Someone from the Jiffy Lube team called not to apologize and actually provide customer service but rather condescend and try to argue with me about how my claim must be incorrect and mansplaining to me why. Dare I say if I wasn't a woman I don't think he would've talked to me that way. This is exactly the kind of service that makes women uncomfortable with going to get basic car support. I brought my car in for an oil change. The oil change was fast and the staff was friendly. About 10 mins after I left the shop my car stalled. My car was running fine before the oil change, I thought maybe they didn't connect something back. I called the shop and they sent someone, Nicholas, right away. At first he couldn't find any wrong. He called his manager who suggested he reach out to two other managers. The other managers weren't available. After about 25 minutes of trying to get my car started he left and suggested I have the car towed to a shop and if what was wrong happened to be their fault they would work to cover the cost of the repair. Nicholas returned 5-10 minutes later. One of the other managers had reached out to him with a suggestion. The suggestion worked and my car was running just fine!! I have been going to this Jiffy Lube for many years. The last two visits have been terrible. On my previous visit, the technician who worked on my car had body odor. Yesterday, I went in for my regular oil change and the staff was very friendly. I even left a positive Google review, thinking everything was okay. However, this afternoon on October 12th, I discovered that my BMW is leaking oil like crazy in the parking lot where I live. This is terrible because today is Sunday and now I cannot get to work tomorrow, Monday. Additionally, my condo association will likely charge me to clean up the oily mess due to stupidity, negligence, inexperience, and incompetence from this Jiffy Lube. I went into the Jiffy Lube on Elston & Addison in Chicago IL for a routine Oil Change on 4/6/2026. After leaving the Jiffy Lube, on my drive back home, I noticed a light on my dash that I never saw before (see attached photo). This is a light that means that my "electric emergency brakes need inspection". Firstly, I have never seen this light come on my dash before, it was on as soon as I left this Jiffy Lube for the oil change. I went on google to trouble shoot on my own and tried to disengage the emergency brake, but I could not turn it off. I went back to the same Jiffy Lube the next day, to ask them to turn it off or see why this light was on suddenly after my oil changed at their location. The service technician came out to the lobby and told me this: "For the equinox? So, that light is the parking brake lights, it means your parking brakes are not working". I thought about this and asked him, "You're saying that I am not able to park my car?" and he replied, "No you can park your car, but the emergency brakes will not work, they need to be serviced". I thought about this and said "So, why did those lights come on all of a sudden after a routine oil change, was it something you guys did?" He denied that they did anything and said "No for oil changes, we never touch the emergency brakes. You would need to go to a mechanic, and have it inspected, we don't do any of that here". I left Jiffy Lube very disappointed in that location's lack of accountability. The main point here is that they clearly screwed up something with my car's emergency brakes and refused to fix and own up to their mistake. I understand that I dropped off my car at a time of the day when it was extremely busy, but that's not an excuse to be damaging people's cars and then pretending like you don't know what happened if a part of the car suddenly brakes or stops working. I will officially not be going to this Jiffy Lube moving forward, I think I will stick with taking my car to the Chevy Dealership moving forward. I would advise against going to this Jiffy Lube when it is busy. If you go to this location when it is not busy, take pictures of your dashboard before and after, take pictures of your car's exterior, you need proof that they may have damaged your car in some way. My advice is to go to a Certified Dealership per your car's brand, instead of Jiffy Lube. The Dealership may cost a little more money and it may take a few business days to get your car back while they service it, but I've never had a negative experience at a Chevy Dealership when it came to service. Also, aside from the damage they caused to my car's emergency brake system, they also didn't refill the car's window washer fluid, even they told me "Oh we topped off all your fluids for you, free of charge" which they normally do, but this time the window washer fluid in my car is empty. So, they were so busy that they missed refilling the window washer fluid in my car and they damaged the emergency brake system in my car. My advice do not go to Jiffy Lube or Mechanics, they do their business by fixing something and braking something else (either by accident or unintentionally, to make more money off of you). Also, I advise going to your neighborhood mechanics, unless they have very stellar reviews. My advice is to go to the certified dealership per your car's brand. Why? I feel like Dealerships make a lot of money selling cars; they don't need to screw up anyone's car during a service visit to make a little dough (they have enough). Lastly, I do not need a manager from Jiffy Lube to reach out to me, I don't want a refund (I will refuse it) nor