logan Square Auto Repair to get a "free estimate" on my 2019 Lincoln MKC to replace the rear trailing arms. I provided them with the information requested and was sent a text with the estimate. I then asked about the Costco 15% voucher and a time to bring the car in for repair. Their responds was I needed to bring the car in to the shop for a physical inspection to provide an accurate estimate. I brought the car to you on Friday May 14, 2026 asking for the estimate on the trailing arms and inquired about the dash board lights. They asked for 2 hours of time to prepare this. I received the estimate for the repairs along with an inspection report and quotes for 17 other "issues", I did not request an inspection of any kind. When I return to retrieve the car and finalize the repairs I ask a couple of question, first will they honor the Costco voucher and timing to have the repairs completed. Here are my challenges with the transaction, I had temporary access to these estimates and was locked out once I paid the fee of $81.00 ($77.,25 actual debit transition), your website states a free estimate but you charged me and then restricted my access. The garage has a deal with Costco to take 15% off the total bill but when asked I was told you would take 10% on part and 15% on labor. The texted estimate was $1610.00 prior to me asking about the Costco discount and the realtime estimate was $1750 as I recalling only being able to view it prior to lockout. Most concerning was your raid silent when I called to follow up on Saturday as requested by you, I called around 8:30 AM , followed up with a text at around 11 AM and another at 2:15 PM and as on this email there has been no response. The work has been completed by another garage and its is worth pointing out in this review it was completed at a cost of 1/2 what Logan Square Garage was going to charge me. I paid to have engine codes checked, their diagnostics fee. They're recommending a new engine which I likely assumed may be the case as I suspected a head gasket and my truck has a lot of miles. Their quote was $2,000 plus on the cost of a used engine with double the miles and no warranty. I at the time declined the work to investigate further. I've found many options on an engine with 50k-75k miles for significantly less buying direct from an engine supplier. I've come here several times now for service, and each time has been a good experience. Nic and team are good at what they do, and they have bailed me out of local break-downs twice. Prices are reasonable, and comparable to others. But the service here goes beyond the cost. It's funny, but I actually thought I was imagining things when I picked up my vehicle last week. Last week, I hit a pothole that wound up blowing my tire and damaging my rim. I called Logan Square Auto to see if they could help. They took a look at my tire same day, and informed me of what was needed to get it fixed. Once the parts were brought in on order, they yet again provided me same day service and replaced my tire, wheel, swapped my tire pressure sensor, and inflated my tire - all for a very fair price. Not only were they speedy, but they were kind and patient. My main point of contact was Gil, and he was awesome. These guys are so awesome! I am so happy I switched to Logan Square Auto Repair after I realized that the Honda dealership had been ripping me off for years. A friend recommended these guys to me and I could not be happier. It is an extremely convenient location, they will communicate with you via text and send photos of the work that needs to be done so you can see the condition of the different parts your dirty oil, your thin brake pads, etc etc. They also give a 15% discount if you are a Costco member! I highly recommend giving these guys a shot if you have not already. They speak directly to you about what is going on with your vehicle and give you a really good idea of what needs to be done now and what can wait. The mechanic took me to over to my car and walked me through several issues and showed me how well I had taken care of if my car by comparing it (from below when on a lift) to another similarly aged vehicle.