an apology. I want the community to know about this experience so that they can make informed decisions about where to take their car for reliable and trustworthy service. So, go to your local car dealership. Standard jiffy lube service is solid but lots of weird extra charges that makes me want to not come again. Parts ordered end up $5-15 MORE than what they will tell you during their vehicle overview. I got a "shop supplies" charge separate from the parts I ordered which wasn't explained or told to me in advance. I tried to use a coupon off of their website but the computer wouldn't accept it. Worker explained they're owned and operated by a different company so they don't accept the coupon because it could be for any store. I had to repeat that I went to their location on their website and got the coupon there. I showed how I got it and everything. Finally they took the $10 off, how is there a discrepancy between the Jiffy Lube website and the actual Jiffy Lube? Good crew and everyone was nice, fast and easy, but there feels like a corporate stink trying to overcharge, secret charge, and not accept coupons. Will probably change my go-to spot because the "no nonsense" that used to draw me to Jiffy Lube might finally be gone. read more

This is my 3rd time here, and even though it is a bit out of my way, the level of service and trust I have with the management makes it well worth going out of my way for. Longest wait and process of an oil change I've ever experience. I've had multiple experiences here and I think I'm finally through going. Its convenient location near my house does not make up for how long you have to wait. No matter how many people are there or where you are in line, the oil change takes at least 45 minutes. When they finish with your car it just sits there for at least five minutes before they get around to checking you out. I've had two experiences that took over an hour. The last time I was there they left an interior piece of my car out so now I have a random plastic air filter piece sitting in my car but I'm afraid to go back because it'll take them at least 30 minutes. I took my car here for a routine oil change 3/08/2019 on Sunday 3/16/2019 I was on the highway and the hood flew open thankfully nothing happened to me or my daughter, I reported this to jiffy lube, Hector the manager came out to inspect my vehicle all he did was lift the hood saw some rust and that the hood wasn't lining up and said it wasn't there fault ! How can the hood line up when it was just flown open almost off the hinches ? He then says it took my tech 3 try's to make sure the hood was secure because it kept popping up I was not told this ! It's they're responsibility to inform customers of these things so this wouldn't happen if I knew . I have 2800 bucks of damages and they don't want to pay but will help me with my deductible if I file with my insurance which IM NOT! This is your fault ! Fix my car ! They blamed this new ownership for any price increases, and the overall vibe is not welcoming. Cost $36 bucks and they said come by anytime and they'll top off my fluids. I hate getting my oil changed. Especially with kids. The waiting area is always super grimy and cramped, no one seems happy to be there, and then you get the full court press upsell. We've all experienced it. This Jiffy Lube is different. Don't get me wrong, it is still a Jiffy Lube. But it is like the platonic ideal of a Jiffy Lube. Or a Jiffy Lube transplanted straight from heaven by the Good Lord. Friendly staff. A nice, clean, airy waiting area. New, comfortable, leather (probably fake, but let's attribute that to environmentalism and animal rights rather than $$) Non-toxic beverages like clean water bottles in a (I kid you not) wine bottle fridge and a perfectly arranged set of Keurig pods. Asked them if I could wait/pay outside if possible and they said bring him on in and warned me that they would all give my dog tons of love. I got there within two minutes of calling, they invited me to wait inside with my dog, and replaced it in 5 minutes. I received AMAZING customer service today from Hector at the 3630 N Elston Ave Chicago, IL location. While getting my oil changed a few days ago, the workers attempted to fill my tires up like normal and I started getting notifications about a low tire pressure shortly after but figured I would get to it as soon as I could. A day later, I came out to my car with a completely flat tire. After calling this location and speaking with Hector he came out right away to MY SCHOOL to take off my tire, laying on the ground, taking it to a near by shop to fill it up and installing it again. I know a lot about cars and I know when I'm being taken for a ride. I prefer to work on my own cars, but I've learned that Chicago won't allow you to do that if you park on the street. It has been time for an oil change for about a month. Today, I had to leave work early for a doctor's appointment and made great time. I had about twenty minutes to spare. I swung into Jiffy Lube and asked how long it would take. The man said fifteen minutes. I went inside, was greeted by the very kind counter lady. We did the paperwork and I braced myself for the inevitable upsale. "You need an air filter, you need a HEPA filter, your transmission fluid needs to be changed, etc." I got none of that! They showed me my filters, but agreed that they are fine. I paid the bill (with a nice $10 discount for being a first-time customer) and I was out the door in thirteen minutes flat.
